snd_timer_check_slave() still walks all registered timers and all open
timer instances to find a matching master for a newly opened slave.
Maintain a global list of open master instances that can accept slave
links and use it for the slave lookup path instead. This keeps the
existing matching semantics while avoiding the nested walk over
snd_timer_list and each timer open_list_head.
The reverse path in snd_timer_check_master() already scans only the
pending slave list, so this makes both lookup paths closer in shape
without changing the master/slave linking logic.

Normally the SDCA jack detection controls will be named after the GE
widget that represents the grouping of everything in the topology
controlled by the jack selection. However, in the case that the jack
selection only controls a single widget the control will be named after
the SU widget that implements that. It is rather confusing to have the
jack detection controls change naming scheme between devices. Add a new
widget type, similar to mixer widgets, to force use of the control name
rather than falling back to the widget names.
There is already a version of the mixer widget that forces use of the
specified control name, rather than factoring in the widget name. Add
the same feature for mux widgets.

__snd_pcm_set_state() writes runtime->state under the PCM stream lock.
However, the OSS I/O functions snd_pcm_oss_write3(), snd_pcm_oss_read3(),
snd_pcm_oss_writev3() and snd_pcm_oss_readv3() read runtime->state
without holding the stream lock, only holding oss.params_lock (a
different mutex that does not synchronize with the stream lock).
Since __snd_pcm_set_state() is called from IRQ context (e.g.,
snd_pcm_period_elapsed -> snd_pcm_update_state -> __snd_pcm_xrun ->
snd_pcm_stop -> snd_pcm_post_stop) while the OSS read/write paths
run in process context, these are concurrent accesses that constitute
a data race.
Rather than using READ_ONCE()/WRITE_ONCE() barriers, introduce a
snd_pcm_get_state() helper that reads runtime->state under the stream
lock, matching the locking discipline used elsewhere in the PCM layer.
Also export snd_pcm_set_state() for completeness.
Use snd_pcm_get_state() in all four OSS I/O functions, caching the
result in a local variable where the same snapshot is used for
multiple comparisons to avoid taking the lock repeatedly.

James Calligeros <jcalligeros99@gmail.com> says:
This series introduces some infrastructure to allow platform drivers
to specify what a DAI should be doing when it is not active on the
bus. The primary use case for this is configuring bus keepers which
may be integrated into various codecs. The instigating use case for
this functionality is an interesting bus topology on Apple Silicon
laptops with multiple codecs.
Most Apple Silicon laptops have six codecs split into groups of
three, driving a pair of dual opposed woofers and a tweeter for
L/R stereo sound. These codecs report the voltage and current across
their connected voice coils back to the SoC via the SDOUT pin,
represented as PCM data sent via configurable TDM slots. This data is
used in conjunction with the connected speaker's Thiele/Small Parameters
to ensure that the speaker is not being driven to levels that would
permanently damage them. This is integrated into CoreAudio on macOS.
speakersafetyd[1] handles this for Linux.
All of the codec SDOUT pins are attached to a single receiver port
on the SoC's I2S peripheral, however are split across two physical
data lines (one each for the left and right codec groups). The receiver
has an OR gate in front of it, which is used to sum the two lines.
If at any point a codec is trying to transmit data, and the "opposite"
line ends up floating high, the transmitting codec's data will be
corrupted. We need to guarantee that the idle line stays idle.
In the downstream Asahi Linux kernel[2], we set up one codec in each
group to zero-fill or pull down its line while a codec on the opposite
line is actively transmitting. This is done entirely in the codec
driver, however this approach is over-fit for this one use case. This
sort of functionality may also be of use for other hardware, so following
previous mailing list discussions[3], I have tried to expose the
functionality in a more configurable and generic way.
I have integrated this approach into our downstream platform driver
and select Devicetrees as an example of how this mechanism is intended
to be used[4].

Some audio devices, like certain Texas Instruments codecs, integrate
configurable bus keepers that dictate the codec's behaviour during
idle TDM slots. Now that we have definitions for various idle modes,
add a snd_soc_dai_set_tdm_idle() operation to control this in a
standardised way.
This is useful on Apple Silicon laptops, where a single I2S bus is
comprised of two physical lines which are ORed just before the
receiving port. When a codec on one line is transmitting, we must
guarantee that the other line is low. We can achieve this by
configuring one codec on each line to use its bus keeper to fill
its line with zeroes during the active slots of the other line.

Some audio devices, such as certain Texas Instruments codecs,
include configurable bus keepers. We currently don't have
a standardised way to configure such hardware, and instead
rely on the hardware initialising setting itself up into a
sane state. There are situations where this is insufficient,
however, and some platforms require more concrete guarantees
as to the state of the bus, and being able to explicitly
configure bus keepers enables this.
For example, some Apple Silicon machines have an odd bus topology where
the SDOUT pins of all codecs are split across two data lines, which
are summed via an OR gate in front of the receiving port on the
SoC's I2S peripheral. Each line must transmit 0 while a codec
on the other line is actively transmitting data, or the SoC
will receive garbage data. To do this, one codec on each line
must be configured to transmit zeroes during the other line's
active TDM slots.
Thus, we define seven possible bus-keeping modes that a device can
be in: NONE (UB/as initialised), OFF (explicitly disabled), ZERO
(actively transmit a 0), PULLDOWN, HIZ (floating), PULLUP, and
DRIVE_HIGH.
These will be consumed by CODEC/CPU drivers via a common DAI
op, enabling the explicit configuration of bus keepers where
required.

Move the ASP register patches to a separate struct and apply this from the
ASP DAI probe() function so that the registers are only patched if the DAI
is part of a DAI link.
Some systems use the ASP as a special-purpose interconnect and on these
systems the ASP registers are configured by a third party (the firmware,
the BIOS, or another device using the amp's secondary host control
interface).
If the machine driver does not hook up the ASP DAI then the ASP registers
must be omitted from the patch to prevent overwriting the third party
configuration.
If the machine driver includes the ASP DAI in a DAI link, this implies that
the machine driver and higher components (such as alsa-ucm) are taking
ownership of the ASP. In this case the ASP registers are patched to known
defaults and the machine driver should configure the ASP.

The put() operation is expected to return:
1) 0 on success if no changes were made
2) 1 on success if changes were made
3) error code otherwise
Currently 2) is usually ignored when writing control-operations. While
forcing compliance is not an option right now, make it easier for
developers to adhere to the expectations and notice problems by logging
them when CONFIG_SND_CTL_DEBUG is enabled.
Due to large size of struct snd_ctl_elem_value, 'value_buf' is provided
as a reusable buffer for kctl->put() verification. This prevents
exhausting the stack when verifying the operation.

When simple-audio-card programs sysclk for CPU and codec DAIs during
hw_params, the ordering of these calls may matter on some platforms.
Some CPU DAIs finalize or adjust the MCLK rate as part of their
set_sysclk() callback (for example by calling clk_set_rate()). If the
codec sysclk is configured before the CPU DAI applies the final MCLK
rate, the codec may configure its internal clocking based on a
non-final MCLK value.
Such situations can arise depending on the clock provider/consumer
relationship between the CPU DAI and the codec.
Introduce an explicit sysclk ordering enum in simple-card-utils and use
it to control the order of snd_soc_dai_set_sysclk() calls in the mclk-fs
handling path. The default behaviour remains unchanged (codec-first)
to avoid regressions.

Because struct snd_soc_dapm_context is soc-dapm framework specific, user
driver don't need to access its member directly, we would like to hide
them. struct snd_soc_dapm_context will be removed from header in the
future.
Current card/component are using dapm_context instance. But it will be
moved to soc-dapm.c, and we can use will be only pointer. Makes it to
pointer.

Add a function cs_amp_devm_get_vendor_specific_variant_id() to return
a vendor-specific hardware identifier string (if there is one) and use
it to fetch an identifier from Dell SSIDExV2 UEFI variable content.
Dell use the same PCI SSID on multiple products that might have different
audio hardware and thus need different firmware for the amplifier DSP.
The SSIDExV2 string contains additional system identifiers, and the
second field is a 2-character audio hardware identifier.
There are older Dell models with Cirrus Logic amplifiers that have the
SSIDExV2 UEFI variable but do not have the 2-character audio ID in the
second field. The SSIDExV2 is ignored if the second field is not
2 characters.

Testing and validation has been performed on Valve Steam Deck.
Merge series from Charles Keepax <ckeepax@opensource.cirrus.com>:
Some fixups to the jack handling, adding some necessary hooks to connect
things with the machine driver. I have split these out from the system
suspend chain as that has been generating a fair amount of discussion
and getting these 3 merged is far more important to get basic
functionality working smoothly. I will do a spin of the system suspend
stuff soon, if either no new comments pop up, or we reach some consensus
on how to proceed.
Add handling for the ASoC jack API to SDCA to allow user-space to be
hooked up normally.

The jack code is perhaps a bit large for being in the interrupt

jack handling code into a new c file, as is already done for HID

the jack state for improved expandability in the future.

When there is no fallback possibility available for the function topology
use it is better to try to create a profile for the card in best effort
manner, leaving out non supported links for example.
As an example: some laptops present SSPx-BT link but we don't have fragment
yet to support this. If we only have support for functional topology
without monolithic fallback then we would fail the card creation.
The reason why the monolithic topology works on the same device is that it
does not have the SSPx-BT link handled, it is ignored.
In case when there is no fallback possibility we should try to create the
card with links that we support as best effort instead of failing and
leaving the user without a card.

On system suspend / resume we always power up the DSP and boot the
firmware, which is not strictly needed as right after the firmware booted
up we power the DSP down again on suspend and we also power it down after
resume after some inactivity.
Out of caution, add a new platform descriptor flag to enable on-demand
DSP boot since this might not work without changes to platform code on
certain platforms.
With the on-demand dsp boot enabled we will not boot the DSP and firmware
up on system or rpm resume, just enable audio subsystem since audio IPs,
like HDA and SoundWire might be needed (codecs suspend/resume operation).
Only boot up the DSP during the first hw_params() call when the DSP is
really going to be needed.
In this way we can handle the audio related use cases:
normal audio use (rpm suspend/resume)
system suspend/resume without active audio
system suspend/resume with active audio
system suspend/resume without active audio, and audio start before the rpm
suspend timeout
Add module option to force the on-demand DSP boot to allow it to be
disabled or enabled without kernel change for testing.

Introduce a bus specific probe and remove function. For now this only
allows to get rid of a cast of the generic device to an snd_seq device
in the drivers and changes the remove prototype to return void---a
non-zero return value is ignored anyhow.
The objective is to get rid of users of struct device callbacks
.probe(), .remove() and .shutdown() to eventually remove these. Until
all snd_seq drivers are converted this results in a runtime warning
about the drivers needing an update because there is a bus probe
function and a driver probe function.

If the amp is still reporting FIRMWARE_MISSING after cs35l56_patch()
has completed it is helpful to log a warning.
After a complete firmware download the FIRMWARE_MISSING flag will be
clear. If this isn't the case, the driver should log a message to
report this.
The amp can produce basic audio output without firmware, as a fallback,
so this wasn't originally logged as a warning condition because the amp
is still in an operational state - just not with full functionality.
However, it was not at all obvious to an end user that anything is
unusual.

Currently the sof_sdw machine driver assumes that all devices involved
in the sound card are connected through a DAI link. However for SDCA
devices we still want the HID (Human Interface Device, used for jack
buttons) to be part of the sound card, but it contains no DAI links.
Add support into the machine driver to specify a list of auxiliary

There have been some complaints around the UCM files for SDCA
devices that the control system is quite hard to follow. This is
definitely true without the specification handy the naming can be
a little cryptic. However, as most of the information is parsed
from DisCo there are some limits to what the driver can safely do
to improve this.
However, one area that can be improved is the non-streaming
input/output terminals. These have a field (enum sdca_terminal_type)
that describes the usage of that terminal. These types can be
appended to the entity name to give the users a better clue as
to the purpose. For example "OT 43", would now become "OT 43
Headphone". This would follow through into the jack controls which
would change from "OT 43 Jack" to "OT 43 Headphone Jack", making the
purpose much more obvious to the user.
This provides slightly more readable controls without relying on
implicit knowledge that individual parts might not conform to.

Currently mute controls will be called "FU xx Mute Switch" (note
the switch is added programmatically outside the coverage of this
patch) and the accompanying volume control would be called "FU xx
Channel Volume". These names are taken from the SDCA specification,
however, this does not mesh well with the ALSA naming system. ALSA
generally expects enables rather than mutes and expects that mutes
and volumes have matching names.
Update the names and invert the mute controls to make them more
standard "FU XX Channel Switch", this does slightly deviate from
the SDCA specification but it makes the rest of the Linux ecosystem
a lot happier.

Merge series from Richard Fitzgerald <rf@opensource.cirrus.com>:
The CAL_SET_STATUS and CAL_DATA_RB controls are volatile and read-only, but
the existing ASoC macros to define controls don't allow setting access
permissions, so those controls were marked as non-volatile read/write.
These four patches fix that.
The first two patches add two new control macros to soc.h. I really don't
like codec drivers open-coding a kcontrol_new content for a control that
will be managed by the ASoC info/get/put handlers. If a new type of ASoC
control definition is needed it's better to have it in soc.h so all the
dependencies between ASoC and the kcontrol_new content are in one place.
Merge series from Charles Keepax <ckeepax@opensource.cirrus.com>:
This series adds an initial SDCA class driver, this consists of a
primary driver attached to the SoundWire device, and auxiliary drivers
representing each of the functions of the SDCA device. These drivers all
use the APIs added over the past series's to provide the class
functionality, as such these final drivers themselves are quite thin.
Also a few fix ups at the start of the series that have gathered up
whilst the last SDCA series was in review.
Use the auxiliary bus to register/unregister subdevices for each
function. Each function will be handled with a separate driver,
matched using a name.
If a vendor wants to override a specific function driver, they could
use a custom name to match with a custom function driver.

Currently, on ASUS projects, the TAS2781 codec attaches the speaker GPIO
to the first tasdevice_priv instance using devm. This causes
tas2781_read_acpi to fail on subsequent probes since the GPIO is already
managed by the first device. This causes a failure on Xbox Ally X,
because it has two amplifiers, and prevents us from quirking both the
Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X in the realtek codec driver.
It is unnecessary to attach the GPIO to a device as it is static.
Therefore, instead of attaching it and then reading it when loading the
firmware, read its value directly in tas2781_read_acpi and store it in
the private data structure. Then, make reading the value non-fatal so
that ASUS projects that miss a speaker pin can still work, perhaps using
fallback firmware.

Add an ALSA control (CAL_DATA) that can be used to restore amp calibration,
instead of using debugfs. A readback control (CAL_DATA_RB) is also added
for factory testing.
On ChromeOS the process that restores amp calibration from NVRAM has
limited permissions and cannot access debugfs. It requires an ALSA control
that it can write the calibration blob into. ChromeOS also restricts access
to ALSA controls, which avoids the risk of accidental or malicious
overwriting of good calibration data with bad data. As this control is not
needed for normal Linux-based distros it is a Kconfig option.
A separate control, CAL_DATA_RB, provides a readback of the current
calibration data, which could be either from a write to CAL_DATA or the
result of factory production-line calibration.
The write and read are intentionally separate controls to defeat "dumb"
save-and-restore tools like alsa-restore that assume it is safe to save
all control values and write them back in any order at some undefined
future time. Such behavior carries the risk of restoring stale or bad data
over the top of good data.

Adjust the error codes returned by the calibration debugfs files
to provide a wider range of errors and make them more consistent.
There is a limited number of standard errors and it's not always
easy to find an error code that accurately describes what happened.
Additionally, user code often uses strerror() or something similar
to report a generic error description. The original calibration
code used a limited set of errors to attempt to avoid user error
strings that would be confusing or unclear on a file read/write.
However, this restricts the ability to provide informative errors.
This limited error range didn't help very much with debugging so
it has been expanded, rather than worrying about what strerror()
would return.
The errors are now more consistent:
ENXIO Calibration is not supported by the driver.
EOPNOTSUPP The given calibration command is not supported.
EBUSY Cannot calibrate because the amp is playing audio.
ERANGE Calibration result was out-of-range.
ETIMEDOUT Calibration did not complete.
EMSGSIZE Blob written to cal_data is the wrong size.
ENODATA No calibration data available to read from cal_data,
or
Blob written to cal_data does not contain calibration,
or

indicating that firmware controls are missing.

Merge series from Charles Keepax <ckeepax@opensource.cirrus.com>:
Next installment of the SDCA changes, hopefully the next series after
this should be the full class driver. It is worth noting this series has
a build dependency on a patch working its way through the PM/ACPI tree:
commit ac46f5b6c6 ("ACPICA: Add SoundWire File Table (SWFT) signature")
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/rafael/linux-pm.git
But we can probably worry about that later, as normally there is a
reasonable amount of review on these SDCA series'.
This series broadly breaks down into 3 chunks, first there are several
changes to remove the assumption that the struct device used for SDCA
purposes represents the SoundWire slave. This is because the SDCA class
driver will be made of an auxiliary driver for each SDCA Function, thus
the SoundWire slave will be on the parent device for each individual
driver. Then there are patches to add support for UMP/FDL. And then
finally since the rest of the HID support is there and UMP was the last
missing part required a small patch to add a function to allow reporting
of HID events from SDCA devices.
Merge series from Richard Fitzgerald <rf@opensource.cirrus.com>:
Until now, all products with an amplifier supported by the cs35l56 driver
have shipped with Microsoft Windows pre-installed. The factory calibration
of speaker protection has therefore been done using the Windows driver.
However, products that ship with a Linux-based distro must be able to
perform the factory calibration procedure from within the Linux-based
environment. This patch series adds that support.
NOTE: unfortunately this is yet another series that is mainly ASoC but
also needs some changes to the HDA driver, and they have build dependencies
on the ASoC code. I suggest taking this all through Mark's tree and we'll
avoid sending any other commits to the HDA driver until it has all landed
in Takashi's tree.
Now full support for the UMP buffers is available, it is possible to
read the SDCA HID descriptors from the device and pass them to
user-space. Add a helper function to process HID events from an SDCA
device.

Add cs_amp_set_efi_calibration_data() to write an amp calibration
blob to UEFI calibration variable.
The UEFI variable will be updated or created as necessary.
- If a Vendor-specific variable exists it will be updated,
else if the Cirrus variable exists it will be update
else the Cirrus variable will be created.
Some collateral changes are required:
- cs_amp_convert_efi_status() now specifically handles
EFI_WRITE_PROTECTED error.
- cs_amp_get_cal_efi_buffer() can optionally return the name,
guid and attr of the variable it found.
- cs_amp_get_cal_efi_buffer() will update the 'size' field of
the returned data blob if it is zero. The BIOS could have
pre-allocated the UEFI variable as zero-filled

Add a pointer argument to cs_amp_get_efi_variable() to optionally
return the EFI variable attributes.
Originally this function internally consumed the attributes from
efi.get_variable(). The calling code did not use the attributes
so this was a small simplification.
However, when writing to a pre-existing variable we would want to
pass the existing attributes to efi.set_variable(). This patch
deals with the change to return the attribute in preparation for
adding code to update the variable.

Add core code to support factory calibration. This can be used by both
the ASoC and HDA drivers.
This code consists of implementations of debugfs handlers for three
debugfs files used to start factory calibration and read the results.
This is not a full implementation of debugfs files. There are some
requirements to synchronize with the rest of the amp driver, and the way
this is done is significantly different between ASoC and HDA. Therefore
cs35l56-shared.c provides the main part of the file handlers, but the
files themselves are defined in the ASoC and HDA drivers with suitable
handling before calling into this shared code.
The cal_data file allows the calibration to be read and also for a
previous calibration to be written (for systems where the storage is not
something directly accessible to drivers, such as on filesystems). Code
outside the kernel should treat the content of cal_data as an opaque blob,
so the struct definition is not exported as a user API.

Add helper functions for performing factory calibration.
cs_amp_read_cal_coeffs() reads the results of a calibration into a
struct cirrus_amp_cal_data. The calTime member is also filled in with
the current time (which is defined to be in Windows format).
cs_amp_write_ambient_temp() writes a given temperature value to the
firmware control for ambient temperature.
The cs_amp_cal_target_u64() has been moved into the header file so
that it can be used by the calling code and by KUnit tests.
cs_amp_create_debugfs() creates a debugfs directory to contain
debugfs files related to calibration. This is placed in a directory
in debugfs root, named "cirrus_logic". The purpose of this is to
make it easier for tooling to find the files it needs by keeping
control of the layout under this directory. By contrast the ASoC
debugfs can vary between kernel releases and doesn't have a strictly
stable naming convention. HDA does not have a debugfs directory at all
and enabling the general ALSA debugfs (which is normally disabled) has
other side-effects.

Note that marking it non-volatile without a default in regmap isn't
a suitable alternative because this causes regcache_sync() to always
write the cached value out to the registers. This could trigger a bus

However, with the mechanism, we need to create the snd_soc_acpi_link_adr

almost all Intel platforms with SOF and we can load required topology
file dynamically today. In other words, we can use sof_sdw machine

no need to create snd_soc_acpi_link_adr table for every new audio
configs.
To achieve it, we need to drop the const for some members and edit the
link adr and acpi adr data to match the data from the ACPI table.

driver don't need to access its member directly, we would like to hide
them. struct snd_soc_dapm_context will be removed from header in the
future.
Now, snd_soc_dapm_to_component() (A) will convert dapm to component by
container_of() (a).
(A) static inline struct snd_soc_component *snd_soc_dapm_to_component(
struct snd_soc_dapm_context *dapm)
{
(a) return container_of(dapm, struct snd_soc_component, dapm);
}
dapm of component works, but dapm of card will be "unknown" pointer
(= not NULL), because (a) is using "container_of()".
OTOH, ASoC will call snd_soc_dapm_init() (X) to initialize dapm, and
it will be called from snd_soc_bind_card() (p) (for card) or
soc_probe_component() (q) (for component) with component pointer.
(p) static int snd_soc_bind_card(...)
{
...
(X) snd_soc_dapm_init(..., NULL);
... ^^^^
}
(q) static int soc_probe_component(...)
{
...
(X) snd_soc_dapm_init(..., component);
... ^^^^^^^^^
}
And snd_soc_dapm_init() (X) will fill dapm->component (x)
(X) void snd_soc_dapm_init(..., component, ...)
{
...
(x) dapm->component = component;
...
}
We can simply use dapm->component in snd_soc_dapm_to_component() (A).
In this case, dapm of card (p) will be just NULL.
Use dapm->component instead of container_of().

The copied_total field in struct snd_compr_tstamp is a 32-bit
value that can overflow on long-running high-bitrate streams,
leading to incorrect calculations for buffer availablility.
This patch adds a 64-bit safe timestamping mechanism.
A new UAPI struct, snd_compr_tstamp64, is added which uses 64-bit
types for byte counters. The relevant ops structures across the
ASoC and core compress code are updated to use this new struct.
ASoC drivers are updated to use u64 counters.
Internal timestamps being u64 now, a compatibility function is added
to convert the 64-bit timestamp back to the 32-bit format for legacy
ioctl callers.

We have 2 similar functions, both converts date from snd_kcontrol to
snd_soc_component.
(A) snd_soc_kcontrol_component()
(B) snd_soc_dapm_kcontrol_component()
(A) is just wrapper for snd_kcontrol_chip().
(B) is for more complex conversion.
Having similar functions is confusable. So (A) will be replaced to
original snd_kcontrol_chip(). (B) will be stay, but the function
name should be xx_to_xx().
And it is defined at soc-component.h. It should be implemented at
soc-dapm.c.
This patch renames it to snd_soc_dapm_kcontrol_to_component(), and
move to soc-dapm.c.

places. This patch introduces simple auto-cleanup macros for those
call patterns, so that the drivers don't have to call the
corresponding power-down calls explicitly.
Namely,
err = snd_hda_power_up(codec);
if (err < 0)
return err;
....
snd_power_down(codec);
can drop the *_down() call by replacing with
CLASS(snd_hda_power, pm)(codec);

polarity for reset-gpios, so all should work as expected with this patch.

Now that all patch_ops usage have been converted to the new
hda_codec_ops probe, we can drop patch_ops from the hda_codec,
together with the calls of patch_ops callbacks.
The hda_codec_ops.free callback is removed as all have been replaced
with the new remove callback.
Also, correct comments mentioning "patch"; it's replaced with "codec
driver".

Until now, we use "patch_ops" embedded in hda_codec object for
defining the callbacks that are used in various places to manage
HD-audio codec. But from the device driver POV, this should have been
rather the driver ops, instead of the callbacks in the codec object.
This patch defines the driver ops for HD-audio codec driver as the
replacement. We reuse the same struct hda_codec_ops, and this is put
as hda_codec_driver.ops. When the driver->ops callbacks are defined,
they are called primarily instead of codec->patch_ops callbacks.
With converting to the driver ops, there is no need to pass the ugly
patch_ops handling in hda_device_id tables. That is, driver_data
field of hda_device_id becomes really optional and it can be used for
passing the codec-specific data (e.g. specifying a model).
The codec entries after the conversion should be with HDA_CODEC_ID()
and co, instead of the former HDA_CODEC_ENTRY().
Once after converting all codec drivers to use driver ops, we can get
rid of codec patch_ops.

The get_wcaps() and co are used not only by HD-audio core but also
other driver code, hence it'd be better to put into the common header
instead of local.h.
OTOH, there are macros of the same name like get_wcaps() that are
still used in sound/pci/hda/* locally, and those conflict with each
other. So we need to rename get_wcaps() (to be moved from hda-core)
with the proper snd_hdac prefix for avoiding name conflicts, and
define in the common hdaudio.h.

Because header defined randomly, it needs name definitions on top of
soc-dapm.h. it is not needed if definitions are implemented in correct
order.
This patch has big change from change-line point of view, but is
just reordering, nothing changed in meaning.

No one is using snd_soc_dapm_weak_routes(), let's remove it.
Because snd_soc_dapm_weak_routes() was removed, path->weak is not
needed either. Remove it, too.

snd_soc_dapm_nc_pin() was added in commit 5817b52a29 ("ALSA: ASoC: Allow
machine drivers to mark pins as not connected") at 2008.
It is identical to snd_soc_dapm_disable_pin[_unlocked](). It was expected
to be updated, but were enough as-is for this 17 years.
We might update these, but renaming function name by define is enough
for now. We can re-create these if needed in the future. Let's remove it.

Merge series from Charles Keepax <ckeepax@opensource.cirrus.com>:
Add a maintainers entry for SDCA, do a couple of small fixups for
previous chains, and then adding the beginnings of the SDCA IRQ
handling. This is based around a regmap IRQ chip and a few helper
functions that can be called from the client drivers to setup the
IRQs.
Add basic IRQ handlers for the function status and jack detection
interrupts.

Add a library supporting usage of SDCA interrupts, using regmap irq
framework. The library adds functions for parsing ACPI for
interrupt-related information, configuring irq chip and requesting
individual irqs. Calling code (SDCA function code) is expected to also
substitute the library's base irq handler for its own, appropriate
callback.

Merge series from Bard Liao <yung-chuan.liao@linux.intel.com>:
The series adds support for combined speaker components with one "spk:"
tag in the card->components string. This is a UCM request.
Currently the sdw machine driver uses different way to get the
component name from the DAI name for different codecs in the rtd_init
callback. It means that we need to rely on the rtd_init callback to get
the component name. Add an optional component string to the
asoc_sdw_dai_info struct allows the machine driver to get the component
name directly.
The commit adds the component names for the AMP dais for the preparation
to set card->components string for combined speaker configs.
