Replace the large switch statement with a look-up table when selecting the mode index. Makes the code easier to read. The table is sorted by resolutions; if run-time overhead from traversal becomes significant, binary search would be a possible optimization. The mode index requires a refresh-rate index to be added or subtracted, which still requires a minimal switch. In the original code, some of the indices did not contain this computation. Those cases would have been equivalent to adding 0, so they are now all subsumed in the switch's default branch. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
