70e76e700f hwmon: occ: validate poll response sensor blocks
The OCC poll response parser walks a counted list of sensor data blocks.
It used the static backing-array capacity as the parse boundary, but a
transport response makes only data_length bytes current and valid. A
truncated response can therefore make the parser consume a block header or
block extent outside the current response.

Use data_length as the parent boundary, prove the fixed poll header and
each current block header before reading them, and prove the complete block
before advancing. Keep parsed sensor metadata local until the complete
response has passed validation, then publish it. Propagate
malformed-response errors before publishing the OCC as active.

af01dab0c3 hwmon: (pmbus/max34440) block unsupported VIN and IIN limit registers
MAX34451 and ADPM chips do not support standard PMBus VIN/IIN limit
registers, manufacturer specific min/max registers, or undercurrent
or undertemperature fault limits. STATUS_BYTE and STATUS_OTHER are also
not available. Accessing these non-existent registers during driver
initialization triggers a CML error and asserts ALERT. Handled by
blocking these functions during read/write.

d2c9a99135 Split <linux/mod_devicetable.h> in per subsystem headers
<linux/mod_devicetable.h> is included transitively in nearly every
 driver in an x86_64 allmodconfig build of v7.1:

 The result of this mixture of different and unrelated subsystem details
 is that even when touching an obscure device id struct most of the
 kernel needs to be recompiled. Given that each driver typically only
 needs one or two of these structures, splitting into per subsystem
 headers and only including what is really needed reduces the amount of
 needed recompilation.
 
 This split is implemented in the first commit and then after some
 preparatory work in the following commits, the last two replace
 includes of <linux/mod_devicetable.h> by the actually needed more
 specific headers. There are still a few instances left, but the ones
 with high impact (that is in headers that are used a lot) and the easy

fe87b8dc67 hwmon: (aspeed-g6-pwm-tach) Guard fan RPM calculation against divide-by-zero
Sashiko reports:

In the aspeed-g6-pwm-tacho driver, the aspeed_tach_val_to_rpm() function
calculates the fan RPM using the tachometer value. However, it does not
check if the tachometer value is zero before performing the division.

If the hardware reports a tachometer value of 0 (which can happen due to
an extremely fast pulse, a stuck edge, or a hardware glitch), the
calculated tach_div evaluates to 0. The subsequent call to do_div() with
tach_div as the divisor triggers a divide-by-zero exception, leading to
a kernel panic.

Check the divisor against zero to fix the problem.

9ef7dacd44 hwmon: (pmbus) Fix passing events to regulator core
Sashiko reports:

Commit 754bd2b4a0 ("hwmon: (pmbus/core) Protect regulator operations with
mutex") introduced a worker to batch regulator events over time using
atomic_or(). The delayed worker then passes the combined bitmask unmodified
to regulator_notifier_call_chain().

The core regulator subsystem's regulator_handle_critical() function
evaluates the event parameter using a strict switch statement. If
multiple distinct faults occur before the worker runs (e.g.,
REGULATOR_EVENT_UNDER_VOLTAGE | REGULATOR_EVENT_OVER_CURRENT), the combined
bitmask fails to match any case. This leaves the reason as NULL and
completely bypasses the critical hw_protection_trigger().

Fix the problem by passing events bit by bit to the regulator event
handler.

72a6910103 hwmon: adm1275: Detect coefficient overflow
Sashiko detected potential coefficient overflow if large shunt resistor
is used. When going unnoticed it can cause "drastically incorrect
telemetry scaling factors" as Sashiko put it.

I am not convinced such "drastically incorrect telemetry scaling
factors" could have gone unnoticed, so I suspect such large shunt
resistors aren't really used. Well, it shouldn't hurt to detect the
error and abort the probe before Really Wrong current / power -values
are reported to user by the hwmon.

553f951781 hwmon: adm1275: Prevent reading uninitialized stack
While adding support for the ROHM BD127X0 hot-swap controllers, sashiko
reported an error in device-name comparison, which can lead to reading
uninitialized stack memory.

Quoting Sashiko:

This is a pre-existing issue, but I noticed that just before this block in
adm1275_probe(), there might be an out-of-bounds stack read:

Since i2c_smbus_read_block_data() reads up to 32 bytes into the
uninitialized stack array block_buffer without appending a null
terminator, strncasecmp() could read past the valid bytes returned in ret.

For example, if the device returns a shorter string like "adm12", checking
it against "adm1275" up to the length of "adm1275" will continue reading
into uninitialized stack bounds.

Prevent reading uninitialized memory by zeroing the stack array.

5264b389c4 hwmon: (w83627hf) remove VID sysfs files on error and remove
w83627hf_probe() creates cpu0_vid and vrm with device_create_file() when
VID information is available.

The error path and remove callback only remove the common and optional
attribute groups.  Those groups do not contain cpu0_vid or vrm, so the
files can remain after a later probe failure or after device removal
while their callbacks still expect live driver data.

Remove the standalone VID sysfs files from both the probe error path and
the remove callback.

77b9837572 hwmon: (w83793) remove vrm sysfs file on probe failure
w83793_probe() creates the vrm sysfs file after creating the VID files
when VID support is present.

The normal remove path deletes vrm, but the probe error path only
removes the sensor, SDA, VID, fan, PWM and temperature files.  A later
probe failure can therefore leave vrm behind after the driver data has
been freed.

Remove vrm in the probe error path next to the VID files, matching the
normal remove path.

e2735b39f0 hwmon: (asus_atk0110) Check package count before accessing element
atk_ec_present() walks the management group package returned by the GGRP
ACPI method and, for each sub-package, reads its first element:

	if (id->type != ACPI_TYPE_INTEGER)

without checking that the sub-package is non-empty.  ACPICA allocates the
element array with exactly package.count entries, so for a sub-package
with a zero count this reads past the allocation.

The sibling function atk_debugfs_ggrp_open() performs the same access but
skips empty packages with a package.count check first.  Add the same
check to atk_ec_present() so a malformed firmware package cannot trigger
an out-of-bounds read.

828cd614e2 hwmon: (pmbus/core) honor vrm_version in pmbus_data2reg_vid()
pmbus_data2reg_vid() hardcoded the VR11 encoding regardless of the
vrm_version configured by the driver, while pmbus_reg2data_vid()
already switched on it. Any driver that selects a non-VR11 VID mode
and exposes a regulator (or hwmon vout setter) sent dangerously
wrong codes to PMBUS_VOUT_COMMAND -- e.g. an nvidia195mv part asked
for 200 mV got the VR11 clamp to 500 mV encoded as 0xB2, which the
chip interprets as 1080 mV.

Mirror pmbus_reg2data_vid() so writes round-trip with reads.

e314087343 hwmon: (occ) unregister sysfs devices outside occ lock
occ_active(false) and occ_shutdown() unregister sysfs-backed devices while
occ->lock is held.  hwmon_device_unregister() and sysfs_remove_group() can
wait for active sysfs callbacks to drain, and those callbacks can enter the
OCC update path and try to take occ->lock again.  That gives the unregister
paths the lock ordering occ->lock -> sysfs callback drain, while a callback
has the opposite edge sysfs callback -> occ->lock.

This issue was found by our static analysis tool and then manually
reviewed against the current tree.

The grounded PoC kept the real unregister and callback carrier:

  occ_shutdown()
  hwmon_device_unregister()
  occ_show_temp_1()
  occ_update_response()

Lockdep reported the circular dependency with occ_shutdown() already
holding the OCC mutex and hwmon_device_unregister() waiting on the sysfs
side:

Serialize hwmon registration and removal with a separate hwmon_lock.
Under that lock, detach occ->hwmon and update occ->active while occ->lock
is held so concurrent OCC state changes still see a stable state, then
drop occ->lock before calling hwmon_device_unregister().  Remove the
driver sysfs group before taking occ->lock in occ_shutdown(), so draining
the driver attributes cannot wait while the OCC mutex is held.  Also make
OCC update callbacks return -ENODEV after deactivation, so callbacks that
already passed sysfs active protection do not poll the hardware after
teardown has detached the hwmon device.

The "ti,n-factor" binding and examples allow negative correction
values. Reading it as u32 makes the helper type disagree with the
documented signed value and hides real schema mismatches.

Swap the high setting and low setting coefficients in the lm25066_coeff
table for LM5064, LM5066, and LM5066i. The coefficients were previously
mapped incorrectly, resulting in inverted current and power scaling.

Additionally, dynamically assign the exponent (R) registers inside the
probe's LM25066_DEV_SETUP_CL check. This ensures that the proper
exponent is applied (e.g., for LM25056, high setting power exponent
is -4, but low setting power exponent is -3).

channels 1/2  and 3/4 support anti parallel diode.
EMC1833 has two external remote temperature monitoring channels and

1fb4397509 hwmon: (gpd-fan): fix race condition between device removal and sysfs access
Replace the manual gpd_fan_remove() callback with a devres-managed
action using devm_add_action_or_reset(). The original remove hook
resets the fan to AUTOMATIC mode, but the hwmon sysfs interface
(registered with devm_hwmon_device_register_with_info()) remains
active until after the remove callback completes. This creates a
race window where a concurrent userspace sysfs access can interleave
with the EC I/O sequence, potentially corrupting EC registers.

Using devm_add_action_or_reset() registers the reset function as a
devres action. Due to the LIFO release order of devres, the hwmon
device is unregistered (sysfs removed) before the reset action
executes, eliminating the race condition.

When platform_create_bundle() fails, the error is fatal and prevents the

a8a444917f hwmon: (gpd-fan): Initialize EC before registering hwmon device
Move the gpd_init_ec() call to before devm_hwmon_device_register_with_info
in the probe function. With the previous ordering the hwmon device was
registered and exposed to userspace before the EC initialization
completes, creating a window where sysfs reads could return invalid values.

Some buggy firmware won't initialize EC properly on boot. Before its
initialization, reading RPM will always return 0, and writing PWM will have
no effect. So move gpd_init_ec to before hwmon device register.

03b4addf82 hwmon: (gpd-fan): drop global driver data and use per-device allocation
replace the global state gpd_driver_priv with per-device private data
(struct gpd_fan_data) allocated in probe. This allows the driver to
support multiple instances in the future and aligns with kernel best
practices.

No functional change intended.

b47f4a72c6 hwmon: (ina238) Add update_interval_us attribute
The INA238 family supports eight conversion time steps from 50 us to
4120 us (SQ52206: 66 us to 8230 us). At the millisecond granularity of
update_interval, the four shortest steps (50, 84, 150, 280 us) all
round to the same value and cannot be individually selected.

Add support for the generic update_interval_us attribute, which reports
and programs the same ADC cycle time as update_interval but in
microseconds, giving userspace full access to all conversion time steps.

Both attributes reflect the total cycle time including the active
averaging count: the reported value is the raw conversion time
multiplied by the number of averaged samples, and writes apply the
inverse mapping.

8250814145 hwmon: Add update_interval_us chip attribute
Some hardware monitoring chips support update intervals below one
millisecond. The existing update_interval attribute uses millisecond
granularity, which causes sub-millisecond steps to round to the same
value and become inaccessible from userspace.

Introduce update_interval_us, a companion chip-level attribute that
expresses the same update interval in microseconds. Drivers
implementing this attribute should also implement update_interval for
compatibility with millisecond-based userspace interfaces.

1f7a5cfe44 hwmon: (ina238) Add support for samples and update_interval
Expose INA238 ADC averaging count (AVG) and conversion timing
(VBUSCT/VSHCT/VTCT) through chip-level hwmon attributes:

  chip/samples
  chip/update_interval

Use per-chip conversion-time lookup tables so the same helpers work
for INA228/INA237/INA238/INA700/INA780 and SQ52206. Cache ADC_CONFIG
in driver data and update it on writes to avoid extra register reads
during read-modify-write updates.

Report update_interval in milliseconds as required by the hwmon ABI.
Compute it from raw ADC cycle time multiplied by the active averaging
count, and apply the inverse mapping on writes so programmed conversion
time tracks the selected sample count.

Clamp user-provided update_interval before unit scaling to prevent
overflow in arithmetic conversions.

Also combine chip attributes in HWMON_CHANNEL_INFO using a bitwise OR
for a single logical chip channel.

dd63353a0b hwmon: ltc4283: Add support for the LTC4283 Swap Controller
Support the LTC4283 Hot Swap Controller. The device features programmable
current limit with foldback and independently adjustable inrush current to
optimize the MOSFET safe operating area (SOA). The SOA timer limits MOSFET
temperature rise for reliable protection against overstresses.

An I2C interface and onboard ADC allow monitoring of board current,
voltage, power, energy, and fault status.
