Store the SRCIMP imapper entries in the SRCIMP resource allocation
instead of allocating a separate array.
This keeps the mapper table tied to the SRCIMP lifetime and removes
the extra allocation and cleanup paths.

The C400/C600 interfaces have a large output gain knob which attenuates
the outputs as stereo pairs (1/2, 3/4 and 5/6). The Windows driver/app
provides a control to disable this knob/behaviour on any/all outputs,
forcing maximum gain on each.
The 'disable behaviour' is desirable if any outputs are being used for
aux/effects sends, or if interface is being used as a live/matrix mixer.
This patch adds a control to select which output pairs are affected by
the Output Gain Knob. Default behaviour is to select all outputs.
Tested on the C600, likely also works for the C400.

Store MIDI channel entries in the MIDI channel set allocation instead
of allocating them separately.
This ties the channel array lifetime directly to the channel set, removes
a separate allocation failure path, and lets __counted_by() describe the
array bounds. Move the embedded emux channel set to the end of its
containing structure so it can carry the flexible array.

The recent OSS runtime->state locking cleanup converted the OSS I/O
paths to use snd_pcm_get_state(), but a few ioctl-side checks in
pcm_native.c still sample runtime->state directly: the prepare
pre-checks, the early drain open-state check, and the common
snd_pcm_kernel_ioctl() disconnected check.
Use snd_pcm_get_state() for those remaining samples. In
snd_pcm_pre_prepare(), keep a single state snapshot and reuse it for
both the OPEN/DISCONNECTED check and the running-state test.

TAS2781 HDA I2C and SPI queue RCA firmware loading from component
bind with request_firmware_nowait(). The firmware loader keeps the
callback module pinned and holds a device reference, but the callback
still uses driver-private HDA state.
Component unbind removes controls and DSP state immediately. Later
device removal tears down the TAS2781 private data, including
codec_lock. If the async firmware callback runs after unbind has
started, it can operate on state that is being torn down.
Cancel or synchronize the async firmware request before removing
controls and DSP state. A queued callback is cancelled, and an
already-running callback is allowed to finish before unbind continues.

request_firmware_nowait() keeps the callback module pinned and holds
a device reference until the firmware work completes.
Callers still have no way to cancel or synchronize the queued callback
before tearing down their driver-private state.
Track scheduled async firmware work in an internal list and add
request_firmware_nowait_cancel(). The helper cancels work matching the
device, callback context and callback function. It cancels work that has
not started yet and waits for an already-running callback to return. If
the request has already completed, it is a no-op.
Keep the existing request_firmware_nowait() lifetime model manual. A
devres-managed variant can be layered on top separately if needed.

In get_term_name(), remove hard-coded return values and a strlen() call,
and return the number of bytes copied by strscpy() directly.
Since get_term_name() may now return -E2BIG on string truncation, check

needed. Also replace strlcat() with strscpy().
Other get_term_name() callers only check the return value for non-zero

... and PCI device helpers.
The various struct pci_device_id arrays were initialized mostly by list
expressions, some of them using the PCI_DEVICE macros. This isn't easily
readable if you're not into PCI. Using named initializers is more
explicit and thus easier to parse. Also use PCI_DEVICE* helper macros to
assign .vendor, .device, .subvendor and .subdevice where appropriate and
skip explicit assignments of 0 (which the compiler takes care of).
The secret plan is to make struct pci_device_id::driver_data an
anonymous union (similar to
https://lore.kernel.org/all/cover.1776579304.git.u.kleine-koenig@baylibre.com/)
and that requires named initializers. But it's also a nice cleanup on
its own.

sq_write() currently clears POST and then immediately appends
to the current rear fragment.
If the queue already contains complete fragments ahead of that
incomplete tail, playback is not kicked until the queue-full wait
path or the final sq_play() at the end of the write. That wastes
the slack those queued samples would otherwise provide while the driver
spends more time copying and translating more data into the tail fragment.
All in-tree dmasound playback backends still refuse to queue
an incomplete last fragment while !syncing, but they can start
earlier complete fragments.
Call sq_play() immediately after clearing POST and before extending
the rear fragment so already-queued complete output can start earlier.

The WaveFront driver still lacks support for suspend and resume
in both the ISA and PnP driver tables.
Wire the driver into ALSA PM by storing the WSS codec pointer in the card
private data and adding shared suspend/resume callbacks. Resume cannot
simply rerun snd_wavefront_start(), because with the default fx_raw=1
setting that would reset the synth on every resume and discard uploaded
WaveFront RAM contents.
Cache wavefront.os for PM, probe the ICS2115 after resume and only run
the full reset/bootstrap path when the board comes back raw. When the
firmware is still running, refresh the software slot bookkeeping and
restore the MIDI routing state without forcing a synth reset.
Also quiesce and restart the WaveFront MIDI output timer across suspend
and resume so active rawmidi output does not race the PM transition.
This restores the card to a usable baseline after resume while preserving
uploaded samples and programs when the hardware state survives suspend.
If the board resumes raw, userspace still needs to reload custom synth
contents.

firmware the driver supports on each device. With the config_sets

The Scarlett 2i2 Gen 4 firmware 2417 moved the direct monitor gain
parameters, so we now need to allow each device to list multiple
scarlett2_config_set entries, one per applicable firmware version
range, and pick the matching one at probe time.
No functional change yet: each device gets a single config_sets
entry whose from_firmware_version matches the existing
min_firmware_version (0 where none was set). This both prepares for
selection and lets a follow-up commit remove the now-redundant
min_firmware_version field.

snd-miro has no PM callbacks, so system resume leaves the OPTi
master-control registers and the board-specific ACI mixer state
unrestored.
Like snd-opti9xx, the driver needs to reprogram the OPTi routing
registers before bringing the codec back. snd-miro also keeps mixer
state in the ACI block, so the codec resume callback alone is not
enough here. Save the ACI mixer state on suspend, reinitialize the
OPTi and ACI state on resume, replay the saved ACI values, and then
resume the WSS codec. Hook the PM handlers into both the ISA and PnP
paths.
Also initialize miro->card on the ISA path for the existing dev_*()
logging and keep the cached solo-mode value aligned with the value
written to hardware.
PCM20 radio tuner state remains outside this driver's PM scope.

Initial SoC Slider support
SoC Slider is an SoC-wide power/performance policy setting.
On SoC Slider systems, EPP plays a diminished role.
Whitespace cleanup via: indent -npro -kr -i8 -ts8 -sob -l160 -ss -ncs -cp1
No functional changes
Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
x86_energy_perf_policy accesses the SoC Slider via standard
user/kernel APIs to the processor_thermal_soc_slider driver.
Machines that support SoC Slider largely use it instead of EPP,
which may continue to exist in a diminished role, or vanish entirely.
Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
When processor_thermal_soc_slider is loaded, its slider
and offset modparams are visible. Check that the driver
actually registered the profile named "SoC Slider" before
reading or writing these modparams.
n.b. This utility allows writing the Slider and Offset modparams
even if the driver policy is not "balanced". Currently the
processor_thermal_soc_slider consults those modparams
only in "balanced" mode.

On Raspberry Pi 3B, the VEC clock is used by the VideoCore firmware
display driver, which remains active until the vc4 driver loads and
sends NOTIFY_DISPLAY_DONE. If this clock is disabled during boot, a bus
lockup happens and the firmware becomes unresponsive, causing a complete
system lockup.
Mark the VEC clock with CLK_IGNORE_UNUSED so it survives the unused
clock disablement and remains available until the vc4 driver takes over
display management.

- Fix accounting of persistent ring buffer rewind
On boot up, the head page is moved back to the earliest point of
the saved ring buffer. This is because the ring buffer being read by
user space on a crash may not save the part it read. Rewinding the head
page back to the earliest saved position helps keep those events from
being lost.
The number of events is also read during boot up and displayed in the
stats file in the tracefs directory. It's also used for other accounting
as well. On boot up, the "reader page" is accounted for but a rewind may
put it back into the buffer and then the reader page may be accounted
for again.
Save off the original reader page and skip accounting it when scanning
the pages in the ring buffer.

- Fix for a NOMMU bug with io_uring, where NOMMU doesn't grab page refs
at mmap time. NOMMU also has entirely broken FOLL_PIN support, yet
here we are
- A few fixes covering minor issues introduced in this merge window
- data race annotation to shut up KCSAN for when io-wq limits are
applied
- A nospec addition for direct descriptor file updating. Rest of the
direct descriptor path already had this, but for some reason the
update did not. Now they are all the same
- Various minor defensive changes that claude identified and suggested
terrible fixes for, turned into actually useful cleanups:
- Use kvfree() for the imu cache. These can come from kmalloc or
vmalloc depending on size, but the in-cache ones are capped
where it's always kmalloc based. Change to kvfree() in the
cleanup path, making future changes unlikely to mess that up
- Negative kbuf consumption lengths. Can't happen right now, but
cqe->res is used directly, which if other codes changes could
then be an error value
- Fix for an issue with the futex code, where partial wakes on a
vectored fuxes would potentially wake the same futex twice, rather
than move on to the next one. This could confuse an application as it
would've expected the next futex to have been woken
- Fix for a bug with ring resizing, where SQEs or CQEs might not have
been copied correctly if large SQEs or CQEs are used in the ring.
Application side issue, where SQEs or CQEs might have been lost
during resize
- Fix for a bug where EPOLL_URING_WAKE might have been lost, causing a
multishot poll to not be terminated when it's nested, like it should
have been
- Fix for an issue with signed comparison of poll references for the
slow path
- Fix for a user struct UAF in the zcrx code

Merge tag 'ntfs-for-7.1-rc1-part2' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linkinjeon/ntfs
Pull ntfs updates from Namjae Jeon:
- Fix potential data leakage by zeroing the portion of the straddle
block beyond initialized_size when reading non-resident attributes
- Remove unnecessary zeroing in ntfs_punch_hole() for ranges beyond
initialized_size, as they are already returned as zeros on read
- Fix writable check in ntfs_file_mmap_prepare() to correctly handle
shared mappings using VMA_SHARED_BIT | VMA_MAYWRITE_BIT
- Use page allocation instead of kmemdup() for IOMAP_INLINE data to
ensure page-aligned address and avoid BUG trap in
iomap_inline_data_valid() caused by the page boundary check
- Add a size check before memory allocation in ntfs_attr_readall() and
reject overly large attributes
- Remove unneeded noop_direct_IO from ntfs_aops as it is no longer
required following the FMODE_CAN_ODIRECT flag
- Fix seven static analysis warnings reported by Smatch

Here is a single SPDX-like change for 7.1-rc1. It explicitly allows the
use of SPDX-FileCopyrightText which has been used already in many files.
At the same time, update checkpatch to catch any "non allowed" spdx
identifiers as we don't want to go overboard here.
This has been in linux-next for a long time with no reported problems.

- the usual large set of new IIO drivers and updates for that
subsystem (the large majority of this diffstat)
- lots of comedi driver updates and bugfixes
- coresight driver updates
- interconnect driver updates and additions
- mei driver updates
- binder (both rust and C versions) updates and fixes
- lots of other smaller driver subsystem updates and additions
All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
issues.
