Linux kernel source tree
If bond_kobj_init() or later kzalloc() in bond_alloc_slave() fail, then we call kobject_put() on the slave->kobj. This in turn calls the release function slave_kobj_release() which will always try to cancel_delayed_work_sync(&slave->notify_work), which shouldn't be done on an uninitialized work struct. Always initialize the work struct earlier to avoid problems here. Syzbot bisected this down to a completely pointless commit, some fault injection may have been at work here that caused the alloc failure in the first place, which may interact badly with bisect. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
