Some devices do not support interrupts and provide a single synchronous operation to send the command and receive the response on the same buffer. Currently, these types of drivers must use an internal buffer where they temporarily store the response between .send() and .recv() calls. Introduce a new flag (TPM_CHIP_FLAG_SYNC) to support synchronous send(). If that flag is set by the driver, tpm_try_transmit() will use the send() callback to send the command and receive the response on the same buffer synchronously. In that case send() return the number of bytes of the response on success, or -errno on failure. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
