drm: drm_fourcc: add NV20 and NV30 format
DRM_FORMAT_NV20 and DRM_FORMAT_NV30 is a 2 plane format suitable for linear layouts, this two format is similar to NV15 has no padding between component, but NV15 is 4:2:0 sub-sampling, NV20 is 4:2:2 sub-sampling and NV30 is no-sampling. The '20' and '30' suffix refers to the optimum effective bits per pixel which is achieved. Signed-off-by: Sandy Huang <hjc@rock-chips.com> Change-Id: I84da7e03125e675f274c6307128b4b7b307767cc |

FROMLIST: usb: gadget: uvc: configfs: add framebased format support
As we know, The framebased format can be used to support a lot of formats other than YUV and MJPEG, for example: H264 or H265. And Nowadays, the H264 and H265 is used more and more compared to the MJPEG, so there is a need to support such usecase, although the new UVC 1.5 and the UVC1.1 extensions already support H264, but they are much more expensive and most of the time, what we need is just a channel to stream the video frames. In this patch, we implement the framebased format and set it to H264 by default, and the users could change the video format as they need through the guid configfs attribute node. ANDROID: fuse/passthrough: API V2 with __u32 open argument
The initial FUSE passthrough interface has the issue of introducing an ioctl which receives as a parameter a data structure containing a pointer. What happens is that, depending on the architecture, the size of this struct might change, and especially for 32-bit userspace running on 64-bit kernel, the size mismatch results into different a single ioctl the behavior of which depends on the data that is passed (e.g., with an enum). This is just a poor ioctl design as mentioned by Arnd Bergmann [1]. Introduce the new FUSE_PASSTHROUGH_OPEN ioctl which only gets the fd of the lower file system, which is a fixed-size __u32, dropping the confusing fuse_passthrough_out data structure. BACKPORT: sched/uclamp: Allow to reset a task uclamp constraint value
In case the user wants to stop controlling a uclamp constraint value
for a task, use the magic value -1 in sched_util_{min,max} with the
appropriate sched_flags (SCHED_FLAG_UTIL_CLAMP_{MIN,MAX}) to indicate
the reset.
The advantage over the 'additional flag' approach (i.e. introducing
SCHED_FLAG_UTIL_CLAMP_RESET) is that no additional flag has to be
exported via uapi. This avoids the need to document how this new flag
has be used in conjunction with the existing uclamp related flags.
The following subtle issue is fixed as well. When a uclamp constraint
value is set on a !user_defined uclamp_se it is currently first reset
and then set.
Fix this by AND'ing !user_defined with !SCHED_FLAG_UTIL_CLAMP which
stands for the 'sched class change' case.
The related condition 'if (uc_se->user_defined)' moved from
__setscheduler_uclamp() into uclamp_reset().

UPSTREAM: binder: tell userspace to dump current backtrace when detected oneway spamming
When async binder buffer got exhausted, some normal oneway transactions
will also be discarded and may cause system or application failures. By
that time, the binder debug information we dump may not be relevant to
the root cause. And this issue is difficult to debug if without the
backtrace of the thread sending spam.
This change will send BR_ONEWAY_SPAM_SUSPECT to userspace when oneway
spamming is detected, request to dump current backtrace. Oneway spamming
will be reported only once when exceeding the threshold (target process
dips below 80% of its oneway space, and current process is responsible
for either more than 50 transactions, or more than 50% of the oneway
space). And the detection will restart when the async buffer has
returned to a healthy state.

BACKPORT: FROMGIT: userfaultfd: support minor fault handling for shmem
Patch series "userfaultfd: support minor fault handling for shmem", v2. Overview ======== See my original series [1] for a detailed overview of minor fault handling in general. The feature in this series works exactly like the hugetblfs version (from userspace's perspective). I'm sending this as a separate series because: - The original minor fault handling series has a full set of R-Bs, and seems close to being merged. So, it seems reasonable to start looking at this next step, which extends the basic functionality. - shmem is different enough that this series may require some additional work before it's ready, and I don't want to delay the original series unnecessarily by bundling them together. Use Case ======== In some cases it is useful to have VM memory backed by tmpfs instead of hugetlbfs. So, this feature will be used to support the same VM live migration use case described in my original series. Additionally, Android folks (Lokesh Gidra <lokeshgidra@google.com>) hope to optimize the Android Runtime garbage collector using this feature: "The plan is to use userfaultfd for concurrently compacting the heap. With this feature, the heap can be shared-mapped at another location where the GC-thread(s) could continue the compaction operation without the need to invoke userfault ioctl(UFFDIO_COPY) each time. OTOH, if and when Java threads get faults on the heap, UFFDIO_CONTINUE can be used to resume execution. Furthermore, this feature enables updating references in the 'non-moving' portion of the heap efficiently. Without this feature, uneccessary page copying (ioctl(UFFDIO_COPY)) would be required." [1] https://lore.kernel.org/linux-fsdevel/20210301222728.176417-1-axelrasmussen@google.com/T/#t This patch (of 5): Modify the userfaultfd register API to allow registering shmem VMAs in minor mode. Modify the shmem mcopy implementation to support UFFDIO_CONTINUE in order to resolve such faults. Combine the shmem mcopy handler functions into a single shmem_mcopy_atomic_pte, which takes a mode parameter. This matches how the hugetlbfs implementation is structured, and lets us remove a good chunk of boilerplate. BACKPORT: FROMGIT: userfaultfd: add UFFDIO_CONTINUE ioctl
This ioctl is how userspace ought to resolve "minor" userfaults. The
idea is, userspace is notified that a minor fault has occurred. It might
change the contents of the page using its second non-UFFD mapping, or
not. Then, it calls UFFDIO_CONTINUE to tell the kernel "I have ensured
the page contents are correct, carry on setting up the mapping".
Note that it doesn't make much sense to use UFFDIO_{COPY,ZEROPAGE} for
MINOR registered VMAs. ZEROPAGE maps the VMA to the zero page; but in
the minor fault case, we already have some pre-existing underlying page.
Likewise, UFFDIO_COPY isn't useful if we have a second non-UFFD mapping.
We'd just use memcpy() or similar instead.
It turns out hugetlb_mcopy_atomic_pte() already does very close to what
we want, if an existing page is provided via `struct page **pagep`. We
already special-case the behavior a bit for the UFFDIO_ZEROPAGE case, so
just extend that design: add an enum for the three modes of operation,
and make the small adjustments needed for the MCOPY_ATOMIC_CONTINUE
case. (Basically, look up the existing page, and avoid adding the
existing page to the page cache or calling set_page_huge_active() on
it.)

BACKPORT: FROMGIT: userfaultfd: add minor fault registration mode
Patch series "userfaultfd: add minor fault handling", v9. Overview ======== This series adds a new userfaultfd feature, UFFD_FEATURE_MINOR_HUGETLBFS. When enabled (via the UFFDIO_API ioctl), this feature means that any hugetlbfs VMAs registered with UFFDIO_REGISTER_MODE_MISSING will *also* get events for "minor" faults. By "minor" fault, I mean the following situation: Let there exist two mappings (i.e., VMAs) to the same page(s) (shared memory). One of the mappings is registered with userfaultfd (in minor mode), and the other is not. Via the non-UFFD mapping, the underlying pages have already been allocated & filled with some contents. The UFFD mapping has not yet been faulted in; when it is touched for the first time, this results in what I'm calling a "minor" fault. As a concrete example, when working with hugetlbfs, we have huge_pte_none(), but find_lock_page() finds an existing page. We also add a new ioctl to resolve such faults: UFFDIO_CONTINUE. The idea is, userspace resolves the fault by either a) doing nothing if the contents are already correct, or b) updating the underlying contents using the second, non-UFFD mapping (via memcpy/memset or similar, or something fancier like RDMA, or etc...). In either case, userspace issues UFFDIO_CONTINUE to tell the kernel "I have ensured the page contents are correct, carry on setting up the mapping". Use Case ======== Consider the use case of VM live migration (e.g. under QEMU/KVM): 1. While a VM is still running, we copy the contents of its memory to a target machine. The pages are populated on the target by writing to the non-UFFD mapping, using the setup described above. The VM is still running (and therefore its memory is likely changing), so this may be repeated several times, until we decide the target is "up to date enough". 2. We pause the VM on the source, and start executing on the target machine. During this gap, the VM's user(s) will *see* a pause, so it is desirable to minimize this window. 3. Between the last time any page was copied from the source to the target, and when the VM was paused, the contents of that page may have changed - and therefore the copy we have on the target machine is out of date. Although we can keep track of which pages are out of date, for VMs with large amounts of memory, it is "slow" to transfer this information to the target machine. We want to resume execution before such a transfer would complete. 4. So, the guest begins executing on the target machine. The first time it touches its memory (via the UFFD-registered mapping), userspace wants to intercept this fault. Userspace checks whether or not the page is up to date, and if not, copies the updated page from the source machine, via the non-UFFD mapping. Finally, whether a copy was performed or not, userspace issues a UFFDIO_CONTINUE ioctl to tell the kernel "I have ensured the page contents are correct, carry on setting up the mapping". We don't have to do all of the final updates on-demand. The userfaultfd manager can, in the background, also copy over updated pages once it receives the map of which pages are up-to-date or not. Interaction with Existing APIs ============================== Because this is a feature, a registered VMA could potentially receive both missing and minor faults. I spent some time thinking through how the existing API interacts with the new feature: UFFDIO_CONTINUE cannot be used to resolve non-minor faults, as it does not allocate a new page. If UFFDIO_CONTINUE is used on a non-minor fault: - For non-shared memory or shmem, -EINVAL is returned. - For hugetlb, -EFAULT is returned. UFFDIO_COPY and UFFDIO_ZEROPAGE cannot be used to resolve minor faults. Without modifications, the existing codepath assumes a new page needs to be allocated. This is okay, since userspace must have a second non-UFFD-registered mapping anyway, thus there isn't much reason to want to use these in any case (just memcpy or memset or similar). - If UFFDIO_COPY is used on a minor fault, -EEXIST is returned. - If UFFDIO_ZEROPAGE is used on a minor fault, -EEXIST is returned (or -EINVAL in the case of hugetlb, as UFFDIO_ZEROPAGE is unsupported in any case). - UFFDIO_WRITEPROTECT simply doesn't work with shared memory, and returns -ENOENT in that case (regardless of the kind of fault). Future Work =========== This series only supports hugetlbfs. I have a second series in flight to support shmem as well, extending the functionality. This series is more mature than the shmem support at this point, and the functionality works fully on hugetlbfs, so this series can be merged first and then shmem support will follow. This patch (of 6): This feature allows userspace to intercept "minor" faults. By "minor" faults, I mean the following situation: Let there exist two mappings (i.e., VMAs) to the same page(s). This commit adds the new registration mode, and sets the relevant flag on the VMAs being registered. In the hugetlb fault path, if we find that we have huge_pte_none(), but find_lock_page() does indeed find an existing page, then we have a "minor" fault, and if the VMA has the userfaultfd registration flag, we call into userfaultfd to handle it. This is implemented as a new registration mode, instead of an API feature. This is because the alternative implementation has significant drawbacks [1]. However, doing it this was requires we allocate a VM_* flag for the new registration mode. On 32-bit systems, there are no unused bits, so this feature is only supported on architectures with CONFIG_ARCH_USES_HIGH_VMA_FLAGS. When attempting to register a VMA in MINOR mode on 32-bit architectures, we return -EINVAL. ANDROID: roll back xt_IDLETIMER to 5.10.21 upstream/vanilla version
Conflict resolution was done incorrectly and needs to be redone. (the registration passes in two different revision one blocks, instead of one rev zero, and one rev one, it also erroneously changes upstream uapi) Generated via: git cat-file -p remotes/linux-stable/v5.10.21:net/netfilter/xt_IDLETIMER.c > net/netfilter/xt_IDLETIMER.c git cat-file -p remotes/linux-stable/v5.10.21:include/uapi/linux/netfilter/xt_IDLETIMER.h > include/uapi/linux/netfilter/xt_IDLETIMER.h Test: builds, and kernel net tests passes Bug: 183485987 Signed-off-by: Maciej Żenczykowski <maze@google.com> Change-Id: I33823ddbd139dc7a435388d22ae76966d2bdd2a7 |

FROMGIT: binder: BINDER_GET_FROZEN_INFO ioctl
User space needs to know if binder transactions occurred to frozen processes. Introduce a new BINDER_GET_FROZEN ioctl and keep track of transactions occurring to frozen proceses. BACKPORT: FROMGIT: binder: BINDER_FREEZE ioctl
Frozen tasks can't process binder transactions, so a way is required to inform transmitting ends of communication failures due to the frozen state of their receiving counterparts. Additionally, races are possible between transitions to frozen state and binder transactions enqueued to a specific process. Implement BINDER_FREEZE ioctl for user space to inform the binder driver about the intention to freeze or unfreeze a process. When the ioctl is called, block the caller until any pending binder transactions toward the target process are flushed. Return an error to transactions to processes marked as frozen.
