Document the critical-action property to describe the thermal action the OS should perform after the critical temperature is reached. The possible values are "shutdown" and "reboot". The motivation for introducing the critical-action property is that different systems may need different thermal actions when the critical temperature is reached. For example, in a desktop PC, it is desired that a shutdown happens after the critical temperature is reached. However, in some embedded cases, such behavior does not suit well, as the board may be unattended in the field and rebooting may be a better approach. The bootloader may also benefit from this new property as it can check the SoC temperature and in case the temperature is above the critical point, it can trigger a shutdown or reboot accordingly. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
