44e151be23 accel/ivpu: prevent uninitialized data bug in debugfs
The simple_write_to_buffer() will only initialize data starting from
the *pos offset so if it's non-zero then the first part of the buffer
uninitialized. Really, if *pos is non-zero then this code won't work
so just check for that at the start of the function.

0d8e8229f0 accel/ivpu: Document why full JSM message size is always used
Firmware expects IPC messages to always carry the full fixed
sizeof(struct vpu_jsm_msg) size. Sending the full struct also
ensures unused fields are zeroed, which maintains compatibility
when existing commands are extended with new fields in the future.

Replace the misleading TODO comment with an explanation of the
actual intent.

f706e6a4ce accel/rocket: fix UAF via dangling GEM handle in create_bo
rocket_ioctl_create_bo() inserts a GEM handle into the file's IDR via
drm_gem_handle_create() early on, then performs several operations that
can fail (sgt allocation, drm_mm insert, iommu_map). If any fail after
the handle is live, the error path calls drm_gem_shmem_object_free()
which kfree's the object without removing the handle from the IDR.

This leaves a dangling handle pointing to freed slab memory. Any
subsequent ioctl using that handle (PREP_BO, FINI_BO, SUBMIT) calls
drm_gem_object_lookup() and dereferences freed memory (UAF).

Fix by moving drm_gem_handle_create() to after all fallible operations
succeed, matching the pattern used by panfrost, lima, and etnaviv.

Also fix drm_mm_insert_node_generic() whose return value was silently
overwritten by iommu_map_sgtable() on the next line. Add the missing
error check.

7455a0583a accel/ivpu: Add support for limiting NPU frequency
Add configurable frequency limits to allow users to constrain the NPU
operating frequency range for power and thermal management. This support
requires firmware API version 3.34.0 or newer.

New sysfs interface:

The freq/ subdirectory contains the following attributes:

- hw_min_freq: Minimum frequency supported by hardware (read-only)
- hw_max_freq: Maximum frequency supported by hardware (read-only)
- hw_efficient_freq: Hardware's optimal operating frequency (read-only)
- current_freq: Current NPU frequency in MHz (read-only)
- set_min_freq: Configure minimum operating frequency (50XX+ devices)
- set_max_freq: Configure maximum operating frequency (50XX+ devices)

Legacy attributes npu_max_frequency_mhz and npu_current_frequency_mhz
are maintained for backward compatibility.

Implementation details:

- Frequency configuration is communicated to firmware via JSM messages
- User-specified frequency values are clamped to hardware limits
- Power-efficient frequency (pn_ratio) is adjusted dynamically to stay
  within the configured range
- Frequency configuration is initialized during device boot
- The JSM API header is updated to version 3.34.0 to support the new
  VPU_JSM_MSG_FREQ_CONFIG firmware message

432fafdc9a accel/amdxdna: Fix memory leak in amdxdna_iommu_alloc()
In amdxdna_iommu_alloc(), if iommu_map() fails after successfully
allocating both iova and cpu_addr, the code jumps to free_iova
which only frees the iova, leaking the allocated pages.

6771275b4c accel/amdxdna: Add hardware scheduler time quantum support
Add support for configuring the hardware scheduler time quantum to
improve fairness across concurrent contexts.

The scheduler enforces a fixed time slice per context, preventing
long-running workloads from monopolizing the device and allowing
other contexts to make forward progress.

The default time quantum is 30ms and can be configured via the
time_quantum_ms module parameter.

2d1e82f122 accel/amdxdna: Fix fatal_error_info layout in firmware interface
Adjust struct fatal_error_info to match the expected driver/firmware
interface layout.

The structure is used to retrieve debug information from firmware when
a command becomes stuck on the device. The reserved field currently
uses 128 u32 entries, which makes the structure larger than intended
and causes the layout to no longer match the firmware definition.

Reduce the reserved array size from 128 to 127 entries so the
structure matches the expected interface format.

c83ad8ea6b accel/amdxdna: Fix order of canceled mailbox messages
Mailbox message IDs are allocated cyclically. When destroying a mailbox
channel, pending messages are canceled starting from message ID 0. This
results in an incorrect cancellation order when the ID of the last posted

message.

Fix this by canceling pending messages starting from the next available
message ID, ensuring the correct ordering across wraparound.

e0169d0c69 accel/amdxdna: Expose per-client BO memory usage via fdinfo
Implement amdxdna_show_fdinfo() to report per-client memory usage,
including below driver-specific memory stat:
  - heap allocation
  - internal BO allocation
  - external BO allocation

Hook the implementation into the DRM fdinfo infrastructure via
drm_driver.show_fdinfo, while continuing to expose standard DRM
memory stat through drm_show_memory_stats().

This improves observability of per-process memory usage and aligns
with existing fdinfo reporting mechanisms used by other drivers.

2feec5ae5d accel/qaic: Handle DBC deactivation if the owner went away
When a DBC is released, the device sends a QAIC_TRANS_DEACTIVATE_FROM_DEV
transaction to the host over the QAIC_CONTROL MHI channel. QAIC handles
this by calling decode_deactivate() to release the resources allocated for
that DBC. Since that handling is done in the qaic_manage_ioctl() context,
if the user goes away before receiving and handling the deactivation, the
host will be out-of-sync with the DBCs available for use, and the DBC
resources will not be freed unless the device is removed. If another user
loads and requests to activate a network, then the device assigns the same
DBC to that network, QAIC will "indefinitely" wait for dbc->in_use = false,
leading the user process to hang.

As a solution to this, handle QAIC_TRANS_DEACTIVATE_FROM_DEV transactions
that are received after the user has gone away.

1f513a3ec3 accel/amdxdna: Add per-process BO memory usage query support
Add support for querying per-process buffer object (BO) memory
usage through the amdxdna GET_ARRAY UAPI.

Introduce a new query type, DRM_AMDXDNA_BO_USAGE, along with
struct amdxdna_drm_bo_usage to report BO memory usage statistics,
including heap, total, and internal usage.

Track BO memory usage on a per-client basis by maintaining counters
in GEM open/close and heap allocation/free paths. This ensures the
reported statistics reflect the current memory footprint of each
process.

Wire the new query into the GET_ARRAY implementation to expose
the usage information to userspace.

d76856beb4 accel/amdxdna: Refactor GEM BO handling and add helper APIs for address retrieval
Refactor amdxdna GEM buffer object (BO) handling to simplify address
management and unify BO type semantics.

Introduce helper APIs to retrieve commonly used BO addresses:
- User virtual address (UVA)
- Kernel virtual address (KVA)
- Device address (IOVA/PA)

These helpers centralize address lookup logic and avoid duplicating
BO-specific handling across submission and execution paths. This also
improves readability and reduces the risk of inconsistent address
handling in future changes.

As part of the refactor:
- Rename SHMEM BO type to SHARE to better reflect its usage.
- Merge CMD BO handling into SHARE, removing special-case logic for
  command buffers.
- Consolidate BO type handling paths to reduce code duplication and
  simplify maintenance.

No functional change is intended. The refactor prepares the driver for
future enhancements by providing a cleaner abstraction for BO address
management.

Only check for potentially faulty contexts when the engine reset was not

Trigger full device recovery if no contexts were marked by engine reset

d5b8b0347f accel/amdxdna: Split mailbox channel create function
The management channel used for firmware control command submission is
currently created after the firmware is started. If channel creation
fails (for example, due to memory allocation failure or workqueue
creation interruption), the firmware remains in a pending state and is
unable to receive any control commands.

To avoid leaving the firmware in this inconsistent state, split
xdna_mailbox_create_channel() into two separate functions so that
resource allocation can be completed before interacting with the
hardware.
  xdna_mailbox_alloc_channel()
Allocates memory and initializes the workqueue. This can be called
earlier, before interacting with the hardware.
  xdna_mailbox_start_channel()
Performs the hardware interaction required to start the channel.

Rename xdna_mailbox_destroy_channel() to xdna_mailbox_free_channel().
Ensure that xdna_mailbox_stop_channel() and xdna_mailbox_free_channel()
properly unwind the corresponding start and allocation steps, respectively.

f82859c84a accel/amdxdna: Fix major version check on NPU1 platform
Add the missing major number in npu1_fw_feature_table.

Without the major version specified, the firmware feature check fails,
preventing new firmware commands from being enabled on the NPU1
platform.

With the correct major version populated, the driver properly detects
firmware support and enables the new command.

86a14330bf accel/ivpu: Limit number of maximum contexts and doorbells per user
Implement per-user resource limits to prevent resource exhaustion.

Root users can allocate all available contexts (128) and doorbells
(255), while non-root users are limited to half of the available
resources (64 contexts and 127 doorbells respectively).

This prevents scenarios where a single user could monopolize NPU
resources and starve other users on multi-user systems.

Change doorbell ID and command queue ID allocation errors to debug
messages as those are user triggered.

6270ee26e1 accel/amdxdna: Fix NULL pointer dereference of mgmt_chann
mgmt_chann may be set to NULL if the firmware returns an unexpected
error in aie2_send_mgmt_msg_wait(). This can later lead to a NULL
pointer dereference in aie2_hw_stop().

Fix this by introducing a dedicated helper to destroy mgmt_chann
and by adding proper NULL checks before accessing it.

89ff45359a accel/amdxdna: Fill invalid payload for failed command
Newer userspace applications may read the payload of a failed command
to obtain detailed error information. However, the driver and old firmware
versions may not support returning advanced error information.
In this case, initialize the command payload with an invalid value so
userspace can detect that no detailed error information is available.

75c151ceaa accel/amdxdna: Use a different name for latest firmware

Fix this by assigning a different filename (npu_7.sbin) to the latest

07efce5a66 accel/amdxdna: Fix command hang on suspended hardware context
When a hardware context is suspended, the job scheduler is stopped. If a
