bpf: Reject passing scalar NULL to nonnull arg of a global subprog
A global subprogram argument tagged __arg_nonnull is set up as a
non-nullable PTR_TO_MEM. However the verifier does not check against a
scalar NULL, leading to real NULL pointer dereference. Reject it as

bpf: Fix tracing of kfuncs with implicit args
A kfunc marked with KF_IMPLICIT_ARGS flag takes implicit arguments
(such as bpf_prog_aux) that the verifier injects at load time.
resolve_btfids strips those from the kfunc's BTF-visible prototype and
keeps the real kernel ABI in a counterpart _impl prototype [1].
fentry/fexit/fmod_ret/fsession programs may attach to the BPF kernel
functions, including those with implicit args. However
bpf_check_attach_target() and bpf_check_attach_btf_id_multi() extract
the struct btf_func_model from the wrong BTF prototype of the
kfunc. The btf_func_model is later read to construct the trampoline,
which then causes the injected implicit argument to be clobbered and
the kfunc dereferencing garbage.
Add btf_attach_func_proto() to resolve the real ABI prototype of the
kfunc the way the call site does: by looking up the _impl prototype
for a KF_IMPLICIT_ARGS kfunc. Use it at both attach-target model
construction sites.
To enable this, make two supporting changes:
* pass bpf_verifier_log instead of bpf_verifier_env to
find_kfunc_impl_proto(), so it can be reused from the attach path
* add btf_kfunc_check_flag() to test a flag across all of a kfunc's
hook sets, because a program attaching to a kfunc is not in the
kfunc's call-set
KF_IMPLICIT_ARGS must be consistent across the sets, so
btf_kfunc_check_flag() returns -EINVAL on inconsistency.
btf_kfunc_check_flag() reads the kfunc's flags from the target's
kfunc_set_tab. For a module BTF that table is stable only after the
module is live, so take a module reference around the read, mirroring
how the kfunc call path gates the same lookup with btf_try_get_module().
The remaining call sites of btf_distill_func_proto() are safe as
is. The BPF_TRACE_ITER case distills a registered iterator's
prototype, and bpf_struct_ops_desc_init() distills the
function-pointer members of a struct_ops type. Neither is a kfunc, and
so can't have implicit arguments.

bpf: Prefer dirty packs for eBPF allocations
The pack allocator only flushes predictors when reusing a dirty pack for cBPF, eBPF allocations never trigger a flush. Currently, eBPF picks the first free pack, which could be a clean pack. As an optimization, leaving a clean pack for cBPF can avoid flushes. Prefer dirty packs for eBPF and keep clean packs free for cBPF. This mirrors the existing cBPF preference for clean packs: each program kind prefers the pack that avoids an extra flush, and falls back to the other kind only when no preferred pack has room. eBPF reuse of a dirty pack is harmless since eBPF being privileged does not flush. bpf: Prefer packs that won't trigger an IBPB flush on allocation
Currently BPF pack allocator picks the chunks from the first available
pack. While this is okay, it naturally leads to more frequent flushes
when there are multiple packs in the system that weren't used since the
last flush.
As an optimization prefer allocating the new programs from packs that
are unused since last flush. When all packs are dirty, allocation forces
a flush and marks all packs clean.
Below are some future optimizations ideas:
1. Currently, the "dirty" tracking is only done at the pack-level.
Flush frequency can further be reduced with chunk-level tracking.
This requires a new bitmap per-pack to track the dirty state.
2. IBPB flush is done on all CPUs, even if only a single CPU ran the
BPF program. On a system with hundreds of CPUs this could be a
major bottleneck forcing hundreds of IPIs to deliver the flush.
The solution is to track the CPUs where a BPF program ran, and
issue IBPB only on those CPUs.
3. Avoid IBPB when flush is already done at other sources (e.g.
context switch).

bpf: Skip redundant IBPB in pack allocator
bpf_prog_pack_alloc() issues IBPB on all CPUs on every cBPF allocation, even when reusing chunks from an existing pack where no new memory was touched since the last IBPB. Since IBPB on all CPUs is heavy, Dave Hansen suggested to track allocation since last IBPB, and only issue IBPB at reuse for the chunks that have not seen an IBPB since they were last freed. Track per-pack whether an IBPB is needed via arch_flush_needed. Set it when allocating a chunk, reset on IBPB flush. On reuse, conditionally issue the flush. Since IBPB invalidates all BTB entries, clear the flag on all packs after flushing. bpf: Restrict JIT predictor flush to cBPF
Currently predictor flush on memory reuse is done for all BPF JIT allocations, but only cBPF programs can be loaded by an unprivileged user. eBPF is privileged by default, and flushing predictors for all CPUs on every eBPF reuse penalizes the common case for no security benefit. eBPF allocations can be frequent on busy systems, only flush predictors for cBPF programs. Trampoline and dispatcher allocations also skip the flush as they are eBPF-only. bpf: Support for hardening against JIT spraying
The BPF JIT allocator packs many small programs into larger executable allocations and reuses space within those allocations as programs are loaded and freed. When fresh code is written into space that a previous program occupied, an indirect jump into the new program can reuse a branch prediction left behind by the old one. Flush the indirect branch predictors before reusing JIT memory so that indirect jumps into a newly written program don't reuse predictions from an old program that occupied the same space. Introduce bpf_arch_pred_flush_enabled static key and bpf_arch_pred_flush static call for flushing the branch predictors on JIT memory reuse. Architectures that need a flush, can update it to a predictor flush function. By default, its a NOP and does not emit any CALL. Allocations larger than a pack are not covered by this flush. That is safe because cBPF programs (the unprivileged attack surface) are bounded well below a pack size. Issue a warning if this assumption is ever violated while the flush is active. bpf: Reject BPF_MAP_TYPE_INODE_STORAGE creation if BPF LSM is uninitialized
When CONFIG_BPF_LSM=y is set, BPF inode storage maps
(BPF_MAP_TYPE_INODE_STORAGE) are compiled into the kernel. However,
if the BPF LSM is not explicitly enabled at boot time (e.g. omitted
from the "lsm=" boot parameter), lsm_prepare() is never executed for
the BPF LSM.
Consequently, the BPF inode security blob offset
(bpf_lsm_blob_sizes.lbs_inode) is never initialized and remains at
its default compiled size of 8 bytes instead of being updated to a
valid offset past the reserved struct rcu_head (typically 16 bytes
or more).
When a privileged user creates and updates a BPF_MAP_TYPE_INODE_STORAGE
map, bpf_inode() evaluates inode->i_security + 8. This erroneously
aliases the struct rcu_head.func callback pointer at the beginning
of the inode->i_security blob. During subsequent map element cleanup
or inode destruction, writing NULL to owner_storage clears the queued
RCU callback pointer. When rcu_do_batch() later executes the queued
callback, it attempts an instruction fetch at address 0x0, triggering
an immediate kernel panic.
Fix this by introducing a global bpf_lsm_initialized boolean flag
marked with __ro_after_init. Set this flag to true inside bpf_lsm_init()
when the LSM framework successfully registers the BPF LSM. Gate map
allocation in inode_storage_map_alloc() on this flag, returning
-EOPNOTSUPP if the BPF LSM is in turn uninitialized.
This fail-fast approach prevents userspace from allocating inode
storage maps when the supporting BPF LSM infrastructure is absent,
avoiding zombie map states.

bpf: Fix insn_aux_data leak on verifier err_free_env path
When bpf_check() allocates env->insn_aux_data successfully but later
fails to allocate env->succ, it jumps directly to err_free_env.
The existing vfree(env->insn_aux_data) sits before the err_free_env
label, so that direct jump bypasses it and leaks insn_aux_data.
Move vfree(env->insn_aux_data) into err_free_env so all early and late
exit paths release it consistently.

print_bpf_insn() masks ldimm64 immediates for pointer-bearing pseudo sources when pointer leaks are not allowed, but the mask only covers BPF_PSEUDO_MAP_FD and BPF_PSEUDO_MAP_VALUE. BPF_PSEUDO_MAP_IDX, BPF_PSEUDO_MAP_IDX_VALUE, and BPF_PSEUDO_BTF_ID can also be resolved to kernel pointer values before the verifier log prints the instruction. bpf: Reject offset refcount acquire arguments
bpf_refcount_acquire() increments the refcount at the caller-supplied
pointer plus the refcount field offset, then returns the caller-supplied
pointer unchanged.
The verifier records the return value as a base pointer to the refcounted
object.
bpf_list_pop_front() and bpf_rbtree_remove() can return embedded
graph-node pointers as PTR_TO_BTF_ID | MEM_ALLOC with a fixed offset equal
to the node field offset. Passing such a pointer directly to
bpf_refcount_acquire() currently passes the refcounted-kptr type check.
That makes the runtime operation start from base + node_off while the
verifier models the returned pointer as the object base.
Require refcount-acquire arguments to have zero fixed offset by carrying
the requirement through check_func_arg_reg_off() to __check_ptr_off_reg().
Programs can still acquire a refcount from a graph-node-derived pointer
after normalizing it with container_of().

bpf: Disable xfrm_decode_session hook attachment
BPF LSM programs can currently attach to xfrm_decode_session(). That
hook may return an error, but security_skb_classify_flow() calls it
from a void path and triggers BUG_ON() if an error is returned.
Disable BPF attachment to the hook to prevent a BPF LSM program from
turning packet classification into a full panic.

bpf: Reset register bounds before narrowing retval range in check_mem_access()
When the BPF verifier processes a context load of an LSM hook return
value, it calls __mark_reg_s32_range() to narrow the register to the
hook's valid range. However, __mark_reg_s32_range() intersects the new
range with the register's existing bounds using max_t()/min_t() rather
than replacing them.
If the destination register carries stale bounds from a prior instruction
(e.g. BPF_MOV64_IMM), the intersection can produce a range narrower than
reality. The verifier then believes it knows the register's exact value,
while at runtime the actual hook return value is loaded, creating a
verifier/runtime mismatch that can be used to bypass BPF memory safety
checks.
The else branch already calls mark_reg_unknown() to reset register state
before any narrowing. Apply the same reset in the is_retval path so
stale bounds are cleared before __mark_reg_s32_range() intersects.

bpf: Preserve pointer spill metadata during half-slot cleanup
__clean_func_state() cleans dead stack slots in 4-byte halves. When the
high half of a STACK_SPILL slot is dead and the low half remains live,
cleanup converts the live low half to STACK_MISC or STACK_ZERO and clears
the saved spilled_ptr metadata.
That conversion is safe only for scalar spills. For a pointer spill, this
metadata clear lets a later 32-bit fill from the still-live half avoid the
normal non-scalar register-fill check and be treated as an ordinary scalar
stack read.
Leave non-scalar spill slots intact in this half-live shape. This is
conservative for pruning and preserves the existing
check_stack_read_fixed_off() rejection path for partial fills from pointer
spills.

bpf: Fix effective prog array index with BPF_F_PREORDER
replace_effective_prog() and purge_effective_progs() located the slot in
the effective array by walking the program hlist and counting entries
linearly. That count does not match the array layout: compute_effective_
progs() places BPF_F_PREORDER programs at the front (ancestor cgroup
first, attach order within a cgroup) and the rest after them (descendant
cgroup first). So when a preorder program is present, the linear hlist
position no longer equals the program's index in the effective array.
For replace_effective_prog() (bpf_link_update()) this overwrote the
wrong slot, corrupting the effective order. For purge_effective_progs(),
it could dummy out a slot belonging to a different program and leave the
detached program in the array while bpf_prog_put() drops its reference,
i.e. a use-after-free.
Fix both by replaying compute_effective_progs()'s placement (including
the per-cgroup preorder reversal) in a shared effective_prog_pos()
helper. Identify the entry by its struct bpf_prog_list pointer rather
than by (prog, link) value, so the lookup resolves to exactly the
attachment the syscall selected even when the same bpf_prog is attached
to several cgroups in the hierarchy.

llvm commit [1] allowed attaching type tag records to modifier BTF records. This is useful for using typedefs that encompass a base type and a type tag, e.g.: typedef struct rbtree __arena rbtree_t; Modify btf_check_type_tags() so that it allows this sequence of records. The function now only checks for record loops in BTF modifier record chains. Rename to btf_check_modifier_chain_length to reflect this. Also expand the BTF modifier traversal code to take into account that type record can be interleaved with other modifier records. In effect this means traversing all modifiers to collect the type tags. Also modify existing selftests to now accept modifier records (const, typedef) that point to type tag records. When BPF_WRITE goes through a PTR_TO_BTF_ID register, check_ptr_to_btf_access() delegates to env->ops->btf_struct_access(). Most implementations (bpf_scx_btf_struct_access, tc_cls_act_btf_struct_access, etc.) return -EACCES for disallowed fields without logging anything, so the verifier rejects the program with an empty message. For example a scx program doing 1: R1=trusted_ptr_task_struct() ... 4: (7b) *(u64 *)(r1 +0) = r2 verification time 83 usec the program is rejected leaves the user guessing which field is off-limits. bpf: Fix build_id caching in stack_map_get_build_id_offset()
This patch is a follow up to recent implementation of
stack_map_get_build_id_offset_sleepable() [1].
stack_map_get_build_id_offset() and its sleepable variant each cached
only the last successfully resolved VMA, with separate bookkeeping in
each function. A run of IPs in a VMA with no usable build ID will
repeat the lookup for every frame: find_vma() in the non-sleepable
path, a VMA lock and a blocking build_id_parse_file() in the sleepable.
Factor the per-call cache into a shared struct stack_map_build_id_cache
with two independent slots [2][3], used by both functions:
* resolved - last VMA that produced a build ID (file, build_id and
range), reused to skip the lookup and the parse;
* unresolved - last VMA with no usable build ID (range only), reused to
emit a raw IP without another lookup or parse.
Keeping the slots independent means a build-ID-less VMA no longer evicts
the last resolved build ID, so a trace alternating between a binary and a
region without one stops re-resolving the binary on every return.
The shared lookup tests [vm_start, vm_end), matching the sleepable path;
the non-sleepable path previously reused a build ID for ip == vm_end
(range_in_vma() is inclusive) and now re-resolves it correctly.

bpf: Fix stack slot index in nospec checks
check_stack_write_fixed_off() computes the byte slot for a fixed-offset
stack write as -off - 1, and records each written byte in slot_type[] with
(slot - i) % BPF_REG_SIZE.
The Spectre v4 sanitization pre-check uses slot_type[i] instead. For a
4-byte write at fp-8 after the lower half of fp-8 has been zeroed, the
pre-check scans bytes 0..3 and sees STACK_ZERO while the actual write updates
bytes 7..4. That can leave the second half-slot write without nospec_result
even though the bytes being overwritten still require sanitization.
Use the same slot index in the sanitization pre-check that the write path uses
when updating slot_type[].

bpf: Add support to specify uprobe_multi target via file descriptor
Allow uprobe_multi link to identify the target binary by an already opened file descriptor. Adding new BPF_F_UPROBE_MULTI_PATH_FD flag and the path_fd field for the attr.link_create.uprobe_multi struct. When the flag is set, we resolve the target from path_fd, without the flag, we keep the existing string path behavior. I don't see a use case for supporting O_PATH file descriptors, because we need to read the binary first to get probes offsets, so I'm using the CLASS(fd, f), which fails for O_PATH fds. bpf: Fix setting retval to -EPERM for cgroup hooks not returning errno
When a cgroup BPF program exits with 0, bpf_prog_run_array_cg() sets
the hook return value to -EPERM if it is not a valid errno. This is
correct for errno-based hooks, which return 0 on success and negative
errno on failure, but wrong for boolean and void LSM hooks. Boolean
LSM hooks should only return true or false, and void LSM hooks have
no return value at all.
Fix it by skipping setting -EPERM for hooks not returning errno.

bpf: Run generic devmap egress prog on private skb
Generic XDP devmap multi redirect uses skb_clone() for intermediate
destinations and sends the last destination with the original skb. This
can leave multiple destinations sharing the same packet data.
This becomes visible after generic devmap egress-program support was
added: a devmap egress program may mutate packet data, and another
destination sharing the same data can observe that mutation.
Native XDP broadcast redirect does not have this issue because
xdpf_clone() copies the frame data for each destination. Generic XDP
should provide the same per-destination isolation before running a
devmap egress program.
Fix this by making cloned skbs private before running the generic devmap
egress program. Use skb_copy() instead of skb_unshare() so allocation
failure does not consume the skb and the existing caller error paths keep
their ownership semantics.

bpf: Cancel special fields on map value recycle
Map update and delete paths currently call bpf_obj_free_fields() when a
value is being replaced or recycled. That makes field destruction depend
on the context of the update/delete operation. For tracing programs this
can include NMI context, where referenced kptr destructors, uptr
unpinning, and graph root destruction are not generally safe.
Introduce bpf_obj_cancel_fields() for the reusable-value path. It only
performs NMI-safe cleanup for timer, workqueue, and task_work fields.
Fields that need full destruction are left attached to the recycled value
and are destroyed by the final cleanup path instead.
Switch array and hashtab update/delete/recycle paths to this cancel
helper. Keep bpf_obj_free_fields() for final map destruction and for
bpf_mem_alloc destructors. Preallocated hashtabs do not have allocator
destructors, so teardown continues to walk the normal and extra elements
and fully destroy their fields.
This deliberately relaxes the eager-free semantics of map update/delete
for special fields. Programs that relied on a recycled map slot becoming
empty immediately after update/delete were relying on behavior that
cannot be implemented safely from every BPF execution context without
offloading arbitrary destructors.
There is a chance this change breaks programs making assumptions
regarding the eager freeing of fields. If so, we can relax semantics to
cancellation only when irqs_disabled() is true in the future. However,
theoretically, map values that get reused eagerly already have weaker
guarantees as parallel users can recreate freed fields before the new
element becomes visible again.

bpf: Reject bpf_obj_drop() from tracing progs
bpf_obj_drop() runs bpf_obj_free_fields() synchronously for
program-allocated objects. When such an object contains NMI unsafe
fields, tracing programs that can run from arbitrary instrumented
context can reach that destruction from unsafe contexts, including NMI.
NMI is likely one instance of this problem, and other instances would
include possible unsafe reentrancy. Deferring bpf_obj_drop() is not
appealing either: it would add delayed-free machinery to a release
operation that otherwise has straightforward synchronous ownership
semantics.
Reject bpf_obj_drop() and bpf_percpu_obj_drop() from tracing programs
that may run from unsafe contexts unless every field in the object's BTF
record is explicitly NMI safe. Do not reject sleepable
BPF_PROG_TYPE_TRACING programs, since they are not the arbitrary/NMI
contexts that motivate the restriction.
Note that while bpf_rb_root and bpf_list_head would be NMI safe on their
own to free, the objects recursively held by them may not be; be
conservative and just mark them as not NMI safe for now.
Use a whitelist for the NMI-safe field set instead of listing only known
NMI unsafe fields. Locks, async fields, unreferenced kptrs, and
refcounts are known to be NMI safe because their destruction is either a
no-op, simple state reset, or async cancellation. Referenced kptrs,
percpu referenced kptrs, uptrs, graph roots, graph nodes, and any future
field type are rejected until audited for arbitrary tracing and NMI
contexts. This is less susceptible to future changes in fields that were
previously safe by exclusion, and to new fields being added without
updating this check.
Convert the existing recursive local-object drop success case to a
syscall program in the same commit, since this verifier change makes the
old tracing program form invalid. The test still exercises
bpf_obj_drop() releasing a referenced task kptr from a safe program
type.

bpf: Allow sleepable programs to use LPM trie maps directly
The previous change relaxed the rcu_dereference annotations in lpm_trie.c so the trie walks no longer trip lockdep when reached from a sleepable BPF program holding only rcu_read_lock_trace(). By itself that only helps tries reached as the inner map of a map-of-maps, or from the classic-RCU syscall path: a sleepable program that references an LPM trie directly is still rejected at load time by check_map_prog_compatibility(), whose sleepable whitelist omits BPF_MAP_TYPE_LPM_TRIE: Sleepable programs can only use array, hash, ringbuf and local storage maps LPM trie nodes are allocated from a bpf_mem_alloc (trie->ma) and freed with bpf_mem_cache_free_rcu(), which chains a regular RCU grace period into a Tasks Trace grace period before the node -- and the value embedded in it that trie_lookup_elem() returns to the program -- is released. That is the same reclaim discipline BPF_MAP_TYPE_HASH relies on for sleepable access, so a value handed to a sleepable reader cannot be freed while the program is still running under rcu_read_lock_trace(). The writer paths take trie->lock across the walk and never relied on the RCU read-side lock to keep nodes alive. Add BPF_MAP_TYPE_LPM_TRIE to the sleepable map whitelist so these programs can use LPM tries directly. bpf: Allow LPM map access from sleepable BPF programs
trie_lookup_elem() annotates its rcu_dereference_check() walks with
only rcu_read_lock_bh_held(). Because rcu_dereference_check(p, c)
resolves to "c || rcu_read_lock_held()", this passes for XDP/NAPI and
classic RCU readers but fails for sleepable BPF programs, which enter
via __bpf_prog_enter_sleepable() and hold only rcu_read_lock_trace().
trie_update_elem() and trie_delete_elem() have the same problem in a
different form: they walk the trie with plain rcu_dereference(), which
asserts rcu_read_lock_held() unconditionally. Both are reachable from
sleepable BPF programs via the bpf_map_update_elem / bpf_map_delete_elem
helpers, and from the syscall path under classic rcu_read_lock(). In
the writer paths the trie is actually protected by trie->lock (an
rqspinlock taken across the walk); we never relied on the RCU read-side
lock to keep nodes alive there.
A sleepable LSM hook that ends up touching an LPM trie therefore
triggers lockdep on debug kernels:

This is lockdep-only -- no UAF, since Tasks Trace RCU does serialize
against the trie's reclaim path -- but it spams the console once per
distinct callsite on every debug kernel running a sleepable BPF LSM
that touches an LPM trie, which is increasingly common.
For the lookup path, switch the rcu_dereference_check() annotation
from rcu_read_lock_bh_held() to bpf_rcu_lock_held(), which accepts all
three contexts (classic, BH, Tasks Trace). Other map types already
follow this convention.
For trie_update_elem() and trie_delete_elem(), annotate the walks as
rcu_dereference_protected(*p, 1) -- matching trie_free() in the same
file -- since trie->lock is held across the walk. rqspinlock has no
lockdep_map, so the predicate degenerates to '1' rather than
lockdep_is_held(&trie->lock); the protection is real but not
machine-verifiable. trie_get_next_key() also uses bare
rcu_dereference() but is reachable only from the BPF syscall, which
holds classic rcu_read_lock() before dispatching, so it is left
untouched.

bpf: Enforce write checks for BTF pointer helper access
check_mem_reg() verifies both read and write access for global subprogram
memory arguments. When the caller register is PTR_TO_BTF_ID,
check_helper_mem_access() currently forwards the access to
check_ptr_to_btf_access() as BPF_READ regardless of the requested access
type.
This lets a BTF-backed kernel object field pointer pass the caller-side
writable memory check for a global subprogram argument. The callee is then
validated with a generic writable PTR_TO_MEM argument and can store through
it, even though an equivalent direct BTF field store is rejected with "only
read is supported".
Forward the requested access type to check_ptr_to_btf_access().
This enforces existing BTF write restrictions for global subprogram memory
arguments as well.

bpf: Validate BTF repeated field counts before expansion
btf_parse_struct_metas() walks user-supplied BTF during BPF_BTF_LOAD,
and btf_repeat_fields() expands repeatable fields from array elements
into the fixed BTF_FIELDS_MAX scratch array used by btf_parse_fields().
The remaining-capacity check performs the expanded field count calculation
in u32. A malformed BTF can wrap that calculation, causing the check to
pass even when the expanded field count exceeds the scratch array
capacity. The following memcpy() can then write past the end of the
array.
Use checked addition and multiplication before copying repeated fields
and reject impossible counts.

bpf: Keep dynamic inner array lookups nullable
An ARRAY_OF_MAPS can use an array created with BPF_F_INNER_MAP as its
inner map template. A concrete inner array with a different max_entries
value can then replace the template.
After a successful outer map lookup, the verifier represents the
resulting map pointer using the inner map template. Const-key lookup
nullness elision consequently uses the template max_entries even though
the runtime helper uses the concrete inner map max_entries.
Do not elide lookup result nullness for maps marked with BPF_F_INNER_MAP,
because the template max_entries does not prove that the key is in bounds
for the concrete runtime map.

bpf: Fix NMI/tracepoint re-entry deadlock on lru locks
NMI and tracepoint BPF programs can re-enter the per-CPU or global
LRU lock that bpf_lru_pop_free()/push_free() already hold on the
same CPU, AA-deadlocking. Lockdep reports "inconsistent
{INITIAL USE} -> {IN-NMI}" on &l->lock (syzbot c69a0a2c816716f1e0d5)
and "possible recursive locking detected" on &loc_l->lock (syzbot
18b26edb69b2e19f3b33).
Prior trylock and rqspinlock based fixes (see links) were nacked
because compromised on reliability.
This patch converts every LRU lock site to rqspinlock_t and adds a
recovery path for some failure windows to avoid node leaks.
Failure recovery:
- *_pop_free top-level: return NULL; prealloc_lru_pop() already
treats that as no-free-element (-ENOMEM).
- Cross-CPU steal: skip the victim's locked loc_l, try next CPU.
- Post-steal local lock fail: publish stolen node to lockless
per-CPU free_llist; next pop on this CPU picks it up.
- push_free fail: mark node pending_free=1. __local_list_flush(),
__local_list_pop_pending() reclaim the node from pending_list.
__bpf_lru_list_shrink_inactive() reclaims the node from inactive
list. Nodes from active list are reclaimed by __bpf_lru_list_shrink()
or after __bpf_lru_list_rotate_active() demotes it to the inactive.

Adding new link to allow to attach program to multiple function
BTF IDs. The link is represented by struct bpf_tracing_multi_link.
To configure the link, new fields are added to bpf_attr::link_create
to pass array of BTF IDs;

Adding bpf_trampoline_multi_attach/detach functions that allows to attach/detach tracing program to multiple functions/trampolines. The attachment is defined with bpf_program and array of BTF ids of functions to attach the bpf program to. Adding bpf_tracing_multi_link object that holds all the attached trampolines and is initialized in attach and used in detach. The attachment allocates or uses currently existing trampoline for each function to attach and links it with the bpf program. bpf: Add multi tracing attach types
Adding new program attach types multi tracing attachment: BPF_TRACE_FENTRY_MULTI BPF_TRACE_FEXIT_MULTI and their base support in verifier code. Programs with such attach type will use specific link attachment interface coming in following changes. This was suggested by Andrii some (long) time ago and turned out to be easier than having special program flag for that. Bpf programs with such types have 'bpf_multi_func' function set as their attach_btf_id and keep module reference when it's specified by attach_prog_fd. They are also accepted as sleepable programs during verification, and the real validation for specific BTF_IDs/functions will happen during the multi link attachment in following changes. bpf: Add struct bpf_tramp_node object
Adding struct bpf_tramp_node to decouple the link out of the trampoline
attachment info.
At the moment the object for attaching bpf program to the trampoline is
'struct bpf_tramp_link':

The link holds the bpf_prog pointer and forces one link - one program
binding logic. In following changes we want to attach program to multiple
trampolines but we want to keep just one bpf_link object.
Splitting struct bpf_tramp_link into:

struct bpf_tramp_node node;
};
struct bpf_tramp_node {
struct bpf_link *link;
struct hlist_node tramp_hlist;
u64 cookie;
};
The 'struct bpf_tramp_link' defines standard single trampoline link
and 'struct bpf_tramp_node' is the attachment trampoline object with
pointer to the bpf_link object.
This will allow us to define link for multiple trampolines, like:
