Queued buffers are added to the tail of vid_cap_active in
buffer_queue(), but the capture kthread also retrieves buffers from
the tail of the list.
This makes the queue behave as LIFO instead of FIFO when multiple
buffers are queued.
Fix this by retrieving buffers from the head of the list.

The driver uses vb2_fop_release() as its file release operation, so
vb2_video_unregister_device() should be used instead of
video_unregister_device() during driver removal.
This ensures that the vb2 queue is properly disconnected before the
video device is unregistered.

The current code makes smatch a bit uncomfortable:

If the fixed minor ranges are not properly set we could end up in a
situation where the calculated minor is invalid. Add a check for this in
the code to make it more robust.

tegra_get_format_fourcc_by_idx() returns a u32 but uses -EINVAL to
signal an out-of-bounds index. This results in a large unsigned
value being returned, which may be interpreted as a valid fourcc.
Returning 0 is not a valid fourcc either. This condition should
never happen, so use WARN_ON_ONCE() to catch unexpected out-of-bounds
access and return a valid fallback format instead.

Add an in-tree AVMatrix HWS PCIe capture driver. The driver supports
up to four HDMI inputs and exposes the video capture path through
V4L2 with vb2-dma-contig streaming, DV timings, and per-input
controls. Audio support is intentionally omitted from this
submission.
This patch also adds the MAINTAINERS entry for the new driver.
This driver is derived from a GPL out-of-tree driver.

The linux-firmware is providing the vpuNN_pM.mbn firmware for SM8250
since August of 2024. Stop using the legacy firmware name
(vpu-1.0/venus.mbn) and switch to the standard firmware name schema
(vpu/vpu20_p4.mbn).

Having firmware-related fields in platform data results in the tying
platform data to the HFI firmware data rather than the actual hardware.
For example, SM8450 uses Gen2 firmware, so currently its platform data
should be placed next to the other gen2 platforms, although it has the
VPU2.0 core, similar to the one found on SM8250 and SC7280 and so the
hardware-specific platform data is also close to those devices.
Split firmware data to a separate struct, separating hardware-related
data from the firmware interfaces.

The set_preset_registers is (currently) common to all supported devices.
Extract it to a iris_vpu_common.c and call it directly from
iris_vpu_power_on(). Later, if any of the devices requires special
handling, it can be sorted out separately.

With the Iris and Venus driver having more or less feature parity for
"HFI 6xx" platforms and with Iris gaining support for SC7280, flip the
switch. Use Iris by default for SM8250 and SC7280, the platforms which
are supported by both drivers, and use Venus only if Iris is not
compiled at all. Use IS_ENABLED to strip out the code and data
structures which are used by the disabled platforms.

As SC7180 is the only remaining user of the non-TZ / non-PAS setup which
uses the video-firmware subnode, move its definition from the common
schema to the SC7180-specific one.
These properties do not accurately describe the hardware. Future
platforms that are going to support non-TZ setup will use different
semantics and different DT ABI (using the iommu-map property).

The only users of the non-PAS setup on SC7280 platform are the ChromeOS
devices, which were cancelled before reaching end users. Iris, the
alternative driver for the same hardware, does not support non-PAS
setup. It is expected that in future both Venus and Iris devices will
use different ABI for non-PAS (EL2) setup.
In order to declare only the future-proof hardware description drop
support for non-PAS setup from the SC7280 Venus schema (breaking almost
non-existing SC7280 ChromeOS devices).
The dropped iommus entry reflects the extra stream, which should not be
treated in the same way as the main one (which doesn't match the usage
described by the iommus definition).

scaling both power domains, while keeping compatibility with the
existing DTs, which define only the MX domain.

Fix streaming from CSIDn RDI1 and RDI2 to VFEn RDI1 and RDI2. A pattern we
have replicated throughout CAMSS where we use the VC number to populate
both the VC fields and port fields of the CSID means that in practice only
VC = 0 on CSIDn:RDI0 to VFEn:RDI0 works.
Fix that for CSID gen3 by separating VC and port. Fix to VC zero as a
bugfix we will look to properly populate the VC field with follow on
patches later.

Fix streaming from CSIDn RDI1 and RDI2 to VFEn RDI1 and RDI2. A pattern we
have replicated throughout CAMSS where we use the VC number to populate
both the VC fields and port fields of the CSID means that in practice only
VC = 0 on CSIDn:RDI0 to VFEn:RDI0 works.
Fix that for CSID 340 by separating VC and port. Fix to VC zero as a bugfix
we will look to properly populate the VC field with follow on patches
later.

Fix streaming to RDI1 and RDI2. csid->phy.en_vc contains a bitmask of
enabled CSID ports not virtual channels.
We cycle through the number of available CSID ports and test this value
against the vc_en bitmask.
We then use the passed value both as an index to the port configuration
macros and as a virtual channel index.
This is a very broken pattern. Reviewing the initial introduction of VC
support it states that you can only map one CSID to one VFE. This is true
however each CSID has multiple sources which can sink inside of the VFE -
for example there is a "pixel" path for bayer stats which sources @
CSID(x):3 and sinks on VFE(x):pix.
That is CSID port # 3 should drive VFE port #3. With our current setup only
a sensor which drives virtual channel number #3 could possibly enable that
setup.
This is deeply wrong the virtual channel has no relevance to hooking CSID
to VFE, a fact that is proven after this patch is applied allowing
RDI0,RDI1 and RDI2 to function with VC0 whereas before only RDI1 worked.
Another way the current model breaks is the DT field. A sensor driving
different data-types on the same VC would not be able to separate the VC:DT
pair to separate RDI outputs, thus breaking another feature of VCs in the
MIPI data-stream.
Default the VC back to zero. A follow on series will implement subdev
streams to actually enable VCs without breaking CSID source to VFE sink.

Split the VFE bytes-per-line (BPL) alignment logic into separate
helpers for RDI and PIX paths. RDI is usually aligned on RDI write
engine bus constraint such as 64-bit or 128-bit. But PIX engine
is usually (at least on platform I looked at) based on pixel format.
On CAMSS_2290, PIX BPL alignment is set to 0 to indicate that the
alignment must be derived from the pixel format. This allows the
pipeline to use camss_format_get_bpl_alignment().
For other platforms, retain the legacy PIX default (16 bytes), until
PIX is properly tested/enabled.
A future improvement would be to remove platform-specific conditionals
from the VFE code and move the alignment requirements into the
per-platform VFE resource data.

Bytes-per-line (BPL) alignment in CAMSS currently uses ALIGN(), which
only works correctly for power-of-two values. Some RAW Bayer packing
formats (e.g. RAW10/12/14) require non-power-of-two alignment such as
3, 5, or 7-byte multiples, so ALIGN() produces incorrect results.
Introduce the use of roundup() with the per-format alignment returned by
camss_format_get_bpl_alignment() when no hardware alignment is enforced
(video->bpl_alignment).

Add camss_format_get_bpl_alignment(), a helper that returns the
bytes-per-line (BPL) alignment requirement for a given CAMSS format.
Different RAW Bayer packing schemes impose different BPL alignment
constraints (e.g. RAW10 requires multiples of 5 bytes, RAW12 multiples of
3 bytes, RAW14 multiples of 7 bytes, etc.). Centralizing this logic
makes the alignment rules explicit and avoids duplicating them across
the pipeline.
This will allow PIX paths and buffer preparation code to correctly
round up BPL values to hardware-required boundaries.

Add a debug trace to video_check_format() to log both the subdev-reported
format and the format requested by the video node. This makes it easier
to diagnose mismatches between subdev output and the negotiated V4L2
pixel format, as well as issues related to plane count, resolution, or
field settings.

VFE lite hardware does not provide a functional PIX path, but after
the per sub-device type resource changes the PIX subdev name is still
assigned unconditionally.
Only assign the PIX subdev name on non-lite VFE variants to avoid
exposing a misleading device name.

Introduce a new common Test Pattern Generator (TPG) implementation for
Qualcomm CAMSS. This module provides a generic interface for pattern
generation that can be reused by multiple platforms.
Unlike CSID-integrated TPG, this TPG acts as a standalone block
that emulates both CSIPHY and sensor behavior, enabling flexible test
patterns without external hardware.
