3cd5002807 KVM: selftests: Stop setting A/D bits when creating EPT PTEs
Stop setting Accessed/Dirty bits when creating EPT entries for L2 so that
the stage-1 and stage-2 (a.k.a. TDP) page table APIs can use common code
without bleeding the EPT hack into the common APIs.

While commit 0944442045 ("selftests: kvm: add test for dirty logging
inside nested guests") is _very_ light on details, the most likely
explanation is that vmx_dirty_log_test was attempting to avoid taking an
EPT Violation on the first _write_ from L2.

When handling read faults in the shadow MMU, KVM opportunistically creates
a writable SPTE if the mapping can be writable *and* the gPTE is dirty (or
doesn't support the Dirty bit), i.e. if KVM doesn't need to intercept
writes in order to emulate Dirty-bit updates.  By setting A/D bits in the
test's EPT entries, the above READ+WRITE will fault only on the read, and
in theory expose the bug fixed by KVM commit 1f4e5fc83a ("KVM: x86: fix
nested guest live migration with PML").  If the Dirty bit is NOT set, the
test will get a false pass due; though again, in theory.

However, the test is flawed (and always was, at least in the versions
posted publicly), as KVM (correctly) marks the corresponding L1 GFN as
dirty (in the dirty bitmap) when creating the writable SPTE.  I.e. without
a check on the dirty bitmap after the READ_ONCE(), the check after the
first WRITE_ONCE() will get a false pass due to the dirty bitmap/log having
been updated by the read fault, not by PML.

Furthermore, the subsequent behavior in the test's l2_guest_code()
effectively hides the flawed test behavior, as the straight writes to a
new L2 GPA fault also trigger the KVM bug, and so the test will still
detect the failure due to lack of isolation between the two testcases
(Read=>Write vs. Write=>Write).

Punt on fixing vmx_dirty_log_test for the moment as it will be easier to
properly fix the test once the TDP code uses the common MMU APIs, at which
point it will be trivially easy for the test to retrieve the EPT PTE and
set the Dirty bit as needed.

b320c03d68 KVM: selftests: Kill eptPageTablePointer
Replace the struct overlay with explicit bitmasks, which is clearer and
less error-prone. See commit f18b4aebe1 ("kvm: selftests: do not use
bitfields larger than 32-bits for PTEs") for an example of why bitfields
are not preferable.

Remove the unused PAGE_SHIFT_4K definition while at it.

No functional change intended.

97dfbdfea4 KVM: selftests: Stop passing a memslot to nested_map_memslot()
On x86, KVM selftests use memslot 0 for all the default regions used by
the test infrastructure. This is an implementation detail.
nested_map_memslot() is currently used to map the default regions by
explicitly passing slot 0, which leaks the library implementation into
the caller.

Rename the function to a very verbose
nested_identity_map_default_memslots() to reflect what it actually does.
Add an assertion that only memslot 0 is being used so that the
implementation does not change from under us.

No functional change intended.

985a96983b KVM: LoongArch: selftests: Add system registers save/restore on exception
When system returns from exception with ertn instruction, PC comes from
LOONGARCH_CSR_ERA, and CSR.CRMD comes LOONGARCH_CSR_PRMD.

Here save CSR register CSR.ERA and CSR.PRMD into stack, and then restore
them from stack. So it can be modified by exception handlers in future.

Call paths leading to __virt_pg_map() are currently:
(a) virt_pg_map() -> virt_arch_pg_map() -> __virt_pg_map()
(b) virt_map_level() -> __virt_pg_map()

For (a), calls to virt_pg_map() from kvm_util.c make sure they update
vm->vpages_mapped, but other callers do not. Move the sparsebit_set()
call into virt_pg_map() to make sure all callers are captured.

For (b), call sparsebit_set_num() from virt_map_level().

It's tempting to have a single the call inside __virt_pg_map(), however:
- The call path in (a) is not x86-specific, while (b) is. Moving the
  call into __virt_pg_map() would require doing something similar for
  other archs implementing virt_pg_map().

- Future changes will reusue __virt_pg_map() for nested PTEs, which should
  not update vm->vpages_mapped, i.e. a triple underscore version that does
  not update vm->vpages_mapped would need to be provided.

85f329df29 KVM: selftests: SYNC after guest ITS setup in vgic_lpi_stress
vgic_lpi_stress sends MAPTI and MAPC commands during guest GIC setup to
map interrupt events to ITT entries and collection IDs to
redistributors, respectively.

We have no guarantee that the ITS will finish handling these mapping
commands before the selftest calls KVM_SIGNAL_MSI to inject LPIs to the
guest. If LPIs are injected before ITS mapping completes, the ITS cannot
properly pass the interrupt on to the redistributor.

Fix by adding a SYNC command to the selftests ITS library, then calling
SYNC after ITS mapping to ensure mapping completes before signal_lpi()
writes to GITS_TRANSLATER.

feee9ef7ac KVM: selftests: Test for KVM_EXIT_ARM_SEA
Test how KVM handles guest SEA when APEI is unable to claim it, and
KVM_CAP_ARM_SEA_TO_USER is enabled.

The behavior is triggered by consuming recoverable memory error (UER)
injected via EINJ. The test asserts two major things:
1. KVM returns to userspace with KVM_EXIT_ARM_SEA exit reason, and
   has provided expected fault information, e.g. esr, flags, gva, gpa.
2. Userspace is able to handle KVM_EXIT_ARM_SEA by injecting SEA to
   guest and KVM injects expected SEA into the VCPU.

Tested on a data center server running Siryn AmpereOne processor
that has RAS support.

Several things to notice before attempting to run this selftest:
- The test relies on EINJ support in both firmware and kernel to
  inject UER. Otherwise the test will be skipped.
- The under-test platform's APEI should be unable to claim the SEA.
  Otherwise the test will be skipped.
- Some platform doesn't support notrigger in EINJ, which may cause
  APEI and GHES to offline the memory before guest can consume
  injected UER, and making test unable to trigger SEA.

a24f7afce0 KVM: selftests: fix MAPC RDbase target formatting in vgic_lpi_stress
Since GITS_TYPER.PTA == 0, the ITS MAPC command demands a CPU ID,
rather than a physical redistributor address, for its RDbase
command argument.

As such, when MAPC-ing guest ITS collections, vgic_lpi_stress iterates
over CPU IDs in the range [0, nr_cpus), passing them as the RDbase
vcpu_id argument to its_send_mapc_cmd().

However, its_encode_target() in the its_send_mapc_cmd() selftest
handler expects RDbase arguments to be formatted with a 16 bit
offset, as shown by the 16-bit target_addr right shift its implementation:

        its_mask_encode(&cmd->raw_cmd[2], target_addr >> 16, 51, 16)

At the moment, all CPU IDs passed into its_send_mapc_cmd() have no
offset, therefore becoming 0x0 after the bit shift. Thus, when
vgic_its_cmd_handle_mapc() receives the ITS command in vgic-its.c,
it always interprets the RDbase target CPU as CPU 0. All interrupts
sent to collections will be processed by vCPU 0, which defeats the
purpose of this multi-vCPU test.

Fix by creating procnum_to_rdbase() helper function, which left-shifts
the vCPU parameter received by its_send_mapc_cmd 16 bits before passing
it to its_encode_target for encoding.

29dc539d74 KVM: selftests: Report stacktraces SIGBUS, SIGSEGV, SIGILL, and SIGFPE by default
Register handlers for signals for all selftests that are likely happen due
to test (or kernel) bugs, and explicitly fail tests on unexpected signals
so that users get a stack trace, i.e. don't have to go spelunking to do
basic triage.

Register the handlers as early as possible, to catch as many unexpected
signals as possible, and also so that the common code doesn't clobber a
handler that's installed by test (or arch) code.

Add kvm_<sycall> wrappers for munmap(), close(), fallocate(), and
ftruncate() to cut down on boilerplate code when a sycall is expected
to succeed, and to make it easier for developers to remember to assert
success.

Implement and use a macro framework similar to the kernel's SYSCALL_DEFINE
infrastructure to further cut down on boilerplate code, and to drastically
reduce the probability of typos as the kernel's syscall definitions can be
copy+paste almost verbatim.

Provide macros to build the raw <sycall>() wrappers as well, e.g. to
replace hand-coded wrappers (NUMA) or pure open-coded calls.

a133052666 KVM: selftests: Fix irqfd_test for non-x86 architectures
The KVM_IRQFD ioctl fails if no irqchip is present in-kernel, which
isn't too surprising as there's not much KVM can do for an IRQ if it
cannot resolve a destination.

As written the irqfd_test assumes that a 'default' VM created in
selftests has an in-kernel irqchip created implicitly. That may be the
case on x86 but it isn't necessarily true on other architectures.

Add an arch predicate indicating if 'default' VMs get an irqchip and
make the irqfd_test depend on it. Work around arm64 VGIC initialization
requirements by using vm_create_with_one_vcpu(), ignoring the created
vCPU as it isn't used for the test.

f91187c0ec KVM: selftests: Add wrapper macro to handle and assert on expected SIGBUS
Extract the guest_memfd test's SIGBUS handling functionality into a common
TEST_EXPECT_SIGBUS() macro in anticipation of adding more SIGBUS testcases.
Eating a SIGBUS isn't terrible difficult, but it requires a non-trivial
amount of boilerplate code, and using a macro allows selftests to print
out the exact action that failed to generate a SIGBUS without the developer
needing to remember to add a useful error message.

Explicitly mark the SIGBUS handler as "used", as gcc-14 at least likes to
discard the function before linking.

Opportunistically use TEST_FAIL(...) instead of TEST_ASSERT(false, ...),
and fix the write path of the guest_memfd test to use the local "val"
instead of hardcoding the literal value a second time.

1c9604ba23 KVM: arm64: selftests: Alias EL1 registers to EL2 counterparts
FEAT_VHE has the somewhat nice property of implicitly redirecting EL1
register aliases to their corresponding EL2 representations when E2H=1.
Unfortunately, there's no such abstraction for userspace and EL2
registers are always accessed by their canonical encoding.

Introduce a helper that applies EL2 redirections to sysregs and use
aggressive inlining to catch misuse at compile time. Go a little past
the architectural definition for ease of use for test authors (e.g. the
stack pointer).

Add a PMU errata framework and use it to relax precise event counts on
Atom platforms that overcount "Instruction Retired" and "Branch Instruction
Retired" events, as the overcount issues on VM-Exit/VM-Entry are impossible
to prevent from userspace, e.g. the test can't prevent host IRQs.

Setup errata during early initialization and automatically sync the mask
to VMs so that tests can check for errata without having to manually
manage host=>guest variables.

For Intel Atom CPUs, the PMU events "Instruction Retired" or
"Branch Instruction Retired" may be overcounted for some certain
instructions, like FAR CALL/JMP, RETF, IRET, VMENTRY/VMEXIT/VMPTRLD
and complex SGX/SMX/CSTATE instructions/flows.

d166453ebd KVM: selftests: access_tracking_perf_test: Use MGLRU for access tracking
Use MGLRU's debugfs interface to do access tracking instead of
page_idle. The logic to use the page_idle bitmap is left in, as it is
useful for kernels that do not have MGLRU built in.

When MGLRU is enabled, page_idle will report pages as still idle even
after being accessed, as MGLRU doesn't necessarily clear the Idle folio
flag when accessing an idle page, so the test will not attempt to use
page_idle if MGLRU is enabled but otherwise not usable.

Aging pages with MGLRU is much faster than marking pages as idle with
page_idle.

c8631ea59b KVM: arm64: selftests: Explicitly set the page attrs to Inner-Shareable
Atomic instructions such as 'ldset' in the guest have been observed to
cause an EL1 data abort with FSC 0x35 (IMPLEMENTATION DEFINED fault
(Unsupported Exclusive or Atomic access)) on Neoverse-N3.

Per DDI0487L.a B2.2.6, atomic instructions are only architecturally
guaranteed for Inner/Outer Shareable Normal Write-Back memory. For
anything else the behavior is IMPLEMENTATION DEFINED and can lose
atomicity, or, in this case, generate an abort.

It would appear that selftests sets up the stage-1 mappings as Non
Shareable, leading to the observed abort. Explicitly set the
Shareability field to Inner Shareable for non-LPA2 page tables. Note
that for the LPA2 page table format, translations for cacheable memory
inherit the shareability attribute of the PTW, i.e. TCR_ELx.SH{0,1}.

The kvm selftest library for arm64 currently configures the hardware
fields, such as shift and mask in the page-table entries and registers,
directly with numbers. While it add comments at places, it's better to
rewrite them with appropriate macros to improve the readability and
reduce the risk of errors. Hence, introduce macros to define the
hardware fields and use them in the arm64 processor library.

Most of the definitions are primary copied from the Linux's header,
arch/arm64/include/asm/pgtable-hwdef.h.

No functional change intended.

16fc7cb406 KVM: selftests: Add infrastructure for getting vCPU binary stats
Now that the binary stats cache infrastructure is largely scope agnostic,
add support for vCPU-scoped stats.  Like VM stats, open and cache the
stats FD when the vCPU is created so that it's guaranteed to be valid when
vcpu_get_stats() is invoked.

Account for the extra per-vCPU file descriptor in kvm_set_files_rlimit(),
so that tests that create large VMs don't run afoul of resource limits.

To sanity check that the infrastructure actually works, and to get a bit
of bonus coverage, add an assert in x86's xapic_ipi_test to verify that
the number of HLTs executed by the test matches the number of HLT exits
observed by KVM.

Close/free a VM's binary stats cache when the VM is released, not when the
VM is fully freed.  When a VM is re-created, e.g. for state save/restore
tests, the stats FD and descriptor points at the old, defunct VM.  The FD
is still valid, in that the underlying stats file won't be freed until the
FD is closed, but reading stats will always pull information from the old
VM.

Note, this is a benign bug in the current code base as none of the tests
that recreate VMs use binary stats.

Use the kernel's canonical $(ARCH) paths instead of the raw target triple
for KVM selftests directories.  KVM selftests are quite nearly the only
place in the entire kernel that using the target triple for directories,
tools/testing/selftests/drivers/s390x being the lone holdout.

Using the kernel's preferred nomenclature eliminates the minor, but
annoying, friction of having to translate to KVM's selftests directories,
e.g. for pattern matching, opening files, running selftests, etc.

Opportunsitically delete file comments that reference the full path of the
file, as they are obviously prone to becoming stale, and serve no known
purpose.

Return a uint64_t from vcpu_get_reg() instead of having the caller provide
a pointer to storage, as none of the vcpu_get_reg() usage in KVM selftests
accesses a register larger than 64 bits, and vcpu_set_reg() only accepts a
64-bit value.  If a use case comes along that needs to get a register that
is larger than 64 bits, then a utility can be added to assert success and
take a void pointer, but until then, forcing an out param yields ugly code
and prevents feeding the output of vcpu_get_reg() into vcpu_set_reg().

5afe18dfa4 KVM: selftests: Don't bother deleting memslots in KVM when freeing VMs
When freeing a VM, don't call into KVM to manually remove each memslot,
simply cleanup and free any userspace assets associated with the memory
region.  KVM is ultimately responsible for ensuring kernel resources are
freed when the VM is destroyed, deleting memslots one-by-one is
unnecessarily slow, and unless a test is already leaking the VM fd, the
VM will be destroyed when kvm_vm_release() is called.

Not deleting KVM's memslot also allows cleaning up dead VMs without having
to care whether or not the to-be-freed VM is dead or alive.

8b14c4d85d KVM: selftests: Configure XCR0 to max supported value by default
To play nice with compilers generating AVX instructions, set CR4.OSXSAVE
and configure XCR0 by default when creating selftests vCPUs.  Some distros
have switched gcc to '-march=x86-64-v3' by default, and while it's hard to
find a CPU which doesn't support AVX today, many KVM selftests fail with

Alternatively, KVM selftests could explicitly restrict the compiler to
-march=x86-64-v2, but odds are very good that punting on AVX enabling will
