Certain tests need a unique set of ports. Successive calls to the
existing rand_port method may return a duplicate port, resulting in test
flakiness. The new helper keeps sockets open while building a list of
ephemeral ports, thus the kernel enforces their uniqueness.

The TSO test wants to make sure that there isn't a lot of retransmits,
because that could indicate that device has a buggy TSO implementation.
On debug kernels, however, we're likely to see significant packet loss
because we simply overwhelm the receiver.
In a QEMU loop with virtio devices we see ~10% false positive rate
with occasional run hitting the threshold of 25% packet loss.
Since we're only sending 4MB of data, set a TCP_WINDOW_CLAMP to 200k.
This seems to make virtio happy while having little impact since we're
primarily interested in testing the sender, and the test doesn't
currently enable BIG TCP.
Running socat over virtio loop for 2 sec on a debug kernel shows:
TcpOutSegs 27327 0.0
TcpRetransSegs 83 0.0
TcpOutSegs 30012 0.0
TcpRetransSegs 80 0.0
TcpOutSegs 28767 0.0
TcpRetransSegs 77 0.0
But with the clamp the 3 attempts show no retransmit:
TcpOutSegs 31537 0.0
TcpRetransSegs 0 0.0
TcpOutSegs 30323 0.0
TcpRetransSegs 0 0.0
TcpOutSegs 28700 0.0
TcpRetransSegs 0 0.0
Since we expect no receiver-related drops now we can significantly
increase test's sensitivity to drops.
All the testing we do in NIPA uses cubic.

Fix by reducing the burst size so that the test will pass with both new

Add a test which checks that the RSS table is at least 4x the max
queue count supported by the device. The original RSS spec from
Microsoft stated that the RSS indirection table should be 2 to 8
times the CPU count, presumably assuming queue per CPU. If the
CPU count is not a power of two, however, a power-of-2 table
2x larger than queue count results in a 33% traffic imbalance.
Validate that the indirection table is at least 4x the queue
count. This lowers the imbalance to 16% which empirically
appears to be more acceptable to memcache-like workloads.

This patch moves netconsole selftests from drivers/net to its own target
in drivers/net/netconsole.
This change helps saving some resources from CI since tests in
drivers/net automatically run against real hardware which are not used
by netconsole tests as they rely solely on netdevsim.
lib_netcons.sh is kept under drivers/net/lib since it is also used by
bonding selftests. Finally, drivers/net config remains unchanged as
netpoll_basic.py requires netconsole (and does leverage real HW testing).

There is a bug in assoc_sk_only_mismatch() and
assoc_sk_only_mismatch_tx() that creates a race condition which
triggers test flakes in later test cases e.g. data_send_bad_key().
The problem is that the client uses the "conn clr" rpc to setup a data
connection with psp_responder, but never uses a matching "data close"
rpc. This creates a race condition where if the client can queue
another data sock request, like in data_send_bad_key(), before the
server can accept the old connection from the backlog we end up in a
situation where we have two connections in the backlog: one for the
closed connection we have received a FIN for, and one for the new PSP
connection which is expecting to do key exchange.
From there the server pops the closed connection from the backlog, but
the data_send_bad_key() test case in psp.py hangs waiting to perform
key exchange.
The fix is to properly use _conn_close, which fill force the server to
remove the closed connection from the backlog before sending the RPC
ack to the client.

Add support for providers with large rx buffer
Many modern NICs support configurable receive buffer lengths, and zcrx and
memory providers can use buffers larger than 4K to improve performance.
When paired with hw-gro larger rx buffer sizes can drastically reduce
the number of buffers traversing the stack and save a lot of processing
time. It also allows to give to users larger contiguous chunks of data.
Single stream benchmarks showed up to ~30% CPU util improvement.
E.g. comparison for 4K vs 32K buffers using a 200Gbit NIC:

This series adds net infrastructure for memory providers configuring
the size and implements it for bnxt. It's an opt-in feature for drivers,
they should advertise support for the parameter in the qops and must check
if the hardware supports the given size. It's limited to memory providers
as it drastically simplifies implementation. It doesn't affect the fast
path zcrx uAPI, and the user exposed parameter is defined in zcrx terms,
which allows it to be flexible and adjusted in the future.

GRO test groups the cases into categories, e.g. "tcp" case
checks coalescing in presence of:
- packets with bad csum,
- sequence number mismatch,
- timestamp option value mismatch,
- different TCP options.
Since we now have TAP support grouping the cases like that
lowers our reporting granularity. This matters even more for
NICs performing HW GRO and LRO since it appears that most

The PSP responder fails when zero or multiple PSP devices are detected.
There's an option to select the device id to use (-d) but it's
currently not used from the PSP self test. It's also hard to use because
the PSP test doesn't dump the PSP devices so can't choose one.
When zero devices are detected, psp_responder fails which will cause the
parent test to fail as well instead of skipping PSP tests.
Fix both of these problems. Change psp_responder to:
- not fail when no PSP devs are detected.
- get an optional -i ifindex argument instead of -d.
- select the correct PSP dev from the dump corresponding to ifindex or
- select the first PSP dev when -i is not given.
- fail when multiple devs are found and -i is not given.
- warn and continue when the requested ifindex is not found.
Also plumb the ifindex from the Python test.
With these, when there are no PSP devs found or the wrong one is chosen,
psp_responder opens the server socket, listens for control connections
normally, and leaves the skipping of the various test cases which
require a PSP device (~most, but not all of them) to the parent test.
This results in output like:
ok 1 psp.test_case # SKIP No PSP devices found
[...]
ok 12 psp.dev_get_device # SKIP No PSP devices found
ok 13 psp.dev_get_device_bad
ok 14 psp.dev_rotate # SKIP No PSP devices found

The gro.py test (testing software GRO) is slightly flaky when
running against fbnic. We see one flake per roughly 20 runs in NIPA,
mostly in ipip.large, and always including some EAGAIN:
# Shouldn't coalesce if exceed IP max pkt size: Test succeeded
# Expected {65475 899 }, Total 2 packets
# Received {65475 899 }, Total 2 packets.
# Expected {64576 900 900 }, Total 3 packets
# Received {64576 /home/virtme/testing/wt-24/tools/testing/selftests/drivers/net/gro: could not receive: Resource temporarily unavailable
The test sends 2 large frames (64k + change). Looks like the default
packet socket rcvbuf (~200kB) may not be large enough to hold them.
Bump the rcvbuf to 1MB.
Add a debug print showing socket statistics to make debugging this
issue easier in the future. Without the rcvbuf increase we see:
# Shouldn't coalesce if exceed IP max pkt size: Test succeeded

This commit adds a test case for netdevsim carrier state consistency.
Specifically, the added test verifies the carrier state during the
following operations:
1. Unlink two netdevsims
2. ifdown one netdevsim, then ifup again
3. Link the netdevsims again
4. ifdown one netdevsim, then ifup again
These steps verifies that the carrier is UP iff two netdevsims are
linked and ifuped.

Commit 7c32f7a2d3db ("selftests: net: py: don't default to shell=True")
changed the cmd() helper to avoid spawning a shell unless explicitly
requested.
The devlink_rate_tc_bw test enables SR-IOV by writing to the
sriov_numvfs sysfs attribute using redirection. Without shell=True the
redirection is not interpreted and the VF device never appears,
causing the test to fail.
Fix by explicitly passing shell=True in the two places that update
sriov_numvfs.

GenerateTraffic was added to spin up long-running iperf3 load, mainly
to drive high PPS background traffic. It was never meant to provide
stable throughput numbers, and trying to repurpose it for measurement
does not make sense.
Introduce Iperf3Runner to allow tests to split out server/client
configuration, control start/stop, and collect JSON output for
analysis. This makes it possible to measure bandwidth directly when
validating egress shaping.
GenerateTraffic stays as the background load generator, reusing the
common iperf3 helpers under the hood.

Jakub reported increased flakiness in bond_macvlan_ipvlan.sh on regular
kernel, while the tests consistently pass on a debug kernel. This suggests
a timing-sensitive issue.
To mitigate this, introduce a short sleep before each xvlan_over_bond
connectivity check. The delay helps ensure neighbor and route cache
have fully converged before verifying connectivity.
The sleep interval is kept minimal since check_connection() is invoked
nearly 100 times during the test.

Part of the cleanup performed at the end of each test iteration resets

Presumably because a lot of packages depend on it. I just updated

at this stage I think this warrants handling the build failure
more gracefully.
Detect if iouring is recent enough and if not print a warning

fail since the binary won't exist. But it removes the major
annoyance of having to update liburing from sources when

Increase MAX_USERDATA_ITEMS from 16 to 256 entries now that the userdata
buffer is allocated dynamically.
The previous limit of 16 was necessary because the buffer was statically
allocated for all targets. With dynamic allocation, we can support more
entries without wasting memory on targets that don't use userdata.
This allows users to attach more metadata to their netconsole messages,
which is useful for complex debugging and logging scenarios.

Rewrite the existing toeplitz.sh test in Python. The conversion

The Toeplitz hash test can only run on a real device.
Move them from net/ to drivers/net/ and drivers/net/hw/ respectively.
There are two scripts which set up the environment for these tests
setup_loopback.sh and setup_veth.sh. Move those scripts to net/lib.
The paths to the setup files are a little ugly but they will be
deleted shortly.

There's a lot of cases where we try to re-run the same code with
different parameters. We currently need to either use a generator
method or create a "main" case implementation which then gets called
by trivial case functions:
def _test(x, y, z):
...
def case_int():
_test(1, 2, 3)
def case_str():
_test('a', 'b', 'c')
Add support for variants, similar to kselftests_harness.h and
a lot of other frameworks. Variants can be added as decorator
to test functions:
@ksft_variants([(1, 2, 3), ('a', 'b', 'c')])
def case(x, y, z):
...
ksft_run() will auto-generate case names:
case.1_2_3
case.a_b_c
Because the names may not always be pretty (and to avoid forcing
classes to implement case-friendly __str__()) add a wrapper class
KsftNamedVariant which lets the user specify the name for the variant.
Note that ksft_run's args are still supported. ksft_run splices args
and variant params together.

The XDP qstats tests send 2k packets over a single socket.
Looks like when netdev CI is busy running those tests in QEMU
occasionally flakes. The target doesn't get to run at all
before all 2000 packets are sent.
Lower the number of packets to 1000 and reopen the socket
every 50 packets, to give RSS a chance to spread the packets
to multiple queues.
For the netdev CI testing either lowering the count or using
multiple sockets is enough, but let's do both for extra resiliency.

This patch adds a selftest that verifies netconsole functionality
over bonded network interfaces using netdevsim. It sets up two bonded
interfaces acting as transmit (TX) and receive (RX) ends, placed in
separate network namespaces. The test sends kernel log messages and
verifies that they are properly received on the bonded RX interfaces
with both IPv4 and IPv6, and using basic and extended netconsole
formats.
This patchset aims to test a long-standing netpoll subsystem where
netpoll has multiple users. (in this case netconsole and bonding). A
similar selftest has been discussed in [1] and [2].
This test also tries to enable bonding and netpoll in different order,
just to guarantee that all the possibilities are exercised.

Create a netconsole test that puts a lot of pressure on the netconsole
list manipulation. Do it by creating dynamic targets and deleting
targets while messages are being sent. Also put interface down while the
messages are being sent, as creating parallel targets.
The code launches three background jobs on distinct schedules:
* Toggle netcons target every 30 iterations
* create and delete random_target every 50 iterations
* toggle iface every 70 iterations
This creates multiple concurrency sources that interact with netconsole
states. This is good practice to simulate stress, and exercise netpoll
and netconsole locks.
This test already found an issue as reported in [1]

Linters are still not very happy with our __init__ files,
which was pointed out in recent review (see Link).
We have previously started importing things one by one to
make linters happy with the test files (which import from __init__).
But __init__ file itself still makes linters unhappy.
To clean it up I believe we must completely remove the wildcard
imports, and assign the imported modules to __all__.
hds.py needs to be fixed because it seems to be importing
the Python standard random from lib.net.
We can't use ksft_pr() / ktap_result() in case importing
from net.lib fails. Linters complain that those helpers
themselves may not have been imported.

RX devmem sometimes fails on NIPA:
https://netdev-3.bots.linux.dev/vmksft-fbnic-qemu-dbg/results/294402/7-devmem-py/
Both RSS and flow steering are properly installed, but the wait_port_listen
fails. Try to remove sleep(1) to see if the cause of the failure is
spending too much time during RX setup. I don't see a good reason to
have sleep in the first place. If there needs to be a delay between
installing the rules and receiving the traffic, let's add it to the
callers (devmem.py) instead.

There are currently no kernel tests that verify setting and getting
options of the team driver.
In the future, options may be added that implicitly change other
options, which will make it useful to have tests like these that show
nothing breaks. There will be a follow up patch to this that adds new
"rx_enabled" and "tx_enabled" options, which will implicitly affect the
"enabled" option value and vice versa.
The tests use teamnl to first set options to specific values and then
gets them to compare to the set values.

devmem test fails on NIPA. Most likely we get skb(s) with readable
frags (why?) but the failure manifests as an OOM. The OOM happens
because ncdevmem spams the following message:
recvmsg ret=-1
recvmsg: Bad address
As of today, ncdevmem can't deal with various reasons of EFAULT:
- falling back to regular recvmsg for non-devmem skbs
- increasing ctrl_data size (can't happen with ncdevmem's large buffer)
Exit (cleanly) with error when recvmsg returns EFAULT. This should at
least cause the test to cleanup its state.

The rss_ctx test has gotten pretty flaky after I increased
the queue count in NIPA 2->3. Not 100% clear why. We get
a lot of failures in the rss_ctx.test_hitless_key_update case.
Looking closer it appears that the failures are mostly due
to startup costs. I measured the following timing for ethtool -X:
- python cmd(shell=True) : 150-250msec
- python cmd(shell=False) : 50- 70msec
- timed in bash : 45- 55msec
- YNL Netlink call : 2- 4msec
- .set_rxfh callback : 1- 2msec
The target in the test was set to 200msec. We were mostly measuring
ethtool startup cost it seems. Switch to YNL since it's 100x faster.
Lower the pass criteria to 150msec, no real science behind this number
but we removed some overhead, drivers which previously passed 200msec
should easily pass 150msec now.
Separately we should probably follow up on defaulting to shell=False,
when script doesn't explicitly ask for True, because the overhead
is rather significant.
Switch from _rss_key_rand() to random.randbytes(), YNL takes a binary
array rather than array of ints.

all have "native" in their names this can be quite confusing.
Force native / "drv" attachment. Note that netdevsim re-uses
the generic handler as its "native" handler, so we'll maintain

ncdevmem tests that the kernel correctly rejects attempts
to deactivate queues with MPs bound.
Make the configure_channels() test support combined channels.
Currently it tries to set the queue counts to rx N tx N-1,
which only makes sense for devices which have IRQs per ring
type. Most modern devices used combined IRQs/channels with
both Rx and Tx queues. Since the math is total Rx == combined+Rx
setting Rx when combined is non-zero will be increasing the total
queue count, not decreasing as the test intends.
Note that the test would previously also try to set the Tx
ring count to Rx - 1, for some reason. Which would be 0
if the device has only 2 queues configured.
With this change (device with 2 queues):

The test is implicitly assuming the device only has 2 queues.
A real device will likely have more. The exact problem is that
because NAPIs get added to the list from the head, the netlink
dump reports them in reverse order. So the naive napis[0] will
actually likely give us the _last_ NAPI, not the first one.
Re-enable all the NAPIs instead of hard-coding 2 in the test.
This way the NAPIs we operated on will always reappear,
doesn't matter where they were in the registration order.

Commit 2677010e77 ("Add support to set NAPI threaded for individual
NAPI") added support to enable/disable threaded napi using netlink. This
also extended the napi config save/restore functionality to set the napi
threaded state. This breaks netdev reset for drivers that use napi
threaded at device level and also use napi config save/restore on
napi_disable/napi_enable. Basically on netdev with napi threaded enabled
at device level, a napi_enable call will get stuck trying to stop the
napi kthread. This is because the napi->config->threaded is set to
disabled when threaded is enabled at device level.
The issue can be reproduced on virtio-net device using qemu. To
reproduce the issue run following,
echo 1 > /sys/class/net/threaded
ethtool -L eth0 combined 1
Update the threaded state in napi config in netif_set_threaded and add a
new test that verifies this scenario.

A lot of test cases in the file are related to the idle and unbalanced
timers of resilient nexthop groups and these tests are reported to be
flaky on slow machines running debug kernels.
Rather than marking a lot of individual tests with xfail_on_slow(),
simply mark all the tests. Note that the test is stable on non-debug
machines and that with debug kernels we are mainly interested in the
output of various sanitizers in order to determine pass / fail.

Currently, UDP exchange is prone to failure when cmd attempt to send data
while socat in bkg is not ready. Since, the behavior is probabilistic, this
can result in flakiness for XDP tests. While testing
test_xdp_native_tx_mb() on netdevsim, a failure rate of around 1% in 500
500 iterations was observed.
Use wait_port_listen() to ensure that the bkg socat is started and ready to
receive before cmd start sending. With proposed changes, a re-run of the
same test passed 100% of time.

Extend the `check_for_dependencies()` function in `lib_netcons.sh` to check
whether IPv6 is enabled by verifying the existence of
`/proc/net/if_inet6`. Having IPv6 is a now a dependency of netconsole
tests. If the file does not exist, the script will skip the test with an
appropriate message suggesting to verify if `CONFIG_IPV6` is enabled.
This prevents the test to misbehave if IPv6 is not configured.

The non-tunneled tso6 test case was showing up as:
ok 8 tso.ipv4
This is because of the way test_builder() uses the inner_ipver arg in
test naming, and how test_info is iterated over in main(). Given that
some tunnels not supported yet, e.g. ipip or sit, only support ipv4 or
ipv6 as the inner network protocol, I think the best fix here is to
call test_builder() in separate branches for tunneled and non-tunneled
tests, and to make supported inner l3 types an explicit attribute of
tunnel test cases.

When vxlan is used with ipv6 as the outer network header, the correct
ip link parameters for acheiving the SKB_GSO_UDP_TUNNEL gso type is
"udp6zerocsumtx udp6zerocsumrx". Otherwise the gso type will be
SKB_GSO_UDP_TUNNEL_CSUM.
This bug was the reason for the second of the three possible
invocations of run_one_stream() invocations, so that can be deleted as
well. We only need to test with the feature off and on.

tso.py uses the active features at the time of test execution
as the set of available gso features to test. This means if a gso
feature is supported but toggled off at test start, the test will be
skipped with a "Device does not support {feature}" message.
Instead, we can enumerate the set of toggleable features by capturing
the driver's hw_features bitmap. To avoid configuration side-effects
from running the test, we also snapshot the wanted_features flag set
before making any feature changes, and then attempt to restore the
same set of wanted_features before test exit.

Make require_cmd() calls explicit about whether commands are needed
locally, remotely, or both.
Since require_cmd() defaults to local=True, tests should explicitly set
local=False when commands are only needed remotely.
- socat: Set local=False since it's only needed on remote hosts.
- iperf3: Use single call with both local=True and remote=True since
it's needed on both hosts.
This avoids unnecessary test failures when commands are missing locally
but available remotely where actually needed, and consolidates a
duplicate require_cmd() call into single call that checks both hosts.

and the shrinking cases. For the extension part, eat up space from
the start of payload data whereas, for the shrinking part, populate
the newly available space with a tag. In the user-space, validate that a
test string is manipulated accordingly.
The negative and positive offset values result in shrinking and growing of

Add test to validate support for the two cases of tail adjustment: 1)
tail extension, and 2) tail shrinking across different frame sizes and
offset values. For each of the two cases, test both the single and
multi-buffer cases by choosing appropriate packet size.
The negative offset value result in growing of tailroom (shrinking of
payload) while the positive offset result in shrinking of tailroom
(growing of payload).
Since the support for tail adjustment varies across drivers, classify the
test as pass if at least one combination of packet size and offset from a
pre-selected list results in a successful run. In case of an unsuccessful
run, report the failure and highlight the packet size and offset values
that caused the test to fail, as well as the values that resulted in the
last successful run.
Note: The growing part of this test for netdevsim may appear flaky when
the offset value is larger than 1. This behavior occurs because tailroom
is not explicitly reserved for netdevsim, with 1 being the typical
tailroom value. However, in certain cases, such as payload being the last
in the page with additional available space, the truesize is expanded.
This also result increases the tailroom causing the test to pass
intermittently. In contrast, when tailrrom is explicitly reserved, such
as in the of fbnic, the test results are deterministic.

Add a basic selftest for the netpoll polling mechanism, specifically
targeting the netpoll poll() side.
The test creates a scenario where network transmission is running at
maximum speed, and netpoll needs to poll the NIC. This is achieved by:
1. Configuring a single RX/TX queue to create contention
2. Generating background traffic to saturate the interface
3. Sending netconsole messages to trigger netpoll polling
4. Using dynamic netconsole targets via configfs
5. Delete and create new netconsole targets after some messages
6. Start a bpftrace in parallel to make sure netpoll_poll_dev() is
called
7. If bpftrace exists and netpoll_poll_dev() was called, stop.
The test validates a critical netpoll code path by monitoring traffic
flow and ensuring netpoll_poll_dev() is called when the normal TX path
is blocked.
This addresses a gap in netpoll test coverage for a path that is
tricky for the network stack.

bpftrace is very useful for low level driver testing. perf or trace-cmd
would also do for collecting data from tracepoints, but they require
much more post-processing.
Add a wrapper for running bpftrace and sanitizing its output.
bpftrace has JSON output, which is great, but it prints loose objects
and in a slightly inconvenient format. We have to read the objects
line by line, and while at it return them indexed by the map name.

Add IPv6 support to the netconsole basic functionality tests by:
- Introducing separate IPv4 and IPv6 address variables (SRCIP4/SRCIP6,
DSTIP4/DSTIP6) to replace the single SRCIP/DSTIP variables
- Adding select_ipv4_or_ipv6() function to choose protocol version
- Updating socat configuration to use UDP6-LISTEN for IPv6 tests
- Adding wait_for_port() wrapper to handle protocol-specific port waiting
- Expanding test matrix to run both basic and extended formats against
both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
- Improving cleanup to kill any remaining socat processes
- Adding sleep delays for better IPv6 packet handling reliability
The test now validates netconsole functionality across both IP versions,
improving test coverage for dual-stack network environments.

This test suite validates the functionality of the devlink-rate API for
traffic class (TC) bandwidth allocation. It ensures that bandwidth can
be distributed between different traffic classes as configured, and
verifies that explicit TC-to-queue mapping is required for the
allocation to be effective.
The first test (test_no_tc_mapping_bandwidth) is marked as expected
failure on mlx5, since the hardware automatically enforces traffic
class separation by dynamically moving queues to the correct TC
scheduler, even without explicit TC-to-queue mapping configuration.

setup_wait() takes an optional argument and then is called from the top
level of the test script. That confuses shellcheck, which thinks that maybe
the intention is to pass $1 of the script to the function, which is never
the case. To avoid having to annotate every single new test with a SC

XFAIL is considered a form of a pass by our CI. For HW devices returning
XFAIL for unsupported features is counter-productive because our CI
knows not to expect any HW test to pass until it sees 10 passes in a row.
If we return xfail the test shows up as pass even if the device doesn't
support the feature. netdevsim supports all features necessary for
the stats test so there is no concern about running the test in SW mode.
Make the test skip rather than xfail if driver doesn't support FEC or pause.

Add a new selftest to verify netconsole module loading with command
line arguments. This test exercises the init_netconsole() path and
validates proper parsing of the netconsole= parameter format.
The test:
- Loads netconsole module with cmdline configuration instead of
dynamic reconfiguration
- Validates message transmission through the configured target
- Adds helper functions for cmdline string generation and module
validation
This complements existing netconsole selftests by covering the
module initialization code path that processes boot-time parameters.
This test is useful to test issues like the one described in [1].

Add missing config options for the tso.py test, specifically
to make sure the kernel is built with vxlan and gre tunnels.
I noticed this while adding a TSO-capable device QEMU to the CI.
Previously we only run virtio tests and it doesn't report LSO
stats on the QEMU we have.

The current test just sends "hello\nworld" and verifies that is the
string received on the RX side. That is fine, but improve the test a bit
by sending 1K data. The test should be improved further to send more
data, but for now this should be a welcome improvement.
The test will send a repeating pattern of 0x01, 0x02, ... 0x06. The
ncdevmem `-v 7` flag will verify this pattern. ncdevmem will provide
useful debugging info when the test fails, such as the frags received
and verified fine, and which frag exactly failed, what was the expected
byte pattern, and what is the actual byte pattern received. All this
debug information will be useful when the test fails.

ncdevmem supports drivers that are limited to either 3-tuple or 5-tuple
FS support, but the ksft is currently 3-tuple only. Support drivers that
have 5-tuple FS supported by adding a ksft arg.

This exit_wait seems necessary to make the rx side test pass for me.
I think this is just missed from the original test add patch. Add it now.
