In smartnic env, the host (PF) driver might not be an e-switch
manager, hence the switchdev mode representors are running on
the embedded cpu (EC) and not at the host.
As such, we should avoid dealing with vport representors if
not being esw manager.
While here, make sure to disallow eswitch switchdev related
setups through devlink if we are not esw managers.

setting/unsetting the eswitch and as a result the overall setup
of sriov will fail.
Fix that by avoiding the operation if e-switch management is not
allowed for this driver instance. While here, move to use the

The check for cpu hit statistics was not returning immediate false for
any non vport rep netdev and hence we crashed (say on mlx5 probed VFs) if
user-space tool was calling into any possible netdev in the system.
Fix that by doing a proper check before dereferencing.

The commit 5d9f40b566 ("platform/x86: ideapad-laptop: Add
Y520-15IKBN to no_hw_rfkill") added the entry for Y20-15IKBN, and it
turned out that another variant, Y20-15IKBM, also requires the
no_hw_rfkill.
Trim the last letter from the string so that it matches to both
Y20-15IKBN and Y20-15IKBM models.

Second generation keyboard backlight (type 2) laptops can switch
on the keyboard LED on their own via hardware/firmware, but the
LED subsystem is unaware of such change since the LED interface
was only being created on first generation keyboard backlight
(type 1) laptops.
This patch creates the LED interface for second gen keyboards
and calls the *_hw_changed API whenever userspace changes the
state of the keyboard backlight LED.
While we are at it, remove an unneeded asignment to the acpi_dev
struct under *_kbd_bl_work, and also update the kbd_event_generated
variable in the main toshiba struct instead of the global struct.

On rare occasions a subdevice might need to prepare some hardware
resources before a remote processor is booted, and clean up some
state after it has been shut down.
One such example is the IP Accelerator found in various Qualcomm
platforms, which is accessed directly from both the modem remoteproc
and the application subsystem and requires an intricate lockstep
process when bringing the modem up and down.

The shpchp driver registers for all PCI bridge devices. Its probe method
should fail if either (1) the bridge doesn't have an SHPC or (2) the OS
isn't allowed to use it (the platform firmware may be operating the SHPC
itself).
Separate these two tests into:
- A new shpc_capable() that looks for the SHPC hardware and is applicable
on all systems (ACPI and non-ACPI), and
- A simplified acpi_get_hp_hw_control_from_firmware() that we call only
when we already know an SHPC exists and there may be ACPI methods to
either request permission to use it (_OSC) or transfer control to the
OS (OSHP).
acpi_get_hp_hw_control_from_firmware() is implemented when CONFIG_ACPI=y,
but does nothing if the current platform doesn't support ACPI.

Commit 51bc085d64 ("PCI: Improve host drivers compile test coverage")
added configuration options to allow PCI host controller drivers to be
compile tested on all architectures.
Some host controller drivers (eg PCIE_ALTERA) config entries select the
PCI_DOMAINS config option to enable PCI domains management in the kernel.
Now that host controller drivers can be compiled on all architectures, this
triggers build regressions on arches that do not implement the PCI_DOMAINS
required API (ie pci_domain_nr()):

Furthemore, some software configurations (ie Jailhouse) require a

having an explicit dependency on the ARM platform on which they run.
Make PCI_DOMAINS a visible configuration option on ARM so that software
configurations that need it can manually select it and move the PCI_DOMAINS
selection from PCI controllers configuration file to ARM sub-arch config
entries that currently require it, fixing the issue.

The endpoint library must be initialized before its users, which are in
drivers/pci/controllers. The endpoint initialization currently depends on
link order.
This corrects a kernel crash when loading the Cadence EP driver, since it
calls devm_pci_epc_create() and this is only valid once the endpoint
library has been initialized.

Number of specs is provided by user and in valid case can be equal to zero.
Such argument causes to call to kcalloc() with zero-length request and in
return the ZERO_SIZE_PTR is assigned. This pointer is different from NULL
and makes various if (..) checks to success.

The __get_txreq() function can return a pointer, ERR_PTR(-EBUSY), or NULL.
All of the relevant call sites look for IS_ERR, so the NULL return would
lead to a NULL pointer exception.
Do not use the ERR_PTR mechanism for this function.
Update all call sites to handle the return value correctly.
Clean up error paths to reflect return value.

There is a two-jiffy delay between the time that a CPU will self-report
an RCU CPU stall warning and the time that some other CPU will report a
warning on behalf of the first CPU. This has worked well in the past,
but on busy systems, it is possible for the two warnings to overlap,
which makes interpreting them extremely difficult.
This commit therefore uses a cmpxchg-based timing decision that
allows only one report in a given one-minute period (assuming default
stall-warning Kconfig parameters). This approach will of course fail
if you are seeing minute-long vCPU preemption, but in that case the
overlapping RCU CPU stall warnings are the least of your worries.

This is caused by using vanilla lockdep annotations on rcu_node::lock,
and that requires accessing ->lock of rcu_node directly. However we need

In an early version of the I2C patch that was posted to the list the
default I2C frequency (if none was specified) was 400 kHz. There was
debate on the list and we decided that it would be more consistent
with the rest of i2c if we defaulted to 100 kHz. ...but we never
updated the bindings. Let's fix this.
NOTE: since the i2c driver itself hasn't actually landed yet and the
SoC here is very new it seems terribly unlikely that anyone was
relying on the old 400 kHz number, so I'll assume this is an OK
"incompatible" device tree change.

Depending whether PSR1 or PSR2 was configured, we print a warning if the
corresponding control mmio indicated PSR was erroneously enabled. As
Chris pointed out, it makes more sense to check for both the mmio's
since we expect neither PSR1 nor PSR2 to be enabled when psr_activate() is
called.

Commit 5422b37c90 ("drm/i915/psr: Kill delays when activating psr
back.") switched from delayed work to the plain variant and while doing so
removed the check for work_busy() before scheduling a PSR activation.
This appears to cause consecutive executions of psr_activate() in this
scenario - after a worker picks up the PSR work item for execution and
before the work function can acquire the PSR mutex, a psr_flush() can
get hold of the mutex and schedule another PSR work. Without a psr_exit()
between the two psr_activate() calls, warning messages get printed.
Further, since we drop the mutex in the midst of psr_work() to wait for
PSR to idle, another work item can also get scheduled. Fix this by
returning if PSR was already active.

A device may have boundary restrictions where the number of sectors
between boundaries exceeds its max transfer size. In this case, we need
to cap the max size to the smaller of the two limits.

As Al Viro noted in commit 128394eff3 ("sg_write()/bsg_write() is not fit
to be called under KERNEL_DS"), sg improperly accesses userspace memory
outside the provided buffer, permitting kernel memory corruption via
splice(). But it doesn't just do it on ->write(), also on ->read().
As a band-aid, make sure that the ->read() and ->write() handlers can not
be called in weird contexts (kernel context or credentials different from
file opener), like for ib_safe_file_access().
If someone needs to use these interfaces from different security contexts,
a new interface should be written that goes through the ->ioctl() handler.
I've mostly copypasted ib_safe_file_access() over as sg_safe_file_access()
because I couldn't find a good common header - please tell me if you know a
better way.

At some point we introduced the function pointers
on PSR code to help with VLV/CHV separation logic
because it had a different HW implementation from PSR.
Since all converged to HSW PSR and we dropped the
VLV/CHV support, let's also kill the useless function
pointers and leave the code cleaner.

After an RTC+DDR cycle we lose sram context so emif pm functions present
in sram are lost. We can check if the first byte of the original
code in DDR contains the same first byte as the code in sram, and if
they do not match we know we have lost context and must recopy the
functions to the previous address to maintain PM functionality.

This patch adds dt bindings to enable netcp network driver on K2G
ICE boards. This consists of enabling bindings for NSS qmss, pktdma,
2u ethss, mdio, pinmux and netcp devices as well as DP83867 phy.
EVM hardware spec recommends to add 0.25 nsec delay in the tx direction
and 2.25 nsec delay in the rx direction for internal delay in the clock
path to be on the safer side.
The board straps RX_DV/RX_CTRL pin of on board DP83867 phy in mode 1.
The phy data manual disallows this. Add ti,dp83867-rxctrl-strap-quirk
in the phy node to allow software to enable the workaround suggested for
this incorrect strap setting. This ensures proper operation of this PHY.
