e00f78679f accel/amdxdna: Resume power for creating and destroying hardware context
When the hardware is powered down by auto-suspend, creating or destroying
a hardware context without resuming power will fail.
Call amdxdna_pm_resume_get() before requesting the hardware to create or
destroy a hardware context.

c07823f850 drm/buddy: Add KUnit tests for allocator performance under fragmentation
Add KUnit test cases that create severe memory fragmentation and
measure allocation/free performance.

The tests simulate two scenarios -

1. Allocation under severe fragmentation
   - Allocate the entire 4 GiB space as 8 KiB blocks with 64 KiB alignment,
     split them into two groups and free with mixed flags to block coalescing.
   - Repeatedly allocate and free 64 KiB blocks while timing the loop.
   - Freelist runtime: 76475 ms(76.5 seconds), soft-lockup triggered.
     RB-tree runtime: 186 ms.

2. Reverse free order under fragmentation
   - Create a similarly fragmented space, free half the blocks, reverse
     the order of the remainder, and release them with the cleared flag.
   - Freelist runtime: 85620 ms(85.6 seconds).
     RB-tree runtime: 114 ms.

d4cd665c98 drm/buddy: Separate clear and dirty free block trees
Maintain two separate RB trees per order - one for clear (zeroed) blocks
and another for dirty (uncleared) blocks. This separation improves
code clarity and makes it more obvious which tree is being searched
during allocation. It also improves scalability and efficiency when
searching for a specific type of block, avoiding unnecessary checks
and making the allocator more predictable under fragmentation.

The changes have been validated using the existing drm_buddy_test
KUnit test cases, along with selected graphics workloads,
to ensure correctness and avoid regressions.

v2: Missed adding the suggested-by tag. Added it in v2.

  - Remove the double underscores from the internal functions.
  - Rename the internal functions to have less generic names.
  - Fix the error handling code.
  - Pass tree argument for the tree macro.
  - Use the existing dirty/free bit instead of new tree field.

c178e534ff drm/buddy: Optimize free block management with RB tree
Replace the freelist (O(n)) used for free block management with a
red-black tree, providing more efficient O(log n) search, insert,
and delete operations. This improves scalability and performance
when managing large numbers of free blocks per order (e.g., hundreds
or thousands).

In the VK-CTS memory stress subtest, the buddy manager merges
fragmented memory and inserts freed blocks into the freelist. Since
freelist insertion is O(n), this becomes a bottleneck as fragmentation
increases. Benchmarking shows list_insert_sorted() consumes ~52.69% CPU
with the freelist, compared to just 0.03% with the RB tree
(rbtree_insert.isra.0), despite performing the same sorted insert.

This also improves performance in heavily fragmented workloads,
such as games or graphics tests that stress memory.

As the buddy allocator evolves with new features such as clear-page
tracking, the resulting fragmentation and complexity have grown.
These RB-tree based design changes are introduced to address that
growth and ensure the allocator continues to perform efficiently
under fragmented conditions.

The RB tree implementation with separate clear/dirty trees provides:
- O(n log n) aggregate complexity for all operations instead of O(n^2)
- Elimination of soft lockups and system instability
- Improved code maintainability and clarity
- Better scalability for large memory systems
- Predictable performance under fragmentation

bed1291240 accel/qaic: Replace kcalloc + copy_from_user with memdup_array_user
Replace kcalloc() followed by copy_from_user() with memdup_array_user()
to improve and simplify both __qaic_execute_bo_ioctl() and
qaic_perf_stats_bo_ioctl().

In __qaic_execute_bo_ioctl(), return early if an error occurs and remove
the obsolete 'free_exec' label.

Since memdup_array_user() already checks for multiplication overflow,
remove the manual check in __qaic_execute_bo_ioctl(). Remove any unused
local variables accordingly.

Since 'ret = copy_from_user()' has been removed, initialize 'ret = 0' to
preserve the same return value on success.

No functional changes intended.

A timer that expires a vgem fence automatically in 10 seconds is now
released with timer_delete_sync() from fence->ops.release() called on last
dma_fence_put().  In some scenarios, it can run in IRQ context, which is
not safe unless TIMER_IRQSAFE is used.  One potentially risky scenario was
demonstrated in Intel DRM CI trybot, BAT run on machine bat-adlp-6, while
working on new IGT subtests syncobj_timeline@stress-* as user space
replacements of some problematic test cases of a dma-fence-chain selftest

drm/atomic: Convert drm_atomic_get_private_obj_state() to use new plane state
The drm_atomic_get_private_obj_state() function tries to find if a
private_obj had already been allocated and was part of the given
drm_atomic_state. If one is found, it returns the existing state
pointer.

At the point in time where drm_atomic_get_private_obj_state() can be
called (ie, during atomic_check), the existing state is the new state
and we can thus replace the hand-crafted logic by a call to
drm_atomic_get_new_private_obj_state().

drm/ingenic: crtc: Switch to ingenic_drm_get_new_priv_state()
The ingenic CRTC atomic_enable() implementation will indirectly call
drm_atomic_get_private_obj_state() through ingenic_drm_get_priv_state().

drm_atomic_get_private_obj_state() will either return the new state for
the object in the global state if it exists, or will allocate a new one
and add it to the global state.

atomic_enable() however isn't allowed to modify the global state. So
what the implementation should use is the
drm_atomic_get_new_private_obj_state() helper to get the new state for
the CRTC, without performing an extra allocation.

We still need to make sure the private state will be part of the global
state by the time atomic_enable runs, so we still need to call
ingenic_drm_get_priv_state() in atomic_check. We can then call
ingenic_drm_get_new_priv_state() in atomic_enable, which is a wrapper
around drm_atomic_get_new_private_obj_state().

Despite its name, this function builds and commit a new

In the tilcdc_crtc_atomic_check(), the tilcdc driver hand-crafts its own
implementation of drm_atomic_helper_check_crtc_primary_plane(). And it

is deprecated.

drm/atomic: Convert __drm_atomic_get_current_plane_state() to modern accessor
The __drm_atomic_get_current_plane_state() function tries to get and
return the existing plane state, and if it doesn't exist returns the one
stored in the drm_plane->state field.

Using the current nomenclature, it tries to get the existing plane state
with an ad-hoc implementation of drm_atomic_get_existing_plane_state(),
and falls back to either the old or new plane state, depending on
whether it is called before or after drm_atomic_helper_swap_state().

The existing plane state itself is deprecated, because it also changes
when swapping states from the new state to the old state.

Fortunately for us, we can simplify things. Indeed,
__drm_atomic_get_current_plane_state() is only used in two macros:
intel_atomic_crtc_state_for_each_plane_state and
drm_atomic_crtc_state_for_each_plane_state().

The intel variant is only used through the intel_wm_compute() function
that is only ever called in intel_crtc_atomic_check().

The generic variant is more widely used, and can be found in the malidp,
msm, tegra and vc4 drivers. All of these call sites though are during
atomic_check(), so we end up in the same situation than Intel's.

Thus, we only ever use the existing state as the new state, and
plane->state is always going to be the old state. Any plane isn't
guaranteed to be part of the state though, so we can't rely on
drm_atomic_get_old_plane_state() and we still need to use plane->state.
