While reading how `cntvct_el0` was read in the kernel, I found that __arch_get_hw_counter() is doing something very similar to what __arch_counter_get_cntvct() is already doing. Use the existing __arch_counter_get_cntvct() function instead of duplicating similar inline assembly code in __arch_get_hw_counter(). Both functions were performing nearly identical operations to read the cntvct_el0 register. The only difference was that __arch_get_hw_counter() included a memory clobber in its inline assembly, which appears unnecessary in this context. This change simplifies the code by eliminating duplicate functionality and improves maintainability by centralizing the counter access logic in a single implementation. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
