Here's the clk changes for the merge window which is dominated in the diffstat
by Qualcomm churning out new SoCs that need clk drivers. Looking beyond the sheer amount of lines of mostly data there we have a clk nexus DT binding change in the core clk framework and a driver core patch to add a subsys driver macro. The clock nexus support is useful for devices that map clks internally or for connectors on a board that route clock signals to another board. I suspect the use of this will expand in the future, so we have unit tests to make sure it doesn't break. The driver core change adds subsys_driver() and subsys_platform_driver() so we can register early drivers without open-coding that all (module_platform_driver() is at device initcall level so it isn't be used). Beyond the core framework bits we have lots of changes all over the tree to initialize 'struct clk_init_data'. The potential risk here is that someone forgets to initialize all the members of that structure and either the clk flags cause weird behavior later on or the parents are pointing at junk and the clk is orphaned forever. The patches just initialize the thing with zeroes to be safe. Longer term we should probably move this struct out of 'struct clk_hw' and pass it during clk registration time. That's a much bigger change and would require restructuring entire drivers that rely on the pointer being there. Finally, we have the usual fixes like calculation updates for dividers, handling error paths during clk registration, or fixing clk data now that drivers are using them. Those patches are dwarfed by the amount of new SoC support and only affect those SoCs and the consumers of those clks. Overall I'm more concerned the clk_init_data patches are going to expose some latent bugs that we didn't notice before because something was relying on clks being orphaned and now they're not. remoteproc updates for v7.4
Add Qualcomm QMI Thermal Mitigation Device support for PAS-managed remote processors, with cooling device bindings and configurations for Hamoa, Kodiak, Lemans, Talos, Monaco, and Shikra CDSP and modem subsystems as applicable. Add per-power-domain proxy performance states for Hawi CDSP and update Hawi, Maili, and SDX75 PAS compatible bindings and the SDX75 device tree. Correct the Qualcomm ADSP startup timeout. Fetch auto-boot firmware only once and synchronize boot work with device removal. Bound ELF section header accesses, improve trace diagnostics, and update coredump configuration documentation. Set 48-bit DMA masks for TI K3 DSP and R5 remote processors, correct mailbox message types, and enable compile testing for more TI drivers. Fix i.MX address range boundary checks and DSP runtime PM ordering, and simplify mailbox notification handling. Harden Xilinx mailbox setup and teardown and avoid sending notifications when the transmit queue is full. Propagate STM32 optional IRQ lookup errors and correct the MediaTek MT8188 SCP register binding. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQJCBAABCgAsFiEEBd4DzF816k8JZtUlCx85Pw2ZrcUFAmriBRcOHGJqb3JuQGty eW8uc2UACgkQCx85Pw2ZrcX16RAApbzzwQxl0CHXjqz70Qb8G0e8I11xfnmKQalx UHU/GQJipx4/ULOsXmVlxfBEZJgaYcc+UehPgKJYpDEdHSnYZfmbZunPGzohcbHM 0y0fLm73Z3+7L8nYQZtn+1wxOqBrw/H/09lGkl2ypZQ2K0dhUjZLC5AhDp2bGKQY aRrIKhSeh8fyznzc+B8b+CE33AjCvnW3uO4Vd/nS3OlPwxTcUL9/eW1CVCDqRK1n Px5oTubk+RsgcxEwuZSYWb8GumfT9xI7kQkJuFed1830OWImIDJCQdxlwXUucqKK KlyKLeo+8uF7kPyIasIx8sEBm911P+D1Ab/ZxSeTuhT7ERcCgEgjIz8wrzihGD6e 6N2q2p40JStCNEoNYnidg8langf1+A8SNpiqcXFEzldypBT7ThjOryb0sxjFLdSC laF1290cw2qGKGGjC/gv1P2h5NNUKIHtb3XRxqZzrR7oZfN5D2y5T2+KUXRiGujQ 49bHyGvqb9/8nBhD3KnH31fvCw1S/3ZHu5Fx0MAymXYfhvL/er4ykJk7fPQMaLd3 I65sW9bVypSPhe7A9+DciLhy4esNXkrrL4AlzdyXPWVDPxFWBODX+nDZoOgxy/+5 YgWNzlA5bAvfEKs8sMxtekAX4cbovhN2jLgCbqZPw7VH+eFzBsVUyeY8C4Z2MUpC uB1eXhA= =B5vf -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Merge tag 'rproc-v7.4' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/remoteproc/linux Pull remoteproc updates from Bjorn Andersson: - Add Qualcomm QMI Thermal Mitigation Device support for PAS-managed remote processors, with cooling device bindings and configurations for Hamoa, Kodiak, Lemans, Talos, Monaco, and Shikra CDSP and modem subsystems as applicable. - Add per-power-domain proxy performance states for Hawi CDSP and update Hawi, Maili, and SDX75 PAS compatible bindings and the SDX75 device tree. dt-bindings: clk: zte: Add zx297520v3 LSP clock and reset controller
The clock controller of the zx297520v3 Low Speed Peripherals is relatively clean. One register per device with gates, muxes and resets and for some devices a divider. There are even bits in the matrix controller to control propagation of clock lines down to LSP. The clocks are sorted by register address and I am convinced that the device list is complete. There are, however, a few more registers that are likely extra dividers for TDM and I2S devices. dt-bindings: clk: zte: Add zx297520v3 matrix clock and reset controller
This controller contains clocks and resets for high speed devices on the zx297520v3 board and hardware spinlocks that I expect will be necessary to communicate correctly with the LTE DSP firmware blob. I don't know much about the hwlocks yet other than that they exist, so there is no header yet adding meaning to their indices. Presumably that meaning doesn't exist in hardware and is de facto defined by ZTE's firmware blobs running on the rprocs. The zte-zx297520v3-crm driver will instantiate separate MFD children for clocks and resets, which are handled by separate clock and reset drivers. dt-bindings: clk: zte: Add zx297520v3 top clock and reset controller
These SoCs have 3 clock and reset controllers: Top, Matrix and LSP. Clocks go from oscillator -> top -> matrix -> LSP, with a register in top controlling most clocks that get passed to matrix and a register in matrix controlling all the clocks that get passed to LSP. Generally every device has two clocks (one work clock, and one that connects it to the bus, I call it PCLK), two reset bits (I don't know what the difference is - sometimes asserting one is enough to reset the device, sometimes both need to be asserted). PCLK and WCLK are controlled by individual gates. Some devices have a mux and/or a divider for their work clock. Some devices, like the GPIO controller, only have reset bits and no clocks. The top clock controller is fed by a 26 MHz external oscillator and has 4 PLLs to generate other clock rates. ZTE's kernel mostly relies on the boot ROM to set up PLLs, but one LTE-related PLL is not configured on some boards. Therefore my driver contains code to program PLLs. It produces identical settings as the boot ROM for the pre-programmed frequencies. Not all clocks will have an explicit user in the end. I am defining a lot of them simply to shut them off. The boot loader sets up a few of the proprietary timers, which will send regular IRQs (although the kernel of course doesn't need to listen to them). I don't plan to add a driver for the proprietary timer as I see no use for them - the ARM arch timer works just fine. I will add a driver for the very similar proprietary watchdog though. The clock list in this patch is pretty complete but not exhaustive. There are other bits that are enabled, but I couldn't deduce what they are controlling by trial and error. Some of them seem to do nothing. Others cause an instant hang of the board when disabled. It is quite likely that a handful more clocks will be added in the future, but not a large number. Char/Misc/IIO/others driver changes for 7.4-rc1
Here is the big set of char/misc/android/iio and other small driver
subsystem patches for 7.4-rc1. Loads of stuff in here, larger than
normal. Highlights include:
- removal of the C binder code, the rust version is stable and will be
used going forward in a few billion devices. Great job by those
developers.
- loads and loads of IIO driver updates and feature additions
- speakup driver fixes and updates
- mhi driver updates
- mei driver updates
- xillybus driver fixes
- comedi driver fixes
- lots of coresight driver updates
- Interconnect driver updates
- nvmem driver updates and fixes
- slimbus driver updates and fixes
- spmi driver updates and fixes
- lots of tiny misc and char driver fixes based on people scanning for
things.
All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues, other than a merge conflict with one of the rust tree files,
which should be simple to resolve.

soc: devicetree updates for 7.4
This is a rather large update of over 1000 non-merge commits touching
devicetree files and bindings.
A few notable SoC were added this time:
- Apple M4 and A18 Pro are used in laptops, these follow the M3 model
added in 7.2.
- Google Laguna (aka Tensor G5) is used last year's Pixel phone
generation. Unlike the earlier Tensor chips, this is not based
on Samsung's Exynos family design but starts a new chip family.
- Qualcomm's Hawi and Nord SoCs are two powerful chips using the
custom Oryon cores. Product names and applications are so far
not known, which means that Qualcomm is doing something right
by upstreaming kernel support early.
The ST stm32mp23xc/stm32mp25xc SoC support was previously removed because
there were no users upstream, but they are back now that boards have
shown up. Renesas RZ/G2M v3.0 (R8A774A3) is just a minor variation of
the already supported SoC.
In total, there are 81 new dts files for individual boards, and they are
all over the place. Only one riscv based machine is added, the Milk-V
Meles SBC using the T-Head th1520 chip. For 32-bit Arm, we have 13 new
boards. About half are industrial embedded boards using NXP i.MX6/7
chips, the rest are older products: two Amazon tablets, two Motorola
phones and two SoM boards.
Everything else is 64-bit Arm:
- many industrial embedded boards using NXP layerscape, NXP i.MX8/9,
Qualcomm Hamoa, ST stm32mp2, Rockchip rk35xx, and Renesas RZ/G2
SoCs
- Laptops and tablets using Apple M4, Qualcomm Snapdragon X2,
Snapdragon X1 Elite and Allwinner A133 chips
- Valve Steam Frame VR headset using Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
- Seven handheld game consoles using Qualcomm Dragonwing qcs8550
- Mobile phones using Google Tensor G5, Samsung Exynos 850,
and various Qualcomm Snapdragon chips
Aside from the new stuff, there is still a lot going on for existing
socs and boards, including GPU hardware support on MediaTek MT8173
based laptops. Most patches actually add features this time, as the
compile-time diagnostic changes are slowing down.

RISC-V misc. soc drivers for v7.4
StarFive: Syscon bindings and a socinfo driver for the JHB100. There ended up being several clock bindings here also because the clock tree needed the whole lot due to headers and I envisaged this being part of a three-way shared tag between my soc driver branch, dts branch and the clock tree. Due to timing, the dts branch didn't get this content, leading to the slightly odd branch here. Microchip: A bugfix for teardown code in the mpfs system controller driver. dt-bindings: clock: qcom: Add CMN PLL support for IPQ5210 SoC
Add the compatible string for the IPQ5210 CMN PLL clock controller and the dt-bindings clock ID header for IPQ5210. The IPQ5210 CMN PLL supplies configurable clocks to the NSS (network subsystem), PPE (packet process engine), and PON (passive optical network) hardware blocks. It also supplies a raw EPHY output clock for the integrated Ethernet PHY and several gated fixed-rate outputs to Ethernet PHY and switch devices. dt-bindings: clock: qcom: nord-negcc: Add the secondary QUSB2 PHY reset

dt-bindings: interconnect: Add Qualcomm IPQ9650 support
On Qualcomm IPQ9650 platform the interconnect busses don't have separate
RPM / RPMh controls. Instead they require direct votes through the GCC.
To unify hardware descriptions (and software interfaces) between this
platform and other Qualcomm platforms, make GCC export corresponding NoC
clocks as interconnects. Add IDs for these Network-on-Chip interfaces.
The GCC schema already defines #interconnect-cells since it was added in
the commit

dt-bindings: remoteproc: qcom,pas: add #cooling-cells property
Document the optional #cooling-cells property for Qualcomm PAS
remoteproc nodes so they can be used as thermal cooling devices via
the QMI Thermal Mitigation Device (TMD) interface.
Qualcomm remote processors expose TMD endpoints that support thermal
throttling through firmware. The cooling-device specifier uses 3 cells:
<&phandle device_id min_state max_state>
where device_id selects the TMD endpoint (for example PA, modem, or
CDSP software mitigation), with constants defined in:
include/dt-bindings/thermal/qcom,pas.h
Example usage in a thermal zone:
cooling-maps {
map0 {
trip = <&cpu_alert>;
cooling-device = <&remoteproc_cdsp
QCOM_TMD_CDSP_SW
0 THERMAL_NO_LIMIT>;
};
};
