In SME-in-driver mode, the driver handles the entire (re)association
exchange. Userspace (e.g., wpa_supplicant) currently has no explicit
indication of whether the (re)association exchange was encrypted,
making it difficult to distinguish EPP (Enhanced Privacy Protection,
IEEE 802.11bi) associations from non-EPP associations.
When (Re)Association frame encryption is used, the (Re)Association
Response frame must contain a Key Delivery element as specified in
IEEE P802.11bi/D4.0, Table 9-65. Userspace must process this element
only when the (Re)Association Response frame is actually encrypted.
Processing it unconditionally for unencrypted frames leads to incorrect
behavior. Without an explicit indication from the driver, userspace
cannot determine whether encryption was used and whether the Key
Delivery element is valid.
Add a new flag attribute NL80211_ATTR_ASSOC_ENCRYPTED and a
corresponding field "assoc_encrypted" in cfg80211_connect_resp_params
to indicate that both the (Re)Association Request and Response frames
are transmitted encrypted over the air.
For mac80211-based drivers, extend cfg80211_rx_assoc_resp_data with
the assoc_encrypted field as well, which is then propagated to
cfg80211_connect_resp_params.
Pass the flag to userspace via NL80211_CMD_CONNECT event.

The HT/VHT/HE/EHT/UHR operation can change, and might thus be
updated on each beacon update. Move them to the beacon struct
and parse them out of the beacon also on updates, not just on
starting the AP.
This also fixes checks in two ways:
- Regulatory checks in nl80211_validate_ap_phy_operation() are
now done also on updates, disallowing enabling HE/EHT/UHR on
channels that don't allow that after start. This checks only
operation now, but clients can't use it without operation.
- NL80211_ATTR_UHR_OPERATION is now required whenever UHR is
present in the beacon, and rejected otherwise.

The error message emitted by nl80211_validate_key_link_id() when a group
key install on an MLO wdev is missing the link ID reads "link ID must
for MLO group key", which is missing the words "be set". This makes the
error harder to grep and parse in userspace logs, and is reported
verbatim by wpa_supplicant via its nl80211 extack relay, e.g.:
wpa_supplicant: nl80211: kernel reports: link ID must for MLO group key
The sibling error strings in the same helper already use grammatical
phrasing ("link ID not allowed for pairwise key", "invalid link ID for
MLO group key", "link ID not allowed for non-MLO group key"). Fix this
one to match.

Duplicate entries in wiphy->cipher_suites do not describe any
additional capability, but cfg80211 currently accepts them and leaves
individual consumers to deal with them.
One such consumer is the WEXT compatibility code, which appends a WEP
key length for each WEP cipher entry it sees. Repeated WEP entries can
therefore overflow the fixed iw_range::encoding_size array returned by
SIOCGIWRANGE.
Reject duplicate cipher suite entries in wiphy_register() instead.
This keeps the cipher suite invariant in one place and makes malformed
wiphy descriptions fail early with -EINVAL, rather than relying on a
single cfg80211 user to handle duplicates correctly.

NL80211_CMD_SET_PMK and NL80211_CMD_DEL_PMK manage the offloaded
4-way-handshake PMK state used by drivers advertising
NL80211_EXT_FEATURE_4WAY_HANDSHAKE_STA_1X. The only in-tree
driver that wires up both ->set_pmk / ->del_pmk and advertises
the feature today is brcmfmac, so the practical reach of this
patch is narrow.
Both ops were introduced without a .flags gate, so the generic
netlink layer dispatches them to an unprivileged caller instead
of rejecting with -EPERM at the permission check. Every other
connection-state op in the adjacent block (CONNECT, ASSOCIATE,
AUTHENTICATE, SET_KEY, ...) carries GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM; SET_PMK
/ DEL_PMK were introduced without the flag in 2017 and left
unchanged by later refactors. Johannes checked the original
Intel submission history and confirmed there is no admin check
in any prior revision either, so this seems likely to be a
simple oversight rather than an intentional carve-out.
Require GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM so the genl layer performs the same
capable(CAP_NET_ADMIN) check as its siblings. wpa_supplicant
already needs CAP_NET_ADMIN for every other nl80211 op it issues,
so supplicant operation is unaffected. The worst case the missing
gate enables today is an unprivileged local process on a
multi-user system invalidating the offloaded PMK state of another
user's 4-way-handshake session, forcing a full EAP re-auth on the
next reconnect.
Verified in UML: an unprivileged probe (uid=1000) sees
SET_MULTICAST_TO_UNICAST (sibling op with GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM)
return -EPERM on both pre- and post-fix kernels, while SET_PMK /
DEL_PMK return -ENODEV from nl80211_pre_doit()'s wdev lookup pre-
fix (proving dispatch crossed the genl permission check) and
-EPERM post-fix (rejected at the genl layer as intended).

Core & protocols
----------------
- Support HW queue leasing, allowing containers to be granted access
to HW queues for zero-copy operations and AF_XDP.
- Number of code moves to help the compiler with inlining.
Avoid output arguments for returning drop reason where possible.
- Rework drop handling within qdiscs to include more metadata
about the reason and dropping qdisc in the tracepoints.
- Remove the rtnl_lock use from IP Multicast Routing.
- Pack size information into the Rx Flow Steering table pointer
itself. This allows making the table itself a flat array of u32s,
thus making the table allocation size a power of two.
- Report TCP delayed ack timer information via socket diag.
- Add ip_local_port_step_width sysctl to allow distributing the randomly
selected ports more evenly throughout the allowed space.
- Add support for per-route tunsrc in IPv6 segment routing.
- Start work of switching sockopt handling to iov_iter.
- Improve dynamic recvbuf sizing in MPTCP, limit burstiness and avoid
buffer size drifting up.
- Support MSG_EOR in MPTCP.
- Add stp_mode attribute to the bridge driver for STP mode selection.
This addresses concerns about call_usermodehelper() usage.
- Remove UDP-Lite support (as announced in 2023).
- Remove support for building IPv6 as a module.
Remove the now unnecessary function calling indirection.
Cross-tree stuff
----------------
- Move Michael MIC code from generic crypto into wireless,
it's considered insecure but some WiFi networks still need it.
Netfilter
---------
- Switch nft_fib_ipv6 module to no longer need temporary dst_entry
object allocations by using fib6_lookup() + RCU.
Florian W reports this gets us ~13% higher packet rate.
- Convert IPVS's global __ip_vs_mutex to per-net service_mutex and
switch the service tables to be per-net. Convert some code that
walks the service lists to use RCU instead of the service_mutex.
- Add more opinionated input validation to lower security exposure.
- Make IPVS hash tables to be per-netns and resizable.
Wireless
--------
- Finished assoc frame encryption/EPPKE/802.1X-over-auth.
- Radar detection improvements.
- Add 6 GHz incumbent signal detection APIs.
- Multi-link support for FILS, probe response templates and
client probing.
- New APIs and mac80211 support for NAN (Neighbor Aware Networking,
aka Wi-Fi Aware) so less work must be in firmware.
Driver API
----------
- Add numerical ID for devlink instances (to avoid having to create
fake bus/device pairs just to have an ID). Support shared devlink
instances which span multiple PFs.
- Add standard counters for reporting pause storm events
(implement in mlx5 and fbnic).
- Add configuration API for completion writeback buffering
(implement in mana).
- Support driver-initiated change of RSS context sizes.
- Support DPLL monitoring input frequency (implement in zl3073x).
- Support per-port resources in devlink (implement in mlx5).

kernfs has historically used const void * to pass around namespace tags
used for directory-level namespace filtering. The only current user of
this is sysfs network namespace tagging where struct net pointers are
cast to void *.
Replace all const void * namespace parameters with const struct
ns_common * throughout the kernfs, sysfs, and kobject namespace layers.
This includes the kobj_ns_type_operations callbacks, kobject_namespace(),
and all sysfs/kernfs APIs that accept or return namespace tags.
Passing struct ns_common is needed because various codepaths require
access to the underlying namespace. A struct ns_common can always be
converted back to the concrete namespace type (e.g., struct net) via
container_of() or to_ns_common() in the reverse direction.
This is a preparatory change for switching to ns_id-based directory
iteration to prevent a KASLR pointer leak through the current use of
raw namespace pointers as hash seeds and comparison keys.

Export michael_mic() so that the ath11k and ath12k drivers can call it.
In addition, move it from mac80211 to cfg80211 so that the ipw2x00
drivers, which depend on cfg80211 but not mac80211, can also call it.
Currently these drivers have their own local implementations of
michael_mic() based on crypto_shash, which is redundant and inefficient.
By consolidating all the Michael MIC code into cfg80211, we'll be able
to remove the duplicate Michael MIC code in the crypto/ directory.

If all available channel resources are used for NAN channels, and one of
them is shared with another interface, and that interface needs to move
to a different channel (for example STA interface that needs to do a
channel or a link switch), then the driver can evacuate one of the NAN
channels (i.e. detach it from its channel resource and announce to the
peers that this channel is ULWed). In that case, the driver needs to
notify user space about the channel evacuation, so the user space can
adjust the local schedule accordingly.
Add a notification to let userspace know about it.

Add an NL80211 command to configure the NAN schedule of a NAN peer.
Such a schedule contains a list of NAN channels, and a mapping from each
time slots to the corresponding channel (or unscheduled).
Also contains more information about the schedule, such as sequence ID
and map ID.
Not all of the restrictions are validated in this patch. In particular,
comparison of two maps of the same peer requires storing/retrieving each
map of each peer, only for validation.
Therefore, it is the responsibilty of the driver to check that.

There are 2 types of logical links with a NAN peer:
- management (NMI), which is used for Tx/Rx of NAN management frames.
- data (NDI), which is used for Tx/Rx of data frames, or non-NAN
management frames.
The NMI station has two roles:
- representation of the NAN peer - for example, the peer's schedule
and the HT, VHT, HE capabilities - belong to the NMI station, and not to
the NDI ones.
- Tx/Rx of NAN management frames to/from the peer.
The NDI station is used for Tx/Rx data frames of a specific NDP that was
established with the NAN peer.
Note that a peer can choose to reuse its NMI address as the NDI address.
In that case, it is expected that two stations will be added even though
they will have the same address.
- An NDI station can only be added after the corresponding NMI station
was configured with capabilities.
- All the NDI stations will be removed before the NDI interface is brought
down.
- All NMI stations will be removed before NAN is stopped.
- Before NMI sta removal, all corresponding NDI stations will be removed
Add support for adding, removing, and changing NMI and NDI stations.

In NAN, unlike in other modes, there is only one set of (HT, VHT, HE)
capabilities that is used for all channels (and bands) used in the NAN
data path.
This set of capabilities will have to be a special one, for example - have
the minimum of (HT-for-5 GHz, HT-for-2.4 GHz), careful handling of the
bits that have a different meaning for each band, etc.
While we could use the exiting sband/iftype capabilities, and require
identical capabilities for all bands (makes no sense since this means
that we will have VHT capabilities in the 2.4 GHz slot),
or require that only one of the sbands will be set,
or have logic to extract the minimum and handle the conflicting bits -
it seems simpler to add a dedicated set of capabilities which is special
for NAN, and is band agnostic, to be populated by the driver.
That way we also let the driver decide how it wants to handle the
conflicting bits.
Add this special set of these capabilities to wiphy:nan_capabilities, to be
populated by the driver.
Send it to user space.

This new interface type represents a NAN data interface (NDI).
It is used for data communication with NAN peers.
Note that the existing NL80211_IFTYPE_NAN interface, which is the NAN
Management Interface (NMI), is used for management communication.
An NDI interface is started when a new NAN data path is about to
be established, and is stopped after the NAN data path is terminated.
- An NDI interface can only be started if the NMI is running, and NAN is
started.
- Before the NMI is stopped, the NDI interfaces will be stopped.

Add an nl80211 API to allow user space to configure the local NAN
schedule.
The local schedule consists of a list of channel definitions and a schedule
map, in which each element covers a time slot and indicates on what
channel the device should be in that time slot.
Channels can be added to schedule even without being scheduled, for
reservation purposes.
A schedule can be configured either immedietally or be deferred, in case
there are already connected peers.
When the deferred flag is set, the command is a request from the device
to perform an announced schedule update: send the updated NAN
Availability - as set in this command - to the peers, and do the
actual switch to the new schedule on the right time (i.e. at the end of
the slot after the slot in which the update was sent to the peers).
In addition, a notification will be sent to indicate a deferred update
completion.

When the nl80211 socket that originated a PMSR request is
closed, cfg80211_release_pmsr() sets the request's nl_portid
to zero and schedules pmsr_free_wk to process the abort
asynchronously. If the interface is concurrently torn down
before that work runs, cfg80211_pmsr_wdev_down() calls
cfg80211_pmsr_process_abort() directly. However, the already-
scheduled pmsr_free_wk work item remains pending and may run
after the interface has been removed from the driver. This
could cause the driver's abort_pmsr callback to operate on a
torn-down interface, leading to undefined behavior and
potential crashes.
Cancel pmsr_free_wk synchronously in cfg80211_pmsr_wdev_down()
before calling cfg80211_pmsr_process_abort(). This ensures any
pending or in-progress work is drained before interface teardown
proceeds, preventing the work from invoking the driver abort
callback after the interface is gone.

Add SPDX-License-Identifier lines to some files where
they are missing in the net/wireless directory.
Remove licensing text from individual files headers (where
present) to canonicalize the library references.
Use (mostly) either GPL-2.0 or ISC, depending on the
license wording (or not) in the files.
radiotap.c does not mention which BSD variant it intends for the
license. My selection of 'OR BSD-2-Clause' for radiotap.c was
based on research into this code's history and its licensing
elsewhere. In OpenBSD, radiotap code (which likely either
derived from this code, or this code was derived from) has the
BSD-2-Clause license. Very similar code in the radiotap library
user space tool, by the same authors Andy Green and Johannes
Berg, has an ISC license. Also the ISC license is used by
Johannes for other contributions in the Linux wireless system.
Since the radiotap.c license text here mentions BSD, but not a
specific version, I chose the closest BSD variant to ISC, which
is BSD-2-Clause.

The sequence of operations that needs to be done in wiphy_suspend is
identical for the case where there is no wowlan configured, and for the
case that it is but the driver refused to do wowlan (by returning 1 from
rdev_suspend).
The current code duplicates this set of operations for each one of the
cases.
In particular, next patch will change the locking of cfg80211_leave_all to
not hold the wiphy lock, which will be easier to do if it is not called
twice.
Change the code to handle first the case that wowlan is configured, and
then handle both cases (driver refused to do wowlan and no wowlan
configured) in one place.
Note that this changes the behaviour to set suspended=true also when
we were not registered yet, but that makes sense anyway, as wiphy works
can be queued also before registration.

The radiotap parser is currently only used with the radiotap
namespace (not with vendor namespaces), but if the undefined
field 18 is used, the alignment/size is unknown as well. In
this case, iterator->_next_ns_data isn't initialized (it's
only set for skipping vendor namespaces), and syzbot points
out that we later compare against this uninitialized value.
Fix this by moving the rejection of unknown radiotap fields
down to after the in-namespace lookup, so it will really use
iterator->_next_ns_data only for vendor namespaces, even in
case undefined fields are present.

This converts some of the visually simpler cases that have been split
over multiple lines. I only did the ones that are easy to verify the
resulting diff by having just that final GFP_KERNEL argument on the next
line.
Somebody should probably do a proper coccinelle script for this, but for
me the trivial script actually resulted in an assertion failure in the
middle of the script. I probably had made it a bit _too_ trivial.
So after fighting that far a while I decided to just do some of the
syntactically simpler cases with variations of the previous 'sed'
scripts.
The more syntactically complex multi-line cases would mostly really want
whitespace cleanup anyway.

This is the exact same thing as the 'alloc_obj()' version, only much
smaller because there are a lot fewer users of the *alloc_flex()
interface.
As with alloc_obj() version, this was done entirely with mindless brute
force, using the same script, except using 'flex' in the pattern rather
than 'objs*'.
Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

Add an option to operate as the RSTA in an FTM measurement request.
When requested, the device will dwell on the requested channel until
the peer starts the FTM negotiation. This option is only valid for
trigger-based/non trigger-based measurement with LMR feedback which
will allow the RSTA to receive the results of the measurement.

When the AP has an advertised TID to Link Mapping (TTLM) it shall
include the element in the association response. As such, when this
element is present it needs to be used for the currently dormant links.
See Draft P802.11REVmf_D1.0 section 35.3.7.2.3 ("Negotiation of TTLM")
for the details. The flag is also not usable in case userspace wants to
specify a negotiated TTLM during association.
Note that for the link reconfiguration case, mac80211 did not use the
information. Draft P802.11REVmf_D1.0 states in section 35.3.6.4 ("Link
reconfiguration to the setup links) that we "shall operate with all the
TIDs mapped to the newly added links ..."
All this means that the flag is not needed. The implementation should
parse the information from the association response.

After NAN was started, cluster id updates from the user space should not
happen, since the device already started a cluster with the
previousely provided id.
Since NL80211_CMD_CHANGE_NAN_CONFIG requires to set the full NAN
configuration, we can't require that NL80211_NAN_CONF_CLUSTER_ID won't
be included in this command, and keeping the last confgiured value just
to be able to compare it against the new one seems a bit overkill.
Therefore, just ignore cluster id in this command and clarify the

HT flags don't really make sense when applied to S1G channels
especially given the bandwidths both used for calculations and
conveyed (i.e 20MHz). Similarly with the 80/160/..MHz channels,
each bonded subchannel is validated individually within
cfg80211_s1g_usable(), so the regulatory validation is similarly
redundant. Additionally, usermode application output (such as iwinfo
below) doesn't particularly make sense when enumerating S1G channels:
before:
925.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 47) [NO_HT40+, NO_HT40-, NO_16MHZ]
926.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 49) [NO_HT40+, NO_HT40-, NO_16MHZ]
927.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 51) [NO_HT40+, NO_HT40-, NO_16MHZ, NO_PRIMARY]
after:
925.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 47) [NO_16MHZ]
926.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 49) [NO_16MHZ]
927.500 MHz (Band: 900 MHz, Channel 51) [NO_16MHZ, NO_PRIMARY]
Don't process the S1G band when applying HT flags as both the regulatory
component is redundant and the flags don't make sense for S1G channels.

For example, with 160 MHz bandwidth, HE-MCS 13, HE-NSS 4, and HE-GI 0,
the multiplication (result * rate->nss) overflows the 32-bit 'result'
variable before division by 8, leading to significantly underestimated
bitrate values.
The overflow occurs because the NSS multiplication operates on a 32-bit
integer that cannot accommodate intermediate values exceeding
4,294,967,295. When overflow happens, the value wraps around, producing
incorrect bitrates for high MCS and NSS combinations.
Fix this by utilizing the 64-bit 'tmp' variable for the NSS
multiplication and subsequent divisions via do_div(). This approach
preserves full precision throughout the entire calculation, with the
final value assigned to 'result' only after completing all operations.

Userspace may fail to connect to certain BSS that were initially
marked as unusable due to regulatory restrictions (use_for = 0,
e.g., 6 GHz power type mismatch). Even after these restrictions
are removed and the BSS becomes usable, connection attempts still
fail.
The issue occurs in cfg80211_update_known_bss() where the use_for
flag is updated using bitwise AND (&=) instead of direct assignment.
Once a BSS is marked with use_for = 0, the AND operation masks out
any subsequent non-zero values, permanently keeping the flag at 0.
This causes __cfg80211_get_bss(), invoked by nl80211_assoc_bss(), to
fail the check "(bss->pub.use_for & use_for) != use_for", thereby
blocking association.
Replace the bitwise AND operation with direct assignment so the use_for
flag accurately reflects the current BSS state.

Currently, whenever cfg80211_stop_iface() is called, the entire iface
is stopped. However, there could be a need in AP/P2P_GO mode, where
one would like to stop a single link in MLO operation instead of the
whole MLD interface.
Hence, introduce cfg80211_stop_link() to allow drivers to tear down
only a specified AP/P2P_GO link during MLO operation. Passing -1
preserves the existing behavior of stopping the whole interface. Make
cfg80211_stop_iface() call this function by passing -1 to keep the
default behavior the same, that is, to stop all links and use
cfg80211_stop_link() with the desired link_id for AP/P2P_GO mode, to
stop only that link.
This brings no behavioral change for single-link/non-MLO interfaces,
and enables drivers to stop an AP/P2P_GO link without disrupting other
links on the same interface.

If an interface is set down or, per the previous patch, changes
type, radar detection for it should be cancelled. This is done
for AP mode in mac80211 (somewhat needlessly, since cfg80211 can
do it, but didn't until now), but wasn't handled for mesh, so if
radar detection was started and then the interface set down or
its type switched (the latter sometimes happning in the hwsim
test 'mesh_peer_connected_dfs'), radar detection would be around
with the interface unknown to the driver, later leading to some
warnings around chanctx usage.

When changing the interface type, all activity on the interface has
to be stopped first. This was done independent of existing code in
cfg80211_leave(), so didn't handle e.g. background radar detection.
Use cfg80211_leave() to handle it the same way.
Note that cfg80211_leave() behaves slightly differently for IBSS in
wireless extensions, it won't send an event in that case. We could
handle that, but since nl80211 was used to change the type, IBSS is
rare, and wext is already a corner case, it doesn't seem worth it.

Currently if a user enqueues a work item using schedule_delayed_work() the
used wq is "system_wq" (per-cpu wq) while queue_delayed_work() use
WORK_CPU_UNBOUND (used when a cpu is not specified). The same applies to
schedule_work() that is using system_wq and queue_work(), that makes use
again of WORK_CPU_UNBOUND.
This lack of consistency cannot be addressed without refactoring the API.
For more details see the Link tag below.
This continues the effort to refactor workqueue APIs, which began with
the introduction of new workqueues and a new alloc_workqueue flag in:
commit 128ea9f6cc ("workqueue: Add system_percpu_wq and system_dfl_wq")
commit 930c2ea566 ("workqueue: Add new WQ_PERCPU flag")
Switch to using system_dfl_wq because system_unbound_wq is going away as part of
a workqueue restructuring.

The normal timer mechanism assume that timeout further in the future
need a lower accuracy. As an example, the granularity for a timer
scheduled 4096 ms in the future on a 1000 Hz system is already 512 ms.
This granularity is perfectly sufficient for e.g. timeouts, but there
are other types of events that will happen at a future point in time and
require a higher accuracy.
Add a new wiphy_hrtimer_work type that uses an hrtimer internally. The
API is almost identical to the existing wiphy_delayed_work and it can be
used as a drop-in replacement after minor adjustments. The work will be
scheduled relative to the current time with a slack of 1 millisecond.

In multi-radio wiphy architecture, where a single wiphy can have
multiple radios tied to it, radio specific configuration parameters
and global wiphy parameters are maintained for the entire physical
device and common to all radios. But, each radio in a wiphy can
have different values for each radio configuration parameter like
RTS threshold. With the current debugfs directory structure, the
values of global wiphy configuration parameters can be viewed, but,
values of individual radio configuration parameters cannot be viewed.
To address this requirement, maintain separate entries of each radio
configuration parameter i.e., RTS threshold in corresponding radio-
specific debugfs directory. This way, radio-specific configuration
parameters can be maintained along with global wiphy configuration
parameters. Whenever the values are changed for one radio, the values
for rest of the radios in the wiphy and the global wiphy parameter
value will remain intact.

To address this, in addition to maintaining global wiphy configuration
parameters common to all radios, create separate debugfs directories
for each radio in a wiphy to maintain parameters corresponding to that
radio in this directory.
In implementation, maintain a dentry structure in wiphy_radio_cfg, a
structure containing radio configurations of a wiphy. This struct is
maintained to denote per-radio configurations of a wiphy. Create
separate directories representing each radio within phy#X directory in
debugfs during wiphy registration.

times the NL80211_ATTR_CHANNEL_WIDTH is not used as its implied to be

In multi-radio devices, it is possible to have an MLD AP and a monitor
interface active at the same time. In such cases, monitor mode may not
be able to specify a fixed channel and could end up capturing frames
from all radios, including those outside the intended frequency bands.
This patch adds frequency validation for monitor mode. Received frames
are now only processed if their frequency fall within the allowed ranges
of the radios specified by the interface's radio_mask.
This prevents monitor mode from capturing frames outside the supported radio.

Currently, the S1G channelisation implementation differs from that of
VHT, which is the PHY that S1G is based on. The major difference between
the clock rate is 1/10th of VHT. However how their channelisation is
represented within cfg80211 and mac80211 vastly differ.
To rectify this, remove the use of IEEE80211_CHAN_1/2/4.. flags that were
previously used to indicate the control channel width, however it should be
implied that the control channels are 1MHz in the case of S1G. Additionally,
introduce the invert - being IEEE80211_CHAN_NO_4/8/16MHz - that imply
the control channel may not be used for a certain bandwidth. With these
new flags, we can perform regulatory and chandef validation just as we would
for VHT.
To deal with the notion that S1G PHYs may contain a 2MHz primary channel,
introduce a new variable, s1g_primary_2mhz, which indicates whether we are
operating on a 2MHz primary channel. In this case, the chandef::chan points to
the 1MHz primary channel pointed to by the primary channel location. Alongside
this, introduce some new helper routines that can extract the sibling 1MHz
channel. The sibling being the alternate 1MHz primary subchannel within the
2MHz primary channel that is not pointed to by chandef::chan.
Furthermore, due to unique restrictions imposed on S1G PHYs, introduce
a new flag, IEEE80211_CHAN_S1G_NO_PRIMARY, which states that the 1MHz channel
cannot be used as a primary channel. This is assumed to be set by vendors
as it is hardware and regdom specific, When we validate a 2MHz primary channel,
we need to ensure both 1MHz subchannels do not contain this flag. If one or
both of the 1MHz subchannels contain this flag then the 2MHz primary is not
permitted for use as a primary channel.
Properly integrate S1G channel validation such that it is implemented
according with other PHY types such as VHT. Additionally, implement a new
S1G-specific regulatory flag to allow cfg80211 to understand specific
vendor requirements for S1G PHYs.

Add support for sending and receiving action frames over a NAN Device
interface:
- For Synchronized NAN operation NAN Service Discovery
Frames (SDFs) and NAN Action Frames (NAFs) transmissions
over a NAN Device interface, a channel parameter is not
mandatory as the frame can be transmitted based on the NAN
Device schedule.
- For Unsynchronized NAN Discovery (USD) operation the
SDFs and NAFs could be transmitted using NL80211_CMD_FRAME
where a specific channel and dwell time are configured.
As Synchronized NAN Operation and USD can be done concurrently,
both modes need to be supported. Thus, allow sending NAN action
frames when user space handles the NAN Discovery Engine (DE) with
and without providing a channel as a parameter.

After commit 8cc71fc3b8 ("wifi: cfg80211: Fix "no buffer
space available" error in nl80211_get_station() for MLO"),
the per-link data is only included in station dumps, where
the size limit is somewhat less of an issue. However, it's
still an issue, depending on how many links a station has
and how much per-link data there is. Thus, for now, disable
per-link statistics entirely.
A complete fix will need to take this into account, make it
opt-in by userspace, and change the dump format to be able
to split a single station's data across multiple netlink
dump messages, which all together is too much development
for a fix.

In hidden SSID we have separate BSS entries for the beacon and for the
probe response(s).
The BSS entry time stamps represent the age of the BSS;
when was the last time we heard the BSS.
When we receive a beacon of a hidden SSID it means that we heard that
BSS, so it makes sense to indicate that in the probe response entries.
Do that.

Currently, nl80211_get_station() allocates a fixed buffer size using
NLMSG_DEFAULT_SIZE. In multi-link scenarios - particularly when the
number of links exceeds two - this buffer size is often insufficient
to accommodate complete station statistics, resulting in "no buffer
space available" errors.
To address this, modify nl80211_get_station() to return only
accumulated station statistics and exclude per link stats.
Pass a new flag (link_stats) to nl80211_send_station() to control
the inclusion of per link statistics. This allows retaining
detailed output with per link data in dump commands, while
excluding it from other commands where it is not needed.
This change modifies the handling of per link stats introduced in
commit 82d7f841d9 ("wifi: cfg80211: extend to embed link level
statistics in NL message") to enable them only for
nl80211_dump_station().
Apply the same fix to cfg80211_del_sta_sinfo() by skipping per link
stats to avoid buffer issues. cfg80211_new_sta() doesn't include
stats and is therefore not impacted.

The so-called fullmac devices rely on firmware functionality and/or API to
change BSS parameters. Today there are limited drivers supporting the
nl80211 primitive, but they only handle a subset of the bss parameters
passed if any. The mac80211 driver does handle all parameters and stores
their configured values. Some of the BSS parameters were already conditional
by wiphy->features. For these the wiphy->bss_param_support and wiphy->features
fields are silently aligned in wiphy_register(). Maybe better to issue a warning
instead when they are misaligned.

If a valid radio index is not found, the function returns -ENOENT. If the
channel argument itself is invalid, it returns -EINVAL. However, since the
caller only checks for < 0, the distinction between these error codes is
not utilized much. Also, handling these two distinct error codes throughout
the codebase adds complexity, as both cases must be addressed separately. A
subsequent change aims to simplify this by using a single error code for
all invalid cases, making error handling more consistent and streamlined.
To support this change, update the return value to -EINVAL when a valid
radio index is not found. This is still appropriate because, even if the
channel argument is structurally valid, the absence of a corresponding
radio index implies that the argument is effectively invalid—otherwise, a
valid index would have been found.

introduced netif_ vs dev_ function semantics: the former expects locked

follow this semantics on either side, but there are more dev_xxx handlers
now that don't fit. Rename them to netif_xxx where appropriate.

S1G short beacons are an optional frame type used in an S1G BSS
that contain a limited set of elements. While they are optional,
they are a fundamental part of S1G that enables significant
power saving.
Expose 2 additional netlink attributes,
NL80211_ATTR_S1G_LONG_BEACON_PERIOD which denotes the number of beacon
intervals between each long beacon and NL80211_ATTR_S1G_SHORT_BEACON
which is a nested attribute containing the short beacon tail and
head. We split them as the long beacon period cannot be updated,
and is only used when initialisng the interface, whereas the short
beacon data can be used to both initialise and update the templates.
This follows how things such as the beacon interval and DTIM period
currently operate.
During the initialisation path, we ensure we have the long beacon
period if the short beacon data is being passed down, whereas
the update path will simply update the template if its sent down.
The short beacon data is validated using the same routines for regular
beacons as they support correctly parsing the short beacon format
while ensuring the frame is well-formed.

These commits all set the structure to be in an inconsistent

being filled in. That's fine for what the code does now, but
with the removal of __counted_by() in 444020f4bf ("wifi:

longer needed and it does leave a bit of a landmine there
since breaking out of some code to send the scan or something

In cfg80211_off_channel_oper_allowed(), the current logic disallows
off-channel operations if any link operates on a radar channel,
assuming such channels cannot be vacated. This assumption holds for
non-MLO interfaces but not for MLO.
With MLO and multi-radio devices, different links may operate on
separate radios. This allows one link to scan off-channel while
another remains on a radar channel. For example, in a 5 GHz
split-phy setup, the lower band can scan while the upper band
stays on a radar channel.
Off-channel operations can be allowed if the radio/link onto which the
input channel falls is different from the radio/link which has an active
radar channel. Therefore, fix cfg80211_off_channel_oper_allowed() by
returning false only if the requested channel maps to the same radio as
an active radar channel. Allow off-channel operations when the requested
channel is on a different radio, as in MLO with multi-radio setups.

Implement dot11ExtendedRegInfoSupport to advertise non-AP station
regulatory power capability as part of regulatory connectivity
element in (Re)Association request frames so that AP can achieve
maximum client connectivity. Control field which was interpreted
using value of 3-bits B5 to B3, now uses value of 4-bits B6 to B3 to
interpret the type of AP. Hence update IEEE80211_HE_6GHZ_OPER_CTRL_REG_INFO
to parse 4-bits control field. If older AP still updates only 3-bits
value of control field, station can still interpret the value as per
section E.2.7 of IEEE 802.11 REVme D7.0 and support the appropriate
AP type.
Also update IEEE80211_6GHZ_CTRL_REG_INDOOR_SP_AP as the value of
standard power AP is changed to 8 instead of 4 so that AP can support both
LPI AP and SP AP to maximize the connectivity with stations. For backward
compatibility, keeping value 4 as old AP by limiting it to SP AP only.

This patch is a mitigation to prevent the A-MSDU spoofing vulnerability
for mesh networks. The initial update to the IEEE 802.11 standard, in
response to the FragAttacks, missed this case (CVE-2025-27558). It can
be considered a variant of CVE-2020-24588 but for mesh networks.
This patch tries to detect if a standard MSDU was turned into an A-MSDU
by an adversary. This is done by parsing a received A-MSDU as a standard
MSDU, calculating the length of the Mesh Control header, and seeing if
the 6 bytes after this header equal the start of an rfc1042 header. If
equal, this is a strong indication of an ongoing attack attempt.
This defense was tested with mac80211_hwsim against a mesh network that
uses an empty Mesh Address Extension field, i.e., when four addresses
are used, and when using a 12-byte Mesh Address Extension field, i.e.,
when six addresses are used. Functionality of normal MSDUs and A-MSDUs
was also tested, and confirmed working, when using both an empty and
12-byte Mesh Address Extension field.
It was also tested with mac80211_hwsim that A-MSDU attacks in non-mesh
networks keep being detected and prevented.
Note that the vulnerability being patched, and the defense being
implemented, was also discussed in the following paper and in the
following IEEE 802.11 presentation:

S1G beacons contain fixed length optional fields that precede the
variable length elements, ensure we take this into account when
validating the beacon. This particular case was missed in
1e1f706fc2 ("wifi: cfg80211/mac80211: correctly parse S1G
beacon optional elements").

In case of multi-radio wiphys, with per-radio RTS threshold brought
into use, RTS threshold for each radio in a wiphy can be recorded in
wiphy parameter - wiphy_radio_cfg, as an array. Add a new attribute -
NL80211_WIPHY_RADIO_ATTR_RTS_THRESHOLD in nested parameter -
NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_RADIOS. When a request for getting RTS threshold
for a particular radio is received, parse the radio id and get the
required data. Add this data to the newly added nested attribute
NL80211_WIPHY_RADIO_ATTR_RTS_THRESHOLD. Add support to report this
data to userspace.

Currently, setting RTS threshold is based on per-phy basis, i.e., all the
radios present in a wiphy will take RTS threshold value to be the one sent
from userspace. But each radio in a multi-radio wiphy can have different
RTS threshold requirements.
To extend support to set RTS threshold for each radio, get the radio for
which RTS threshold needs to be changed from the user. Use the attribute
in NL - NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_RADIO_INDEX, to identify the radio of interest.
Create a new structure - wiphy_radio_cfg and add rts_threshold in it as a
u32 value to store RTS threshold of each radio in a wiphy and allocate
memory for it during wiphy register based on the wiphy.n_radio updated by
drivers. Pass radio id received from the user to mac80211 drivers along
with its corresponding RTS threshold.

Currently, per-radio attributes are set on per-phy basis, i.e., all the
radios present in a wiphy will take attributes values sent from user. But
each radio in a wiphy can get different values from userspace based on
its requirement.
To extend support to set per-radio attributes, add support to get radio
index from userspace. Add an NL attribute - NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_RADIO_INDEX,
to get user specified radio index for which attributes should be changed.
Pass this to individual drivers, so that the drivers can use this radio
index to change per-radio attributes when necessary. Currently, per-radio
attributes identified are:
NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_TX_POWER_LEVEL
NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_ANTENNA_TX
NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_ANTENNA_RX
NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_RETRY_SHORT
NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_RETRY_LONG
NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_FRAG_THRESHOLD
NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_RTS_THRESHOLD
NL80211_ATTR_WIPHY_COVERAGE_CLASS
NL80211_ATTR_TXQ_LIMIT
NL80211_ATTR_TXQ_MEMORY_LIMIT
NL80211_ATTR_TXQ_QUANTUM
By default, the radio index is set to -1. This means the attribute should
be treated as a global configuration. If the user has not specified any
index, then the radio index passed to individual drivers would be -1. This
would indicate that the attribute applies to all radios in that wiphy.

Currently, sinfo structure is supported to fill information at
deflink( or one of the links) level for station. This has problems
when applied to fetch multi-link(ML) station information.
Hence, if valid_links are present, support filling link_station
structure for each link.
This will be helpful to check the link related statistics during MLO.
Additionally, TXQ stats for pertid are applicable at station level
not at link level. Therefore check link_id is less then 0, before
filling TXQ stats in pertid stats.

Currently, sinfo->filled is for set in sta_set_sinfo() after filling
the corresponding fields in station_info structure for station statistics.
For non-ML stations, the fields are correctly filled from sta->deflink
and corresponding sinfo->filled bit are set, but for MLO any one of
link's data is filled and corresponding sinfo->filled bit is set.
For MLO before embed NL message, fields of sinfo structure like
bytes, packets, signal are updated with accumulated, best, least of all
links data. But some of fields like rssi, pertid don't make much sense
at MLO level.
Hence, to prevent misinterpretation, clear sinfo->filled for fields
which don't make much sense at MLO level. This will prevent filling
misleading values in NL message.

Currently, station_info structure is passed to fill station statistics
from mac80211/drivers. After NL message send to user space for requested
station statistics, memory for station statistics is freed in cfg80211.
Therefore, memory allocation/free for link station statistics should
also happen in cfg80211 only.
Hence, allocate the memory for link_station structure for all
possible links and free in cfg80211_sinfo_release_content().

Currently statistics are handled at link level for multi-link
operation(MLO). There is no provision to check accumulated statistics
for a multi-link(ML) station. Other statistics, such as signal, rates,
are also managed at the link level only.
Statistics such as packets, bytes, signal, rates, etc are useful to
provide overall overview for the ML stations.
Statistics such as packets, bytes are accumulated statistics at MLO level.
However, MLO statistics for rates and signal can not be accumulated since
it won't make much sense. Hence, handle other statistics such as signal,
rates, etc bit differently at MLO level.
The signal could be the best of all links-
e.g. if Link 1 has a signal strength of -70 dBm and Link 2 has -65 dBm,
the signal for MLO will be -65 dBm.
The rate could be determined based on the most recently updated link-
e.g. if link 1 has a rate of 300 Mbps and link 2 has a rate of 450 Mbps,
the MLO rate can be calculated based on the inactivity of each link.
If the inactive time for link 1 is 20 seconds and for link 2 is 10 seconds,
the MLO rate will be the most recently updated rate, which is link 2's
rate of 450 Mbps.
The inactive time, dtim_period and beacon_interval can be taken as the
least value of field from link level.
Similarly, other MLO level applicable fields are handled and the fields
which don't make much sense at MLO level, a subsequent change will handle
to embed NL message.
Hence, add accumulated and other statistics for MLO station if valid links
are present to represent comprehensive overview for the ML stations.
