On X1P42100 the Iris block has an extra BSE clock. Wire this clock into
the power on/off sequence.
The BSE clock is used to drive the Bin Stream Engine, which is a sub-block
of the video codec hardware responsible for bitstream-level processing. It
is required to be enabled separately from the core clock to ensure proper
codec operation.

The existing iris_vpu_dec_comv_size() used VIDEO_MAX_FRAME (32) as
num_comv count unconditionally when calculating the co-located motion
vector (COMV) buffer size. This resulted in an oversized COMV buffer
allocation throughout decode session, wasting memory regardless of
actual number of buffers required.
For VPU3x and VPU4x platforms, introduce iris_vpu3x_4x_dec_comv_size() to
replace iris_vpu_dec_comv_size(). These derive num_comv dynamically, it
uses inst->fw_min_count once the firmware has reported its buffer
requirements, and fallback to output count during initialization before
firmware has communicated its requirements. This aligns the COMV buffer
size to the actual count needed rather than always allocating with fixed
VIDEO_MAX_FRAME value.
Additionally, during iris_vdec_inst_init(), fw_min_count was initialized
to MIN_BUFFERS instead of 0. This masked the fallback logic and caused the
COMV size calculation to use MIN_BUFFERS even before firmware had reported
its actual requirements. Fix this by initializing fw_min_count to 0.
During testing of 1080p AVC, it reduces the COMV buffer size from 32.89MB
to 6.16MB per decode session, significantly reducing memory consumption.

The driver was using a fixed default FPS value when calculating the VPU
frequency. This caused wrong frequency requests for high‑frame‑rate
streams, for example 4K at 240 FPS. Because of this, the hardware was
running at a lower frequency than needed.
Add the FPS measurement based on the decoder input buffer arrival rate.
The measured FPS is stored per instance and used in frequency calculation
instead of the fixed default FPS. The value is clamped so that it does
not exceed platform limits. Add a VPP firmware overhead when running in
STAGE_2.

Modify iris_hfi_gen1_packet_session_set_property to simplify size
calculations and remove redundant code patterns.
Previously, packet->shdr.hdr.size was incremented by sizeof(u32) in
every switch case, resulting in repetitive and less maintainable
logic.

Document the new compatible string "qcom,x1p42100-iris".
Unlike SM8550 where the BSE (Bitstream Engine) is clocked implicitly
via vcodec0_core, x1p42100 exposes a dedicated BSE clock vcodec0_bse
that requires explicit enable/disable and frequency configuration.
The SM8550 driver has no knowledge of this clock and therefore cannot
operate x1p42100 hardware correctly.

Requesting the IRQ and then immediately disabling it is fragile as it
leaves a window when the IRQ is still enabled although the underlying
device might be not completely setup for IRQ handling. Pass

Attach power domains for vdec and venc cores and power them up if a vdec
or venc session is started.
Vcodec clocks are added and enabled to the core Venus device both for
vcodec0 and vcodec1. To ensure they are added only once, introduce a new
property "vcodec_clks", which is an array of clocks which are enabled
both during decode and encode and is retrieved from the device tree only
once.

dimensions, which does not reflect actual hardware requirements and can
reject valid userspace configurations.

Encoder HFI capabilities on v4 advertise a 16-pixel step for frame and
blur dimensions. This is overly restrictive and can cause userspace caps
negotiation to fail even for valid resolutions.
Relax the advertised step size to 1 and keep alignment enforcement in
buffer layout and size calculations.

get_framesize_raw_nv12() currently adds SZ_4K to the UV plane size and an
additional SZ_8K to the total buffer size. This inflates the calculated
sizeimage and leads userspace to over-allocate buffers without a clear
requirement.
Remove the extra SZ_4K/SZ_8K padding and compute the NV12 size as the sum
of Y and UV planes, keeping the final ALIGN(size, SZ_4K) intact.

This reverts commit c0ab2901fc ("media: venus: hfi_platform: Correct
supported codecs for sc7280"). The codecs might be deprecated, but they
still work (somewhat) perfectly and don't cause any issues with the rest
of the system. Reenable VP8 codecs by reverting the offending commit.

CVS is located between IPU device and sensors and is available in
existing commercial platforms from multiple OEMs. The connection
information between them in firmware is not enough to build a V4L2
connection graph. This patch parses the connection properties from the
SSDB buffer in DSDT and builds the connection using software nodes.
From the IPU bridge point of view, CVS is just like IVSC.

Add driver for Intel Computer Vision Sensing (CVS) devices found on
Intel Luna Lake (LNL), Panther Lake (PTL), and Arrow Lake (ARL)
platforms.
The CVS device acts as a V4L2 sub-device bridge that manages CSI-2
link ownership between the host (Linux) and firmware for camera
sensors. It provides:
- Query the device status via sysfs interface
- CSI-2 link ownership arbitration between host and CVS firmware
- MIPI CSI-2 configuration management
- Privacy LED control coordination
- Power management integration with runtime PM
The driver consists of two main components:
core.c: Core driver with probe, command transport, and power management
v4l2.c: V4L2 sub-device and media framework integration
Hardware Interface:
- I2C for command/control communication with device firmware
- GPIO signals for ownership handshaking (request/response)
- Optional reset and wake interrupt for full-capability variants
- Integration with Intel IPU via ipu_bridge
The driver supports two hardware capability levels:
- Light capability: Basic GPIO-based ownership (2 GPIOs)
- Full capability: Enhanced with reset control and wake IRQ (4 GPIOs)
Device-specific quirks are handled via a quirk table to accommodate
variations across different CVS implementations (Lattice, Synaptics).
In addition to I2C-based operation, the driver supports platform
device instantiation for systems where CVS is exposed without I2C
transport, falling back to GPIO-only ownership control.
The CVS driver integrates with the IPU bridge for automatic device
discovery via ACPI on supported platforms.
PCI device IDs for Intel IPU7 (0x645d, shared by MTL and LNL) and
IPU7.5 (0xb05d, shared by ARL and PTL) are included in the
driver-local icvs_pci_tbl lookup table, enabling CVS to locate these
IPU variants without modifying the shared ipu6-pci-table header.
A PM runtime device link is established between IPU (consumer) and CVS
(supplier) so that the PM framework automatically resumes CVS before
IPU begins streaming, triggering cvs_runtime_resume() to claim CSI-2
link ownership. Ownership is released via cvs_runtime_suspend() after
the autosuspend delay.

Remove dev_err() call after dma_alloc_coherent() failure.
checkpatch.pl reports this as an unnecessary out-of-memory message because

entity->pads is an array that contains all the pads of an entity.
Calling __media_pipeline_start() or __media_pipeline_stop() on the pads,
implicitly starts the pipeline with the first pad in this array as origin.
Explicitly use the first pad to start the pipeline to make this more
obvious to the reader.

The imx-media driver has a single imx_media_device. Attaching the
media_pipeline to the imx_media_device prevents the execution of multiple
media pipelines on the device. This should be possible as long as the
media_pipelines don't use the same pads or pads that be configured while
the other media pipeline is streaming.
Move the media_pipeline to the imx_media_video_dev to be able to construct
media pipelines per imx capture device.
If different media pipelines in the media device conflict, the validation
will fail. Thus, the pipeline will fail to start and signal an error to
user space.

The R-Car VIN driver already uses a scratch buffer to sustain capture
operations in absence of a frame buffer provided by userspace.
There is no reason to require 4 buffers queued at all times for the
driver to operate. Drop min_queued_buffers from the VIN driver to allow
single-frame capture operations.

Some UVC 1.1 cameras running in fast isochronous mode tend to spam the
USB host with a lot of empty packets. These packets contain clock
information and are added to the clock buffer but do not add any
accuracy to the calculation. In fact, it is quite the opposite, in our
calculations, only the first and the last timestamp is used, and we only
have 32 slots.
Ignore the samples that will produce less than MIN_HW_TIMESTAMP_DIFF
data.

In some situations, even with a full clock buffer, it does not contain
250msec of data. This results in the driver jumping back from software
to hardware timestapsing creating a nasty artifact in the video.
If the clock buffer is full, use it to calculate the timestamp instead
of defaulting to software stamps, the reduced accuracy is less visible
than jumping from one timestamping mechanism to the other.

To avoid filling the clock circular buffer with duplicated data we only
add it if the new value sof is different than the last added sof.
The issue is that we compare the unprocess sof with the processed sof.
If there is a sof_offset, or UVC_QUIRK_INVALID_DEVICE_SOF is enabled,
the comparison will not work as expected.
This patch moves the comparison to the right place.

If the metadata queue that is empty receives a new buffer while we are
in the middle of processing a frame, the first metadata buffer will
contain partial information.
Avoid this by tracking the state of the metadata buffer and making sure
that it is in sync with the data buffer.
Now that we are at it, make sure that we skip buffers of size 1 or 0.
They are not allowed by the spec... but it is a simple check to add and
better be safe than sorry.

If a UVC camera has an asynchronous control, uvc_status_stop may be
called from async_ctrl.work:
uvc_ctrl_status_event_work()
uvc_ctrl_status_event()
uvc_ctrl_clear_handle()
uvc_pm_put()
uvc_status_put()
uvc_status_stop()
cancel_work_sync()
This will cause a deadlock, since cancel_work_sync will wait for
uvc_ctrl_status_event_work to complete before returning.
Fix this by returning early from uvc_status_stop if we are currently in
the work function. flush_status now remains false until uvc_status_start
is called again, ensuring that uvc_ctrl_status_event_work won't resubmit
the URB.

cedrus_probe() initializes the media device before registering the video
device, the media controller, and the media device. If any of those later
steps fails, probe returns without calling media_device_cleanup(), so the
media device internals initialized by media_device_init() are left behind.
Add a media-device cleanup label to the probe unwind path and route video
registration failures through it as well.

Add support for the RGA3 unit contained in the RK3588.
Only a basic feature set consisting of scaling and color conversion is
implemented. Currently unimplemented features include:
- Advanced formats like 10bit YUV, FBCE mode and Tile8x8 mode
- Background color (V4L2_CID_BG_COLOR)
- Configurable alpha value (V4L2_CID_ALPHA_COMPONENT)
- Image flipping (V4L2_CID_HFLIP and V4L2_CID_VFLIP)
- Image rotation (V4L2_CID_ROTATE)
- Image cropping/composing (VIDIOC_S_SELECTION)
- Only very basic output cropping for 1088 -> 1080 cases is implemented
The register address defines were copied from the
vendor Rockchip kernel sources and slightly adjusted to not start at 0
again for the cmd registers.
During testing it has been noted that the scaling of the hardware is
slightly incorrect. A test conversion of 128x128 RGBA to 256x256 RGBA
causes a slightly larger scaling. The scaling is suddle, as it seems
that the image is scaled to a 2px larger version and then cropped to
it's final size. Trying to use the RGA2 scaling factor calculation
didn't work. As the calculation matches the vendor kernel driver, no
further research has been utilized to check if there may be some kind of
better scaling factor calculation.
Furthermore comparing the RGA3 conversion with the GStreamer
videoconvertscale element, the chroma-site is different. A quick testing
didn't reveal a chroma-site that creates the same image with the
GStreamer Element. Also when converting from YUV to RGB the RGB values
differ by 1 or 2. This doesn't seem to be a colorspace conversion issue
but rather a slightly different precision on the calculation.

Disable multi-core support in preparation of the RGA3 addition. The
RK3588 SoC features two equal RGA3 cores. This allows scheduling of the
work between both cores, which is not yet implemented. Until it is
implemented avoid exposing both cores as independent video devices to
prevent an ABI breakage when multi-core support is added.
This patch is copied from the Hantro driver patch to disable multi core
support by Sebastian Reichel. See

In preparation to the RGA3 addition add feature flags, which can limit
the exposed feature set of the video device, like rotating or selection
support. This is necessary as the RGA3 doesn't initially implement the
full feature set currently exposed by the driver.

Move rga_fmt to rga-hw in preparation of the RGA3 addition, as the struct
contains many RGA2 specific values. They are used to write the correct
register values quickly based on the chosen format. Therefore the
pointer to the rga_fmt struct is kept but changed to an opaque void
pointer outside of the rga-hw.h.
To enumerate and set the correct formats, two helper functions need to
be exposed in the rga_hw struct:
enum_format just get's the vidioc_enum_fmt format and it's return value
is also returned from vidioc_enum_fmt. This is a simple pass-through,
as the implementation is very simple.
adjust_and_map_format is a simple abstraction around the previous
rga_find_format. But unlike rga_find_format, it always returns a valid
format. Therefore the passed format value is also a pointer to update
it in case the values are not supported by the hardware.
Due to the RGA3 supporting different formats on the capture and output
side, an additional parameter is_capture has been added to support
this use-case. The additional ctx parameter is also added to allow the
RGA3 to limit the colorimetry only if an RGB<->YCrCb transformation
happens.

Remove the stride variable from rga_frame. Despite the comment it
didn't involve any calculation and is just a copy of the
plane_fmt[0].bytesperline value. Therefore avoid this struct member
and use the bytesperline value directly in the places where it is
required.
Also drop the dependency on the depth format member, which was only
used to calculate the stride of the default format. This is already done
by the v4l2_fill_pixfmt_mp_aligned helper and used as stride in try_fmt.
Therefore using it's value also for the default format stride is just
more consistent.
