ARM: SoC fixes for 6.4, part 3
The final bug fixes for Qualcomm and Rockchips came in, all of them
for devicetree files:
- Devices on Qualcomm SC7180/SC7280 that are cache coherent are now
marked so correctly to fix a regression after a change in kernel behavior.
- Rockchips has a few minor changes for correctness of regulator and cache
properties, as well as fixes for incorrect behavior of the RK3568 PCI

dt-bindings: firmware: qcom,scm: Document that SCM can be dma-coherent
Trogdor devices use firmware backed by TF-A instead of Qualcomm's normal TZ. On TF-A we end up mapping memory as cacheable. Specifically, you can see in Trogdor's TF-A code [1] in qti_sip_mem_assign() that we call qti_mmap_add_dynamic_region() with MT_RO_DATA. This translates down to MT_MEMORY instead of MT_NON_CACHEABLE or MT_DEVICE. Let's allow devices like trogdor to be described properly by allowing "dma-coherent" in the SCM node. Tracing fixes for 6.4:
- Fix MAINTAINERS file to point to proper mailing list for rtla and rv
The mailing list pointed to linux-trace-devel instead of
linux-trace-kernel. The former is for the tracing libraries
and the latter is for anything in the Linux kernel tree.
The wrong mailing list was used because linux-trace-kernel did not
exist when rtla and rv were created.
- User events:
. Fix matching of dynamic events to their user events
When user writes to dynamic_events file, a lookup of the
registered dynamic events are made, but there were some cases
that a match could be incorrectly made.
. Add auto cleanup of user events
Have the user events automatically get removed when the last
reference (file descriptor) is closed. This was asked for to
prevent leaks of user events hanging around needing admins
to clean them up.
. Add persistent logic (but not let user space use it yet)
In some cases, having a persistent user event (one that does not
get cleaned up automatically) is useful. But there's still
debates about how to expose this to user space. The infrastructure
is added, but the API is not.
. Update the selftests
Update the user event selftests to reflect the above changes.

tracing/user_events: Document auto-cleanup and remove dyn_event refs
Now user_events auto-cleanup upon the last reference by default. This makes it not possible to use the dynamics event file via tracefs. Document that auto-cleanup is enabled by default and remove the refernce to /sys/kernel/tracing/dynamic_events file to make this clear. dt-bindings: pinctrl: qcom,pmic-mpp: Fix schema for "qcom,paired"
The "qcom,paired" schema is all wrong. First, it's a list rather than an
object(dictionary). Second, it is missing a required type. The meta-schema
normally catches this, but schemas under "$defs" was not getting checked.
A fix for that is pending.

ARM: SoC fixes for 6.4, part 2
Most of the changes this time are for the Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms.
There are bug fixes for error handling in Qualcomm icc-bwmon, rpmh-rsc,
ramp_controller and rmtfs driver as well as the AMD tee firmware
driver and a missing initialization in the Arm ff-a firmware driver.
The Qualcomm RPMh and EDAC drivers need some rework to work correctly
on all supported chips.
The DT fixes include:
- i.MX8 fixes for gpio, pinmux and clock settings
- ADS touchscreen gpio polarity settings in several machines
- Address dtb warnings for caches, panel and input-enable
properties on Qualcomm platforms
- Incorrect data on qualcomm platforms fir SA8155P power domains,
SM8550 LLCC, SC7180-lite SDRAM frequencies and SM8550 soundwire.

cgroup: Documentation: Clarify usage of memory limits
The existing documentation refers to memory.high as the "main mechanism to control memory usage." This seems incorrect to me - memory.high can result in reclaim pressure which simply leads to stalls unless some external component observes and actions on it (e.g. systemd-oomd can be used for this purpose). While this is feasible, users are unaware of this interaction and are led to believe that memory.high alone is an effective mechanism for limiting memory. The documentation should recommend the use of memory.max as the effective way to enforce memory limits - it triggers reclaim and results in OOM kills by itself. net/ipv4: ping_group_range: allow GID from 2147483648 to 4294967294
With this commit, all the GIDs ("0 4294967294") can be written to the
"net.ipv4.ping_group_range" sysctl.
Note that 4294967295 (0xffffffff) is an invalid GID (see gid_valid() in
include/linux/uidgid.h), and an attempt to register this number will cause
-EINVAL.
Prior to this commit, only up to GID 2147483647 could be covered.
Documentation/networking/ip-sysctl.rst had "0 4294967295" as an example
value, but this example was wrong and causing -EINVAL.

mm: page_table_check: Make it dependent on EXCLUSIVE_SYSTEM_RAM
Without EXCLUSIVE_SYSTEM_RAM, users are allowed to map arbitrary physical memory regions into the userspace via /dev/mem. At the same time, pages may change their properties (e.g., from anonymous pages to named pages) while they are still being mapped in the userspace, leading to "corruption" detected by the page table check. To avoid these false positives, this patch makes PAGE_TABLE_CHECK depends on EXCLUSIVE_SYSTEM_RAM. This dependency is understandable because PAGE_TABLE_CHECK is a hardening technique but /dev/mem without STRICT_DEVMEM (i.e., !EXCLUSIVE_SYSTEM_RAM) is itself a security problem. Even with EXCLUSIVE_SYSTEM_RAM, I/O pages may be still allowed to be mapped via /dev/mem. However, these pages are always considered as named pages, so they won't break the logic used in the page table check. Tracing fixes:

found that big endian machines could end up using the wrong bits.
- Split allocating mm and attaching it. This keeps the allocation separate
from the registration and avoids various races.
- Remove RCU locking around pin_user_pages_remote() as that can schedule. The
RCU protection is no longer needed with the above split of mm allocation and
attaching.
- Rename the "link" fields of the various structs to something more
meaningful.
- Add comments around user_event_mm struct usage and locking requirements.
Timerlat tracer:
- Fix missed wakeup of timerlat thread caused by the timerlat interrupt
triggering when tracing is off. The timer interrupt handler needs to always
wake up the timerlat thread regardless if tracing is enabled or not,
otherwise, it will never wake up.
Histograms:
- Fix regression of breaking the "stacktrace" modifier for variables. That
modifier cannot be used for values, but can be used for variables that are
passed from one histogram to the next. This was broken when adding the
restriction to values as the variable logic used the same code.
- Rename the special field "stacktrace" to "common_stacktrace". Special fields
(that are not actually part of the event, but can act just like event
fields, like 'comm' and 'timestamp') should be prefixed with 'common_' for
consistency. To keep backward compatibility, 'stacktrace' can still be used
(as with the special field 'cpu'), but can be overridden if the event has a
field called 'stacktrace'.
- Update the synthetic event selftests to use the new name (synthetic events
are created by histograms)

ARM: SoC fixes for 6.4
There have not been a lot of fixes for for the soc tree in 6.4, but these have been sitting here for too long. For the devicetree side, there is one minor warning fix for vexpress, the rest all all for the the NXP i.MX platforms: SoC specific bugfixes for the iMX8 clocks and its USB-3.0 gadget device, as well as board specific fixes for regulators and the phy on some of the i.MX boards. The microchip risc-v and arm32 maintainers now also add a shared maintainer file entry for the arm64 parts. net/handshake: Enable the SNI extension to work properly
Enable the upper layer protocol to specify the SNI peername. This
avoids the need for tlshd to use a DNS lookup, which can return a
