regulator: wm8350: fix missing increment of loop index i
It seems that the loop index i is not being incremented and hence
potentially the while loop could spin forever. Fortunately with the
data being used this does not appear to happen at the moment.

3e14c6abbf kobject: don't use WARN for registration failures
This WARNING proved to be noisy. The function still returns an error
and callers should handle it. That's how most of kernel code works.
Downgrade the WARNING to pr_err() and leave WARNINGs for kernel bugs.

5d1332a8ea usb: gadget: udc: core: Document the relation between usb_ep_queue() and completion callback
Improve the kerneldoc for usb_ep_queue() to note explicitly that the
request's completion routine will be called if and only if the return
value is 0.  The corresponding fact about usb_submit_urb() for the
host-side API has long been documented, and this has always been the
intention for the gadget API.  But until now, documentation seems to
have been lacking.

e538409257 test_firmware: fix setting old custom fw path back on exit, second try
Commit 65c7923057 tried to clear the custom firmware path on exit by
writing a single space to the firmware_class.path parameter.  This
doesn't work because nothing strips this space from the value stored
and fw_get_filesystem_firmware() only ignores zero-length paths.

Instead, write a null byte.

ce3d1536ac uio_hv_generic: fix subchannel ring mmap
The fault method of handling subchannel ring, did not work correctly
(it only worked for the first page).

Since ring buffer is physically contiguous, using the vm helper
function is simpler and handles more cases.

9ab877a6cc uio_hv_generic: make ring buffer attribute for primary channel

6e3d66b80f uio_hv_generic: set size of ring buffer attribute
The original code had ring size as a module parameter, but
then it was made a fixed value.  The code to set the size of
the ring buffer binary file was lost in the transistion.
The size is needed by user mode driver to know the size of
the ring buffer.

c1c734cb1f serial: core: Make sure compiler barfs for 16-byte earlycon names
As part of bringup I ended up wanting to call an earlycon driver by a
name that was exactly 16-bytes big, specifically "qcom_geni_serial".

Unfortunately, when I tried this I found that things compiled just
fine.  They just didn't work.

Specifically the compiler felt perfectly justified in initting the
".name" field of "struct earlycon_id" with the full 16-bytes and just
skipping the '\0'.  Needless to say, that behavior didn't seem ideal,
but I guess someone must have allowed it for a reason.

One way to fix this is to shorten the name field to 15 bytes and then
add an extra byte after that nobody touches.  This should always be
initted to 0 and we're golden.

There are, of course, other ways to fix this too.  We could audit all
the users of the "name" field and make them stop at both null
termination or at 16 bytes.  We could also just make the name field
much bigger so that we're not likely to run into this.  ...but both
seem like we'll just hit the bug again.

361f2ddbb0 ANDROID: binder: re-order some conditions
It doesn't make any difference to runtime but I've switched these two
checks to make my static checker happy.

The problem is that "buffer->data_size" is user controlled and if it's
less than "sizeo(*hdr)" then that means "offset" can be more than
"buffer->data_size".  It's just cleaner to check it in the other order.

This can't happen with normal nodes (because you can't get a ref
to a node you own), but it could happen with the context manager;
to make the behavior consistent with regular nodes, reject

aaa6452763 bpf: fix virtio-net's length calc for XDP_PASS
In commit 6870de435b ("bpf: make virtio compatible w/
bpf_xdp_adjust_tail") i didn't account for vi->hdr_len during new
packet's length calculation after bpf_prog_run in receive_mergeable.
because of this all packets, if they were passed to the kernel,
were truncated by 12 bytes.

ac315c621f drm/i915: Enable display WA#1183 from its correct spot
The DMC FW specific part of display WA#1183 is supposed to be enabled
whenever enabling DC5 or DC6, so move it to the DC6 enable function
from the DC6 disable function.

I noticed this after Daniel's patch to remove the unused
skl_disable_dc6() function.

904e1b1ff4 drm/i915/audio: set minimum CD clock to twice the BCLK
In GLK when the device boots with only 1366x768 panel without audio, HDA
codec doesn't come up. In this case, the CDCLK is less than twice the
BCLK. Even though audio isn't being enabled, having a too low CDCLK
leads to audio probe failing altogether.

Require CDCLK to be at least twice the BLCK regardless of audio. This is
a minimal fix to improve things. Unfortunately, this a) leads to too
high CDCLK being used when audio is not used, and b) is still not enough
to fix audio probe when no outputs are connected at probe time.

The proper fix would be to increase CDCLK dynamically from the audio
component hooks.

5db4da3f36 ARM: dts: imx6: RDU2: add eGalax touchscreen
This touchscreen is present instead of the RMI4 touch on some SKUs of
the RDU2. Keep it disabled by default, the bootloader will enable it

e6e35596fd ARM: dts: imx6: RDU2+: add assigned clocks for GPU 3D
This downclocks the shader domain from 720MHz to 594MHz, which gets rid
of brown-outs due to excessive current draw on the PMIC switchers. The
board has an unchanged power tree from the Quad design, which isn't able
to cope with higher current needs of the QuadPlus GPU at full speed.

4b4e048405 ARM: dts: imx6: RDU2: bump SoC/PU operating points by 25mV
This bumps the SoC/PU domain operating points by 25mV, giving a total
of 75mV margin to the minimum required voltages. This gets rid of
brown-outs seen due to voltage drop-out on the board.

903f9db10f tty: Don't call panic() at tty_ldisc_init()
syzbot is reporting kernel panic [1] triggered by memory allocation failure
at tty_ldisc_get() from tty_ldisc_init(). But since both tty_ldisc_get()
and caller of tty_ldisc_init() can cleanly handle errors, tty_ldisc_init()
does not need to call panic() when tty_ldisc_get() failed.

598c2d41ff tty: Avoid possible error pointer dereference at tty_ldisc_restore().
syzbot is reporting crashes [1] triggered by memory allocation failure at
tty_ldisc_get() from tty_ldisc_restore(). While syzbot stops at WARN_ON()
due to panic_on_warn == true, panic_on_warn == false will after all trigger
an OOPS by dereferencing old->ops->num if IS_ERR(old) == true.

We can simplify tty_ldisc_restore() as three calls (old->ops->num, N_TTY,
N_NULL) to tty_ldisc_failto() in addition to avoiding possible error
pointer dereference.

If someone reports kernel panic triggered by forcing all memory allocations
for tty_ldisc_restore() to fail, we can consider adding __GFP_NOFAIL for
tty_ldisc_restore() case.

f54e714cfc soc: imx: gpc: Do not pass static memory as platform data
Platform device core assumes the ownership of dev.platform_data as
well as that it is dynamically allocated and it will try to kfree it
as a part of platform_device_release(). Change the code to use
platform_device_add_data() instead of a pointer to a static memory to
avoid causing a BUG() when calling platform_device_put().

The problem can be reproduced by artificially enabling the error path
of platform_device_add() call (around line 452).

050f810e23 soc: imx: gpcv2: Do not pass static memory as platform data
Platform device core assumes the ownership of dev.platform_data as
well as that it is dynamically allocated and it will try to kfree it
as a part of platform_device_release(). Change the code to use
platform_device_add_data() n instead of a pointer to a static memory
to avoid causing a BUG() when calling platform_device_put().

The problem can be reproduced by artificially enabling the error path
of platform_device_add() call (around line 357).

Note that this change also allows us to constify imx7_pgc_domains,
since we no longer need to be able to modify it.

13eac05b05 tty: ipwireless: Replace GFP_ATOMIC with GFP_KERNEL in ipwireless_network_create
ipwireless_network_create() is never called in atomic context.

The call chain ending up at ipwireless_network_create() is:
[1] ipwireless_network_create() <- config_ipwireless() <-
	ipwireless_attach()
ipwireless_attach() is only set as ".probe" in struct pcmcia_driver.

Despite never getting called from atomic context,
ipwireless_network_create() calls kzalloc() with GFP_ATOMIC,
which does not sleep for allocation.
GFP_ATOMIC is not necessary and can be replaced with GFP_KERNEL,
which can sleep and improve the possibility of sucessful allocation.

This is found by a static analysis tool named DCNS written by myself.
And I also manually check it.

ece97f3a5f microblaze: Fix simpleImage format generation
simpleImage generation was broken for some time. This patch is fixing
steps how simpleImage.*.ub file is generated. Steps are objdump of
vmlinux and create .ub.
Also make sure that there is striped elf version with .strip suffix.

593c9c7c90 staging: fsl-dpaa2/ethsw: Fix tag control information value overwrite
The tag control information (TCI) part of the VLAN header contains several
fields, including PCP (priority code point) and PVID (port VLAN id).

Current implementation uses function ethsw_port_set_tci() to set the PVID
value and mistakenly overwrites the rest of the TCI fields with 0,
including PCP which by default has a value of 7.

Fix this by adding support to retrieve TCI set in hardware. Read existing
value and only updated the PVID fields, leaving others unchanged.

3ba03cffc5 staging: emxx_udc: Change platform dependency to ARCH_RENESAS
Emma Mobile is a Renesas ARM SoC.  Since commit 9b5ba0df4e ("ARM:
shmobile: Introduce ARCH_RENESAS") is ARCH_RENESAS a more appropriate
platform dependency than the legacy ARCH_SHMOBILE, hence use the
former.

This will allow to drop ARCH_SHMOBILE on ARM in the near future.

The platform_get_irq can return error. Assigning the return value to an
unsigned variable and checking it for negative value will always return
false.

Use an intermediate signed variable to get IRQ information, check for any
error and then assign it to 'irq' variable inside uart_port structure.

5909c0bf9c serial/aspeed-vuart: Implement quick throttle mechanism
Although we populate the ->throttle and ->unthrottle UART operations,
these may not be called until the ldisc has had a chance to schedule and
check buffer space. This means that we may overflow the flip buffers
without ever hitting the ldisc's throttle threshold.

This change implements an interrupt-based throttle, where we check for
space in the flip buffers before reading characters from the UART's
FIFO. If there's no space available, we disable the RX interrupt and
schedule a timer to check for space later.

For this, we need an unlocked version of the set_throttle function to be
able to change throttle state from the irq_handler, which already holds
port->lock.

This prevents a case where we drop characters under heavy RX load.

989983ea84 serial/aspeed-vuart: Implement rx throttling
The aspeed VUART runs at LPC bus frequency, rather than being restricted
to a typical UART baud rate. This means that the VUART can receive a lot
of data, which can overrun tty flip buffers, and/or cause a large amount
of interrupt traffic.

This change implements the uart_port->throttle & unthrottle callbacks,
implemented by disabling the receiver line status & received data
available IRQs.

ebbaf9ab9e serial/8250: export serial8250_read_char
Currently, we export serial8250_rx_chars, which does a whole bunch of
reads from the 8250 data register, without any form of flow control
between reads.

An upcoming change to the aspeed vuart driver implements more
fine-grained flow control in the interrupt handler, requiring
character-at-a-time control over the rx path.

This change exports serial8250_read_char to allow this.

c5f78b1fe4 serial: Introduce UPSTAT_SYNC_FIFO for synchronised FIFOs
This change adds a flag to indicate that a UART is has an external means
of synchronising its FIFO, without needing CTSRTS or XON/XOFF.

This allows us to use the throttle/unthrottle callbacks, without having
to claim other methods of flow control.
