Convert it to drm bridge driver, it will be convenient for us to
migrate the connector part to the display driver later.
Considering that some code depend on the connector, the following
changes have been made:
- Only process edid in &drm_bridge_funcs.edid_read(), so no need to
store additional edid info.
- Now cdn_dp_get_sink_capability() only focused on reading DPCD_REV.
- Update bpc info in cdn_dp_bridge_atomic_enable() instead of
cdn_dp_encoder_mode_set(). Actually, the bpc data will be used in
cdn_dp_bridge_atomic_enable().
- Switch to use DRM_BRIDGE_OP_DP_AUDIO helpers.

Each window of a vop2 is usable by a specific set of video ports, so while
binding the vop2, we look through the list of available windows trying to
find one designated as primary-plane and usable by that specific port.
The code later wants to use drm_crtc_init_with_planes with that found
primary plane, but nothing has checked so far if a primary plane was
actually found.
For whatever reason, the rk3576 vp2 does not have a usable primary window
(if vp0 is also in use) which brought the issue to light and ended in a
null-pointer dereference further down.
As we expect a primary-plane to exist for a video-port, add a check at
the end of the window-iteration and fail probing if none was found.

if the requested supply just returned EPROBE_DEFER, but there are more
possible sources - like the phy.
So modernize the whole logging in the probe path by replacing the
remaining deprecated DRM_DEV_ERROR with appropriate dev_err(_probe)
and drm_err calls.
The distinction here is that all messages talking about mishaps of the
lvds element use dev_err(_probe) while messages caused by interaction
with the main Rockchip drm-device use drm_err.

The LVDS block needs a separate pclk only on some socs, so currently
requests and prepares it in the soc-specific probe function, but common
code is required to unprepare it in the error path or on driver remove.
While this works because clk_unprepare just does nothing if clk is NULL,
this mismatch of who is responsible still is not very nice.
The clock-framework already has a helper for clk-get-and-prepare even
with devres support in devm_clk_get_prepared().
This will get and prepare the clock and also unprepare it on driver
removal, saving the driver from having to handle it "manually".

Right now vop2_cluster_init() copies the base vop2_cluster_regs
and adapts the reg value with the current window's offset before
adding the fields to the regmap.
This conflicts with the notion of reg_fields being const, see
https://lore.kernel.org/all/20240706-regmap-const-structs-v1-1-d08c776da787@weissschuh.net/
for reference, which now causes checkpatch to actually warn about that.
So instead of creating one big copy and changing it afterwards,
add the reg_fields individually using devm_regmap_field_alloc().
Functional it is the same, just that the reg_field we're handling
can stay const.

When the drm-driver probes, it mainly creates the component device, where
all the sub-drivers (vops, hdmi, etc) hook into.
This will cause the shutdown handler to get called on shutdown, even
though the drm-device might not have been set up, or the component bind
might have failed.
So use the new component helper to check whether the drm-device is up
and only then call the drm-atomic helper to release all the drm magic.
This prevents failures when the drm-device is never set, or has been
freed up already for example by a probe-defer during the component bind.

Currently, DRM atomic uAPI allows only primary planes to be flipped
asynchronously. However, each driver might be able to perform async
flips in other different plane types. To enable drivers to set their own
restrictions on which type of plane they can or cannot flip, use the
existing atomic_async_check() from struct drm_plane_helper_funcs to
enhance this flexibility, thus allowing different plane types to be able
to do async flips as well.
Create a new parameter for the atomic_async_check(), `bool flip`. This
parameter is used to distinguish when this function is being called from
a plane update from a full page flip.
In order to prevent regressions and such, we keep the current policy: we
skip the driver check for the primary plane, because it is always
allowed to do async flips on it.

The code that changes hdmi->ref_clk was accidentally copied from
downstream code that sets a different clock. We don't actually
want to set any clock here at all.
Setting this clock incorrectly leads to incorrect timings for
DDC, CEC, and HDCP signal generation.
No Fixes listed, as the theoretical timing error in DDC appears to
still be within tolerances and harmless - and HDCP and CEC are not
yet supported.

The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and
is really not helping. Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member
function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a
comment to that effect:
/*
* .remove_new() is a relic from a prototype conversion of .remove().
* New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are
* converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped.
*/
This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with
'.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs
to make things line up.
I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used
spaces to line things up.
Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this
is the end result. No more unnecessary conversion noise.

Add support for gamma LUT in VOP2 driver. The implementation was inspired
by one found in VOP1 driver. Blue and red channels in gamma LUT register
write were swapped with respect to how gamma LUT values are written in
VOP1. Gamma LUT port selection was added before the write of new gamma LUT
table.
If the current SoC is rk356x, check if no other CRTC has gamma LUT enabled
in atomic_check (only one video port can use gamma LUT at a time) and
disable gamma LUT before the LUT table write.
If the current SoC isn't rk356x, "seamless" gamma lut update is performed
similarly to how it was done in the case of RK3399 in VOP1[1]. In seamless
update gamma LUT disable before the write isn't necessary, check if no
other CRTC has gamma LUT enabled is also not necessary, different register
is being used to select gamma LUT port[2] and after setting DSP_LUT_EN bit,
GAMMA_UPDATE_EN bit is set[3].
Gamma size is set and drm color management is enabled for each video port's
CRTC except ones which have no associated device.
Patch was tested on RK3566 (Pinetab2). When using userspace tools
which set eg. constant color temperature no issues were noticed. When
using userspace tools which adjust eg. color temperature the slight screen
flicker is visible probably because of gamma LUT disable needed in the
case of RK356x before gamma LUT write.
Compare behaviour of eg.:
```
gammastep -O 3000
```
To eg.:
```
gammastep -l 53:23 -t 6000:3000
```
In latter case color temperature is slowly adjusted at the beginning which
causes screen to slighly flicker. Then it adjusts every few seconds which
also causes slight screen flicker.

The code for detecting and updating the connector status in
cdn_dp_pd_event_work() has a number of problems.
- It does not aquire the locks to call the detect helper and update
the connector status. These are struct drm_mode_config.connection_mutex
and struct drm_mode_config.mutex.
- It does not use drm_helper_probe_detect(), which helps with the
details of locking and detection.
- It uses the connector's status field to determine a change to
the connector status. The epoch_counter field is the correct one. The
field signals a change even if the connector status' value did not
change.
Replace the code with a call to drm_connector_helper_hpd_irq_event(),
which fixes all these problems.

However, on RK3288 and PX30 VOPB is gets registered as crtc-0 instead of

With VOPL registered as crtc-0 the kernel kms client is not able to

The previous tables for mpll_cfg and curr_ctrl were created using the
20-pages of example settings provided by the PHY vendor. Those
example settings weren't particularly dense, so there were places
where we were guessing what the settings would be for 10-bit and
12-bit (not that we use those anyway). It was also always a lot of
extra work every time we wanted to add a new clock rate since we had
to cross-reference several tables.
In <https://crrev.com/c/285855> I've gone through the work to figure
out how to generate this table automatically. Let's now use the
automatically generated table and then we'll never need to look at it
again.
We only support 8-bit mode right now and only support a small number
of clock rates and I've verified that the only 8-bit rate that was
affected was 148.5. That mode appears to have been wrong in the old
table.

Jitter was improved by lowering the MPLL bandwidth to account for high
frequency noise in the rk3288 PLL. In each case MPLL bandwidth was
lowered only enough to get us a comfortable margin. We believe that
lowering the bandwidth like this is safe given sufficient testing.

Dut to the high HDMI signal voltage driver, Mickey have meet
a serious RF/EMI problem, so we decided to reduce HDMI signal
voltage to a proper value.
The default params for phy is cklvl = 20 & txlvl = 13 (RF/EMI failed)
ck: lvl = 13, term=100, vlo = 2.71, vhi=3.14, vswing = 0.43
tx: lvl = 20, term=100, vlo = 2.81, vhi=3.16, vswing = 0.35
1. We decided to reduce voltage value to lower, but VSwing still
keep high, RF/EMI have been improved but still failed.
ck: lvl = 6, term=100, vlo = 2.61, vhi=3.11, vswing = 0.50
tx: lvl = 6, term=100, vlo = 2.61, vhi=3.11, vswing = 0.50
2. We try to keep voltage value and vswing both lower, then RF/EMI
test all passed ;)
ck: lvl = 11, term= 66, vlo = 2.68, vhi=3.09, vswing = 0.40
tx: lvl = 11, term= 66, vlo = 2.68, vhi=3.09, vswing = 0.40
When we back to run HDMI different test and single-end test, we see
different test passed, but signle-end test failed. The oscilloscope
show that simgle-end clock's VL value is 1.78v (which remind LowLimit
should not lower then 2.6v).
3. That's to say there are some different between PHY document and
measure value. And according to experiment 2 results, we need to
higher clock voltage and lower data voltage, then we can keep RF/EMI
satisfied and single-end & differen test passed.
ck: lvl = 9, term=100, vlo = 2.65, vhi=3.12, vswing = 0.47
tx: lvl = 16, term=100, vlo = 2.75, vhi=3.15, vswing = 0.39

RK3228 and RK3328 clock rate is being validated against a mpll config
table intended for a Synopsys phy, and not the used inno-hdmi-phy.
Instead get a reference to the hdmiphy clk and validate rates against
it to enable use of HDMI2.0 modes, e.g. 4K@60Hz, on RK3228 and RK3328.
For Synopsis phy the max_tmds_clock validation is sufficient.

Commit <421be3ee36a4> ("drm/rockchip: Refactor IOMMU initialisation") has
refactored rockchip_drm_init_iommu() to pass a device that the domain is
allocated for. Replace iommu_domain_alloc() with
iommu_paging_domain_alloc() to retire the former.

to the drm/display and add necessary Kconfig selection clauses.

Add max_tmds_clock validation to prepare for additions and changes to
the MPLL config table. Use the same rate restrictions that is currently
applied.
The rate limit for RK3288, RK3399 and RK3568 is based on current mpll
table. The rate limit for RK3228 and RK3328 is based on the
inno-hdmi-phy pre-pll table.

EDID cannot be read on RK3328 until after read_hpd has been called and
correct io voltage has been configured based on connection status.
When a forced mode is used, e.g. video=1920x1080@60e, the connector
detect ops, that in turn normally calls the read_hpd, never gets called.
This result in reading EDID to fail in connector get_modes ops.
Call dw_hdmi_rk3328_read_hpd at end of dw_hdmi_rk3328_setup_hpd to
correct io voltage and allow reading EDID after setup_hpd.

There is no reason to limit VOP scaling to 3840px width, the limit of

The mpll_cfg, cur_ctr and phy_config members in struct dw_hdmi_plat_data
are only used to configure the Synopsys PHYs supported internally by DW
HDMI transmitter driver (gpu/drm/bridge/synopsys/dw-hdmi.c), via
hdmi_phy_configure_dwc_hdmi_3d_tx(), which is further invoked from
dw_hdmi_phy_init(). This is part of the internal
dw_hdmi_synopsys_phy_ops struct, managed within dw_hdmi_detect_phy().
To handle vendor PHYs, DW HDMI driver doesn't make use of the internal
PHY ops and, instead, relies on the glue layer to provide the phy_ops
and phy_name members of struct dw_hdmi_plat_data.
Drop the unnecessary assignments of DW internal PHY related members from
structs rk3228_hdmi_drv_data and rk3328_hdmi_drv_data, since both set
the phy_force_vendor flag and correctly provide the expected vendor PHY
data.

The RK3066 VOP sets a dma_stop bit when it's done scanning out a frame
and needs the driver to acknowledge that by clearing the bit.
Unless we clear it "between" frames, the RGB output only shows noise
instead of the picture. atomic_flush is the place for it that least
affects other code (doing it on vblank would require converting all
other usages of the reg_lock to spin_(un)lock_irq, which would affect
performance for everyone).
This seems to be a redundant synchronization mechanism that was removed
in later iterations of the VOP hardware block.

This reverts commit c0e0f13935, as helper
code should always be selected by the driver that needs it, for the
convenience of the final user configuring a kernel.
The user who configures a kernel should not need to know which helpers
are needed for the driver he is interested in. Making a driver depend

For the cbcr format, gt2 and gt4 are computed again after src_h has been
divided by vsub.
As src_h as already been divided by 2 before, introduce cbcr_src_h and
cbcr_src_w to keep a copy of those values to be used for cbcr gt2 and
gt4 computation.

In both cases, the problem is that ROCKCHIP_CDN_DP and DRM_EXYNOS_DP
are 'bool' symbols that depend on the the 'tristate' DRM_DISPLAY_HELPER

but the helper is in a loadable module.
Use the same trick that DRM_ROCKCHIP already uses for the EXTCON

introduced a variable which ended up being unused:
rockchip_drm_vop2.c:1688:23: warning: variable ‘if_dclk_rate’ set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable]
This has been initially used as part of a formula to compute the clock

generated.

In contrast to RK3036, RK312x SoCs have multiple output channels such as
RGB (i.e. LVDS TTL), LVDS, DSI and HDMI.
In order to support that, this splits output from RK3036 and defines an
separate one for RK3126 with the registers required to enable the
appropriate output and setup the correct polarity.

Marek Report a possible irq lock inversion dependency warning when
commit 81a06f1d02 ("Revert "drm/rockchip: vop2: Use regcache_sync()
to fix suspend/resume"") lands linux-next.
I can reproduce this warning with:
CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING=y
CONFIG_DEBUG_LOCKDEP=y
It seems than when use regmap_reinit_cache at runtime whith Mark's
commit 3d59c22bbb ("drm/rockchip: vop2: Convert to use maple tree
register cache"), it will trigger a possible irq lock inversion dependency
warning.
One solution is switch back to REGCACHE_RBTREE, but it seems that
REGCACHE_MAPLE is the future, so I avoid using regmap_reinit_cache,
and drop all the regcache when vop is disabled, then we get a fresh
start at next enbable time.

regcache_sync will try to reload the configuration in regcache to
hardware, but the registers of 4 Cluster windows and Esmart1/2/3 on

power on.
Also it's better to keep the hardware register as it is before we really
enable it.
