The Qualcomm SGMII SerDes PHY has two distinct voltage supply rails,
vdda-0p9 and vdda-1p2. The binding incorrectly described only a single
generic supply via 'phy-supply'.
Deprecate 'phy-supply' and instead add two named supply properties. The
0.9V rail draws a peak current of 46 mA and the 1.2V rail draws 15 mA.

In Layerscape (Arm) and QorIQ (PowerPC) devices, hardware peripherals
are accessed by the CPU through a portion of the SoC address space
called CCSR ("Configuration, Control, and Status Registers"). All
hardware IP blocks have their registers mapped here, and the Device
Configuration block makes no exception.
However, there exists a secondary range of the address space named DCSR
("Debug Control and Status Registers") which, like CCSR, also holds
registers of hardware IP blocks, except the DCSR contents is hidden in
all public reference manuals.
The intention of the CCSR/DCSR split, to the best of my knowledge, was
to place the functionality that is too low level for normal use, and
which is necessary only for debug, in a completely separate address
space which can be hidden.
A use case has appeared where networking SerDes lanes need to be
reconfigured at runtime for a different protocol (example: 10GBase-R to
SGMII), and the architecture of the SoCs does not normally permit that.
The Reset Configuration Word (RCW) is a data structure read by the SoC
preboot loader (PBL) which contains stuff like pinmuxing and SerDes
protocol mapping for each lane.
The RCW that the PBL has loaded is visible in the DCFG block's normal
status registers (from CCSR), as read only. Turns out, the RCW is also
mapped in the DCFG's shadow register map (in DCSR), in a write-only
form. Writing to the RCW registers from the DCFG's DCSR space to change
what the PBL has loaded is called "RCW override".
It has been validated that the RCW override procedure is necessary to
reconfigure the networking data path when a SerDes lane performs a major
protocol change. It changes some internal muxes which connect the PCS to
either the 10G MAC or to the 1G MAC.
Defining the DCSR area of the DCFG as a secondary 'reg' array element
allows operating systems to perform RCW overrides. Since it is
introduced late in the binding's lifetime, it is optional. It can be
identified by name, but also by index (first 'reg' is CCSR).
Note that while all SoCs should have a DCFG register block in DCSR, we
only need to expose it for the SoCs where the RCW override procedure is
known to be needed and has been validated.

maxItems. This could be replaced with proper min/max constraints for
values, except that hardware (as expressed in driver) supports only one
native chipselect, thus constraint of "const:1" would make the property
implied by the compatible. spi-controller.yaml schema already defines
this property, so its presence here is redundant.

Prasad Kumpatla <prasad.kumpatla@oss.qualcomm.com> says:
Add AudioReach support for LPASS Audio IF based TDM backends and wire it
up for the sc8280xp machine driver.
The series first adds topology-driven Audio IF source/sink handling so
the DSP interface parameters can be described by topology while runtime
media format and slot configuration still come from the machine driver.
It then adds TDM DAI operations for q6apm-lpass-dais, exposes the Audio
IF clock IDs through the q6dsp-lpass-ports binding and q6prm clock
tables, and introduces common QCOM helpers for parsing standard
dai-tdm-slot-* properties from backend CPU and codec endpoints.
Finally, sc8280xp uses the common helpers during hw_params to program
CPU and codec TDM slots, derive the backend bit clock from the active
PCM parameters, and request the CPU and codec clocks before the stream is
started.

Allow standard dai-tdm-slot-* properties in the CPU and codec child
nodes of a DAI link.
The QCOM machine driver parses these child nodes to configure TDM slots
on the active CPU and codec DAIs. The properties are already defined by
the common tdm-slot binding, but qcom,sm8250.yaml currently rejects them
because the CPU and codec child nodes set additionalProperties: false.
Permit dai-tdm-slot-num, dai-tdm-slot-width and dai-tdm-slot-[rt]x-mask
there so boards using TDM backends can describe the slot layout without
schema warnings.

Some QE GPIO pins have an associated interrupt line in the QE PIC to
signal state changes on the pin. Add the corresponding
interrupt-controller / nexus properties to the QE GPIO binding.
Because the GPIO controller does not perform any interrupt handling
itself, a nexus node (interrupt-map) is used to map each GPIO line
supporting IRQ to the parent QE PIC interrupt domain.
As the QE PIC can be configured to generate an interrupt on either a
high-to-low transition or any change in signal state, three
interrupt-map entries are needed per GPIO pin that can yield an
interrupt (falling, both, and the "none" case which defaults to both in
QE PIC). This overhead is necessary because the interrupt-map-pass-thru
property is not part of the DT specification.
The interrupt-map property is optional: it is not required for GPIO
banks that have no interrupt capable GPIO line (e.g. port D on MPC8323),
or when interrupt functionality is not used.
Update the example to show a scenario where each bank supports a
different numbers of IRQs, or no IRQs at all.

T6032 (M3 Ultra) is like in the previous generations two T6031 dies

Neil Armstrong <neil.armstrong@linaro.org> says:
The Qualcom SM8650 based Ayaneo Pocket S2 gaming device has a set
of 2 WSA speakers connected on the WSA2 lines.
But the Audioreach DSP only handles WSA2 in pair with the WSA
interface by using the upper bits of the active_channels_mask
for WSA2 and the lower bits for WSA:
__________________________________________________
| Bits | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
---------------------------------------------------
| Line | WSA2 Ch2 | WSA2 Ch1 | WSA Ch2 | WSA Ch1 |
---------------------------------------------------
Setting only the WSA2 upper bits is perfectly valid and
functional but the current Audioreach code builds the bitmask
from the channels count with:
active_channels_mask = (1 << num_channels) - 1;
In order to enable the WSA2 bits the channel count should be 4,
but the lower WSA bits are then also enabled and the DSP errors
out when trying to play on the disabled WSA interface.
A solution would've been to add a fake WSA2 topology element which
would be translated into the top bits only, but it's not clean and
add some special exceptions in the generic Audioreach code.
The solution suggested by Srinivas is to use the channel mapping to
set this bitmask.
This works but makes all the other calls using the channel mapping fail
because the DSP requires the channel_mapping table to start from index 0
and using num_channel length in order to apply the mapping on the
active_channels_mask bits in order.
So if you have an active_channels_mask like:
_______________________
| Bits | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
-------------------------
| Mask | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
------------------------
And the channel mapping:
_________________________________
| Channel | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
-----------------------------------
| Mapping | FR | FL | NULL | NULL |
-----------------------------------
Will need to be converted to:
____________________
| Channel | 1 | 0 |
---------------------
| Mapping | FR | FL |
---------------------
And the DSP will map FR on WSA2 Ch2 and FL on WSA2 Ch1 as:
_________________________________
| Line | WSA2 Ch2 | WSA2 Ch1 |
----------------------------------
| Mapping | FR | FL |
----------------------------------
So we need to skip the empty channel mapping entries in all other
users of the channel_map to build valid channel_mapping tables.
This should not break any other usecases since the default channel
mapping always start from index 0, and will add flexibilty to allow
some special non linear mapping for other interfaces as well.
Finally we add a special prepare callback for the Ayaneo PS2 sound card
which sets the custom channel mapping for the WSA interface to make audio
work properly on the gaming device.

Add the 'mipi-i3c-static-method' property mentioned in the MIPI I3C
Discovery and Configuration Specification [1] to specify which discovery
method an I3C device supports during bus initialization. The property is
a bitmap, where a bit value of 1 indicates support for that method, and 0
indicates lack of support.
Bit 0: SETDASA CCC (Direct)
Bit 1: SETAASA CCC (Broadcast)
Bit 2: Other CCC (vendor / standards extension)
All other bits are reserved.
It is specifically needed when an I3C device requires SETAASA for the
address assignment. SETDASA will be supported by default if this property
is absent, which means for now the property just serves as a flag to
enable SETAASA, but keep the property as a bitmap to align with the
specifications.

Older dtschema <2024.02 required custom select to avoid applying this
binding to anything having "syscon" compatible. That's not the case
anymore and this additional select has two headaches:
1. Duplicates all the compatibles listed in the schema.
2. Is error-prone, because it requires contributor to add the compatible
in two places, otherwise the schema will be silently ignored.
The select list already misses mentioning compatibles:
mediatek,mt8365-infracfg-nao and renesas,r9a08g046-lvds-cmn (with the
latter being reverted for different reasons).
This requires bumping minimum dtschema requirement to v2024.04, which
feels old enough to be a safe requirement.

"syscon" is a system controller with registers having their own
functions, thus not really a trivial MMIO simple bus. "simple-bus" on
the other hand is just a bus on which multiple devices sit and the
"simple" means no functions are allowed here.
Combination of both "syscon" and "simple-bus" is abuse of DT for easier
instantiating of Linux device drivers so add a schema to disallow that.
Unfortunately there are a few old cases of that patterns, so add
exceptions:
1. "cznic,turris1x-cpld" and "img,pistachio-cr-periph" are already used
in upstream DTS.
2. TI has several DTSI with a child of SCM device (e.g. "ti,am3-scm")
using "syscon" and "simple-bus" but without a dedicated compatible
documented anywhere. Add new compatibles for such cases.
Additionally, add comments around code enforcing two or three
compatibles: it is similar safeguard detecting incorrect bindings.

The schema checking for expected naming patterns for SoC IP block nodes
was really incomplete and was checking only nodes with single
compatible.
Fix this by changing "select:" to "contains:" so every
node, except root nodes, having at least one matching compatible will be
evaluated.
This however will evaluate nodes which have some generic fallbacks (e.g.
syscon), thus the schema for expected compatible should also have
"contains:" (with "anyOf:").
These two above are the only functional changes in this commit and the
rest of the diff is indentation change. None of the patterns are
changed (neither in "Preferred naming style" group nor in "Legacy
namings"), none of the compatibles are affected. Basically the second
part of the diff is (simplifying):
properties:
compatible:
- oneOf:
- ......
+ contains:
+ anyOf:
+ ......

The schema misses several old style compatibles with SoC component
trailing in the compatible (qcom,IP-SoC):
- qcom,apss-wdt-x1e80100
- qcom,apss-wdt-xxx, qcom,rpm-xxx and qcom,scm-xxx for SoC with code
names (like qcom,rpm-shikra)
- qcom,kpss-gcc-xxx
- qcom,rpmcc-xxx
- qcom,tcsr-xxx
- qcom,usb-hs-phy-xxx
It also missed qcom,ipq806x-ahci.
None of these were flagged by schema, because they were used with
fallbacks and the schema checks only for single compatibles.
Nevertheless document them for complete picture and for future change,
which will apply the schema to fallbacks as well.

Grow the schema checking for proper SoC compatible naming style with
recently upstreamed new Qualcomm SoCs: Eliza, Kaanapali, Hawi, Mahua,
Maili, Nord and Shikra. The list covers only SoC IP blocks, thus no
Hamoa or Talos in the names, because these are codenames but not used
for SoC IP block naming.
Since switching from model numbers to codenames, this list with explicit
codenames will have to grow and list them all in order for the schema to
work. It feels like a churn, but the compatible naming is still mess,
for example, the schema pci/qcom,pcie-x1e80100.yaml with a legacy naming
vendor,IP-SoC (qcom,pcie-x1e80100) received a new compatible with new
style (qcom,glymur-pcie).

Add support for MI2S clock control within q6apm-lpass DAIs, including
handling of MCLK, BCLK via the DAI .set_sysclk callback. Each MI2S port
now retrieves its clock handles from the device tree, allowing per-port
clock configuration and proper enable/disable during startup and shutdown.
On platforms such as Monaco and Lemans, third-party codecs are
hardware-wired to the SoC and do not always have an in-tree codec
driver to manage their clocks. For these designs, clock line
enablement must be driven from the platform side, and this
series provides the necessary support for that.
On QAIF-based platforms such as Shikra and Hawi, responsibility
for voting I2S MCLK and bit-clock has moved from the DSP to the
kernel. This series introduces the required device tree binding
support to represent and vote for these clocks from the kernel.

The EcoNet EN7528 MIPS SoC integrates an MT7530 Gigabit switch,
memory-mapped in the SoC register space like the built-in switches of
the MediaTek MT7988 and Airoha EN7581/AN7583 SoCs. Its four user ports
are connected to integrated Gigabit PHYs and its CPU port is connected
internally to the SoC Ethernet MAC.
Those three switches are MT7531-based, whereas the EN7528 has a genuine
MT7530 switch core (its chip revision register reads 0x7530). The two
generations differ in their register programming - for example the CPU
port is selected through the MT7530-style MFC register rather than the
MT7531 CFC register - so the EN7528 is not compatible with the existing
switch compatibles and cannot fall back to one of them.
Add the econet,en7528-switch compatible, with the same constraints as
the other built-in switches.

Add three optional properties to the MAX8903 charger binding to
describe board-level GPIO control of the DC and USB input current
limits:
DC input (TA / DOK pin):
- dc-current-limit-gpios (1..4 GPIOs): mux control lines feeding
the MAX8903 IDC resistor mux;
- dc-current-limit-mapping (uint32-matrix of {microamps,
gpio_bit_pattern} pairs): the available current levels and the
GPIO bit pattern that selects each level.
USB input (USB / UOK pin):
- usb-current-limit-gpios: a single GPIO driving the IUSB pin.
The IUSB pin is silicon-fixed by the MAX8903 datasheet (Pin
Description): low selects 100 mA, high selects 500 mA. Only
the GPIO mapping is board-specific; the current values are
not exposed in DT.
A dependentRequired block ties dc-current-limit-gpios and
dc-current-limit-mapping together so an incomplete DT cannot pass
validation with only one half of the pair.
These let userspace clamp the input draw via the standard
POWER_SUPPLY_PROP_INPUT_CURRENT_LIMIT power_supply attribute. The HP
TouchPad uses both: two TLMM lines select between 0.5 A, 1.0 A,
1.5 A and 2.0 A DC input current limits behind the MAX8903B
charger, and a third TLMM line picks the IUSB 100 mA / 500 mA
limit.
These are purely additive; existing platforms remain unaffected.

Marco Giunta <marco_giunta@outlook.it> says:
Several Lenovo Legion laptops (Pro 7i 16IAX10H, Y9000P IAX10,
Pro 7 16AFR10H, R9000P ADR10) use AWINIC AW88399 smart amplifiers
to drive their bass woofers, connected via I2C as side codecs
to a Realtek ALC287 HDA codec.
Without a driver for these amplifiers, only the tweeters produce
sound, resulting in quiet and tinny audio.
An ASoC driver for the AW88399 already exists in-tree
(sound/soc/codecs/aw88399.c), contributed by AWINIC, but it targets
ASoC topologies and cannot drive the chip when it sits behind an
HDA controller. This series adds a proper HDA side codec driver,
following the established pattern used by the CS35L41, CS35L56,
and TAS2781 drivers.
Patch 1 extracts the device-level functions from the existing ASoC
driver into a shared library module (SND_SOC_AW88399_LIB) with a
shared header at include/sound/aw88399.h, following the CS35L41
precedent (SND_SOC_CS35L41_LIB / include/sound/cs35l41.h). This
avoids a build-time dependency on the full ASoC codec module and
ensures clean separation between the ASoC and HDA drivers.
Patches 2 through 5 prepare the shared library for use on ACPI-based
HDA systems: patch 2 extends channel assignment to work without
Device Tree properties, patch 3 adds a per-instance flag to bypass
an unreliable hardware status bit on certain boards, patch 4 adds
a firmware reload flag so that the HDA driver can signal that DSP
firmware needs to be re-uploaded after system sleep, and patch 5
adds a channel setter so that the HDA driver can configure the
amplifier without depending on ASoC-internal device headers.
NOTE ON FIRMWARE: This driver requires the firmware file
aw88399_acf.bin, which uses the same format and request path as the
existing ASoC driver. This firmware is not yet available in the
linux-firmware repository. We intend to coordinate with the AWINIC
maintainers (CC'd) to arrange its inclusion. In the meantime, users
can extract the firmware from the Windows driver and place it in
/lib/firmware/.
This work builds on the initial driver development by Yakov Till
("Lyapsus") and the bounty effort organized by Nadim Kobeissi:

The Versal NET clock controller compatible is specified as:
compatible = "xlnx,versal-net-clk", "xlnx,versal-clk";
with xlnx,versal-clk listed as fallback. The original binding had
two separate if/then blocks - one matching xlnx,versal-clk (2 clocks)
and another matching xlnx,versal-net-clk (3 clocks). Since both
compatible strings are present, both conditions matched simultaneously
and JSON Schema applied the more restrictive 2-clock constraint,
causing false "too long" validation errors for Versal NET.
Define clock-names at the top-level and use if/then only to constrain
the clock count (2 for Versal, 3 for Versal NET). Add a dedicated

The EIC7700 SoC integrates two GMAC instances. The eth1 MAC exhibits
different RX clock sampling characteristics due to silicon-inherent
timing behavior.
The eth1 MAC has a fixed, non-configurable RX clock-to-data skew at the
MAC input in the order of 4-5 ns. This cannot be compensated solely by
the standard MAC internal delay configuration and PHY delay, and RX clock
inversion is required at 1000Mbps for correct sampling.
The eth1 TX path also includes a fixed silicon-inherent delay of
approximately 2 ns. This delay is always present and cannot be disabled.
It is therefore part of the effective transmit timing observed on the
wire.
For the eth1 variant, the valid tx-internal-delay-ps values include
this fixed delay component. Consequently, the effective range becomes
2000-4540 ps (approximately 2000 ps fixed delay plus 0-2540 ps
programmable delay).
Introduce a dedicated compatible string
"eswin,eic7700-qos-eth-clk-inversion" to represent the eth1 variant,
allowing the driver to apply RX clock inversion only when required by
hardware variant selection.
This keeps SoC-level differentiation without exposing silicon-fixed skew
as configurable device tree parameters.
To reflect this, model the TX internal delay as a base 0-4540 ps range,
and constrain valid values per compatible using conditional schema rules.
Update the binding schema as follows:
- Define tx-internal-delay-ps as a base range: 0-4540 ps
- Add compatible-specific constraints using if/then rules:
* eswin,eic7700-qos-eth:
max 2540 ps
* eswin,eic7700-qos-eth-clk-inversion:
minimum 2000 ps (effective range 2000-4540 ps)
