The remain_on_channel, mgmt_tx, and probe_peer ops previously used
a u64 *cookie output parameter. Now that cfg80211 pre-assigns the
cookie value before invoking drivers, the parameter conveys a value
from caller to driver, not the other way around. Convert it to a
plain u64 input parameter across the ops struct (cfg80211.h),
rdev-ops.h wrappers, nl80211.c/mlme.c call sites, mac80211, and
all driver implementations.
The tx_control_port op is excluded: its cookie pointer is nullable
(passed as NULL when dont_wait_for_ack is set), so the nullable
pointer semantics are still required.
Internal mac80211 helpers ieee80211_start_roc_work() and
ieee80211_attach_ack_skb() still take u64 *cookie because they
assign to the pointee; their callers now pass &cookie to take the
address of the local value parameter.
wil6210's internal wil_p2p_listen() is also updated to take u64
cookie since it is called directly from the remain_on_channel
callback.

Currently, we accept per-STA GTK for any interface type
if the IBSS_RSN flag is set, which doesn't make sense,
and also accept various key indices that aren't really
(meant to be) supported, such as IGTK/BIGTK on IBSS or
AP_VLAN etc.
For MESH and NAN_DATA interface types, per-STA GTKs are
required, so their support shouldn't depend on IBSS_RSN.
Conversely a driver setting IBSS_RSN doesn't really say
it also accepts per-STA GTK for other interface types.
Move more checks into cfg80211_valid_key_idx() and make
them more precise:
- allow IGTK and, if supported, BIGTK for NAN
- allow per-STA (RX) GTK only for
- NAN_DATA
- IBSS if IBSS_RSN is supported
- MESH
- allow B/I/GTK for station/P2P-client without mac_addr
for RX with the current AP (historic API quirk),
subject to support
- allow TX GTK for AP/P2P-GO/AP_VLAN
- allow TX IGTK/BIGTK for AP/P2P-GO subject to support
Other settings are rejected, clearing up corner cases
and disallowing unexpected settings.

nl80211_netlink_notify() walks the cfg80211 wireless device list when a
NETLINK_GENERIC socket is released. If the socket owns a connection, the
notifier queues the embedded wdev->disconnect_wk work item.
That work is a plain work_struct today. NETDEV_GOING_DOWN cancels it, but a
NETLINK_URELEASE notifier that already observed conn_owner_nlportid can
queue it after that cancel returns. _cfg80211_unregister_wdev() then
removes the wdev from the list and waits for RCU readers, but
synchronize_net() does not drain work queued by such a reader.
Make the autodisconnect work a wiphy_work instead. The callback already
needs the wiphy mutex, and wiphy_work runs under that mutex. This lets
teardown cancel pending autodisconnect work while holding the mutex,
without a cancel_work_sync() vs. worker locking concern.
Also cancel the wiphy work after list_del_rcu() and synchronize_net(). Any
NETLINK_URELEASE notifier that had already reached the wdev list has then
either queued the work and it is removed, or can no longer find the wdev.

When a netlink socket that owns a PMSR session is closed,
cfg80211_release_pmsr() clears the request's nl_portid and queues
pmsr_free_wk to call cfg80211_pmsr_process_abort() asynchronously.
If the interface tears down concurrently, cfg80211_pmsr_wdev_down()
is called under wiphy_lock and calls cancel_work_sync(&pmsr_free_wk)
to wait for any running work. The work function acquires wiphy_lock
via guard(wiphy) before calling process_abort.
This is a deadlock: wdev_down holds wiphy_lock and blocks inside
cancel_work_sync(); pmsr_free_wk blocks trying to acquire that same
wiphy_lock. Neither thread can proceed.
The same deadlock is reachable from cfg80211_leave_locked(), which
calls cfg80211_pmsr_wdev_down() for all interface types under
wiphy_lock.
Fix this by converting pmsr_free_wk from a plain work_struct to a
wiphy_work. The wiphy_work dispatcher holds wiphy_lock when running
work items, so the explicit guard(wiphy) in the work function is no
longer needed. wiphy_work_cancel() can be called safely while holding
wiphy_lock - since wiphy_lock prevents the work from running
concurrently, wiphy_work_cancel() never blocks, eliminating the
deadlock.
Remove the cancel_work_sync() for pmsr_free_wk from the
NETDEV_GOING_DOWN handler. cfg80211_leave(), called unconditionally
just before it, already cancels any pending work under wiphy_lock
via wiphy_work_cancel() inside cfg80211_pmsr_wdev_down().

Add an nl80211 API to allow user space to configure the local NAN
schedule.
The local schedule consists of a list of channel definitions and a schedule
map, in which each element covers a time slot and indicates on what
channel the device should be in that time slot.
Channels can be added to schedule even without being scheduled, for
reservation purposes.
A schedule can be configured either immedietally or be deferred, in case
there are already connected peers.
When the deferred flag is set, the command is a request from the device
to perform an announced schedule update: send the updated NAN
Availability - as set in this command - to the peers, and do the
actual switch to the new schedule on the right time (i.e. at the end of
the slot after the slot in which the update was sent to the peers).
In addition, a notification will be sent to indicate a deferred update
completion.

Currently, whenever cfg80211_stop_iface() is called, the entire iface
is stopped. However, there could be a need in AP/P2P_GO mode, where
one would like to stop a single link in MLO operation instead of the
whole MLD interface.
Hence, introduce cfg80211_stop_link() to allow drivers to tear down
only a specified AP/P2P_GO link during MLO operation. Passing -1
preserves the existing behavior of stopping the whole interface. Make
cfg80211_stop_iface() call this function by passing -1 to keep the
default behavior the same, that is, to stop all links and use
cfg80211_stop_link() with the desired link_id for AP/P2P_GO mode, to
stop only that link.
This brings no behavioral change for single-link/non-MLO interfaces,
and enables drivers to stop an AP/P2P_GO link without disrupting other
links on the same interface.

If an interface is set down or, per the previous patch, changes
type, radar detection for it should be cancelled. This is done
for AP mode in mac80211 (somewhat needlessly, since cfg80211 can
do it, but didn't until now), but wasn't handled for mesh, so if
radar detection was started and then the interface set down or
its type switched (the latter sometimes happning in the hwsim
test 'mesh_peer_connected_dfs'), radar detection would be around
with the interface unknown to the driver, later leading to some
warnings around chanctx usage.

Sometimes there may be reasons for which a BSS that's
actually found in scan cannot be used to connect to,
for example a nonprimary link of an NSTR mobile AP MLD
cannot be used for normal direct connections to it.
Not indicating these to userspace as we do now of course
avoids being able to connect to them, but it's better if
they're shown to userspace and it can make an appropriate
decision, without e.g. doing an additional ML probe.
Thus add an indication of what a BSS can be used for,
currently "normal" and "MLD link", including a reason
bitmap for it being not usable.
The latter can be extended later for certain BSSes if there
are other reasons they cannot be used.

My prior race fix here broke CQM when ranges aren't used, as
the reporting worker now requires the cqm_config to be set in
the wdev, but isn't set when there's no range configured.
Rather than continuing to special-case the range version, set
the cqm_config always and configure accordingly, also tracking
if range was used or not to be able to clear the configuration
appropriately with the same API, which was actually not right
if both were implemented by a driver for some reason, as is
the case with mac80211 (though there the implementations are
equivalent so it doesn't matter.)
Also, the original multiple-RSSI commit lost checking for the
callback, so might have potentially crashed if a driver had
neither implementation, and userspace tried to use it despite
not being advertised as supported.

In 4way handshake offload, cfg80211_port_authorized enables driver
to indicate successful 4way handshake to cfg80211 layer. Currently
this path of port authorization is restricted to interface type
NL80211_IFTYPE_STATION and NL80211_IFTYPE_P2P_CLIENT. This patch
extends the support for NL80211_IFTYPE_AP and NL80211_IFTYPE_P2P_GO
interfaces to authorize peer STA/P2P_CLIENT, whenever authentication
is offloaded on the AP/P2P_GO interface.

cfg80211 has cfg80211_chandef_dfs_usable() function to know whether
at least one channel in the chandef is in usable state or not. Also,
cfg80211_chandef_dfs_cac_time() function is there which tells the CAC
time required for the given chandef.
Make these two functions visible to drivers by exporting their symbol
to global list of kernel symbols.
Lower level drivers can make use of these two functions to be aware
if CAC is required on the given chandef and for how long. For example
drivers which maintains the CAC state internally can make use of these.

Max Schulze reports crashes with brcmfmac. The reason seems
to be a race between userspace removing the CQM config and
the driver calling cfg80211_cqm_rssi_notify(), where if the
data is freed while cfg80211_cqm_rssi_notify() runs it will
crash since it assumes wdev->cqm_config is set. This can't
be fixed with a simple non-NULL check since there's nothing
we can do for locking easily, so use RCU instead to protect
the pointer, but that requires pulling the updates out into
an asynchronous worker so they can sleep and call back into
the driver.
Since we need to change the free anyway, also change it to
go back to the old settings if changing the settings fails.

Since we're now protecting everything with the wiphy mutex
(and were really using it for almost everything before),
there's no longer any real reason to have a separate wdev

This might seem pretty pointless rather than changing the locking
immediately, but it seems safer to run for a while with checks and
the old locking scheme, and then remove the wdev lock later.

Prepare for the coming implementation by GCC and Clang of the __counted_by
attribute. Flexible array members annotated with __counted_by can have
their accesses bounds-checked at run-time checking via CONFIG_UBSAN_BOUNDS
(for array indexing) and CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE (for strcpy/memcpy-family
functions).
As found with Coccinelle[1], add __counted_by for struct cfg80211_cqm_config.

STA MLD setup links may get removed if AP MLD remove the corresponding
affiliated APs with Multi-Link reconfiguration as described in
P802.11be_D3.0, section 35.3.6.2.2 Removing affiliated APs. Currently,
there is no support to notify such operation to cfg80211 and userspace.
Add support for the drivers to indicate STA MLD setup links removal to
cfg80211 and notify the same to userspace. Upon receiving such
indication from the driver, clear the MLO links information of the
removed links in the WDEV.

Add a work abstraction at the cfg80211 level that will always
hold the wiphy_lock() for any work executed and therefore also
can be canceled safely (without waiting) while holding that.
This improves on what we do now as with the new wiphy works we
don't have to worry about locking while cancelling them safely.
Also, don't let such works run while the device is suspended,
since they'll likely need to interact with the device. Flush
them before suspend though.

The race described by the comment in mac80211 hasn't existed
since the locking rework to use the same lock and for MLO we
need to pass the AP MLD address, so just pass the BSSID or

all the code accordingly.

Today it makes more sense to pass the necessary parameters to
look up the BSS entry to cfg80211_mlme_assoc(), but with MLO
we will need to look up multiple, and that gets awkward. Pull
the lookup code into the callers so we can change it better.

In order to support multi-link operation with multiple links,
start adding some APIs. The notable addition here is to have
the link ID in a new nl80211 attribute, that will be used to
differentiate the links in many nl80211 operations.
So far, this patch adds the netlink NL80211_ATTR_MLO_LINK_ID
attribute (as well as the NL80211_ATTR_MLO_LINKS attribute)
and plugs it through the system in some places, checking the
validity etc. along with other infrastructure needed for it.
For now, I've decided to include only the over-the-air link
ID in the API. I know we discussed that we eventually need to
have to have other ways of identifying a link, but for local
AP mode and auth/assoc commands as well as set_key etc. we'll
use the OTA ID.
Also included in this patch is some refactoring of the data
structures in struct wireless_dev, splitting for the first
time the data into type dependent pieces, to make reasoning
about these things easier.

We haven't used this function for years, since commit c781944b71
("cfg80211: Remove unused cfg80211_can_use_iftype_chan()") which
itself removed a function unused since commit 97dc94f1d9
("cfg80211: remove channel_switch combination check"), almost eight
years ago.
Also remove the now unused enum cfg80211_chan_mode and some struct
members that were only used for this function.
