Enable NTB continuous ranging with configurable timing and measurement
parameters as per the Wi-Fi Alliance specification "Proximity Ranging
(PR) Implementation Consideration Draft 1.9 Rev 1, section 5.3". Add
new FTM request attributes for min/max time between measurements,
nominal time (mandatory for NTB), AW duration, and total measurement
count.
Add NL80211_PMSR_PEER_ATTR_REQ_TYPE attribute using the new
nl80211_peer_measurement_ftm_req_type enum to allow userspace to
specify the ranging request type per peer:
- NL80211_PMSR_FTM_REQ_TYPE_INFRA: STA-to-AP or AP-to-STA ranging
(default if attribute is absent)
- NL80211_PMSR_FTM_REQ_TYPE_PD: peer-to-peer ranging
Validate the request type against the device TYPE_CAPS capabilities
advertised via NL80211_PMSR_FTM_CAPA_ATTR_TYPE_CAPS. Reject PD
requests if the device does not advertise PD support.
Reject PD requests that set trigger-based ranging, as TB ranging is
not compatible with peer-to-peer proximity detection.
Add ftms_per_burst limit of 4 for PD NTB ranging requests.

Introduce Proximity Detection (PD) capabilities in Peer Measurement
Service (PMSR) as defined in the Wi-Fi Alliance specification
"Proximity Ranging (PR) Implementation Consideration Draft 1.9 Rev 1
section 3.3". This enables devices to advertise peer to peer ranging
support.
Restructure FTM capabilities in cfg80211_pmsr_capabilities to replace
the single support_rsta flag with nested ista and rsta sub-structs,
each carrying per-mode flags for Non-Trigger Based (NTB), Trigger Based
(TB), and EDCA based ranging. This allows drivers to advertise detailed
role and protocol support for both initiator and responder roles.
Add support to pass additional ISTA and RSTA role capabilities to
userspace using new nested ISTA_CAPS and RSTA_CAPS attributes. The
legacy RSTA_SUPPORT flag is retained for backward compatibility.
Add NL80211_PMSR_FTM_CAPA_ATTR_TYPE_CAPS nested attribute using the
nl80211_peer_measurement_ftm_type_capa enum with two sub-flags:
NL80211_PMSR_FTM_TYPE_CAPA_ATTR_INFRA_SUPPORT for STA-to-AP or
AP-to-STA ranging, and NL80211_PMSR_FTM_TYPE_CAPA_ATTR_PD_SUPPORT
for peer-to-peer ranging.
Add CONCURRENT_ISTA_RSTA_SUPPORT as a FTM capability flag indicating
the device can simultaneously act as initiator and responder in a
multi-peer measurement request.
Extend FTM capabilities with antenna configuration fields
(max_no_of_tx_antennas, max_no_of_rx_antennas) for the PR Element
during PASN negotiation, and ranging interval limits
(min_allowed_ranging_interval_edca, min_allowed_ranging_interval_ntb)
to advertise device timing constraints for EDCA and NTB-based ranging.
Update the FTM request validation path in pmsr.c to check RSTA
requests against the per-mode rsta capabilities (NTB, TB, EDCA),
rejecting requests for modes the device does not support.

Currently, the proximity detection (PD) interface type has no

controlling PD operations through the nl80211 interface.
Add NL80211_CMD_START_PD and NL80211_CMD_STOP_PD commands to

corresponding start_pd and stop_pd operations to cfg80211_ops

Add a new wdev-only interface type NL80211_IFTYPE_PD to support
Proximity Detection (PD) operations such as PASN and peer measurement
operations. This interface type operates without a netdev, similar to
P2P_DEVICE and NAN interfaces.
Implement support across cfg80211 and mac80211 layers with PD-specific
checks gated by the NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_SECURE_RTT feature flag,
management frame registration and transmission capabilities, and proper
channel context handling where PD interfaces are excluded from bandwidth
calculations. Update mac80211 to recognize the new interface type in the
relevant paths for this management-only interface.
PD discovery can be performed on any available interface, such as
NL80211_IFTYPE_STATION.
If PD/PMSR uses the MAC address of an existing interface type, such as
NL80211_IFTYPE_STATION, then pairing and measurement shall use that
same interface. If PD/PMSR uses a different MAC address, such as a
random MAC address, then pairing and measurement can be performed on a
new NL80211_IFTYPE_PD interface created with that random MAC address.

Currently the remain_on_channel operation does not support
filtering incoming frames by destination MAC address. This
prevents use cases such as PASN authentication in the
responder side that need to receive frames addressed to a
specific MAC during the off-channel period.
Add an rx_addr parameter to the remain_on_channel operation
callback and propagate it through the call chain from nl80211
to driver implementations. Introduce the extended feature
NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_ROC_ADDR_FILTER as a capability gate so
that cfg80211 rejects the request if the driver does not
advertise support for address filtering. Extract the address
from the NL80211_ATTR_MAC attribute when provided in the
netlink message and update the tracing infrastructure to
include the address in remain_on_channel trace events. The
rx_addr parameter is optional and can be NULL, maintaining
backward compatibility with existing drivers.

In SME-in-driver mode, the driver handles the entire (re)association
exchange. Userspace (e.g., wpa_supplicant) currently has no explicit
indication of whether the (re)association exchange was encrypted,
making it difficult to distinguish EPP (Enhanced Privacy Protection,
IEEE 802.11bi) associations from non-EPP associations.
When (Re)Association frame encryption is used, the (Re)Association
Response frame must contain a Key Delivery element as specified in
IEEE P802.11bi/D4.0, Table 9-65. Userspace must process this element
only when the (Re)Association Response frame is actually encrypted.
Processing it unconditionally for unencrypted frames leads to incorrect
behavior. Without an explicit indication from the driver, userspace
cannot determine whether encryption was used and whether the Key
Delivery element is valid.
Add a new flag attribute NL80211_ATTR_ASSOC_ENCRYPTED and a
corresponding field "assoc_encrypted" in cfg80211_connect_resp_params
to indicate that both the (Re)Association Request and Response frames
are transmitted encrypted over the air.
For mac80211-based drivers, extend cfg80211_rx_assoc_resp_data with
the assoc_encrypted field as well, which is then propagated to
cfg80211_connect_resp_params.
Pass the flag to userspace via NL80211_CMD_CONNECT event.

The HT/VHT/HE/EHT/UHR operation can change, and might thus be
updated on each beacon update. Move them to the beacon struct
and parse them out of the beacon also on updates, not just on
starting the AP.
This also fixes checks in two ways:
- Regulatory checks in nl80211_validate_ap_phy_operation() are
now done also on updates, disallowing enabling HE/EHT/UHR on
channels that don't allow that after start. This checks only
operation now, but clients can't use it without operation.

The error message emitted by nl80211_validate_key_link_id() when a group
key install on an MLO wdev is missing the link ID reads "link ID must
for MLO group key", which is missing the words "be set". This makes the
error harder to grep and parse in userspace logs, and is reported
verbatim by wpa_supplicant via its nl80211 extack relay, e.g.:
wpa_supplicant: nl80211: kernel reports: link ID must for MLO group key
The sibling error strings in the same helper already use grammatical

Duplicate entries in wiphy->cipher_suites do not describe any
additional capability, but cfg80211 currently accepts them and leaves
individual consumers to deal with them.
One such consumer is the WEXT compatibility code, which appends a WEP
key length for each WEP cipher entry it sees. Repeated WEP entries can
therefore overflow the fixed iw_range::encoding_size array returned by
SIOCGIWRANGE.
Reject duplicate cipher suite entries in wiphy_register() instead.
This keeps the cipher suite invariant in one place and makes malformed
wiphy descriptions fail early with -EINVAL, rather than relying on a
single cfg80211 user to handle duplicates correctly.

NL80211_CMD_SET_PMK and NL80211_CMD_DEL_PMK manage the offloaded
4-way-handshake PMK state used by drivers advertising
NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_4WAY_HANDSHAKE_STA_1X. The only in-tree
driver that wires up both ->set_pmk / ->del_pmk and advertises
the feature today is brcmfmac, so the practical reach of this
patch is narrow.
Both ops were introduced without a .flags gate, so the generic
netlink layer dispatches them to an unprivileged caller instead
of rejecting with -EPERM at the permission check. Every other
connection-state op in the adjacent block (CONNECT, ASSOCIATE,
AUTHENTICATE, SET_KEY, ...) carries GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM; SET_PMK
/ DEL_PMK were introduced without the flag in 2017 and left
unchanged by later refactors. Johannes checked the original
Intel submission history and confirmed there is no admin check
in any prior revision either, so this seems likely to be a
simple oversight rather than an intentional carve-out.
Require GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM so the genl layer performs the same
capable(CAP_NET_ADMIN) check as its siblings. wpa_supplicant
already needs CAP_NET_ADMIN for every other nl80211 op it issues,
so supplicant operation is unaffected. The worst case the missing
gate enables today is an unprivileged local process on a
multi-user system invalidating the offloaded PMK state of another
user's 4-way-handshake session, forcing a full EAP re-auth on the
next reconnect.
Verified in UML: an unprivileged probe (uid=1000) sees
SET_MULTICAST_TO_UNICAST (sibling op with GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM)
return -EPERM on both pre- and post-fix kernels, while SET_PMK /
DEL_PMK return -ENODEV from nl80211_pre_doit()'s wdev lookup pre-
fix (proving dispatch crossed the genl permission check) and
-EPERM post-fix (rejected at the genl layer as intended).

kernfs has historically used const void * to pass around namespace tags
used for directory-level namespace filtering. The only current user of
this is sysfs network namespace tagging where struct net pointers are
cast to void *.
Replace all const void * namespace parameters with const struct
ns_common * throughout the kernfs, sysfs, and kobject namespace layers.
This includes the kobj_ns_type_operations callbacks, kobject_namespace(),
and all sysfs/kernfs APIs that accept or return namespace tags.
Passing struct ns_common is needed because various codepaths require
access to the underlying namespace. A struct ns_common can always be
converted back to the concrete namespace type (e.g., struct net) via
container_of() or to_ns_common() in the reverse direction.
This is a preparatory change for switching to ns_id-based directory
iteration to prevent a KASLR pointer leak through the current use of
raw namespace pointers as hash seeds and comparison keys.

Export michael_mic() so that the ath11k and ath12k drivers can call it.
In addition, move it from mac80211 to cfg80211 so that the ipw2x00
drivers, which depend on cfg80211 but not mac80211, can also call it.
Currently these drivers have their own local implementations of
michael_mic() based on crypto_shash, which is redundant and inefficient.
By consolidating all the Michael MIC code into cfg80211, we'll be able
to remove the duplicate Michael MIC code in the crypto/ directory.

If all available channel resources are used for NAN channels, and one of
them is shared with another interface, and that interface needs to move
to a different channel (for example STA interface that needs to do a
channel or a link switch), then the driver can evacuate one of the NAN
channels (i.e. detach it from its channel resource and announce to the
peers that this channel is ULWed). In that case, the driver needs to
notify user space about the channel evacuation, so the user space can
adjust the local schedule accordingly.
Add a notification to let userspace know about it.

Add an NL80211 command to configure the NAN schedule of a NAN peer.
Such a schedule contains a list of NAN channels, and a mapping from each
time slots to the corresponding channel (or unscheduled).
Also contains more information about the schedule, such as sequence ID
and map ID.
Not all of the restrictions are validated in this patch. In particular,
comparison of two maps of the same peer requires storing/retrieving each
map of each peer, only for validation.
Therefore, it is the responsibilty of the driver to check that.

There are 2 types of logical links with a NAN peer:
- management (NMI), which is used for Tx/Rx of NAN management frames.
- data (NDI), which is used for Tx/Rx of data frames, or non-NAN
management frames.
The NMI station has two roles:
- representation of the NAN peer - for example, the peer's schedule
and the HT, VHT, HE capabilities - belong to the NMI station, and not to
the NDI ones.
- Tx/Rx of NAN management frames to/from the peer.
The NDI station is used for Tx/Rx data frames of a specific NDP that was
established with the NAN peer.
Note that a peer can choose to reuse its NMI address as the NDI address.
In that case, it is expected that two stations will be added even though
they will have the same address.
- An NDI station can only be added after the corresponding NMI station
was configured with capabilities.
- All the NDI stations will be removed before the NDI interface is brought
down.
- All NMI stations will be removed before NAN is stopped.
- Before NMI sta removal, all corresponding NDI stations will be removed
Add support for adding, removing, and changing NMI and NDI stations.

In NAN, unlike in other modes, there is only one set of (HT, VHT, HE)
capabilities that is used for all channels (and bands) used in the NAN
data path.
This set of capabilities will have to be a special one, for example - have
the minimum of (HT-for-5 GHz, HT-for-2.4 GHz), careful handling of the
bits that have a different meaning for each band, etc.
While we could use the exiting sband/iftype capabilities, and require
identical capabilities for all bands (makes no sense since this means
that we will have VHT capabilities in the 2.4 GHz slot),
or require that only one of the sbands will be set,
or have logic to extract the minimum and handle the conflicting bits -
it seems simpler to add a dedicated set of capabilities which is special
for NAN, and is band agnostic, to be populated by the driver.
That way we also let the driver decide how it wants to handle the
conflicting bits.
Add this special set of these capabilities to wiphy:nan_capabilities, to be
populated by the driver.
Send it to user space.

This new interface type represents a NAN data interface (NDI).
It is used for data communication with NAN peers.
Note that the existing NL80211_IFTYPE_NAN interface, which is the NAN
Management Interface (NMI), is used for management communication.
An NDI interface is started when a new NAN data path is about to
be established, and is stopped after the NAN data path is terminated.
- An NDI interface can only be started if the NMI is running, and NAN is
started.
- Before the NMI is stopped, the NDI interfaces will be stopped.

Add an nl80211 API to allow user space to configure the local NAN
schedule.
The local schedule consists of a list of channel definitions and a schedule
map, in which each element covers a time slot and indicates on what
channel the device should be in that time slot.
Channels can be added to schedule even without being scheduled, for
reservation purposes.
A schedule can be configured either immedietally or be deferred, in case
there are already connected peers.
When the deferred flag is set, the command is a request from the device
to perform an announced schedule update: send the updated NAN
Availability - as set in this command - to the peers, and do the
actual switch to the new schedule on the right time (i.e. at the end of
the slot after the slot in which the update was sent to the peers).
In addition, a notification will be sent to indicate a deferred update
completion.

When the nl80211 socket that originated a PMSR request is
closed, cfg80211_release_pmsr() sets the request's nl_portid
to zero and schedules pmsr_free_wk to process the abort
asynchronously. If the interface is concurrently torn down
before that work runs, cfg80211_pmsr_wdev_down() calls
cfg80211_pmsr_process_abort() directly. However, the already-
scheduled pmsr_free_wk work item remains pending and may run
after the interface has been removed from the driver. This
could cause the driver's abort_pmsr callback to operate on a
torn-down interface, leading to undefined behavior and
potential crashes.
Cancel pmsr_free_wk synchronously in cfg80211_pmsr_wdev_down()
before calling cfg80211_pmsr_process_abort(). This ensures any
pending or in-progress work is drained before interface teardown
proceeds, preventing the work from invoking the driver abort
callback after the interface is gone.

Add SPDX-License-Identifier lines to some files where
they are missing in the net/wireless directory.
Remove licensing text from individual files headers (where
present) to canonicalize the library references.
Use (mostly) either GPL-2.0 or ISC, depending on the
license wording (or not) in the files.
radiotap.c does not mention which BSD variant it intends for the
license. My selection of 'OR BSD-2-Clause' for radiotap.c was
based on research into this code's history and its licensing
elsewhere. In OpenBSD, radiotap code (which likely either
derived from this code, or this code was derived from) has the
BSD-2-Clause license. Very similar code in the radiotap library
user space tool, by the same authors Andy Green and Johannes
Berg, has an ISC license. Also the ISC license is used by
Johannes for other contributions in the Linux wireless system.
Since the radiotap.c license text here mentions BSD, but not a
specific version, I chose the closest BSD variant to ISC, which
is BSD-2-Clause.

Add an extended feature flag NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_IEEE8021X_AUTH to
allow a driver to indicate support for the IEEE 802.1X authentication
protocol in non-AP STA mode, as defined in
"IEEE P802.11bi/D4.0, 12.16.5".
In case of SME in userspace, the Authentication frame body is prepared
in userspace while the driver finalizes the Authentication frame once
it receives the required fields and elements. The driver indicates
support for IEEE 802.1X authentication using the extended feature flag
so that userspace can initiate IEEE 802.1X authentication.

The sequence of operations that needs to be done in wiphy_suspend is
identical for the case where there is no wowlan configured, and for the
case that it is but the driver refused to do wowlan (by returning 1 from
rdev_suspend).
The current code duplicates this set of operations for each one of the
cases.
In particular, next patch will change the locking of cfg80211_leave_all to
not hold the wiphy lock, which will be easier to do if it is not called
twice.
Change the code to handle first the case that wowlan is configured, and
then handle both cases (driver refused to do wowlan and no wowlan
configured) in one place.
Note that this changes the behaviour to set suspended=true also when
we were not registered yet, but that makes sense anyway, as wiphy works
can be queued also before registration.

Currently, a station can only be added to a netdev interface,
mainly because there was no need for a station of a non-netdev
interface.
But for NAN, we will have stations that belong to the NL80211_IFTYPE_NAN
interface.
Prepare for adding/changing/deleting a station that belongs to a non-netdev

in 6 GHz band, FCC mandates the AP/mesh to vacate the channels affected
by it [1].
Add a new API cfg80211_incumbent_signal_notify() that can be used
by mac80211 or drivers to notify the higher layers about the signal
interference event with the interference bitmap in which each bit
denotes the affected 20 MHz in the operating channel.
Add support for the new nl80211 event and nl80211 attribute as well to

The radiotap parser is currently only used with the radiotap
namespace (not with vendor namespaces), but if the undefined
field 18 is used, the alignment/size is unknown as well. In
this case, iterator->_next_ns_data isn't initialized (it's
only set for skipping vendor namespaces), and syzbot points
out that we later compare against this uninitialized value.
Fix this by moving the rejection of unknown radiotap fields
down to after the in-namespace lookup, so it will really use
iterator->_next_ns_data only for vendor namespaces, even in
case undefined fields are present.

This converts some of the visually simpler cases that have been split
over multiple lines. I only did the ones that are easy to verify the
resulting diff by having just that final GFP_KERNEL argument on the next
line.
Somebody should probably do a proper coccinelle script for this, but for
me the trivial script actually resulted in an assertion failure in the
middle of the script. I probably had made it a bit _too_ trivial.
So after fighting that far a while I decided to just do some of the
syntactically simpler cases with variations of the previous 'sed'
scripts.
The more syntactically complex multi-line cases would mostly really want
whitespace cleanup anyway.

This is the exact same thing as the 'alloc_obj()' version, only much
smaller because there are a lot fewer users of the *alloc_flex()
interface.
As with alloc_obj() version, this was done entirely with mindless brute
force, using the same script, except using 'flex' in the pattern rather
than 'objs*'.
Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

When the AP has an advertised TID to Link Mapping (TTLM) it shall
include the element in the association response. As such, when this
element is present it needs to be used for the currently dormant links.
See Draft P802.11REVmf_D1.0 section 35.3.7.2.3 ("Negotiation of TTLM")
for the details. The flag is also not usable in case userspace wants to
specify a negotiated TTLM during association.
Note that for the link reconfiguration case, mac80211 did not use the
information. Draft P802.11REVmf_D1.0 states in section 35.3.6.4 ("Link
reconfiguration to the setup links) that we "shall operate with all the
TIDs mapped to the newly added links ..."
All this means that the flag is not needed. The implementation should

happen, since the device already started a cluster with the

Since NL80211_CMD_CHANGE_NAN_CONFIG requires to set the full NAN

Add an extended feature flag NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_EPPKE to allow a
driver to indicate support for the Enhanced Privacy Protection Key
Exchange (EPPKE) authentication protocol in non-AP STA mode, as
defined in "IEEE P802.11bi/D3.0, 12.16.9".
In case of SME in userspace, the Authentication frame body is prepared
in userspace while the driver finalizes the Authentication frame once
it receives the required fields and elements. The driver indicates
support for EPPKE using the extended feature flag so that userspace
can initiate EPPKE authentication.
When the feature flag is set, process EPPKE Authentication frames from
userspace in non-AP STA mode. If the flag is not set, reject EPPKE
Authentication frames.
Define a new authentication type NL80211_AUTHTYPE_EPPKE for EPPKE.

HT flags don't really make sense when applied to S1G channels
especially given the bandwidths both used for calculations and
conveyed (i.e 20MHz). Similarly with the 80/160/..MHz channels,
each bonded subchannel is validated individually within
cfg80211_s1g_usable(), so the regulatory validation is similarly
redundant. Additionally, usermode application output (such as iwinfo
below) doesn't particularly make sense when enumerating S1G channels:
before:
925.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 47) [NO_HT40+, NO_HT40-, NO_16MHZ]
926.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 49) [NO_HT40+, NO_HT40-, NO_16MHZ]
927.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 51) [NO_HT40+, NO_HT40-, NO_16MHZ, NO_PRIMARY]
after:
925.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 47) [NO_16MHZ]
926.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 49) [NO_16MHZ]
927.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 51) [NO_16MHZ, NO_PRIMARY]
Don't process the S1G band when applying HT flags as both the regulatory
component is redundant and the flags don't make sense for S1G channels.

An integer overflow occurs in cfg80211_calculate_bitrate_he() when
calculating bitrates for high throughput HE configurations.
For example, with 160 MHz bandwidth, HE-MCS 13, HE-NSS 4, and HE-GI 0,
the multiplication (result * rate->nss) overflows the 32-bit 'result'
variable before division by 8, leading to significantly underestimated
bitrate values.
The overflow occurs because the NSS multiplication operates on a 32-bit
integer that cannot accommodate intermediate values exceeding
4,294,967,295. When overflow happens, the value wraps around, producing
incorrect bitrates for high MCS and NSS combinations.
Fix this by utilizing the 64-bit 'tmp' variable for the NSS
multiplication and subsequent divisions via do_div(). This approach
preserves full precision throughout the entire calculation, with the
final value assigned to 'result' only after completing all operations.

Userspace may fail to connect to certain BSS that were initially
marked as unusable due to regulatory restrictions (use_for = 0,
e.g., 6 GHz power type mismatch). Even after these restrictions
are removed and the BSS becomes usable, connection attempts still
fail.
The issue occurs in cfg80211_update_known_bss() where the use_for
flag is updated using bitwise AND (&=) instead of direct assignment.
Once a BSS is marked with use_for = 0, the AND operation masks out
any subsequent non-zero values, permanently keeping the flag at 0.
This causes __cfg80211_get_bss(), invoked by nl80211_assoc_bss(), to
fail the check "(bss->pub.use_for & use_for) != use_for", thereby
blocking association.
Replace the bitwise AND operation with direct assignment so the use_for
flag accurately reflects the current BSS state.

Currently, whenever cfg80211_stop_iface() is called, the entire iface
is stopped. However, there could be a need in AP/P2P_GO mode, where
one would like to stop a single link in MLO operation instead of the
whole MLD interface.
Hence, introduce cfg80211_stop_link() to allow drivers to tear down
only a specified AP/P2P_GO link during MLO operation. Passing -1
preserves the existing behavior of stopping the whole interface. Make
cfg80211_stop_iface() call this function by passing -1 to keep the
default behavior the same, that is, to stop all links and use
cfg80211_stop_link() with the desired link_id for AP/P2P_GO mode, to
stop only that link.
This brings no behavioral change for single-link/non-MLO interfaces,
and enables drivers to stop an AP/P2P_GO link without disrupting other
links on the same interface.

If an interface is set down or, per the previous patch, changes
type, radar detection for it should be cancelled. This is done
for AP mode in mac80211 (somewhat needlessly, since cfg80211 can
do it, but didn't until now), but wasn't handled for mesh, so if
radar detection was started and then the interface set down or
its type switched (the latter sometimes happning in the hwsim
test 'mesh_peer_connected_dfs'), radar detection would be around
with the interface unknown to the driver, later leading to some
warnings around chanctx usage.

When changing the interface type, all activity on the interface has
to be stopped first. This was done independent of existing code in
cfg80211_leave(), so didn't handle e.g. background radar detection.
Use cfg80211_leave() to handle it the same way.
Note that cfg80211_leave() behaves slightly differently for IBSS in
wireless extensions, it won't send an event in that case. We could
handle that, but since nl80211 was used to change the type, IBSS is
rare, and wext is already a corner case, it doesn't seem worth it.

Currently if a user enqueues a work item using schedule_delayed_work() the
used wq is "system_wq" (per-cpu wq) while queue_delayed_work() use
WORK_CPU_UNBOUND (used when a cpu is not specified). The same applies to
schedule_work() that is using system_wq and queue_work(), that makes use
again of WORK_CPU_UNBOUND.
This lack of consistency cannot be addressed without refactoring the API.
For more details see the Link tag below.
This continues the effort to refactor workqueue APIs, which began with
the introduction of new workqueues and a new alloc_workqueue flag in:
commit 128ea9f6cc ("workqueue: Add system_percpu_wq and system_dfl_wq")
commit 930c2ea566 ("workqueue: Add new WQ_PERCPU flag")
Switch to using system_dfl_wq because system_unbound_wq is going away as part of
a workqueue restructuring.
