The GENI Serial Engine drivers (I2C, SPI, and SERIAL) currently handle
the attachment of power domains. This often leads to duplicated code
logic across different driver probe functions.
Introduce a new helper API, geni_se_domain_attach(), to centralize
the logic for attaching "power" and "perf" domains to the GENI SE
device.

Currently, core clk is handled individually in protocol drivers like
the I2C driver. Move this clock management to the common clock APIs
(geni_se_clks_on/off) that are already present in the common GENI SE
driver to maintain consistency across all protocol drivers.
Core clk is now properly managed alongside the other clocks (se->clk
and wrapper clocks) in the fundamental clock control functions,
eliminating the need for individual protocol drivers to handle this
clock separately.

The current platform driver design causes probe ordering races with
consumers (UFS, eMMC) due to ICE's dependency on SCM firmware calls. If ICE
probe fails (missing ICE SCM or DT registers), devm_of_qcom_ice_get() loops
with -EPROBE_DEFER, leaving consumers non-functional even when ICE should
be gracefully disabled. devm_of_qcom_ice_get() doesn't know if the ICE
driver probe has failed due to above reasons or it is waiting for the SCM
driver.
Moreover, there is no devlink dependency between ICE and consumer drivers
as 'qcom, ice' is not considered as a DT 'supplier'. So the consumer drivers
have no idea of when the ICE driver is going to probe.
To address these issues, store the error pointer in a global xarray with
ice node phandle as a key during probe in addition to the valid ice pointer
and synchronize both qcom_ice_probe() and of_qcom_ice_get() using a mutex.
If the xarray entry is NULL, then it implies that the driver is not
probed yet, so return -EPROBE_DEFER. If it has any error pointer, return
that error pointer directly. Otherwise, add the devlink as usual and return
the valid pointer to the consumer.
Xarray is used instead of platform drvdata, since driver core frees the
drvdata during probe failure. So it cannot be used to pass the error
pointer to the consumers.
Note that this change only fixes the standalone ICE DT node bindings and
not the ones with 'ice' range embedded in the consumer nodes, where there
is no issue.

Merge the separate early_initcall and arch_initcall functions into a
single early_initcall. This is possible thanks to commit 6e12db376b
("base: soc: Allow early registration of a single SoC device"), which
allows soc_device_register() to be called during early_initcall by
deferring the actual registration until the soc_bus is ready.

Renesas R-Car MFIS offers multiple features but most importantly
mailboxes and hwspinlocks. Because they share a common register space
and a common register unprotection mechanism, a single driver was chosen
to handle all dependencies. (MFD and auxiliary bus have been tried as
well, but they failed because of circular dependencies.)
In this first step, the driver implements common register access and a
mailbox controller. hwspinlock support will be added incrementally, once
the subsystem allows out-of-directory drivers.

A mbox rx channel is requested using mbox_request_channel_byname() in
probe. In remove callback, the rx mailbox channel is cleaned up when the
rx_chan is NULL due to incorrect condition check. The mailbox channel is
not shutdown and it can receive messages even after the device removal.
This leads to use after free. Also the channel resources are not freed.
Fix this by checking the rx_chan correctly.

The zynqmp_power driver registers handlers for suspend and subsystem
restart events using register_event(). However, the work structures
(zynqmp_pm_init_suspend_work and zynqmp_pm_init_restart_work) used by
these handlers were allocated and initialized after the registration
call.
This created a race window where, if the firmware triggered an event
immediately after registration but before allocation, the callback
(suspend_event_callback or subsystem_restart_event_callback) would
dereference a NULL pointer in work_pending(), leading to a crash.
Fix this by allocating and initializing the work structures before
registering the events.

The Allwinner H616 has two switchable peripheral SRAM regions:
- The VE SRAM is a 2 MB dedicated SRAM for the Video Engine. CPU access
to this region is enabled by default. CPU access can be disabled,
after which reads will show the same stale value for all addresses,
while writes are ignored.
The mux value for this region is different from previous generations.
- The SRAM C region is an alias of the first 128 KB of VE SRAM, plus 64
KB of DE SRAM. The latter is otherwise unaccessible from the CPU. When
CPU access is disabled, the whole region reads as zero, while writes
are ignored.
The mux value for this region is the same as on the A64 and H6.
Add data for the VE SRAM. The register values were taken from the BSP
vendor kernel.

On the H616, the SRAM C region is an alias mapping to part of the VE
SRAM (accessible in whole at a different address) and part of the DE
SRAM (otherwise unaccessible). As such both the VE and DE need to claim
this SRAM region to prevent access from the CPU.
The SRAM claim API is designed so that a "claim" routes the SRAM to the
peripheral device, disabling access from the CPU. So long as the written
register value is the same for all the claimants involved, allowing
multiple or repeated claims is trivial. This is indeed the case for all
supported SRAM regions. The only known SRAM region to have multiple
different settings is the SRAM C2 region; this can be claimed by the AE,
CE, or ACE (assumed to be AE + CE). This region is not supported, and
likely will never be needed nor supported, as there is no documentation
for the peripherals involved.
Change the SRAM region "claimed" field from a boolean to a reference
count. A claim will increment the count, while a release decreases it.
The first claim will trigger the register value write. The driver
otherwise behaves as before.

gpr_send_pkt() and pkt_router_send_svc_pkt() only send the GPR packet
they receive, without any need to actually modify it, so mark the
pointer to GPR packet as pointer to const for code safety and code
self-documentation. Several users of this interface can follow up and
also operate on pointer to const.

When ioremap() fails in qe_reset(), the global pointer qe_immr remains
NULL, leading to a subsequent NULL pointer dereference when the pointer
is accessed. Since this happens early in the boot process, a failure to
map a few bytes of I/O memory indicates a fatal error from which the
system cannot recover.
Follow the same pattern as qe_sdma_init() and panic immediately when
ioremap() fails. This avoids a silent NULL pointer dereference later
and makes the error explicit.

qmp_cdev_set_cur_state() normalizes the requested state to a boolean
(cdev_state = !!state). The existing early-return check compares
qmp_cdev->state == state, which can be wrong if state is non-boolean
(any non-zero value). Compare qmp_cdev->state against cdev_state instead,
so the check matches the effective state and avoids redundant updates.

Populate the IO pads and pins for Tegra264. Tegra264 has internal 1.8V
and 0.6V regulators that must be enabled when selecting the 1.8V mode
for the sdmmc1-hv IO pad. To support this a new 'ena_1v8' member is
added to the 'tegra_io_pad_vctrl' structure to populate the bits that
need to be set to enable these internal regulators. Although this is
enabling 1.8V (bit 1) and 0.6V (bit 2) regulators, it is simply called
'ena_1v8' because these are both enabled for 1.8V operation. Note that
these internal regulators are disabled when not using 1.8V mode.

The flag 'has_impl_33v_pwr' is now only used to determine if we need to
set the write-enable bit before we can set the bit to select if 3.3V IO
is used or not. Therefore, rename the flag to 'has_io_pad_wren' to
indicate that the SoC supports the write-enable register.

For Tegra devices, only a subset of IO pads can be configured for 1.8V
or 3.3V. Therefore, in the 'tegra_io_pad_soc' structure for Tegra SoCs
either all or most of the 'voltage' entries are set to UINT_MAX to
indicate the IO pad voltage cannot be configured. So for the majority of
IO pads this configuration is not applicable. However, refactoring the
IO pad data to move this parameter into a separate structure does not
make sense because the benefits are marginal.
Support for the Tegra264 IO pads is currently missing and the control
for configuring the voltage for the IO pads for Tegra264 has changed.
Instead of having a single register that is used for setting the IO pad
voltage for all IO pads, there is now a register associated with the
specific IO pad. For Tegra264, there is now only one IO pad that can be
configured for 1.8V or 3.3V which is the sdmmc1-hv. While we could make
this work with by adding a new SoC flag, the implementation will be a
bit cumbersome. Therefore, it now seems reasonable to refactor the IO
pad code. Hence, introduce a new 'tegra_io_pad_vctrl' structure that
contains the register offset and bit for enabling/disabling 3.3V mode
and move the existing voltage control data for supported SoCs to this
structure. This has an added benefit of simplifying the code in the
functions tegra_io_pad_get_voltage and tegra_io_pad_set_voltage.

The commit referenced in Fixes started evaluating the value of
alt_port->mux_ctrl before checking the active SVID. This led to
drm_aux_hpd_bridge_notify() no longer being called for the 'DP unplug'
case.
Perhaps somewhat interestingly, the firmware sends a notification with
SVID=DP, mux_ctrl=MUX_CTRL_STATE_NO_CONN and pin_assignment=0 on
unplug. 'pin_assignment' was previously interpreted as a bitfield
excerpt from the second byte of the DP pg_altmode payload (and stored
as an u8).
That value is used in pmic_glink_altmode_sc8280xp_notify(), decremented
by 1 (DPAM_HPD_A). Previously, this would result in an u8 underflow
that would rollover to 0xff (which prior to the Fixes patch would have
caused a pmic_glink_altmode_safe() and 'disconnected' bridge
notification). That check was removed, without a replacement.
Resolve this issue by making sure the SID=DP && mux_ctrl=NO_CONN combo
once again results in a HPD bridge notification.

smp2p v2 adds support for allowing remote processors to write outbound
smp2p items without completing the feature negotiation. This is required
for processors that start before linux to write out signals like error
and clock ready and unblock their bootup.
If a remote processor only supports v1, smp2p can version down by
mirroring the peer version during the negotiation stage.
When using smp2p version 2, the remote does not wait for the ssr ack
before setting the items. To accommodate this, set the last_value of all
the entries to 0 when SSR is detected. This forces smp2p to detect the
new values written by the remote. Because the SSR ack is skipped, the
down transition of bits is missed in smp2p version 2.

A remoteproc booted during earlier boot stages such as UEFI or the
bootloader, may need to be attached to without restarting the remoteproc
hardware. To do this the remoteproc will need to check the ready and
handover states in smp2p without an interrupt notification. Create
qcom_smp2p_start_in() to initialize the shadow state without notifying
clients because these early events happened in the past.
Add support for the .irq_get_irqchip_state callback so remoteproc can
read the current state of the fatal, ready and handover bits.

When QMAN_FQ_FLAG_DYNAMIC_FQID is set, there's a race condition between
fq_table[fq->idx] state and freeing/allocating from the pool and
WARN_ON(fq_table[fq->idx]) in qman_create_fq() gets triggered.
Indeed, we can have:
Thread A Thread B
qman_destroy_fq() qman_create_fq()
qman_release_fqid()
qman_shutdown_fq()
gen_pool_free()
-- At this point, the fqid is available again --
qman_alloc_fqid()
-- so, we can get the just-freed fqid in thread B --
fq->fqid = fqid;
fq->idx = fqid * 2;
WARN_ON(fq_table[fq->idx]);
fq_table[fq->idx] = fq;
fq_table[fq->idx] = NULL;
And adding some logs between qman_release_fqid() and
fq_table[fq->idx] = NULL makes the WARN_ON() trigger a lot more.
To prevent that, ensure that fq_table[fq->idx] is set to NULL before
gen_pool_free() is called by using smp_wmb().

The siliconid_to_name() function currently masks the input silicon ID
with 0xff00ffff, but compares it against unmasked table entries. This
causes matching to fail if the table entries contain non-zero values in
the bits covered by the mask (bits 16-23).
Update the logic to apply the 0xff00ffff mask to the table entries
during comparison. This ensures that only the relevant model and
revision bits are considered, providing a consistent match across
different manufacturing batches.

This converts some of the visually simpler cases that have been split
over multiple lines. I only did the ones that are easy to verify the
resulting diff by having just that final GFP_KERNEL argument on the next
line.
Somebody should probably do a proper coccinelle script for this, but for
me the trivial script actually resulted in an assertion failure in the
middle of the script. I probably had made it a bit _too_ trivial.
So after fighting that far a while I decided to just do some of the
syntactically simpler cases with variations of the previous 'sed'
scripts.
The more syntactically complex multi-line cases would mostly really want
whitespace cleanup anyway.
Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.
Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

The changes to the logic in the Qualcomm SMEM driver for separating
"failed to probe" from "not yet probed", did not change the
qcom_smem_is_available() function, with the result that clients sees
SMEM as always available. Clients might then proceed to interact with
SMEM in codepaths that aren't suited to cope with -EPROBE_DEFER.

Qualcomm driver fix for v6.19
The changes to the logic in the Qualcomm SMEM driver for separating
"failed to probe" from "not yet probed", did not change the
qcom_smem_is_available() function, with the result that clients sees
SMEM as always available. Clients might then proceed to interact with
SMEM in codepaths that aren't suited to cope with -EPROBE_DEFER.

Commit 7a94d5f31b ("soc: qcom: smem: better track SMEM uninitialized
state") changed the usage of __smem and init now as an error pointer
instead of NULL.
qcom_smem_is_available() wasn't updated to reflect this change and also
.qcom_smem_remove doesn't reset it on module exit.
Update both entry to reflect new handling of __smem.

The driver currently sets the handler data and the chained handler in
two separate steps. This creates a theoretical race window where an
interrupt could fire after the handler is set but before the data is
assigned, leading to a NULL pointer dereference.
Replace the two calls with irq_set_chained_handler_and_data() to set
both the handler and its data atomically under the irq_desc->lock.

Since GCE has been moved to MMINFRA in MT8196, all transactions from
MMINFRA to DRAM will have their addresses adjusted by subtracting a
mminfra_offset.
Therefore, the CMDQ helper driver needs to get the mminfra_offset value
of the SoC from cmdq_mbox_priv of cmdq_pkt and then add it to the DRAM
address when generating instructions to ensure GCE accesses the correct
DRAM address. CMDQ users can then call CMDQ helper APIs as usual.

This patch extends the cmdq_pkt_write API to support SoCs that do not
have subsys ID mapping by introducing new register write APIs:
- cmdq_pkt_write_pa() and cmdq_pkt_write_subsys() replace
cmdq_pkt_write()
- cmdq_pkt_write_mask_pa() and cmdq_pkt_write_mask_subsys() replace
cmdq_pkt_write_mask()
To ensure consistent function pointer interfaces, both
cmdq_pkt_write_pa() and cmdq_pkt_write_subsys() provide subsys and
pa_base parameters. This unifies how register writes are invoked,
regardless of whether subsys ID is supported by the device.
All GCEs support writing registers by PA (with mask) without subsys,
but this requires extra GCE instructions to convert the PA into a GCE
readable format, reducing performance compared to using subsys directly.
Therefore, subsys is preferred for register writes when available.
API documentation and function pointer declarations in cmdq_client_reg
have been updated. The original write APIs will be removed after all
CMDQ users transition to the new interfaces.

When GCE executes instructions, it typically locates the corresponding
hardware register using the subsys ID. For hardware that does not
support subsys ID, the subsys ID is set to an invalid value, and the
physical address must be used to generate GCE instructions.
The main advantage of using subsys ID is to reduce the number of
instructions. Without subsys ID, an additional `ASSIGN` instruction
is needed to assign the high bytes of the physical address, which can
impact performance if too many instructions are required. However, if
the hardware does not support subsys ID, using the physical address
is the only option to achieve the same functionality.
This commit adds a pa_base parsing flow to the cmdq_client_reg structure
to handle hardware without subsys ID support.

The warning occurs because generic_handle_irq() is being called from
a non-interrupt context which is considered as unsafe.
Fix this warning by deferring generic_handle_irq() call to an IRQ work
which gets executed in hard IRQ context where generic_handle_irq()
can be called safely.
When PREEMPT_RT kernels are used, regular IRQ work (initialized with
init_irq_work) is deferred to run in per-CPU kthreads in preemptible

variant so that with PREEMPT_RT kernels, the IRQ work is processed in
hardirq context instead of being deferred to a thread which is required
for calling generic_handle_irq().
On non-PREEMPT_RT kernels, both init_irq_work() and IRQ_WORK_INIT_HARD()
execute in IRQ context, so this change has no functional impact for
standard kernel configurations.

Merge the support for loading and managing the TrustZone-based remote
processors found in the Glymur platform through a topic branch, as it's
a mix of qcom-soc and remoteproc patches.
qcom_mdt_pas_init() was previously used only by the remoteproc driver
(drivers/remoteproc/qcom_q6v5_pas.c). Since that driver has now
transitioned to using PAS context-based qcom_mdt_pas_load() function,
making qcom_mdt_pas_init() obsolete for external use.
Removes qcom_mdt_pas_init() from the list of exported symbols and make
it static to limit its scope to internal use within mdtloader.

Introduce a new PAS context-aware function, qcom_mdt_pas_load(), for
remote processor drivers. This function utilizes the PAS context
pointer returned from qcom_scm_pas_ctx_init() to perform firmware
metadata verification and memory setup via SMC calls.
The qcom_mdt_pas_load() and qcom_mdt_load() functions are largely
similar, but the former is designed for clients using the PAS
context-based data structure. Over time, all users of qcom_mdt_load()
can be migrated to use qcom_mdt_pas_load() for consistency and
improved abstraction.
As the remoteproc PAS driver (qcom_q6v5_pas) has already adopted the
PAS context-based approach, update it to use qcom_mdt_pas_load().

handled via a separate interrupt ID and managed via a triplet of
dedicated registers hosted by the SoC.

The code, as it is, plays fast and loose with bandwidth units. It also
doesn't specify its constraints in the actual maximum hardware value,
but as some roundabout thing that then ends up multiplied into the
actual hardware value constraint after some indirections. In part, this
is due to the use of individual members for storing each limit, instead
of making it possible to index them by type.
Rework all of this by adding const array members indexed by the
bandwidth type enum to the soc_data struct. This array expresses the
actual hardware value limitations, not a factor thereof.
Use the clamp function macro to clamp the values between the minimum and
maximum constraints after all the calculations, which also means the
code doesn't write nonsense to a hardware register when the math is
wrong, as it'll constrain after all the calculations.
Pass the type as the actual enum type as well, and not as an int. If
there's some type checking that can be extracted from the function
signature, then we may as well use it.
Don't needlessly explicitly cast return values to the return type
either; this is both unnecessary and makes it harder to spot type safety
issues.
