Total patches: 134 Fixes: tags: 86 cc:stable patches: 52 Reviews/patch: 0.73 Reviewed rate: 59% Summary of patch series in this merge: - "ocfs2: exit recovery thread on mount error path" (Joseph Qi): Stop OCFS2 recovery before freeing failed-mount state and replay slots, closing use-after-free and double-free races. Defer suballocator reclaim to break a transaction-lock deadlock with dismount. - "ocfs2: validate suballoc slot and bit of metadata blocks" (Joseph Qi): Validate OCFS2 metadata suballocator slots, bits and directory index block locations. That is fixed, as are kernel memory leaks in POSIX message-queue notifications and tmpfs casefold setup which could grow until memory is exhausted. A driver removal race which could crash the kernel is fixed too. The hibernation command through reboot() also stops taking the same mutex twice, avoiding a deadlock before suspension. On the boot side, bzip2 decoding now accepts valid full blocks emitted by lbzip2, fixing failures to boot those compressed kernels. Malformed bzip2 streams can no longer overflow the decode buffer, and LZ4 initrds are checked before the decoder can read past their end. raid/kunit: enable RAID6 PQ and XOR benchmarks if KUNIT_ALL_TESTS=m
Enabling the (possibly long-running benchmarks) by default may cause a big delay in boot time in case of built-in tests. However, they can still safely be enabled by default if all tests are modular, as they would only run when requested explicitly by the system administrator. xor: Add AVX-512 optimized xor_gen()
Add an implementation of xor_gen() using AVX-512.
It uses 512-bit vectors, i.e. ZMM registers. It also uses the
vpternlogq instruction to do three-input XORs when applicable.
It's enabled on x86_64 CPUs that have AVX512F && !PREFER_YMM. In
practice that means:
- AMD Zen 4 and later (client and server)
- Intel Sapphire Rapids and later (server)
- Intel Rocket Lake (client)
- Intel Nova Lake and later (client)
The !PREFER_YMM condition excludes the older AVX-512 implementations in
Intel Skylake Server and Intel Ice Lake. They could run this code, but
they're known to have overly-eager downclocking when ZMM registers are
used. This is the same policy that the crypto and CRC code uses.
Results from xor_benchmark on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X (Zen 5):

raid6/kunit: add a benchmark
Add a benchmark to test the RAID 6 P/Q functions for more representative block sizes and numbers of disks. This splits the maximum alloc size used for the benchmark from the max size for the kunit test because recovery is currently limited to a single page at a time. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. The runtime numbers are reported in GB/s as the numbers of modern implementations are basically unreadable as MB/s. This means retro-architectures could report 0, but that is an easy tradeoff. xor/kunit: add a benchmark
Add a benchmark to test the XOR functions for more representative block sizes and numbers of disks. Including 64k would be useful here, but increasing the test buffer size increases the runtime of the functional kunit test too much unfortunately. The runtime numbers are reported in GB/s as the numbers of modern implementations are basically unreadable as MB/s. This means retro-architectures could report 0, but that is an easy tradeoff. xor: enable lock context analysis

raid6: use kmalloc() in raid6_select_algo()
raid6_select_algo() allocates 8 pages for buffer that is used as a scratch area for selection of the best algorithm. This buffer can be allocated with kmalloc() as there's nothing special about it to go directly to the page allocator. kmalloc() provides a better API than ancient __get_free_pages(). kmalloc() does not require ugly casts and kfree() does not need to know the size of the freed object. There is no performance difference because kmalloc() redirects allocations of such size to the page allocator. Replace __get_free_pages() call with kmalloc(). raid6_kunit: randomize parameters and increase limits
The current test has double-quadratic behavior in the selection for the
updated ("XORed") disks, and in the selection of updated pointers, which
makes scaling it to more tests difficult. At the same time it only ever
tests with the maximum number of disks, which leaves a coverage hole for
smaller ones.
Fix this by randomizing the total number, failed disks and regions to
update, and increasing the upper number of tests disks.

raid6: warn when using less than four devices
Quoting H. Peter Anvin who came up with the RAID6 P/Q algorithm, and who wrote the initial implementation, then still part of the md driver: The RAID-6 code has *never* supported only 3 units, and if it ever worked for *any* of the implementations it was purely by accident. Speaking as the original author I should know; this was deliberate as in some cases the degenerate case (3) would have required extra trays in the code to no user benefit. While md never allowed less than 4 devices, btrfs does. This new warning will trigger for such file systems, but given how it already causes havoc that is a good thing. xor: pass the entire operation to the low-level ops
Currently the high-level xor code chunks up all operations into small units for only up to 1 + 4 vectors, and passes it to four different methods. This means the FPU/vector context is entered and left a lot for wide stripes, and a lot of indirect expensive indirect calls are performed. Switch to passing the entire gen_xor request to the low-level ops, and provide a macro to dispatch it to the existing helper. This reduce the number of indirect calls and FPU/vector context switches by a factor approaching nr_stripes / 4, and also reduces source and binary code size. sparc: move the XOR code to lib/raid/
Move the optimized XOR into lib/raid and include it it in xor.ko instead of always building it into the main kernel image. The code should probably be split into separate files for the two implementations, but for now this just does the trivial move.
