d72aa5cf04 drm/rockchip: rk3066_hdmi: Add missing Kconfig selects
rk3066_hdmi.c calls drm_bridge_connector_init(), but
ROCKCHIP_RK3066_HDMI selects neither DRM_BRIDGE_CONNECTOR nor
DRM_DISPLAY_HELPER, whose module carries the bridge-connector code. A
configuration with ROCKCHIP_RK3066_HDMI as the only enabled Rockchip
output option fails to link:

  aarch64-linux-gnu-ld: drivers/gpu/drm/rockchip/rk3066_hdmi.o: in function `rk3066_hdmi_bind':
  rk3066_hdmi.c:(.text+0x7a4): undefined reference to `drm_bridge_connector_init'
  aarch64-linux-gnu-ld: drivers/gpu/drm/rockchip/rk3066_hdmi.o: in function `rk3066_hdmi_bridge_atomic_enable':
  rk3066_hdmi.c:(.text+0xe74): undefined reference to `drm_atomic_helper_connector_hdmi_update_infoframes'

Select both, like ROCKCHIP_CDN_DP, ROCKCHIP_LVDS and ROCKCHIP_RGB do.
DRM_BRIDGE_CONNECTOR in turn selects DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_STATE_HELPER,
which resolves the second symbol.

c83e3e806d drm/rockchip: dw_dp: Select DRM_BRIDGE_CONNECTOR
dw_dp-rockchip.c calls drm_bridge_connector_init(), but ROCKCHIP_DW_DP
does not select DRM_BRIDGE_CONNECTOR. A configuration with
ROCKCHIP_DW_DP as the only enabled Rockchip output option fails to
link:

  aarch64-linux-gnu-ld: drivers/gpu/drm/rockchip/dw_dp-rockchip.o: in function `dw_dp_rockchip_bind':
  dw_dp-rockchip.c:(.text+0x1d4): undefined reference to `drm_bridge_connector_init'

Five other Rockchip encoder options that call
drm_bridge_connector_init() (ROCKCHIP_ANALOGIX_DP, ROCKCHIP_CDN_DP,
ROCKCHIP_DW_HDMI_QP, ROCKCHIP_LVDS, ROCKCHIP_RGB) already select it,
which masks the gap in any configuration that enables one of them.
ROCKCHIP_INNO_HDMI is covered through its DRM_INNO_HDMI core option.

The same change was posted by Marius Dinu in March and dropped when
the failure stopped reproducing in his build. The failure is
configuration-dependent - any other enabled option that selects
DRM_BRIDGE_CONNECTOR hides it - and it still reproduces on current
drm-misc-next with the configuration described above.

Select DRM_BRIDGE_CONNECTOR like the other users do.

bc69439d98 drm/rockchip: analogix_dp: fix unchecked bound endpoint name length
rockchip_dp_drm_encoder_enable() uses sprintf() to format a device tree
path into a 32-byte stack buffer. Device tree paths are not limited to
this size, so a sufficiently long path can overflow the buffer.

Use snprintf() with the destination size to truncate the generated name
and keep the writes within bounds.

a2fdfd0080 mm: introduce vma_get_page_prot() and use it
There's a large number of vm_get_page_prot(vma->vm_flags) invocations.
Make life easier by introducing vma_get_page_prot() parameterised by the
VMA.

This also makes converting vm_get_page_prot() to vma_flags_t easier.

Also update the userland VMA tests to reflect the change.

No functional change intended.

b71a623598 drm/panel: of_drm_find_panel() return a counted reference
Callers of of_drm_find_panel() and drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge()
receive a pointer with no reference held, creating a window where
the panel device can be unregistered and freed between the lookup
and first use (e.g., drm_panel_prepare()).

Fix the lookup function by acquiring a reference with drm_panel_get()
before returning, under panel_lock. Callers are now responsible for
calling drm_panel_put() when they no longer need the pointer.

For bridge drivers that immediately wrap the panel in a panel_bridge
(which acquires its own reference), release the lookup reference right
after the bridge creation call.

For analogix-anx6345, which stores the panel for direct use, release
the reference in the i2c remove path.

For platform drivers using analogix_dp_core with a component lifecycle
(exynos_dp, rockchip analogix_dp), release the lookup reference in the
platform remove() function. The panel_bridge created during bind() holds
a separate reference that devm cleanup releases after remove() returns.

Also fix devm_drm_of_get_bridge() and drmm_of_get_bridge() in
bridge/panel.c itself, update a second batch of drivers calling
of_drm_find_panel() or drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge() to release the
lookup reference after wrapping the panel in a bridge, and handle the
cases where a panel is found but cannot be used, dropping the reference
immediately in those paths.

640c55fc14 drm/rockchip: Remove dependency on DRM simple helpers
Simple KMS helper are deprecated since they only add an intermediate
layer between drivers and the atomic modesetting.
This patch removes the drm_simple_encoder_init() helper usage in the
rockchip drivers by open coding it and using the encoder atomic helpers
directly. This is a step to eventually get rid of this simple KMS helper,
once all drivers that use it have been converted.

a18aa0dd7a drm/rockchip: dw_hdmi_qp: Implement "color format" DRM property
Switch between requested color formats by setting the right bus formats,
configuring the VO GRF registers, and setting the right output mode.

To do this, the encoder's atomic_check queries the bus format of the
first bridge, which was determined by the bridge chain recursive format
selection. Pick the input format if it's !FIXED, otherwise, pick the
output format.

The previously unused GRF register color format defines are redone as
well. Both RK3588 and RK3576 use the same defines; it didn't look like
this as there was a typo in the previously (unused) definition.

d1ad644e57 drm/rockchip: vop2: Wait for layer cfg done before switching LAYERSEL_REGDONE_SEL
LAYERSEL_REGDONE_SEL mask of RK3568_OVL_CTRL register controls which
Video Port (VP) vsync latches the shared RK3568_OVL_{LAYER|PORT}_SEL
shadow registers into the active configuration.

rk3568_vop2_setup_layer_mixer() overwrites LAYERSEL_REGDONE_SEL to the
current VP ID before waiting for the previous VP layer configuration to
take effect. As a consequence, the previous VP vsync can no longer
trigger the latch, so the wait polls a value that might never appear.

Move the layer cfg done wait before the RK3568_OVL_CTRL write so the
previous VP vsync can still commit the pending configuration.

9f5670802d drm/rockchip: vop2: Fix wrong wait target in layer cfg done check
rk3568_vop2_setup_layer_mixer() waits for the previous Video Port (VP)
layer configuration to take effect before writing a new one to the
shared RK3568_OVL_LAYER_SEL shadow register. However, it passes
vop2->old_layer_sel to rk3568_vop2_wait_for_layer_cfg_done() as the
expected value, which at that point already contains the new VP layer.

This causes the wait to poll for a value that has not been written to
the shadow register yet, resulting in spurious timeouts when two
non-blocking atomic commits race:

  rockchip-drm display-subsystem: [drm] *ERROR* wait layer cfg done timeout [...]

Pass the local old_layer_sel instead, which still holds the value
captured from vop2->old_layer_sel before it was overwritten, i.e. the
previous VP target that the hardware is expected to latch.

9392e7340b drm/rockchip: dw_hdmi: avoid direct dereference of phy->dev.of_node
The dw_hdmi-rockchip driver validates pixel clock rates against the
HDMI PHY's internal clock provider on certain SoCs like RK3328.
This is currently achieved by dereferencing hdmi->phy->dev.of_node
to obtain the provider node, which violates the Generic PHY API's
encapsulation (the goal is for struct phy to be an opaque pointer
with a hidden definition, to be interacted with only using API
functions or NULL pointer checks, for the case where optional variants
of phy_get() did not find a PHY).

Refactor dw_hdmi_rockchip_bind() to perform a manual phandle lookup
on the "hdmi" PHY index within the controller's DT node. This provides
a parallel path to the clock provider's OF node without relying on the
internal structure of the struct phy handle.

5164f7e7ff drm: Rename struct drm_atomic_state to drm_atomic_commit
The KMS framework uses two slightly different definitions for the state
concept. For a given object (plane, CRTC, encoder, etc., so
drm_$OBJECT_state), the state is the entire state of that object.
However, at the device level, drm_atomic_state refers to a state update
for a limited number of objects.

Thus, drm_atomic_state isn't the entire device state, but only the full
state of some objects in that device. This has been an endless source of
confusion and thus bugs.

We can rename the drm_atomic_state structure to drm_atomic_commit to
make it less confusing.

This patch was created using:

rg -l drm_atomic_state | \
	xargs sed -i 's/drm_atomic_state/drm_atomic_commit/g; s/drm_atomic_commit_helper/drm_atomic_state_helper/g'
mv drivers/gpu/drm/tests/drm_atomic_state_test.c drivers/gpu/drm/tests/drm_atomic_commit_test.c
