The current implementation of rzg2l_cru_fill_hw_slot() results in the
artificial loss of frames. At present whenever a frame-complete IRQ
is received the driver fills the hardware slot that was just written
to with the address of the next buffer in the driver's queue. If the
queue is empty, that hardware slot's address is set to the address of
the scratch buffer to enable the capture loop to keep running. There
is a minimum of a two-frame delay before that slot will be written to
however, and in the intervening period userspace may queue more
buffers which could be used.
To resolve the issue rework rzg2l_cru_fill_hw_slot() so that it
iteratively fills all slots from the queue which currently do not
have a buffer assigned, until the queue is empty. The scratch
buffer is only resorted to in the event that the queue is empty and
the next slot that will be written to does not already have a buffer
assigned.

Buffers are programmed into slots in queueing order.
When returning pending buffers we can't simply start from the first slot
but we should actually iterate slots starting from the one is use. The
rzg3e_cru_irq() handler already uses 'active_slot', make rzg2l_cru_irq()
use it as well to know where to start iterating from.
As the pattern of iterating over slots in order will be used for slots
programming in the next patches, provide an helper macro to do that.
While at it, rename return_unused_buffers() to rzg2l_cru_return_buffers().

The CRU cycles over the hardware slots where the destination address for
the next frame has to be programmed.
The RZ/G2L version of the IP has a register that tells which is the
last used slot by the hardware but, unfortunately, such register is not
available on RZ/G3E and RZ/V2H(P).
The driver currently compares the value of the AMnMADRSL/H register
which report "the memory address which the current video data was
written to" and compares it with the address programmed in the slots.
This heuristic requires a bit of book keeping and proper locking. As the
driver handles the FrameEnd interrupt, it's way easier to keep track
of the slot that has been used by ourselves with a driver variable.

Split the locking between a spinlock dedicated to protect the hardware
slots programming (hw_lock) and one lock (qlock) to protect the queue of
buffers submitted by userspace.
Do not rework the locking strategy yet but start simply by splitting the
locking in two.

The CRU driver uses a single spinlock to protect the buffers queue and
the hardware operations.
This single spinlock is held for the whole duration of the interrupt
handler, causing all other driver's operations to freeze.
Under heavy system stress conditions with userspace not providing
buffers fast enough, this causes loss of frames.
Prepare to re-work the driver locking by introducing (but not using yet)
a new spinlock to protect the hardware registers programming.

The start/stop streaming routines do not need to lock the whole function
body against possible concurrent accesses to the CRU buffers or hardware
registers.
The stop function starts by disabling interrupts, and only this portion
needs to be protected not to race against a possible IRQ.
Once interrupts are disabled, nothing in the video device driver can race
and once the peripheral has been disabled we can release all pending
buffers.

On RZ/G3E the CRU driver relies on the frame end interrupt to detect the
completion of an active frame transfer when stopping DMA.
Update the driver to enable only frame end interrupts (CRUnIE2_FExE),
dropping the usage of the frame start interrupts, which is not required
for this operations flow.
Fix the interrupt status handling in the DMA stopping state by checking
the correct frame end status bits (FExS) instead of the frame start one
(FSxS). Add a dedicated CRUnINTS2_FExS() macro to reflect the actual
register bit layout and drop the now unused CRUnIE2_FSxE() and
CRUnINTS2_FSxS() macros.
This ensures that DMA stopping is triggered by the intended frame end
events and avoids incorrect interrupt handling.

When the CRU is configured to use ICnSVC for virtual channel mapping,
as on the RZ/{G3E, V2H/P} SoC, the ICnMC register must not be
programmed.
Return early after setting up ICnSVC to avoid overriding the ICnMC
register, which is not applicable in this mode.
This prevents unintended register programming when ICnSVC is enabled.

The LM3559 is very similar to the LM3560, but it operates at much lower
currents. This may result in incorrect current selection if LM3560 ranges
are applied to the LM3559. Implement driver data matching to use
device-specific current configurations.
Since the driver no longer supports platform data and device configuration
is performed more granularly, move the remaining enums from the header
into the driver file and remove the header.

Add support for power management features to better control the LM3560
within the media framework. To achieve the desired PM support, the HWEN
GPIO and VIN power supply were added and configured into power on/off
sequences. Added PM operations along with the PM configuration setup.

Since there are no users of this driver via platform data, remove the
platform data support and switch to using Device Tree bindings.
Converting to Device Tree assumes dynamic and independent registration of
LEDs. To monitor the configured LEDs, a bitmap has been added. This makes
LED cleanup more robust and less context dependent.

Pass the device's own mutex lock to the control handler so that the media
framework can handle control access instead of managing it manually. The
lock must be common to both sub-devices since they share same hardware,
so the individual sub-device locks will not work here.

The existing driver does not call media subdev registration, making it
invisible to the media framework. Since the LM3560 supports two
independent LEDs, register each LED as a separate media entity.
Because registering LEDs before device initialization may cause access
attempts before the hardware is ready, lm3560_init_device has been moved
before the subdevice initializations.
An additional helper, lm3560_subdev_cleanup, was added to release LED0 if
the initialization of LED1 fails, and to deregister both LEDs in the
remove function.

The vb2 framework hands buffers to the driver via buf_queue() before
calling start_streaming(). If start_streaming() returns an error
without first returning those buffers via vb2_buffer_done(),
vb2_start_streaming() fires WARN_ON(owned_by_drv_count) and the queued
buffers leak.
sun4i_csi_start_streaming() returned -EINVAL when no matching CSI
format could be found, before any setup (scratch buffer allocation,
pipeline start) had been performed. The remaining error paths already
converge on the err_clear_dma_queue label, which calls
return_all_buffers(..., VB2_BUF_STATE_QUEUED) under csi->qlock. Jump
to that label directly: the intermediate err_disable_device /
err_disable_pipeline / err_free_scratch_buffer labels are skipped,
which is correct because nothing they would undo has happened yet.

The vb2 framework hands buffers to the driver via buf_queue() before
calling start_streaming(). If start_streaming() returns an error
without first returning those buffers via vb2_buffer_done(),
vb2_start_streaming() fires WARN_ON(owned_by_drv_count) and the queued
buffers leak.
rtl2832_sdr_start_streaming() had multiple error paths that hit this
trap: two direct early returns (-ENODEV, -ERESTARTSYS), plus six
`goto err` paths covering subdev s_power, tuner setup, ADC setup,
stream-buffer allocation, urb allocation, and urb submission failures.
None of them returned the queued buffers.
The original function had no distinct success exit and fell straight
through into the err label, which previously only did mutex_unlock and
"return ret". Adding queued-buffer cleanup at err must therefore be
paired with an explicit success return; otherwise every successful
start would also drain the buffer queue and kill streaming. Add that
success return, then add rtl2832_sdr_cleanup_queued_bufs() at the err
label and before each early return.
The cleanup helper takes a vb2_buffer_state argument so that the
start_streaming error paths can pass VB2_BUF_STATE_QUEUED (as
expected by userspace on start_streaming failure) while stop_streaming
keeps its existing VB2_BUF_STATE_ERROR semantics.
This mirrors the uvcvideo fix in commit 4cf3b6fd54 ("media: uvcvideo:
Return queued buffers on start_streaming() failure").
The err label still does not roll back power_ctrl(), frontend_ctrl(),
the POWER_ON flag, or stream/URB allocations that may have happened
before the failing step. Those are pre-existing leaks of a different
class and are not addressed here.

msi2500_start_streaming() had five error paths that all hit this trap
and were further tangled by ret-overwriting between calls:
- -ENODEV when the USB device was already disconnected
- -ERESTARTSYS when mutex_lock_interruptible() was interrupted
- msi2500_set_usb_adc() failure: ret was silently overwritten by
the next call (msi2500_isoc_init), so the error was lost entirely
- msi2500_isoc_init() failure: cleanup_queued_bufs was called, but
the function then fell through to msi2500_ctrl_msg() and again
masked the original error by overwriting ret
- msi2500_ctrl_msg(CMD_START_STREAMING) failure: no cleanup at all,
leaving isoc URBs submitted with no way for the driver to consume
them
Consolidate the error paths into a small goto chain. Every failure
now stops the function, drains the queued-buffer list, and returns
the real error code. The ctrl_msg failure path also rolls back the
preceding msi2500_isoc_init() via msi2500_isoc_cleanup() before
unlocking and draining.
The cleanup helper takes a vb2_buffer_state argument so that the
start_streaming error paths can pass VB2_BUF_STATE_QUEUED (as
expected by userspace on start_streaming failure) while stop_streaming
keeps its existing VB2_BUF_STATE_ERROR semantics.
This mirrors the uvcvideo fix in commit 4cf3b6fd54 ("media: uvcvideo:

Queued buffers are added to the tail of vid_cap_active in
buffer_queue(), but the capture kthread also retrieves buffers from
the tail of the list.
This makes the queue behave as LIFO instead of FIFO when multiple
buffers are queued.
Fix this by retrieving buffers from the head of the list.

vb2_video_unregister_device() should be used instead of
video_unregister_device() during driver removal.

If the fixed minor ranges are not properly set we could end up in a
situation where the calculated minor is invalid. Add a check for this in
the code to make it more robust.
This check also fixes the following false positive smatch warning:

tegra_get_format_fourcc_by_idx() returns a u32 but uses -EINVAL to
signal an out-of-bounds index. This results in a large unsigned
value being returned, which may be interpreted as a valid fourcc.
Returning 0 is not a valid fourcc either. This condition should
never happen, so use WARN_ON_ONCE() to catch unexpected out-of-bounds
access and return a valid fallback format instead.

Add an in-tree AVMatrix HWS PCIe capture driver. The driver supports
up to four HDMI inputs and exposes the video capture path through
V4L2 with vb2-dma-contig streaming, DV timings, and per-input
controls. Audio support is intentionally omitted from this
submission.
This patch also adds the MAINTAINERS entry for the new driver.
This driver is derived from a GPL out-of-tree driver.

DV_RX_POWER_PRESENT is intentionally left unsupported in this revision
because current hardware evidence does not expose a validated
receiver-side power-detect signal distinct from active video presence.

In preparation to adding support for several firmware revisions to be
used for a platform, extract the firmware description data. It
incorporates firmware name, HFI ops and buffer requirements of the
particular firmware build.

The linux-firmware is providing the vpuNN_pM.mbn firmware for SM8250
since August of 2024. Stop using the legacy firmware name
(vpu-1.0/venus.mbn) and switch to the standard firmware name schema
(vpu/vpu20_p4.mbn).

Having firmware-related fields in platform data results in the tying
platform data to the HFI firmware data rather than the actual hardware.
For example, SM8450 uses Gen2 firmware, so currently its platform data
should be placed next to the other gen2 platforms, although it has the
VPU2.0 core, similar to the one found on SM8250 and SC7280 and so the
hardware-specific platform data is also close to those devices.
Split firmware data to a separate struct, separating hardware-related
data from the firmware interfaces.

The get_instance() is a callback tightly connected to the HFI
implementation. Move it into the new iris_hfi_sys_ops structure, merging
all core callbacks into a single vtable.

Calling HFI instance-specific ops should not require double indirection
through the core ops. Split instance-specific ops to a separate struct,
keep a pointer to it in struct iris_inst and set it directly in the
get_instance function.

To note that iris_set_num_comv() is gen2-internal, rename it to
iris_hfi_gen2_set_num_comv() and then stop using hfi_ops indirection to
set session property (like other functions in this file do).

The set_preset_registers is (currently) common to all supported devices.
Extract it to a iris_vpu_common.c and call it directly from
iris_vpu_power_on(). Later, if any of the devices requires special
handling, it can be sorted out separately.
