Linux kernel source tree
Right now every time we need to figure out the type of an evsel for output purposes we do a quick sequence of ifs, but there are new cases where there is a need to do more complex iterations over multiple data structures, sso allow for caching this operation on a hole of 'struct evsel'. This should really be done on the evsel->priv area that 'perf script' sets up, but more work is needed to make sure that it is allocated when we need it, right now it is only used for conditionally, add some comments so that we move this to that 'perf script' specific area when the conditions are in place for that. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
