Linux kernel source tree
When waiting for a port to get active/idle there is no point in the complexity of specifying an exact timeout and for that the suitable wait API instead of just using the maximum timeout. The sequence in particular is not performance critical at all either and due to scheduling it's not guaranteed anyhow how long the wait will last at the given timescale. In the usual case where the wait succeeds the actual time waited does not change with the increased timeout. Simplify things accordingly, describing the bspec platform specific timeouts in code comments. v2: Clarify the rationale in the commit log. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
