d481d99996 rust: time: add Delta::as_millis_ceil()
Add a ceiling variant, mirroring the existing as_micros_ceil() since
the existing as_millis() truncates towards zero.

2e0d41002a rust: time: add jiffies time unit for Delta
Add a Jiffy time unit with isize as its representation and provide
Delta<Jiffy>::from_jiffies() and as_jiffies() as the unit-specific
constructor and accessor, mirroring from_nanos()/as_nanos() on the
nanosecond Delta.

Represent the jiffies span as isize: Delta is a signed span (nanoseconds
use i64) and, as a timeout, the value only needs to reach
MAX_JIFFY_OFFSET ((LONG_MAX >> 1) - 1). isize is signed and matches the
kernel's c_long, so it meets both.

2e2203d885 rust: time: make Delta generic over its time unit
Delta hardcodes its value as i64 nanoseconds. A later patch adds a
jiffies span, whose natural representation is isize jiffies rather than
i64 nanoseconds, and a separate type per unit would duplicate the
arithmetic and comparison machinery.

Make Delta generic over its time unit so the jiffies span can reuse that
machinery. The nanosecond Delta keeps its current representation and API
via the default unit parameter, so no functional change.

ec90dfcf05 rust: time: fix as_micros_ceil() rounding near i64::MAX
The ceiling adjustment used saturating_add(NSEC_PER_USEC - 1) before
dividing. Once the nanosecond value gets within NSEC_PER_USEC - 1 of
i64::MAX the addition saturates to i64::MAX, which drops the ceiling
bias and can yield a result one microsecond too small.

Add all of the remaining error codes from include/uapi/asm-generic/errno.h.

Previous updates to error.rs have been piecemeal -- adding single error
codes as needed. Instead, we can avoid future problems by adding all
the remaining error code in one swoop.

EDEADLOCK and EWOULDBLOCK are intentionally left out: they are just
deprecated compatibility aliases of EDEADLK and EAGAIN, kept around for
non-Linux/POSIX code, and have no use in new kernel code.

The reason is that `rusttest` builds the `kernel` crate as a host
library: it passes the `CONFIG_*` cfgs of the configured architecture,
but not `--target`, so code generation happens for the
host. `warn_flags!` then selects the arch-specific inline asm arm
based on `CONFIG_*`, and the host assembler rejects it.

This does not happen with the current `master` because `warn_on!` has
no user inside the `kernel` crate itself yet, but it will as soon as
one is added.

= note: this warning originates in the macro `crate::warn_on` (in Nightly builds, run with -Z macro-backtrace for more info)

The warn_on! macro always defines a WARN_ON_FLAGS constant and hands it
to warn_flags!. On configurations where warn_flags! does not reference
its flags argument (the LOONGARCH/ARM variant, which only calls
WARN_ON(), and the !CONFIG_BUG no-op variant), the constant is left
unused and triggers a dead_code warning.

warn_flags! is the macro that accepts (and here discards) the flags
argument, so make it responsible for the argument it drops.

Also rename `_COND_STR` to `COND_STR` and consume `$file` for consistency.

359af52575 rust: bitfield: always inline test conversions
When using the Rust GCC backend (i.e. `rustc_codegen_gcc`), GCC does not
inline enough these `Bounded::from_expr` calls:

    /usr/bin/x86_64-linux-gnu-ld.bfd: rust/kernel.o: in function `<kernel::num::bounded::Bounded<u16, 2> as core::convert::From<kernel::bitfield::tests::Priority>>::from':
    fake.c:(.text.unlikely+0x7be): undefined reference to `rust_build_error'

    /usr/bin/x86_64-linux-gnu-ld.bfd: rust/kernel.o: in function `<kernel::num::bounded::Bounded<u64, 4> as core::convert::From<kernel::bitfield::tests::MemoryType>>::from':
    fake.c:(.text.unlikely+0x90d): undefined reference to `rust_build_error'

Thus, similar to commit bc197e24a3 ("rust: num: bounded: Always inline
fits_within and from_expr"), mark them as `#[inline(always)]`.

Starting with Rust 1.76.0, `zerocopy` was added as an (indirect)

This makes `rusttest` fail because the compiler finds several candidates:

5bbf2b2deb rust: pin-init: internal: rework how #[pin_data] handles cfg
Attribute macros are invoked without cfg being resolved. This adds quite a
bit complexity to the macro because all of the macro needs to be careful to
attach necessary cfgs. This becomes especially tricky for tuple structs.
Thus, it is convenient if cfgs are all resolved like derive macros.

The most optimal way to handle this is via `TokenStream::expand_expr`, but
that is still unstable. We can also create an internal derive macro and
transform the attribute macro invocation to be derive macro, but doing
requires us to serialize all extracted information in a form of helper
attributes; it would also make it more difficult if we want to make changes
to the struct (which the self-reference feature would need).

Implement an approach where we generate two cfg-gated macro invocations
with cfg resolved within the invocation. This would mean when the loop
falls through, all field cfgs are resolved, so remove all handling of
cfg_attrs for the rest of the macro.

880c43b185 rust: time: fix as_micros_ceil() to round correctly for negative Delta
The ceiling-division idiom `(n + d - 1) / d` only produces the
correct result when `n` is non-negative.

For example, if n = -1000 (exactly -1us), the old code computed (-1000
+ 999) / 1000 == 0 instead of -1.

For negative n, truncating division already rounds towards positive
infinity, so no bias is needed in that case.

[ I was doubly surprised since upstream made it a deny-by-default lint

It turns out this just landed into today's nightly (nightly-2026-07-16,

The previous code only ran cleanup on the explicit error path. If the per-
element initializer panicked partway through, the elements already written
into the array would be leaked: their `Drop` impls would never run. This
violates the pinning requirement.

Fix the unwind safety issue by adding a guard type that drops element on
both error and panic path.

To avoid having to duplicate code between `pin_init_array_from_fn` and the
non-pin variant, extract the code to a shared `ArrayInit` type; this type
is internal and not visible via API.

751ecd5a19 rust: pin-init: internal: generate brace in macro for init code blocks
`init!` support interleaving code execution and initialization, and code
execution is done using `_: { ... }` syntax. If the code inside block is a
single statement, Rust may add a lint about unused braces, but the
suggestion will be incorrect as block is required by pin-init.

Currently we use `unused_brace` to suppress this, but this affect
everything nested inside as well. Use an alternative approach by generating
the block from the macro, then rustc will know to not emit the lint.

2808a39639 rust: zerocopy: update to v0.8.52
Update our vendored copy of `zerocopy` (and `zerocopy-derive`) to v0.8.52.

Most SPDX identifiers have been added upstream at our request [1]
(without parentheses -- supporting them is an issue on the kernel side,
but it does already reduce our differences). The CSS one for `rustdoc`
was added too [2], but will be picked up in a later version.

For `zerocopy`, enable `--cfg no_fp_fmt_parse`, which was added at our
request to avoid our local workaround [3]. This means one less difference,
thus indicate so in our `README.md`.

For `zerocopy-derive`, enable `--cfg zerocopy_unstable_linux`. This
allows us to use `#[derive(zerocopy_derive::most_traits)]`, a new feature
upstream added for us [4]. We noticed a minor doc render bug [5], which
will be fixed for a future version too.

608045a91d rust: allow suspicious_runtime_symbol_definitions lint for Rust >= 1.98
Starting with Rust 1.98.0 (expected 2026-08-20), Rust is introducing a

Our build hits the second one, i.e. the warning:

error: suspicious definition of the runtime `strlen` symbol used by the standard library

          |

          = help: to override `-D warnings` add `#[allow(suspicious_runtime_symbol_definitions)]`

Thus `allow` the lint in `bindings` and `uapi`.

A more targeted alternative to avoid `allow`ing it would be to pass
`--blocklist-function strlen` to `bindgen`, but we would perhaps need
to adjust if other C headers end up adding more (or Rust checking more).
Since it is just the less critical one that we hit, and since eventually
this should be properly fixed by getting upstream Rust to provide a flag
like GCC/Clang's `-funsigned-char` [2][3], just `allow` it for now.

 Patchsets in this merge:

 - The 2 patch series "selftests/mm: clean up build output and verbosity"
from Li Wang removes some noise from the MM selftests build out.

 - The 3 patch series "mm: Free contiguous order-0 pages efficiently"
from Ryan Roberts speeds up the freeing of a batch of 0-order pages by
first scanning them for coalescing opportunities. This is applicable to
vfree() and to the releasing of frozen pages.

 - The 11 patch series "mm/damon: introduce DAMOS failed region quota
charge ratio" from SeongJae Park addresses a DAMOS usability issue: The
DAMOS quota often exhausts prematurely because it charges for all memory
attempted, causing slow and inconsistent performance when actions fail
   on unreclaimable memory.

To fix this, a new feature lets users set a smaller, flexible quota
charge ratio (via a numerator and denominator) for failed regions.
Since failed actions cause less overhead, reducing their quota cost
ensures more predictable and efficient DAMOS processing

 - The 8 patch series "selftests/cgroup: improve zswap tests robustness
and support large page sizes" from Li Wang fixes various spurious
failures and improves the overall robustness of the cgroup zswap
   selftests.

 - The 3 patch series "fix MAP_DROPPABLE not supported errno" from
Anthony Yznaga fixes an issue in the mlock selftests on arm32.

 - The 2 patch series "mm: huge_memory: clean up defrag sysfs with
shared" from Breno Leitao does some maintenance work in the huge_memory
   code.

 - The 3 patch series "treewide: fixup gfp_t printks" from Brendan
Jackman uses the special vprintf() gfp_t conversion in various places.

 - The 6 patch series "mm: Fix vmemmap optimization accounting and
initialization" from Muchun Song fixes several bugs in the vmemmap
optimization, mainly around incorrect page accounting and memmap
initialization in the DAX and memory hotplug paths. It also fixes
pageblock migratetype initialization and struct page initialization for
   ZONE_DEVICE compound pages.

 - The 4 patch series "mm/damon: repost non-hotfix reviewed patches in
damon/next tree" from is a sprinkle of unrelated minor bugfixes for
   DAMON.

 - The 3 patch series "mm: remove page_mapped()" from David Hildenbrand
remove this function from the tree, replacing it with folio_mapped().

 - The 10 patch series "mm/damon: let DAMON be paused and resumed" from
SeongJae Park permits DAMON to be paused and resumed without losing its
   current state.

 - The 3 patch series "kasan: hw_tags: Disable tagging for stack and
page-tables" from Muhammad Usama Anjum simplifies and speeds up kasan by
removing its ineffective tagging of stacks and page tables.

 - The 7 patch series "mm/damon/reclaim,lru_sort: monitor all system rams
by default" from SeongJae Park simplifies deployment on diverse hardware
like NUMA systems by updating DAMON_RECLAIM and DAMON_LRU_SORT to
automatically monitor the physical address range covering all System RAM
areas by default, replacing the overly restrictive behavior that only
targeted the single largest memory block to save on negligible overhead.

 - The 2 patch series "mm/damon/sysfs: document filters/ directory as
deprecated" from SeongJae Park updates some DAMON docs.

 - The 8 patch series "mm: use spinlock guards for zone lock" from Dmitry
Ilvokhin switches zone->lock handling over to using the guard()
   mechanisms.

 - The 2 patch series "mm/filemap: tighten mmap_miss hit accounting" from
fujunjie fixes a flaw where the mmap_miss counter over-credited page
cache hits during fault-arounds and page-fault retries. This results in
significant reduction of redundant synchronous mmap readahead I/O,
drastically cutting down execution time and gigabytes read for sparse
random or strided memory access workloads.

 - The 2 patch series "selftests/cgroup: Fix false positive failures in
test_percpu_basic" from Li Wang fixes a couple of false-positives in the
   cgroup kmem selftests.

 - The 2 patch series "mm/damon/reclaim: support monitoring intervals
auto-tuning" from SeongJae Park adds a new parameter to DAMON permitting
DAMON_RECLAIM to automatically tune DAMON's sampling and aggregation
   intervals.

 - The 2 patch series "mm/damon/stat: add kdamond_pid parameter" from
SeongJae Park chnges DAMON_STAT to provide the pid of its kdamond.

 - The 2 patch series "mm/kmemleak: dedupe verbose scan output" from
Breno Leitao removes large amounts of duplicated backtraces from the
   verbose-mode kmemleak output.

 - The 8 patch series "mm: remove CONFIG_HAVE_BOOTMEM_INFO_NODE (Part 1)"
from David Hildenbrand reduces our use of CONFIG_HAVE_BOOTMEM_INFO_NODE,
with a view to removing it entirely in a later series.

 - The 2 patch series "mm/damon: validate min_region_size to be power of
2" from Liew Rui Yan prevents users from passing a non-power-of-2 value
of `addr_unit', as this later results in undesirable behavior.

 - The 2 patch series "mm: document read_pages and simplify usage" from
   Frederick Mayle does as claimed.

 - The 3 patch series "tools/mm/page-types: Fix misc bugs" from Ye Liu
   fixes three issues in tools/mm/page-types.c.

 - The 4 patch series "mm: misc cleanups from __GFP_UNMAPPED series" from
Brendan Jackman implements several cleanups in the page allocator and
   related code.

 - The 12 patch series "mm, swap: swap table phase IV: unify allocation"
from Kairui Song unifies the allocation and charging of anon and shmem
swap in folios, provides better synchronization, consolidates the
metadata management, hence dropping the static array and map, and
   improves performance.

 - The 28 patch series "mm/damon: introduce data attributes monitoring"
from SeongJae Park extends DAMON for monitoring general data attributes
   other than accesses.

 - The 5 patch series "mm/vmalloc: free unused pages on vrealloc()
shrink" from Shivam Kalra implements the TODO in vrealloc() to unmap and
free unused pages when shrinking across a page boundary.

 - The 3 patch series "mm/damon: documentation and comment fixes" from
   niecheng does as advertised.

 - The 3 patch series "remove mmap_action success, error hooks" from
Lorenzo Stoakes eliminates custom hooks from mmap_action by removing the
problematic success_hook which allowed drivers to improperly access
uninitialized VMAs. It replaces the error_hook with a simple error-code
field and updates the memory char driver accordingly.

 - The 14 patch series "mm/damon: minor improvements for code readability
and tests" from SeongJae Park implements minor improvements in code
   readability and tests for DAMON.

 - The 2 patch series "mm/damon: fix macro arguments and clarify quota
goals doc" from Maksym Shcherba does those things.

 - The 2 patch series "userfaultfd: merge fs/userfaultfd.c into
mm/userfaultfd.c" from Mike Rapoport performs that code movement.

 - The 15 patch series "mm/mglru: improve reclaim loop and dirty folio"
from Kairui Song and others cleans up and slightly improves MGLRU's
reclaim loop and dirty writeback handling. Large performance
   improvements are measured.

 - The 3 patch series "use vma locks for proc/pid/{smaps|numa_maps}
reads" from Suren Baghdasaryan uses per-vma locks when reading
/proc/pid/smaps and /proc/pid/numa_maps similar to reduce contention on
   central mmap_lock.

 - The 2 patch series "refactors thpsize_shmem_enabled_store() and
thpsize_shmem_enabled_show()" from Ran Xiaokai provides some cleanup
   work in the THP code.

 - The 2 patch series "selftests/memfd: fix compilation warnings" from
Konstantin Khorenko fixes a few build glitches in the memfd selftest
   code.

 - The 4 patch series "memcg: shrink obj_stock_pcp and cache multiple
objcgs" from Shakeel Butt resolves a 68% performance regression caused
by NUMA-node cache thrashing around struct obj_stock_pcp by shrinking
its existing fields and expanding it into a multi-slot array that caches
up to five obj_cgroup pointers per CPU, allowing per-node variants of
the same memcg to coexist within a single 64-byte cache line.

 - The 2 patch series "zram: writeback fixes" from Sergey Senozhatsky
addresses a couple of unrelated zram writeback issues.

 - The 9 patch series "mm: switch THP shrinker to list_lru" from Johannes
Weiner resolves NUMA-awareness issues and streamlines callsite
interaction by refactoring and extending the list_lru API to completely
replace the complex, open-coded deferred split queue for Transparent
   Huge Pages (THPs).

 - The 2 patch series "mm: improve large folio readahead for exec memory"
from Usama Arif improves large-folio readahead on systems like 64K-page
arm64 by preventing the mmap_miss check from permanently disabling

vmemmap_set_pmd() and vmemmap_check_pmd()" from Muchun Song provides
generic versions of these two functions so the four arch-specific
   implementations can be removed.

 - The 2 patch series "mm/swap, PM: hibernate: fix swapoff race in
uswsusp by pinning swap device" from Youngjun Park addresses a
uswsusp-vs-swapoff race and reduces the swap device reference
   taking/releasing frequency.

 - The 2 patch series "mm/hmm: A fix and a selftest" from Dev Jain does
   as claimed.

Switch zone->lock handling over to using the guard() mechanisms

 - "mm/filemap: tighten mmap_miss hit accounting" (fujunjie)

Fix a flaw where the mmap_miss counter over-credited page cache hits
during fault-arounds and page-fault retries. This results in
significant reduction of redundant synchronous mmap readahead I/O,
drastically cutting down execution time and gigabytes read for sparse
random or strided memory access workloads

 - "selftests/cgroup: Fix false positive failures in test_percpu_basic"
   (Li Wang)

Fix a couple of false-positives in the cgroup kmem selftests

 - "mm/damon/reclaim: support monitoring intervals auto-tuning"
   (SeongJae Park)

Add a new parameter to DAMON permitting DAMON_RECLAIM to
automatically tune DAMON's sampling and aggregation intervals

 - "mm/damon/stat: add kdamond_pid parameter" (SeongJae Park)

Change DAMON_STAT to provide the pid of its kdamond

 - "mm/kmemleak: dedupe verbose scan output" (Breno Leitao)

Remove large amounts of duplicated backtraces from the verbose-mode
   kmemleak output

 - "mm: remove CONFIG_HAVE_BOOTMEM_INFO_NODE (Part 1)" (David
   Hildenbrand)

Reduce our use of CONFIG_HAVE_BOOTMEM_INFO_NODE, with a view to
removing it entirely in a later series

 - "mm/damon: validate min_region_size to be power of 2" (Liew Rui Yan)

Prevent users from passing a non-power-of-2 value of `addr_unit', as
this later results in undesirable behavior

 - "mm: document read_pages and simplify usage" (Frederick Mayle)

 - "tools/mm/page-types: Fix misc bugs" (Ye Liu)

   Fix three issues in tools/mm/page-types.c

 - "mm: misc cleanups from __GFP_UNMAPPED series" (Brendan Jackman)

Implement several cleanups in the page allocator and related code

 - "mm, swap: swap table phase IV: unify allocation" (Kairui Song)

Unify the allocation and charging of anon and shmem swap in folios,
provides better synchronization, consolidates the metadata
management, hence dropping the static array and map, and improves
   performance

 - "mm/damon: introduce data attributes monitoring" (SeongJae Park(

Extend DAMON to monitor general data attributes other than accesses

 - "mm/vmalloc: free unused pages on vrealloc() shrink" (Shivam Kalra)

Implement the TODO in vrealloc() to unmap and free unused pages when
   shrinking across a page boundary

 - "mm/damon: documentation and comment fixes" (niecheng)

 - "remove mmap_action success, error hooks" (Lorenzo Stoakes)

Eliminate custom hooks from mmap_action by removing the problematic
success_hook which allowed drivers to improperly access uninitialized
VMAs. It replaces the error_hook with a simple error-code field and
updates the memory char driver accordingly

 - "mm/damon: minor improvements for code readability and tests"
   (SeongJae Park)

 - "mm/damon: fix macro arguments and clarify quota goals doc" (Maksym
   Shcherba)

 - "userfaultfd: merge fs/userfaultfd.c into mm/userfaultfd.c" (Mike
   Rapoport)

 - "mm/mglru: improve reclaim loop and dirty folio" (Kairui Song and
   others)

Clean up and slightly improves MGLRU's reclaim loop and dirty
writeback handling. Large performance improvements are measured

 - "use vma locks for proc/pid/{smaps|numa_maps} reads" (Suren
   Baghdasaryan)

Use per-vma locks when reading /proc/pid/smaps and numa_maps similar
to reduce contention on central mmap_lock

 - "refactors thpsize_shmem_enabled_store() and thpsize_shmem_enabled_show()"
   (Ran Xiaokai)

Some cleanup work in the THP code

 - "selftests/memfd: fix compilation warnings" (Konstantin Khorenko)

Fix a few build glitches in the memfd selftest code.

 - "memcg: shrink obj_stock_pcp and cache multiple objcgs" (Shakeel
   Butt)

Resolve a 68% performance regression caused by NUMA-node cache
thrashing around struct obj_stock_pcp by shrinking its existing
fields and expanding it into a multi-slot array that caches up to
five obj_cgroup pointers per CPU, allowing per-node variants of the
same memcg to coexist within a single 64-byte cache line.

 - "zram: writeback fixes" (Sergey Senozhatsky)

address a couple of unrelated zram writeback issues

 - "mm: switch THP shrinker to list_lru" (Johannes Weiner)

Resolve NUMA-awareness issues and streamlines callsite interaction by
refactoring and extending the list_lru API to completely replace the
complex, open-coded deferred split queue for Transparent Huge Pages

 - "mm: improve large folio readahead for exec memory" (Usama Arif)

Improve large-folio readahead on systems like 64K-page arm64 by
preventing the mmap_miss check from permanently disabling
target-oriented VM_EXEC readahead, and by generalizing the
force_thp_readahead gate to support mappings with any usefully large
maximum folio order under the cache cap.

 - "userfaultfd/pagemap: pre-existing fixes" (Kiryl Shutsemau)

Fix a bunch of minor issues in the userfaultfd/pagemap, all of which
were flagged by Sashiko review of proposed new material

 - "mm/sparse-vmemmap: Provide generic vmemmap_set_pmd() and
   vmemmap_check_pmd()" (Muchun Song)

Provide generic versions of these two functions so the four
   arch-specific implementations can be removed.

 - "mm/swap, PM: hibernate: fix swapoff race in uswsusp by pinning swap
   device" (Youngjun Park)

Address a uswsusp-vs-swapoff race and reduces the swap device
   reference taking/releasing frequency.

 - "mm/hmm: A fix and a selftest" (Dev Jain)

8479bb8c44 Modules changes for v7.2-rc1
- Add a missing return value check for module_extend_max_pages()
to prevent a kernel oops on memory allocation failure.

 - Force sh_addr to 0 for architecture-specific module sections on
arm, arm64, m68k, and riscv. This prevents non-zero section
addresses when linking modules with ld.bfd -r, which may cause
tools to misbehave and result in worse compressibility.

 - Replace pr_warn! with pr_warn_once! for set_param null pointer
warnings in Rust abstractions, now that the _once variant is
   available.

Note that as part of our maintainer rotation, Petr Pavlu will be
taking over module subsystem pull requests for the next six months.

f09d2312d1 rust: bitfield: mark Debug impl as #[inline]
A `Debug` impl is for debugging and is normally not used, and therefore
should ideally not be code-generated unless used. However, Rust has no way
of knowing if a dependent crate is going to use the trait impl or not, so
unless it is marked as `#[inline]`, it will be code-generated in the
defining crate (as it is not generic).

Mark the impl generated by bitfield macro `#[inline]`, so they do not stay
in the binary unless used.

This reduces nova-core.o .text by 17% (from 151922 bytes to 125676 bytes).

43a393185e rust: prelude: add zerocopy{,_derive}::IntoBytes
In order to easily use `IntoBytes`, add it to the prelude.

This adds both the trait (`zerocopy::IntoBytes`) as well as the derive
macro (`zerocopy_derive::IntoBytes`).

[ This patch will simplify using the feature in several trees next cycle.

  Gary writes:

This is wanted because I want to convert the upcoming I/O projection
series to use `zerocopy` traits rather than keep using transmute
    module.

It is most helpful for derives in doc tests; I do not want to
    explicitly use `#[derive(zerocopy_derive::IntoBytes)]` in the
    doc tests.

For reference, the upcoming I/O projection series is at:

36808d5e98 Driver core changes for 7.2-rc1
- deferred probe:
   - Fix race where deferred probe timeout work could be permanently
     canceled by using mod_delayed_work()
   - Fix missing jiffies conversion in deferred_probe_extend_timeout()
   - Guard timeout extension with delayed_work_pending() to prevent
     premature firing
   - Use system_percpu_wq instead of the deprecated system_wq
   - Update deferred_probe_timeout documentation

 - device:
   - Replace direct struct device bitfield access (can_match, dma_iommu,
     dma_skip_sync, dma_ops_bypass, state_synced, dma_coherent,
     of_node_reused, offline, offline_disabled) with flag-based
     accessors using bit operations
   - Reject devices with unregistered buses
   - Delete unused DEVICE_ATTR_PREALLOC()
   - Add low-level device attribute macros with const show/store
callbacks, allowing device attributes to reside in read-only memory
   - Move core device attributes to read-only memory
   - Constify group array pointers in driver_add_groups() /
     driver_remove_groups(), struct bus_type, and struct device_driver

 - device property:
   - Fix fwnode reference leak in fwnode_graph_get_endpoint_by_id()
   - Initialize all fields of fwnode_handle in fwnode_init()
   - Provide swnode_get()/swnode_put() wrappers around kobject_get/put()
   - Allow passing struct software_node_ref_args pointers directly to
     PROPERTY_ENTRY_REF()

 - driver_override:
   - Migrate amba, cdx, vmbus, and rpmsg to the generic driver_override
infrastructure, fixing a UAF from unsynchronized access to
     driver_override in bus match() callbacks
   - Remove the now-unused driver_set_override()

 - firmware loader:
   - Fix recursive lock deadlock in device_cache_fw_images() when async
work falls back to synchronous execution
   - Fix device reference leak in firmware_upload_register()

 - platform:
   - Pass KBUILD_MODNAME through the platform driver registration macro
to create module symlinks in sysfs for built-in drivers; move
module_kset initialization to a pure_initcall and tegra cbb
registration to core_initcall to ensure correct ordering
   - Pass THIS_MODULE implicitly through a coresight_init_driver() macro

 - sysfs:
   - Upgrade OOB write detection in sysfs_kf_seq_show() from printk to
     WARN
   - Add return value clamping to sysfs_kf_read()

 - Rust:
   - ACPI:
     - Fix missing match data for PRP0001 by exporting
       acpi_of_match_device()

   - Auxiliary:
     - Replace drvdata() with dedicated registration data on
auxiliary_device. drvdata() exposed the driver's bus device
private data beyond the driver's own scope, creating ordering
constraints and forcing the data to outlive all registrations
that access it. Registration data is instead scoped structurally
to the Registration object, making lifecycle ordering enforced
       by construction rather than convention.

   - Rust-native device driver lifetimes (HRT):
     - Allow Rust device drivers to carry a lifetime parameter on their
bus device private data, tied to the device binding scope -- the
interval during which a bus device is bound to a driver. Device
resources like pci::Bar<'a> and IoMem<'a> can be stored directly
in the driver's bus device private data with a lifetime bounded
by the binding scope, so the compiler enforces at build time that
they do not outlive the binding. This removes Devres indirection
from every access site and eliminates try_access() failure paths
       in destructors.

Bus driver traits use a Generic Associated Type (GAT)
Data<'bound> to introduce the lifetime on the private data,
rather than parameterizing the Driver trait itself. Auxiliary
registration data, where the lifetime is not introduced by a
trait callback but must be threaded through Registration, uses
the ForLt trait (a type-level abstraction for types generic over
       a lifetime).

 - Misc:
   - Fix DT overlayed devices not probing by reverting the broken
treewide overlay fix and re-running fw_devlink consumer pickup when
an overlay is applied to a bound device
   - Use root_device_register() for faux bus root device; add sanity
     check for failed bus init
   - Fix dev_has_sync_state() data race with READ_ONCE() and move it to
     base.h
   - Avoid spurious device_links warning when removing a device while
     its supplier is unbinding
   - Switch ISA bus to dynamic root device
   - Fix suspicious RCU usage in kernfs_put()
   - Remove devcoredump exit callback
   - Constify devfreq_event_class
