It's ok to pass atomic check successfully if an atomic commit tries to disable the display pipeline which the connector belongs to. That is, when the crtc or the best_encoder pointers in struct drm_connector_state are NULL, drm_atomic_helper_connector_hdmi_check() should return 0. Without the check against the NULL pointers, drm_default_rgb_quant_range() called by drm_atomic_helper_connector_hdmi_check() would dereference the NULL pointer to_match in drm_match_cea_mode(). Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
