Most modern Qualcomm platforms (>= SM8150) expose information about the
DDR memory present on the system via SMEM.
Details from this information is used in various scenarios, such as
multimedia drivers configuring the hardware based on the "Highest Bank
address Bit" (hbb), or the list of valid frequencies in validation
scenarios...
Add support for parsing v3-v7 version of the structs. Unforunately,
they are not versioned, so some elbow grease is necessary to determine
which one is present. See for reference:

The hardcoded MAX_GENI_CFG_RAMn_CNT limit is not accurate for all SoCs:
some targets have less CFG RAM than the constant implies, while others
like QCS615 need more entries than the old limit of 455 allowed, causing
valid firmware to be rejected at load time.
Rather than hardcoding a constant, read PROG_RAM_DEPTH from SE_HW_PARAM_2
at runtime to get the actual CFG RAM depth of the hardware instance and
use that as the upper bound for firmware size validation.

In preparation for a refactoring of multimedia related MediaTek
drivers, including mmsys, mutex and mediatek-drm, rework all of
the MMSYS routes to specify a hardware component instance number
(or "SubID") alongside the hardware component type.
This also is one step of preparation towards the removal of the
catch-all mtk_ddp_comp_id enumeration and towards the migration
from a predefined-coupling static hardware component IDSubID
mapping (carrying around a very long enumeration and also some
multiple big arrays in mediatek-drm) to a more flexible map of
Component ID (Type) decoupled from Component SubID (HW Instance)
as then, anyway, techniques to handle components are always the
same on a type basis.

Diagnosing GENI SE-based driver (serial, SPI, I2C) failures currently
requires reading each hardware register individually, either through
ad hoc debug code or a debugger. This is slow, requires the state to
remain stable across the multiple reads, and cannot be run
non-intrusively during normal operation without adding printk-style
noise to each driver.
Add a new trace event header for the Qualcomm GENI Serial Engine (SE)
framework providing a geni_se_regs tracepoint. This tracepoint
captures a comprehensive snapshot of the GENI SE hardware state in a
single trace record, making it possible to correlate register values at
a precise point in time without multiple sequential reads.
The trace event records the following register groups:
- Main/secondary command and IRQ status (M_CMD0, S_CMD0, M/S_IRQ_STATUS)
- Engine status, IOS, and command control/error registers
- TX/RX FIFO status and watermark registers (including RFR watermark)
- M/S GP length registers
- DMA TX/RX IRQ, enable, length, pointer, attribute, and burst registers
- DMA interface enable, general config, QSB trans config, and debug
- M/S IRQ enable, GSI event enable, and top-level SE IRQ enable
- Serial master/slave clock config, general config, output control,
clock control RO, FIFO interface disable, and FW multilock MSA
- Clock select register
Having all these registers captured atomically in a single ftrace record
allows drivers built on top of the GENI SE framework (serial, SPI, I2C)
to invoke this tracepoint on error paths and reconstruct the full engine
state during post-mortem analysis without instrumenting each driver
separately.

moved QE into drivers/soc including gpio.c but left CONFIG_QE_GPIO
in powerpc's Kconfig.
Move it to SoC as well as it is the only place it is used:
drivers/soc/fsl/qe/Makefile:obj-$(CONFIG_QE_GPIO) += gpio.o qe_ports_ic.o
include/soc/fsl/qe/qe.h:#ifdef CONFIG_QE_GPIO

There is also a dependency in USB subsystem for CONFIG_USB_FHCI_HCD:
drivers/usb/host/Kconfig: depends on QE_GPIO && QUICC_ENGINE
Because that USB driver selects CONFIG_FSL_GTM which is specific to
powerpc, it has to depend on CONFIG_PPC.

put_fifo_with_discard() acts as both producer and consumer on the kfifo:
it calls kfifo_skip() (advances out) and kfifo_put() (advances in) from
the IRQ handler without synchronizing with snoop_file_read(), which also
consumes via kfifo_to_user(). On SMP systems this concurrent access can
leave (in - out) larger than the ring buffer, so __kfifo_to_user()'s clamp
to (in - out) is ineffective and kfifo_copy_to_user() can attempt a
copy_to_user() past the kmalloc-2k backing store:

On Shikra, the DDR System Firmware (DSF) configures ECC interrupt

Set irq_configured in shikra_cfg so that qcom_llcc_edac_probe() skips

handlers for non-default priority levels. Hence, for multi-socket Tegra
devices, registering the sys-off handler in the Tegra PMC driver (which
uses the low priority level) more than once fails.
The Tegra PMC sys-off handler is supported for all current generations
of the Tegra SoC, however, it is only used as a low priority handler if
everything else fails. For example, on Tegra264 the EFI reboot handler
is called to restart the device. Therefore, for multi-socket devices,
skip the registering of the sys-off handler to because this is not
critical.

Apple SoCs have PMGR blocks that control a bunch of power-related
features. Besides the existing device power state controls (which are
very uniform and handled by apple-pmgr-pwrstate), we also need to manage
more random registers such as SoC-wide fabric and memory controller
power states, which have a different interface.
Add a driver for these kitchen sink controls. Right now it implements
fabric and memory controller power state switching on system
standby/s2idle, which saves about 1W of power or so on t60xx platforms.

rpmh_rsc_probe() registers CPU PM or genpd notifiers before populating
child devices. If child population fails, the CPU PM notifier path is not
unwound and the genpd path needs open-coded cleanup.
Use devm_pm_runtime_enable() for the genpd path and
devm_add_action_or_reset() for both notifier registrations. This makes
probe failure and driver detach use the same cleanup model while keeping
devm_of_platform_populate() responsible for child devices.

QCOM_SCM and QCOM_SPM are user-selectable drivers, thus
ARM_QCOM_SPM_CPUIDLE should rather avoid selecting them but instead
depend to avoid any possible unmet dependencies.

The drivers for Qualcomm SoC components are covering a basic or
fundamental SoC blocks. Usually they are required for booting or to
achieve basic expected functionality when running Linux. These drivers
do not represent any sort of buses visible to the board
designers/configurators, thus they should be always enabled, regardless
how SoC is used in the final board.
Kernel configuration should not ask users choice of drivers when that
choice is obvious and known to the developers that answer should be
'yes' or 'module'.
Switch most of the Qualcomm SoC drivers to a default 'yes' or
'module' for ARCH_QCOM, to match existing defconfig usage.
This has no impact on arm64 defconfig, arm qcom_defconfig and arm
multi_v7_defconfig.
multi:
+#define CONFIG_QCOM_PDR_HELPERS_MODULE 1
+#define CONFIG_QCOM_PBS_MODULE 1
+#define CONFIG_QCOM_AOSS_QMP 1

The change will however enable by default all drivers for arm or arm64
COMPILE_TEST builds, whenever ARCH_QCOM is selected, which feels
logical: if one selects ARCH_QCOM then probably by default wants to
build test it entirely. Kernels with COMPILE_TEST are not supposed to
be used for booting.

There is no point to allow selecting core SoC drivers for Qualcomm ARMv7
SoCs when building ARM64 kernel, and vice versa.
This makes kernel configuration more difficult as many do not remember
the Qualcomm SoCs model names/numbers and their properties like
architecture. No features should be lost because:
1. There won't be a single image for ARMv7 and ARMv8/9 SoCs.
2. Newer ARMv8/9 SoCs won't be running in arm32 emulation mode.

Switch from a simple menu to menuconfig, so all Qualcomm SoC drivers
will be under one selectable option, allowing to disable them all which
should make kernel configuration easier when preparing a non-Qualcomm
kernel.
This has few benefits (functional impact of this commit):
1. Allow compile testing of QCOM_OCMEM, which previously required
ARCH_QCOM.
2. Hide behind ARCH_QCOM or COMPILE_TEST drivers specific to Qualcomm
which should not be available to other kernel builds:

exynos_get_pmu_regmap() obtains a device_node via of_find_matching_node()
and passes it to exynos_get_pmu_regmap_by_phandle(np, NULL). With
propname == NULL the callee uses np directly and does not drop a
reference, so the reference taken by of_find_matching_node() is leaked on
every call -- including on each -EPROBE_DEFER retry of the only in-tree
caller, exynos_retention_init() in the Exynos pinctrl driver.
Annotate np with the __free(device_node) cleanup attribute so the
reference is released when the function returns.

to create module symlinks in sysfs for built-in drivers; move
module_kset initialization to a pure_initcall and tegra cbb
registration to core_initcall to ensure correct ordering
- Pass THIS_MODULE implicitly through a coresight_init_driver() macro
- sysfs:
- Upgrade OOB write detection in sysfs_kf_seq_show() from printk to
WARN
- Add return value clamping to sysfs_kf_read()
- Rust:
- ACPI:
- Fix missing match data for PRP0001 by exporting
acpi_of_match_device()
- Auxiliary:
- Replace drvdata() with dedicated registration data on
auxiliary_device. drvdata() exposed the driver's bus device
private data beyond the driver's own scope, creating ordering
constraints and forcing the data to outlive all registrations
that access it. Registration data is instead scoped structurally
to the Registration object, making lifecycle ordering enforced
by construction rather than convention.
- Rust-native device driver lifetimes (HRT):
- Allow Rust device drivers to carry a lifetime parameter on their
bus device private data, tied to the device binding scope -- the
interval during which a bus device is bound to a driver. Device
resources like pci::Bar<'a> and IoMem<'a> can be stored directly
in the driver's bus device private data with a lifetime bounded
by the binding scope, so the compiler enforces at build time that
they do not outlive the binding. This removes Devres indirection
from every access site and eliminates try_access() failure paths
in destructors.
Bus driver traits use a Generic Associated Type (GAT)
Data<'bound> to introduce the lifetime on the private data,
rather than parameterizing the Driver trait itself. Auxiliary
registration data, where the lifetime is not introduced by a
trait callback but must be threaded through Registration, uses
the ForLt trait (a type-level abstraction for types generic over
a lifetime).
- Misc:
- Fix DT overlayed devices not probing by reverting the broken
treewide overlay fix and re-running fw_devlink consumer pickup when
an overlay is applied to a bound device
- Use root_device_register() for faux bus root device; add sanity
check for failed bus init
- Fix dev_has_sync_state() data race with READ_ONCE() and move it to
base.h
- Avoid spurious device_links warning when removing a device while
its supplier is unbinding
- Switch ISA bus to dynamic root device
- Fix suspicious RCU usage in kernfs_put()
- Remove devcoredump exit callback
- Constify devfreq_event_class

The bulk of these changes converts existing users to the modern variants
of the API that take a PMC instance as argument. This completes the
transition to multi-instance support, which then makes room for cleanups
and restricting the remaining legacy APIs to 32-bit platforms.
Some changes in this set also clean up powergate debugfs and restrict
the power-off handler to be installed only where appropriate. Lastly,
support for Tegra238 is added.

Commit "driver core: platform: set mod_name in driver registration" will
set struct device_driver's mod_name member for platform driver
registration. For a driver to be registered with its mod_name set,
module_kset needs to be initialized, which currently happens in a
subsys_initcall in param_sysfs_init(). The tegra cbb drivers register
themselves before module_kset init, in a pure_initcall. This works
currently because lookup_or_create_module_kobject(), which dereferences
module_kset via kset_find_obj(), is not called if mod_name is not set,
which is the case now.
So in preparation for the commit "driver core: platform: set mod_name in
driver registration", move tegra cbb driver registration to
core_initcall level, and commit "kernel: param: initialize module_kset
in a pure_initcall" will move module_kset init to pure_initcall level,
ensuring module_kset init happens before tegra cbb driver registration.

The Tegra PMC power-off handler exists solely to reboot the Nexus 7 into
a special bootloader mode when a USB cable is connected, so that the
bootloader can display battery status instead of powering off. There is
no reason to register it on any other Tegra board.
Guard the registration behind of_machine_is_compatible("asus,grouper")
and rename the handler to tegra_pmc_grouper_power_off_handler to make
its scope explicit. The of_machine_is_compatible() check inside the
handler itself is now redundant and is removed.
This also avoids occupying SYS_OFF_PRIO_FIRMWARE on boards that have
other handlers at that priority level.

For legacy purposes, an early PMC context is needed to support certain
drivers and functionalities. However, when the PMC driver is probed in
the later boot stages, the early context is no longer needed. Allocate
the PMC context dynamically at probe time so that it can be used going
forward.
While at it, rename the early PMC context to more accurately reflect
what it is used for. It's technically not only for early boot stages,
but also to support some code that doesn't have a way of obtaining the
correct context otherwise (e.g. no access to device tree).

Qualcomm driver updates for v7.2
Enable QSEECOM and with that access to UEFI variables on the Surface Pro
12in laptop.
Refactor the Geni Serial-Engine helper code to allow the serial engine
drivers (such as I2C) to operate on targets where power and performance
is controlled through an SCMI server instead of individual resources in
Linux.
Extend the LLCC driver to support reading its data from a System Cache
Table (SCT) in memory instead of being hard coded per platform in the
driver. Also add support for the Eliza platform.
Add support for the Hawi platform to pd-mapper.
Switch the SMEM driver to track partitions using xarray to handle the
ever growing number of hosts better.
Extend the socinfo driver with knowledge about the Nord, SM7750,
IPQ9650, and Shikra SoCs, as well as PMAU0102, PMC1020H, PMIV0102, and
PMIV0104 PMICs.
Define UBWC 3.1 and add a couple of convenient helpers in the UBWC
library for MDSS and Adreno.
Fix a memory leak in the WCNSS firmware download mechanism.

Tegra410 and Tegra241 deprecate the HIDREV register. The recommended
method is to use ARM SMCCC to retrieve the chip ID, major and minor
revisions, and platform information.
Prefer ARM SMCCC when the platform supports it; fall back to HIDREV
otherwise. Behavior on older Tegra SoCs that do not support ARM SMCCC
remains unchanged.

'u32 __iomem *' (pointer-to-iomem); use 'unsigned int' for the
timeout parameter instead of bare 'unsigned'; fix the continuation-

- Use IOMEM_ERR_PTR() in knav_queue_map_reg() instead of ERR_PTR()
when returning an error as void __iomem *.
- Annotate the firmware data array as 'const __be32 *' instead of
'u32 *', as be32_to_cpu() requires __be32 input.

The GENI Serial Engine (SE) drivers (I2C, SPI, and SERIAL) currently
manage performance levels and operating points directly. This resulting
in code duplication across drivers. such as configuring a specific level
or find and apply an OPP based on a clock frequency.
Introduce two new helper APIs, geni_se_set_perf_level() and
geni_se_set_perf_opp(), addresses this issue by providing a streamlined
method for the GENI Serial Engine (SE) drivers to find and set the OPP
based on the desired performance level, thereby eliminating redundancy.
