7031ee9443 iio: magnetometer: bmc150_magn: use automated cleanup for mutex
Use guard() and scoped_guard() to replace manual mutex lock/unlock
calls. This simplifies error handling and ensures RAII-style cleanup.

guard() is used in read_raw, write_raw, trig_reen, and
trigger_set_state. Case blocks using guard() in read_raw and write_raw
are wrapped in braces at the case label level to ensure clear scope for
the cleanup guards.

A bmc150_magn_set_power_mode_locked() helper is added to deduplicate
the lock-call-unlock pattern used by remove, runtime_suspend, suspend,
and resume.

The trigger_handler function is left unchanged as mixing guard() with
goto error paths can be fragile.

663eb8763c i3c: simplify combined i3c/i2c dependencies
All combined i2c/i3c drivers appear to suffer from the same link
time problem when CONFIG_I3C is set to 'm':

arm-linux-gnueabi-ld: drivers/iio/magnetometer/mmc5633.o: in function `mmc5633_i3c_driver_init':
mmc5633.c:(.init.text+0x30): undefined reference to `i3c_driver_register_with_owner'

This was previously fixed every time by marking individual
drivers as 'depends on I2C; depends on I3C || !I3C', but this gets
tedious and is somewhat confusing.

Add a Kconfig symbol 'I3C_OR_I2C' to help replace those dependencies,
and use this in all the existing drivers that had already fixed it
as well as the new mmc5633 driver.

82ee91d6b1 iio: magnetometer: tlv493d: remove erroneous shift in X-axis data
TLV493D_BX2_MAG_X_AXIS_LSB is defined as GENMASK(7, 4). FIELD_GET()
already right-shifts bits [7:4] to [3:0], so the additional >> 4
discards most of the X-axis low nibble. The Y and Z axes correctly
omit this extra shift. Remove it.

93f60f6721 iio: magnetometer: si7210: simplify probe with devm_regulator_get_enable_read_voltage()
Simplify probe by using devm_regulator_get_enable_read_voltage() to
get, enable and read the regulator voltage in a single call, caching
the value at probe time.

This is a functional change as VDD voltage is now read once at probe
rather than dynamically on each temperature measurement. However, in
real deployments it is very rare for VDD to change after initial probe.

Passing IRQF_ONESHOT ensures that the interrupt source is masked until

106511d280 iio: magnetometer: add support for Infineon TLV493D 3D Magentic sensor
The Infineon TLV493D is a Low-Power 3D Magnetic Sensor. The Sensor
applications includes joysticks, control elements (white goods,
multifunction knops), or electric meters (anti tampering) and any
other application that requires accurate angular measurements at
low power consumptions.

The Sensor is configured over I2C, and as part of Sensor measurement
data it provides 3-Axis magnetic fields and temperature core measurement.

The driver supports raw value read and buffered input via external trigger
to allow streaming values with the same sensing timestamp.

While the sensor has an interrupt pin multiplexed with an I2C SCL pin.
But for bus configurations interrupt(INT) is not recommended, unless timing
constraints between I2C data transfers and interrupt pulses are monitored
and aligned.

The Sensor's I2C register map and mode information is described in product
User Manual [1].

0ca7cb7089 IIO: New device support, features and cleanup for 6.16 - take 2
Note - last minute rebase was to drop a typo patch that I'd accidentally
picked up (in the microblaze arch Kconfig)
Take 2 is due to that rebase messing up some fixes tags that were
referring to patches after that point.

There is a known merge conflict due to changes in neighbouring lines.

 Stephen's resolution in linux-next is:
 https://lore.kernel.org/linux-next/20250506155728.65605bae@canb.auug.org.au/

Added 3 named IIO reviewers to MAINTAINERS. This is a reflection of those
who have been doing much of this work for some time. Lars-Peter is
removed from the entry having moved on to other topics. Thanks
Nuno, David and Andy for stepping up and Lars-Peter for all your
 hard work in the past!

Includes the usual mix of new device support, features and general
 cleanup.

This time we also have some tree wide changes.

 - Rip out the iio_device_claim_direct_scoped() as it proved hard to work
with. This series includes quite a few related cleanups such as use
of guard or factoring code out to allow direct returns.
 - Switch from iio_device_claim/release_direct_mode() to new
iio_device_claim/release_direct() which is structured so that sparse
can warn on failed releases. There were a few false positives but
those were mostly in code that benefited from being cleaned up as part
   of this process.
 - Introduce iio_push_to_buffers_with_ts() to replace the _timestamp()
version over time. This version takes the size of the supplied buffer
which the core checks is at least as big as expected by calculation
from channel descriptions of those channels enabled. Use this in
   an initial set of drivers.
 - Add macros for IIO_DECLARE_BUFFER_WITH_TS() and
IIO_DECLARE_DMA_BUFFER_WITH_TS() to avoid lots of fiddly code to ensure
correctly aligned buffers for timestamps being added onto the end of
   channel data.

 New device support
 ------------------

 adi,ad3530r
 - New driver for AD3530, AD3530R, AD3531 and AD3531R DACs with
programmable gain controls. R variants have internal references.
 adi,ad7476
 - Add support (dt compatible only) for the Rohm BU79100G ADC which is
   fully compatible with the ti,ads7866.

Merge tag 'iio-for-6.16a-take2' of ssh://gitolite.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jic23/iio into char-misc-next

Jonathan writes:

IIO: New device support, features and cleanup for 6.16 - take 2

Note - last minute rebase was to drop a typo patch that I'd accidentally
picked up (in the microblaze arch Kconfig)
Take 2 is due to that rebase messing up some fixes tags that were
referring to patches after that point.

There is a known merge conflict due to changes in neighbouring lines.

Stephen's resolution in linux-next is:
https://lore.kernel.org/linux-next/20250506155728.65605bae@canb.auug.org.au/

Added 3 named IIO reviewers to MAINTAINERS. This is a reflection of those
who have been doing much of this work for some time. Lars-Peter is
removed from the entry having moved on to other topics. Thanks
Nuno, David and Andy for stepping up and Lars-Peter for all your
hard work in the past!

Includes the usual mix of new device support, features and general
cleanup.

This time we also have some tree wide changes.

- Rip out the iio_device_claim_direct_scoped() as it proved hard to work
with. This series includes quite a few related cleanups such as use
of guard or factoring code out to allow direct returns.
- Switch from iio_device_claim/release_direct_mode() to new
iio_device_claim/release_direct() which is structured so that sparse
can warn on failed releases. There were a few false positives but
those were mostly in code that benefited from being cleaned up as part
  of this process.
- Introduce iio_push_to_buffers_with_ts() to replace the _timestamp()
version over time. This version takes the size of the supplied buffer
which the core checks is at least as big as expected by calculation
from channel descriptions of those channels enabled. Use this in
  an initial set of drivers.
- Add macros for IIO_DECLARE_BUFFER_WITH_TS() and
IIO_DECLARE_DMA_BUFFER_WITH_TS() to avoid lots of fiddly code to ensure
correctly aligned buffers for timestamps being added onto the end of
  channel data.

70788d26ae iio: normalize array sentinel style
Use `\t(\{ ?\},|\{\}|\{\s*/\*.*\*/\s*\},?)$` regex to find and replace
the array sentinel in all IIO drivers to the same style.

For some time, we've been trying to consistently use `{ }` (no trailing
comma, no comment, one space between braces) for array sentinels in the
IIO subsystem. Still nearly 50% of existing code uses a different style.
To save reviewers from having to request this trivial change as
frequently, let's normalize the style in all existing IIO drivers.
At least when code is copy/pasted to new drivers, the style will be
consistent.

05e8d261a3 gcc-15: add '__nonstring' markers to byte arrays
All of these cases are perfectly valid and good traditional C, but hit
by the "you're not NUL-terminating your byte array" warning.

And none of the cases want any terminating NUL character.

Mark them __nonstring to shut up gcc-15 (and in the case of the ak8974

expand the 3-byte and 6-byte arrays by one extra byte, because it was
the simpler change).

 - Add check that all buffers passed to iio_read_channel_ext_info()
and iio_read_channel_label() are page sized and page aligned.
Done this way because the callbacks are almost always only used
to fill sysfs attributes. The check covers the tiny percentage

 capella,cm3232
 - Reset device before checking hardware ID inline with suggested flow
   from datasheet.

   code.
 - Convert to devm_ based cleanup.
 - Remove unnecessary runtime PM complexity as clocks are managed through
   PM domains.
 - Switch pm_ptr() removing need for __maybe_unused markings.
 - use read_poll_timeout() to replace open coded equivalent.

f1ee5483e4 iio: magnetometer: yas530: use signed integer type for clamp limits
In the function yas537_measure() there is a clamp_val() with limits of
-BIT(13) and BIT(13) - 1. The input clamp value h[] is of type s32. The
BIT() is of type unsigned long integer due to its define in
include/vdso/bits.h. The lower limit -BIT(13) is recognized as -8192 but
expressed as an unsigned long integer. The size of an unsigned long
integer differs between 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. Converting this
to type s32 may lead to undesired behavior.

Additionally, in the calculation lines h[0], h[1] and h[2] the unsigned
long integer divisor BIT(13) causes an unsigned division, shifting the
left-hand side of the equation back and forth, possibly ending up in large
positive values instead of negative values on 32-bit architectures.

To solve those two issues, declare a signed integer with a value of
BIT(13).

There is another omission in the clamp line: clamp_val() returns a value
and it's going nowhere here. Self-assign it to h[i] to make use of the
clamp macro.

Finally, replace clamp_val() macro by clamp() because after changing the
limits from type unsigned long integer to signed integer it's fine that
way.

2eff01ee28 Char/Misc/IIO/Whatever driver subsystem updates for 6.13-rc1
Here is the "big and hairy" char/misc/iio and other small driver
subsystem updates for 6.13-rc1. Sorry for doing this at the end of the
merge window, conference and holiday travel got in the way on my side
(hence the 5am pull request emails...)

Loads of things in here, and even a fun merge conflict!
   - rust misc driver bindings and other rust changes to make misc
drivers actually possible. I think this is the tipping point,
expect to see way more rust drivers going forward now that these
bindings are present. Next merge window hopefully we will have pci
and platform drivers working, which will fully enable almost all
driver subsystems to start accepting (or at least getting) rust
drivers. This is the end result of a lot of work from a lot of
people, congrats to all of them for getting this far, you've proved
many of us wrong in the best way possible, working code :)
   - IIO driver updates, too many to list individually, that subsystem
     keeps growing and growing...
   - Interconnect driver updates
   - nvmem driver updates
   - pwm driver updates
   - platform_driver::remove() fixups, loads of them
   - counter driver updates
   - misc driver updates (keba?)
   - binder driver updates and fixes
   - loads of other small char/misc/etc driver updates and additions,
     full details in the shortlog.

Note, there is a semi-hairy rust merge conflict when pulling this. The
resolution has been in linux-next for a while and can be seen here:
 	https://lore.kernel.org/all/20241111173459.2646d4af@canb.auug.org.au/

All of these have been in linux-next for a while, with no other reported
issues other than that merge conflict.

9a884bdb6e iio: magnetometer: fix if () scoped_guard() formatting
Add mising braces after an if condition that contains scoped_guard().

This style is both preferred and necessary here, to fix warning after
scoped_guard() change in commit fcc22ac5ba ("cleanup: Adjust
scoped_guard() macros to avoid potential warning") to have if-else inside
of the macro. Current (no braces) use in af8133j_set_scale() yields
the following warnings:
af8133j.c:315:12: warning: suggest explicit braces to avoid ambiguous 'else' [-Wdangling-else]
af8133j.c:316:3: warning: add explicit braces to avoid dangling else [-Wdangling-else]

Fixes: fcc22ac5ba ("cleanup: Adjust scoped_guard() macros to avoid potential warning")

3c9b6fd741 iio: magnetometer: add Allegro MicroSystems ALS31300 3-D Linear Hall Effect driver
The Allegro MicroSystems ALS31300 is a 3-D Linear Hall Effect Sensor
mainly used for 3D head-on motion sensing applications.

The device is configured over I2C, and as part of the Sensor data the
temperature core is also provided.

While the device provides an IRQ gpio, it depends on a configuration
programmed into the internal EEPROM, thus only the default mode is
supported and buffered input via trigger is also supported to allow
streaming values with the same sensing timestamp.

The device can be configured with different sensitivities in factory,
but the sensitivity value used to calculate value into the Gauss
unit is not available from registers, thus the sensitivity is provided
by the compatible/device-id string which is based on the part number
as described in the datasheet page 2.

The to be removed IDs has been checked against the following resources:
1) DuckDuckGo

6a9262edff iio: Switch back to struct platform_driver::remove()
After commit 0edb555a65 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove()
return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for
platform drivers.

Convert all platform drivers below drivers/iio/ to use .remove(), with
the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As
.remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done
by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer.

While touching these files, make indention of the struct initializer
consistent in several files.
