bf00a29234 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Add struct arm_smmu_cmd to represent the HW format command
Like STE/CD, add a wrapper struct around the u64 array to represent the
already FIELD_PREP'd command data. Unlike the STE/CD this is a u64
because the command submission path will have the swap to le64.

This makes the API clearer when a u64 is referring to a formatted
command and makes the following changes easier to follow.

Move the command constants out of the struct and into an enum alongside
the rest of the constants defining the HW format so the entire HW format
is self contained and independent of struct arm_smmu_cmdq_ent.

8a0aab012b iommu: arm-smmu-qcom: Ensure smmu is powered up in set_ttbr0_cfg
arm_smmu_write_context_bank() assumes it is being called with RPM
active, but it turns out that is not guaranteed in the path from
qcom_adreno_smmu_set_ttbr0_cfg(), so it's possible for the register
writes to get lost when configuring the context bank while the GPU is
idle, leading to page faults later.
Add the RPM calls here to make sure the SMMU is active before we touch
it.

8bcad9e3a6 iommu/arm-smmu-qcom: Add glymur MDSS to ACTLR client table
Add qcom,glymur-mdss to the qcom_smmu_actlr_client_of_match[]
table to configure the SMMU-500 context bank for the display
subsystem (MDSS) on the Glymur platform.

The settings disable the next-page prefetcher while keeping
macro TLB caching enabled. Without this entry,
qcom_smmu_set_actlr_dev() finds no match for the glymur MDSS
device and leaves the context bank ACTLR at its reset value.

a6e1618a65 iommu/arm-smmu-qcom: Fix fastrpc compatible string in ACTLR client match table
The qcom_smmu_actlr_client_of_match table contained "qcom,fastrpc" as
the compatible string for applying ACTLR prefetch settings to FastRPC
devices. However, "qcom,fastrpc" is the compatible string for the parent
rpmsg channel node, which is not an IOMMU client — it carries no
"iommus" property in the device tree and is never attached to an SMMU
context bank.

The actual IOMMU clients are the compute context bank (CB) child nodes,
which use the compatible string "qcom,fastrpc-compute-cb". These nodes
carry the "iommus" property and are probed by fastrpc_cb_driver via
fastrpc_cb_probe(), which sets up the DMA mask and IOMMU mappings for
each FastRPC session. The device tree structure is:

  fastrpc {
      compatible = "qcom,fastrpc";        /* rpmsg channel, no iommus */
      ...
      compute-cb@3 {
          compatible = "qcom,fastrpc-compute-cb";
          iommus = <&apps_smmu 0x1823 0x0>;  /* actual IOMMU client */
      };
  };

Since qcom_smmu_set_actlr_dev() calls of_match_device() against the
device being attached to the SMMU context bank, the "qcom,fastrpc"
entry was never matching any device. As a result, the ACTLR prefetch
settings (PREFETCH_DEEP | CPRE | CMTLB) were silently never applied
for FastRPC compute context banks.

Fix this by replacing "qcom,fastrpc" with "qcom,fastrpc-compute-cb"
in the match table so that the ACTLR settings are correctly applied
to the compute CB devices that are the true IOMMU clients.

803e41f36d iommu/tegra241-cmdqv: Set supports_cmd op in tegra241_vcmdq_hw_init()
vintf->hyp_own is finalized in tegra241_vintf_hw_init(). On the other hand,
tegra241_vcmdq_alloc_smmu_cmdq() is called via an init_structures callback,
which is earlier than tegra241_vintf_hw_init().

This results in the supports_cmd op always being set to the guest function,
although this doesn't break any functionality nor have some noticeable perf
impact since non-invalidation commands are not issued in the perf sensitive
context.

Fix this by moving supports_cmd to tegra241_vcmdq_hw_init().

After this change,
 - For a guest kernel, this will be a status quo
 - For a host kernel, non-invalidation commands will be issued to VCMDQ(s)

4202fddd01 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Perform per-domain invalidations using arm_smmu_invs
Replace the old invalidation functions with arm_smmu_domain_inv_range() in
all the existing invalidation routines. And deprecate the old functions.

The new arm_smmu_domain_inv_range() handles the CMDQ_MAX_TLBI_OPS as well,
so drop it in the SVA function.

Since arm_smmu_cmdq_batch_add_range() has only one caller now, and it must
be given a valid size, add a WARN_ON_ONCE to catch any missed case.

587bb3e56a iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Add arm_smmu_invs based arm_smmu_domain_inv_range()
Each smmu_domain now has an arm_smmu_invs that specifies the invalidation
steps to perform after any change the IOPTEs. This includes supports for
basic ASID/VMID, the special case for nesting, and ATC invalidations.

Introduce a new arm_smmu_domain_inv helper iterating smmu_domain->invs to
convert the invalidation array to commands. Any invalidation request with
no size specified means an entire flush over a range based one.

Take advantage of the sorted array to compatible batch operations together
to the same SMMU. For instance, ATC invaliations for multiple SIDs can be
pushed as a batch.

ATC invalidations must be completed before the driver disables ATS. Or the
device is permitted to ignore any racing invalidation that would cause an
SMMU timeout. The sequencing is done with a rwlock where holding the write
side of the rwlock means that there are no outstanding ATC invalidations.
If ATS is not used the rwlock is ignored, similar to the existing code.

b77429757e iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Populate smmu_domain->invs when attaching masters
Update the invs array with the invalidations required by each domain type
during attachment operations.

Only an SVA domain or a paging domain will have an invs array:
 a. SVA domain will add an INV_TYPE_S1_ASID per SMMU and an INV_TYPE_ATS
    per SID

 b. Non-nesting-parent paging domain with no ATS-enabled master will add
    a single INV_TYPE_S1_ASID or INV_TYPE_S2_VMID per SMMU

 c. Non-nesting-parent paging domain with ATS-enabled master(s) will do
    (b) and add an INV_TYPE_ATS per SID

 d. Nesting-parent paging domain will add an INV_TYPE_S2_VMID followed by
    an INV_TYPE_S2_VMID_S1_CLEAR per vSMMU. For an ATS-enabled master, it
    will add an INV_TYPE_ATS_FULL per SID

 Note that case #d prepares for a future implementation of VMID allocation
 which requires a followup series for S2 domain sharing. So when a nesting
 parent domain is attached through a vSMMU instance using a nested domain.
 VMID will be allocated per vSMMU instance v.s. currectly per S2 domain.

The per-domain invalidation is not needed until the domain is attached to
a master (when it starts to possibly use TLB). This will make it possible
to attach the domain to multiple SMMUs and avoid unnecessary invalidation
overhead during teardown if no STEs/CDs refer to the domain. It also means
that when the last device is detached, the old domain must flush its ASID
or VMID, since any new iommu_unmap() call would not trigger invalidations
given an empty domain->invs array.

Introduce some arm_smmu_invs helper functions for building scratch arrays,
preparing and installing old/new domain's invalidation arrays.

e3a56b37bf iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Pre-allocate a per-master invalidation array
When a master is attached from an old domain to a new domain, it needs to
build an invalidation array to delete and add the array entries from/onto
the invalidation arrays of those two domains, passed via the to_merge and
to_unref arguments into arm_smmu_invs_merge/unref() respectively.

Since the master->num_streams might differ across masters, a memory would
have to be allocated when building an to_merge/to_unref array which might
fail with -ENOMEM.

On the other hand, an attachment to arm_smmu_blocked_domain must not fail
so it's the best to avoid any memory allocation in that path.

Pre-allocate a fixed size invalidation array for every master. This array
will be used as a scratch to fill dynamically when building a to_merge or
to_unref invs array. Sort fwspec->ids in an ascending order to fit to the
arm_smmu_invs_merge() function.

15a2a5645a iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Introduce a per-domain arm_smmu_invs array
Create a new data structure to hold an array of invalidations that need to
be performed for the domain based on what masters are attached, to replace
the single smmu pointer and linked list of masters in the current design.

Each array entry holds one of the invalidation actions - S1_ASID, S2_VMID,
ATS or their variant with information to feed invalidation commands to HW.
It is structured so that multiple SMMUs can participate in the same array,
removing one key limitation of the current system.

To maximize performance, a sorted array is used as the data structure. It
allows grouping SYNCs together to parallelize invalidations. For instance,
it will group all the ATS entries after the ASID/VMID entry, so they will
all be pushed to the PCI devices in parallel with one SYNC.

To minimize the locking cost on the invalidation fast path (reader of the
invalidation array), the array is managed with RCU.

Provide a set of APIs to add/delete entries to/from an array, which cover
cannot-fail attach cases, e.g. attaching to arm_smmu_blocked_domain. Also
add kunit coverage for those APIs.

32a92f8c89 Convert more 'alloc_obj' cases to default GFP_KERNEL arguments
This converts some of the visually simpler cases that have been split
over multiple lines. I only did the ones that are easy to verify the

Somebody should probably do a proper coccinelle script for this, but for
me the trivial script actually resulted in an assertion failure in the
middle of the script. I probably had made it a bit _too_ trivial.

So after fighting that far a while I decided to just do some of the
syntactically simpler cases with variations of the previous 'sed'

The more syntactically complex multi-line cases would mostly really want

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate

80f1a2c233 iommu/tegra241-cmdqv: Reset VCMDQ in tegra241_vcmdq_hw_init_user()
The Enable bits in CMDQV/VINTF/VCMDQ_CONFIG registers do not actually reset
the HW registers. So, the driver explicitly clears all the registers when a
VINTF or VCMDQ is being initialized calling its hw_deinit() function.

However, a userspace VCMDQ is not properly reset, unlike an in-kernel VCMDQ
getting reset in tegra241_vcmdq_hw_init().

Meanwhile, tegra241_vintf_hw_init() calling tegra241_vintf_hw_deinit() will
not deinit any VCMDQ, since there is no userspace VCMDQ mapped to the VINTF
at that stage.

Then, this may result in dirty VCMDQ registers, which can fail the VM.

Like tegra241_vcmdq_hw_init(), reset a VCMDQ in tegra241_vcmdq_hw_init() to
fix this bug. This is required by a host kernel.

a45dd34663 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Do not set disable_ats unless vSTE is Translate
A vSTE may have three configuration types: Abort, Bypass, and Translate.

An Abort vSTE wouldn't enable ATS, but the other two might.

It makes sense for a Transalte vSTE to rely on the guest vSTE.EATS field.

For a Bypass vSTE, it would end up with an S2-only physical STE, similar
to an attachment to a regular S2 domain. However, the nested case always
disables ATS following the Bypass vSTE, while the regular S2 case always
enables ATS so long as arm_smmu_ats_supported(master) == true.

Note that ATS is needed for certain VM centric workloads and historically
non-vSMMU cases have relied on this automatic enablement. So, having the
nested case behave differently causes problems.

To fix that, add a condition to disable_ats, so that it might enable ATS
for a Bypass vSTE, aligning with the regular S2 case.

7cad800485 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Mark EATS_TRANS safe when computing the update sequence
If VM wants to toggle EATS_TRANS off at the same time as changing the CFG,
hypervisor will see EATS change to 0 and insert a V=0 breaking update into
the STE even though the VM did not ask for that.

In bare metal, EATS_TRANS is ignored by CFG=ABORT/BYPASS, which is why this
does not cause a problem until we have the nested case where CFG is always
a variation of S2 trans that does use EATS_TRANS.

Relax the rules for EATS_TRANS sequencing, we don't need it to be exact as
the enclosing code will always disable ATS at the PCI device when changing
EATS_TRANS. This ensures there are no ATS transactions that can race with
an EATS_TRANS change so we don't need to carefully sequence these bits.

f3c1d372db iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Mark STE MEV safe when computing the update sequence
Nested CD tables set the MEV bit to try to reduce multi-fault spamming on
the hypervisor. Since MEV is in STE word 1 this causes a breaking update
sequence that is not required and impacts real workloads.

For the purposes of STE updates the value of MEV doesn't matter, if it is
set/cleared early or late it just results in a change to the fault reports
that must be supported by the kernel anyhow. The spec says:

 Note: Software must expect, and be able to deal with, coalesced fault
 records even when MEV == 0.

So mark STE MEV safe when computing the update sequence, to avoid creating
a breaking update.

2781f2a930 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Add update_safe bits to fix STE update sequence
C_BAD_STE was observed when updating nested STE from an S1-bypass mode to
an S1DSS-bypass mode. As both modes enabled S2, the used bit is slightly
different than the normal S1-bypass and S1DSS-bypass modes. As a result,
fields like MEV and EATS in S2's used list marked the word1 as a critical
word that requested a STE.V=0. This breaks a hitless update.

However, both MEV and EATS aren't critical in terms of STE update. One
controls the merge of the events and the other controls the ATS that is
managed by the driver at the same time via pci_enable_ats().

Add an arm_smmu_get_ste_update_safe() to allow STE update algorithm to
relax those fields, avoiding the STE update breakages.

After this change, entry_set has no caller checking its return value, so
change it to void.

Note that this change is required by both MEV and EATS fields, which were
introduced in different kernel versions. So add get_update_safe() first.
MEV and EATS will be added to arm_smmu_get_ste_update_safe() separately.

ed1ac3c977 iommu/arm-smmu-qcom: do not register driver in probe()
Commit 0b4eeee287 ("iommu/arm-smmu-qcom: Register the TBU driver in
qcom_smmu_impl_init") intended to also probe the TBU driver when
CONFIG_ARM_SMMU_QCOM_DEBUG is disabled, but also moved the corresponding
platform_driver_register() call into qcom_smmu_impl_init() which is
called from arm_smmu_device_probe().

However, it neither makes sense to register drivers from probe()
callbacks of other drivers, nor does the driver core allow registering
drivers with a device lock already being held.

The latter was revealed by commit dc23806a7c ("driver core: enforce
device_lock for driver_match_device()") leading to a deadlock condition
described in [1].

Additionally, it was noted by Robin that the current approach is
potentially racy with async probe [2].

Hence, fix this by registering the qcom_smmu_tbu_driver from
module_init(). Unfortunately, due to the vendoring of the driver, this
requires an indirection through arm-smmu-impl.c.

a75b2be249 iommu: Add iommu_driver_get_domain_for_dev() helper
There is a need to stage a resetting PCI device to temporarily the blocked
domain and then attach back to its previously attached domain after reset.

This can be simply done by keeping the "previously attached domain" in the
iommu_group->domain pointer while adding an iommu_group->resetting_domain,
which gives troubles to IOMMU drivers using the iommu_get_domain_for_dev()
for a device's physical domain in order to program IOMMU hardware.

And in such for-driver use cases, the iommu_group->mutex must be held, so
it doesn't fit in external callers that don't hold the iommu_group->mutex.

Introduce a new iommu_driver_get_domain_for_dev() helper, exclusively for
driver use cases that hold the iommu_group->mutex, to separate from those
external use cases.

Add a lockdep_assert_not_held to the existing iommu_get_domain_for_dev()
and highlight that in a kdoc.

df180b1a4c iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Improve CMDQ lock fairness and efficiency
The SMMU CMDQ lock is highly contentious when there are multiple CPUs
issuing commands and the queue is nearly full.

The lock has the following states:
 - 0:		Unlocked
 - >0: Shared lock held with count
 - INT_MIN+N:	Exclusive lock held, where N is the # of shared waiters
 - INT_MIN:	Exclusive lock held, no shared waiters

When multiple CPUs are polling for space in the queue, they attempt to
grab the exclusive lock to update the cons pointer from the hardware. If
they fail to get the lock, they will spin until either the cons pointer
is updated by another CPU.

The current code allows the possibility of shared lock starvation
if there is a constant stream of CPUs trying to grab the exclusive lock.
This leads to severe latency issues and soft lockups.

Consider the following scenario where CPU1's attempt to acquire the
shared lock is starved by CPU2 and CPU0 contending for the exclusive
lock.

state of the lock. This causes two problems:
1. It opens the possibility of back-to-back exclusive locks and the
   downstream effect of starving shared lock.
2. The count of shared lock waiters are lost.

To mitigate this, we release the exclusive lock by only clearing the sign
bit while retaining the shared lock waiter count as a way to avoid
starving the shared lock waiters.

Also deleted cmpxchg loop while trying to acquire the shared lock as it
is not needed. The waiters can see the positive lock count and proceed
immediately after the exclusive lock is released.

Exclusive lock is not starved in that submitters will try exclusive lock
first when new spaces become available.

 "This is a pretty consequential cycle for iommufd, though this pull is
  not too big. It is based on a shared branch with VFIO that introduces
  VFIO_DEVICE_FEATURE_DMA_BUF a DMABUF exporter for VFIO device's MMIO
  PCI BARs. This was a large multiple series journey over the last year
  and a half.

  Based on that work IOMMUFD gains support for VFIO DMABUF's in its
  existing IOMMU_IOAS_MAP_FILE, which closes the last major gap to
  support PCI peer to peer transfers within VMs.

  In Joerg's iommu tree we have the "generic page table" work which aims
  to consolidate all the duplicated page table code in every iommu
  driver into a single algorithm. This will be used by iommufd to
  implement unique page table operations to start adding new features
  and improve performance.

81c45c62dc iommu/arm-smmu-v3-iommufd: Allow attaching nested domain for GBPA cases
A vDEVICE has been a hard requirement for attaching a nested domain to the
device. This makes sense when installing a guest STE, since a vSID must be
present and given to the kernel during the vDEVICE allocation.

But, when CR0.SMMUEN is disabled, VM doesn't really need a vSID to program
the vSMMU behavior as GBPA will take effect, in which case the vSTE in the
nested domain could have carried the bypass or abort configuration in GBPA
register. Thus, having such a hard requirement doesn't work well for GBPA.

Skip vmaster allocation in arm_smmu_attach_prepare_vmaster() for an abort
or bypass vSTE. Note that device on this attachment won't report vevents.

Update the uAPI doc accordingly.

5583a55e07 iommu/arm-smmu-qcom: Enable use of all SMR groups when running bare-metal
Some platforms (e.g. SC8280XP and X1E) support more than 128 stream
matching groups. This is more than what is defined as maximum by the ARM
SMMU architecture specification. Commit 1226113473 ("iommu/arm-smmu-qcom:
Limit the SMR groups to 128") disabled use of the additional groups because
they don't exhibit the same behavior as the architecture supported ones.

It seems like this is just another quirk of the hypervisor: When running
bare-metal without the hypervisor, the additional groups appear to behave
just like all others. The boot firmware uses some of the additional groups,
so ignoring them in this situation leads to stream match conflicts whenever
we allocate a new SMR group for the same SID.

The workaround exists primarily because the bypass quirk detection fails
when using a S2CR register from the additional matching groups, so let's
perform the test with the last reliable S2CR (127) and then limit the
number of SMR groups only if we detect that we are running below the
hypervisor (because of the bypass quirk).

fd714986e4 iommu: Pass in old domain to attach_dev callback functions
The IOMMU core attaches each device to a default domain on probe(). Then,
every new "attach" operation has a fundamental meaning of two-fold:
 - detach from its currently attached (old) domain
 - attach to a given new domain

Modern IOMMU drivers following this pattern usually want to clean up the
things related to the old domain, so they call iommu_get_domain_for_dev()
to fetch the old domain.

Pass in the old domain pointer from the core to drivers, aligning with the
set_dev_pasid op that does so already.

Ensure all low-level attach fcuntions in the core can forward the correct
old domain pointer. Thus, rework those functions as well.

685ca577b4 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Fix smmu_domain->nr_ats_masters decrement
The arm_smmu_attach_commit() updates master->ats_enabled before calling
arm_smmu_remove_master_domain() that is supposed to clean up everything
in the old domain, including the old domain's nr_ats_masters. So, it is
supposed to use the old ats_enabled state of the device, not an updated
state.

This isn't a problem if switching between two domains where:
 - old ats_enabled = false; new ats_enabled = false
 - old ats_enabled = true;  new ats_enabled = true
but can fail cases where:
 - old ats_enabled = false; new ats_enabled = true
   (old domain should keep the counter but incorrectly decreased it)
 - old ats_enabled = true;  new ats_enabled = false
   (old domain needed to decrease the counter but incorrectly missed it)

Update master->ats_enabled after arm_smmu_remove_master_domain() to fix
this.

ced24bf435 iommu/qcom: Fix pgsize_bitmap
qcom uses the ARM_32_LPAE_S1 format which uses the ARM long descriptor
page table. Eventually arm_32_lpae_alloc_pgtable_s1() will adjust

So the current declaration is nonsensical. Fix it to be just SZ_4K which

copy and pasted the pgsize_bitmap from something using the ARM_V7S format.

4dc0d12474 iommu/tegra241-cmdqv: Add user-space use support
The CMDQV HW supports a user-space use for virtualization cases. It allows
the VM to issue guest-level TLBI or ATC_INV commands directly to the queue
and executes them without a VMEXIT, as HW will replace the VMID field in a
TLBI command and the SID field in an ATC_INV command with the preset VMID
and SID.

This is built upon the vIOMMU infrastructure by allowing VMM to allocate a
VINTF (as a vIOMMU object) and assign VCMDQs (HW QUEUE objs) to the VINTF.

So firstly, replace the standard vSMMU model with the VINTF implementation
but reuse the standard cache_invalidate op (for unsupported commands) and
the standard alloc_domain_nested op (for standard nested STE).

Each VINTF has two 64KB MMIO pages (128B per logical VCMDQ):
 - Page0 (directly accessed by guest) has all the control and status bits.
 - Page1 (trapped by VMM) has guest-owned queue memory location/size info.

VMM should trap the emulated VINTF0's page1 of the guest VM for the guest-
level VCMDQ location/size info and forward that to the kernel to translate
to a physical memory location to program the VCMDQ HW during an allocation
call. Then, it should mmap the assigned VINTF's page0 to the VINTF0 page0
of the guest VM. This allows the guest OS to read and write the guest-own
VINTF's page0 for direct control of the VCMDQ HW.

For ATC invalidation commands that hold an SID, it requires all devices to
register their virtual SIDs to the SID_MATCH registers and their physical
SIDs to the pairing SID_REPLACE registers, so that HW can use those as a
lookup table to replace those virtual SIDs with the correct physical SIDs.
Thus, implement the driver-allocated vDEVICE op with a tegra241_vintf_sid
structure to allocate SID_REPLACE and to program the SIDs accordingly.

This enables the HW accelerated feature for NVIDIA Grace CPU. Compared to
the standard SMMUv3 operating in the nested translation mode trapping CMDQ
for TLBI and ATC_INV commands, this gives a huge performance improvement:
70% to 90% reductions of invalidation time were measured by various DMA
unmap tests running in a guest OS.

81f81db632 iommu/tegra241-cmdqv: Do not statically map LVCMDQs
To simplify the mappings from global VCMDQs to VINTFs' LVCMDQs, the design
chose to do static allocations and mappings in the global reset function.

However, with the user-owned VINTF support, it exposes a security concern:
if user space VM only wants one LVCMDQ for a VINTF, statically mapping two
or more LVCMDQs creates a hidden VCMDQ that user space could DoS attack by
writing random stuff to overwhelm the kernel with unhandleable IRQs.

Thus, to support the user-owned VINTF feature, a LVCMDQ mapping has to be
done dynamically.

HW allows pre-assigning global VCMDQs in the CMDQ_ALLOC registers, without
finalizing the mappings by keeping CMDQV_CMDQ_ALLOCATED=0. So, add a pair
of map/unmap helper that simply sets/clears that bit.

For kernel-owned VINTF0, move LVCMDQ mappings to tegra241_vintf_hw_init(),
and the unmappings to tegra241_vintf_hw_deinit().

For user-owned VINTFs that will be added, the mappings/unmappings will be
on demand upon an LVCMDQ allocation from the user space.

However, the dynamic LVCMDQ mapping/unmapping can complicate the timing of
calling tegra241_vcmdq_hw_init/deinit(), which write LVCMDQ address space,
i.e. requiring LVCMDQ to be mapped. Highlight that with a note to the top
of either of them.

589899ee29 iommu/tegra241-cmdqv: Simplify deinit flow in tegra241_cmdqv_remove_vintf()
The current flow of tegra241_cmdqv_remove_vintf() is:
 1. For each LVCMDQ, tegra241_vintf_remove_lvcmdq():
    a. Disable the LVCMDQ HW
    b. Release the LVCMDQ SW resource
 2. For current VINTF, tegra241_vintf_hw_deinit():
    c. Disable all LVCMDQ HWs
    d. Disable VINTF HW

Obviously, the step 1.a and the step 2.c are redundant.

Since tegra241_vintf_hw_deinit() disables all of its LVCMDQ HWs, it could
simplify the flow in tegra241_cmdqv_remove_vintf() by calling that first:
 1. For current VINTF, tegra241_vintf_hw_deinit():
    a. Disable all LVCMDQ HWs
    b. Disable VINTF HW
 2. Release all LVCMDQ SW resources

Drop tegra241_vintf_remove_lvcmdq(), and move tegra241_vintf_free_lvcmdq()
as the new step 2.

212c439bdd iommu/arm: Add BBM Level 2 smmu feature
For supporting BBM Level 2 for userspace mappings, we want to ensure
that the smmu also supports its own version of BBM Level 2. Luckily, the
smmu spec (IHI 0070G 3.21.1.3) is stricter than the aarch64 spec (DDI

3961f2f5da iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Replace arm_vsmmu_alloc with arm_vsmmu_init
To ease the for-driver iommufd APIs, get_viommu_size and viommu_init ops
are introduced.

Sanitize the inputs and report the size of struct arm_vsmmu on success, in
arm_smmu_get_viommu_size().

Place the type sanity at the last, becase there will be soon an impl level
get_viommu_size op, which will require the same sanity tests prior. It can
simply insert a piece of code in front of the IOMMU_VIOMMU_TYPE_ARM_SMMUV3
sanity.

The core will ensure the viommu_type is set to the core vIOMMU object, and
pass in the same dev pointer, so arm_vsmmu_init() won't need to repeat the
same sanity tests but to simply init the arm_vsmmu struct.

Remove the arm_vsmmu_alloc, completing the replacement.

3053a2c508 iommu/arm-smmu: Move handing of RESUME to the context fault handler
The upper layer fault handler is now expected to handle everything
required to retry the transaction or dump state related to it, since we
enable threaded IRQs. This means that we can take charge of writing
RESUME, making sure that we always write it after writing FSR as
recommended by the specification.

The iommu handler should write -EAGAIN if a transaction needs to be
retried. This avoids tricky cross-tree changes in drm/msm, since it
never wants to retry the transaction and it already returns 0 from its
fault handler. Therefore it will continue to correctly terminate the
transaction without any changes required.

devcoredumps from drm/msm will temporarily be broken until it is fixed
to collect devcoredumps inside its fault handler, but fixing that first
would actually be worse because MMU-500 ignores writes to RESUME unless
all fields of FSR (except SS of course) are clear and raises an
interrupt when only SS is asserted. Right now, things happen to work
most of the time if we collect a devcoredump, because RESUME is written
asynchronously in the fault worker after the fault handler clears FSR
and finishes, although there will be some spurious faults, but if this
is changed before this commit fixes the FSR/RESUME write order then SS
will never be cleared, the interrupt will never be cleared, and the
whole system will hang every time a fault happens. It will therefore
help bisectability if this commit goes first.

I've changed the TBU path to also accept -EAGAIN and do the same thing,
while keeping the old -EBUSY behavior. Although the old path was broken
because you'd get a storm of interrupts due to returning IRQ_NONE that
would eventually result in the interrupt being disabled, and I think it
was dead code anyway, so it should eventually be deleted. Note that
drm/msm never uses TBU so this is untested.

1650620774 iommu/arm-smmu-qcom: Enable threaded IRQ for Adreno SMMUv2/MMU500
The recommended flow for stall-on-fault in SMMUv2 is the following:

1. Resolve the fault.
2. Write to FSR to clear the fault bits.
3. Write RESUME to retry or fail the transaction.

MMU500 is designed with this sequence in mind. For example,
experimentally we have seen on MMU500 that writing RESUME does not clear
FSR.SS unless the original fault is cleared in FSR, so 2 must come
before 3. FSR.SS is allowed to signal a fault (and does on MMU500) so
that if we try to do 2 -> 1 -> 3 (while exiting from the fault handler
after 2) we can get duplicate faults without hacks to disable
interrupts.

However, resolving the fault typically requires lengthy operations that
can stall, like bringing in pages from disk. The only current user,
drm/msm, dumps GPU state before failing the transaction which indeed can
stall. Therefore, from now on we will require implementations that want
to use stall-on-fault to also enable threaded IRQs. Do that with the
Adreno MMU implementations.

cfea71aea9 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Put iopf enablement in the domain attach path
SMMUv3 co-mingles FEAT_IOPF and FEAT_SVA behaviors so that fault reporting
doesn't work unless both are enabled. This is not correct and causes
problems for iommufd which does not enable FEAT_SVA for it's fault capable
domains.

These APIs are both obsolete, update SMMUv3 to use the new method like AMD
implements.

A driver should enable iopf support when a domain with an iopf_handler is
attached, and disable iopf support when the domain is removed.

Move the fault support logic to sva domain allocation and to domain
attach, refusing to create or attach fault capable domains if the HW
doesn't support it.

Move all the logic for controlling the iopf queue under
arm_smmu_attach_prepare(). Keep track of the number of domains on the
master (over all the SSIDs) that require iopf. When the first domain
requiring iopf is attached create the iopf queue, when the last domain is
detached destroy it.

Turn FEAT_IOPF and FEAT_SVA into no ops.

2d00c34d66 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Fail aliasing StreamIDs more gracefully
We've never supported StreamID aliasing between devices, and as such
they will never have had functioning DMA, but this is not fatal to the
SMMU itself. Although aliasing between hard-wired platform device
StreamIDs would tend to raise questions about the whole system, in
practice it's far more likely to occur relatively innocently due to
legacy PCI bridges, where the underlying StreamID mappings are still
perfectly reasonable.

As such, return a more benign -ENODEV when failing probe for such an
unsupported device (and log a more obvious error message), so that it
doesn't break the entire SMMU probe now that bus_iommu_probe() runs in
the right order and can propagate that error back. The end result is

The IORT logic populaties two identical IDs into the fwspec->ids array via
DMA aliasing in iort_pci_iommu_init() called by pci_for_each_dma_alias().

Though the SMMU driver had been able to handle this situation since commit

got broken by the later commit cdf315f907 ("iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Maintain

with the same stuffing.

With v6.15-rc, since the commit bcb81ac6ae ("iommu: Get DT/ACPI parsing

to the SMMU device probe flow:

Since SMMU driver had been already expecting a potential duplicated Stream
ID in arm_smmu_install_ste_for_dev(), change the arm_smmu_insert_master()
routine to ignore a duplicated ID from the fwspec->sids array as well.

Note: this has been failing the iommu_device_probe() since 2021, although a
recent iommu commit in v6.15-rc1 that moves iommu_device_probe() started to
fail the SMMU driver probe. Since nobody has cared about DMA Alias support,
leave that as it was but fix the fundamental iommu_device_probe() breakage.

pgsize_bitmap. This leads to __ffs() on the value returning 64 and that
leads to undefined behaviour w.r.t. shift operations

Fix this by initializing the iommu_domain's pgsize_bitmap to PAGE_SIZE.
Effectively the code needs to use the smallest page size for
invalidation

45e00e3671 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Add missing S2FWB feature detection
Commit 67e4fe3985 ("iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Use S2FWB for NESTED domains")
introduced S2FWB usage but omitted the corresponding feature detection.
As a result, vIOMMU allocation fails on FVP in arm_vsmmu_alloc(), due to
the following check:

	if (!arm_smmu_master_canwbs(master) &&
	    !(smmu->features & ARM_SMMU_FEAT_S2FWB))
		return ERR_PTR(-EOPNOTSUPP);

This patch adds the missing detection logic to prevent allocation
failure when S2FWB is supported.

This is because the LVCMDQ queue memory are managed by devres, while that
dmam_free_coherent() is called in the context of devm_action_release().

Jason pointed out that "arm_smmu_impl_probe() has mis-ordered the devres
callbacks if ops->device_remove() is going to be manually freeing things
that probe allocated":
https://lore.kernel.org/linux-iommu/20250407174408.GB1722458@nvidia.com/

In fact, tegra241_cmdqv_init_structures() only allocates memory resources
which means any failure that it generates would be similar to -ENOMEM, so
there is no point in having that "falling back to standard SMMU" routine,
as the standard SMMU would likely fail to allocate memory too.

Remove the unwind part in tegra241_cmdqv_init_structures(), and return a
proper error code to ask SMMU driver to call tegra241_cmdqv_remove() via
impl_ops->device_remove(). Then, drop tegra241_vintf_free_lvcmdq() since
devres will take care of that.

Two significant new items:

 - Allow reporting IOMMU HW events to userspace when the events are clearly
   linked to a device. This is linked to the VIOMMU object and is intended to
   be used by a VMM to forward HW events to the virtual machine as part of
   emulating a vIOMMU. ARM SMMUv3 is the first driver to use this
   mechanism. Like the existing fault events the data is delivered through
   a simple FD returning event records on read().

 - PASID support in VFIO. "Process Address Space ID" is a PCI feature that
   allows the device to tag all PCI DMA operations with an ID. The IOMMU
   will then use the ID to select a unique translation for those DMAs. This
   is part of Intel's vIOMMU support as VT-D HW requires the hypervisor to
   manage each PASID entry. The support is generic so any VFIO user could
   attach any translation to a PASID, and the support should work on ARM
   SMMUv3 as well. AMD requires additional driver work.

 Some minor updates, along with fixes:

 - Prevent using nested parents with fault's, no driver support today

 - Put a single "cookie_type" value in the iommu_domain to indicate what
   owns the various opaque owner fields

da0c56520e iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Set MEV bit in nested STE for DoS mitigations
There is a DoS concern on the shared hardware event queue among devices
passed through to VMs, that too many translation failures that belong to
VMs could overflow the shared hardware event queue if those VMs or their
VMMs don't handle/recover the devices properly.

The MEV bit in the STE allows to configure the SMMU HW to merge similar
event records, though there is no guarantee. Set it in a nested STE for
DoS mitigations.

In the future, we might want to enable the MEV for non-nested cases too
such as domain->type == IOMMU_DOMAIN_UNMANAGED or even IOMMU_DOMAIN_DMA.

e7d3fa3d29 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Report events that belong to devices attached to vIOMMU
Aside from the IOPF framework, iommufd provides an additional pathway to
report hardware events, via the vEVENTQ of vIOMMU infrastructure.

Define an iommu_vevent_arm_smmuv3 uAPI structure, and report stage-1 events
in the threaded IRQ handler. Also, add another four event record types that
can be forwarded to a VM.

f0ea207ed7 iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Introduce struct arm_smmu_vmaster
Use it to store all vSMMU-related data. The vsid (Virtual Stream ID) will
be the first use case. Since the vsid reader will be the eventq handler
that already holds a streams_mutex, reuse that to fence the vmaster too.

Also add a pair of arm_smmu_attach_prepare/commit_vmaster helpers to set
or unset the master->vmaster pointer. Put the helpers inside the existing
arm_smmu_attach_prepare/commit().

For identity/blocked ops that don't call arm_smmu_attach_prepare/commit(),
add a simpler arm_smmu_master_clear_vmaster helper to unset the vmaster.
