Use kvm_vcpu_map() to get/pin the backing for vmcs12's APIC-access page, there's no reason it has to be restricted to 'struct page' backing. The APIC-access page actually doesn't need to be backed by anything, which is ironically why it got left behind by the series which introduced kvm_vcpu_map()[1]; the plan was to shove a dummy pfn into vmcs02[2], but that code never got merged. Switching the APIC-access page to kvm_vcpu_map() doesn't preclude using a magic pfn in the future, and will allow a future patch to drop kvm_vcpu_gpa_to_page(). Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
