c51725f8d2 of/address: Fix of_node memory leak in of_dma_is_coherent
[ Upstream commit a5bea04fcc ]

Commit dabf6b36b8 ("of: Add OF_DMA_DEFAULT_COHERENT & select it on
powerpc") added a check to of_dma_is_coherent which returns early
if OF_DMA_DEFAULT_COHERENT is enabled. This results in the of_node_put()
being skipped causing a memory leak. Moved the of_node_get() below this
check so we now we only get the node if OF_DMA_DEFAULT_COHERENT is not
enabled.

f821ce6b3c UPSTREAM: of: property: Fix create device links for all child-supplier dependencies
Upon adding a new device from a DT node, we scan its properties and its
children's properties in order to create a consumer/supplier
relationship between the device and the property provider.

That said, it's possible for some of the node's children to be disabled,
which will create links that'll never be fulfilled.

To get around this, use the for_each_available_child_of_node() function
instead of for_each_available_node() when iterating over the node's
children.

db9a0291da UPSTREAM: of: property: Do not link to disabled devices
When creating a consumer/supplier relationship between two devices,
make sure the supplier node is actually active. Otherwise this will
create a link relationship that will never be fulfilled. This, in the
worst case scenario, will hang the system during boot.

Note that, in practice, the fact that a device-tree represented
consumer/supplier relationship isn't fulfilled will not prevent devices
from successfully probing.

641b04730a UPSTREAM: of/platform: Unconditionally pause/resume sync state during kernel init
Commit 5e6669387e ("of/platform: Pause/resume sync state during init
and of_platform_populate()") paused/resumed sync state during init only
if Linux had parsed and populated a devicetree.

However, the check for that (of_have_populated_dt()) can change after
of_platform_default_populate_init() executes. One example of this is
when devicetree unittests are enabled. This causes an unmatched
pause/resume of sync state. To avoid this, just unconditionally
pause/resume sync state during init.

b8f922aa95 of: Fix reserved-memory overlap detection
[ Upstream commit ca05f33316 ]

The reserved-memory overlap detection code fails to detect overlaps if
either of the regions starts at address 0x0. The code explicitly checks
for and ignores such regions, apparently in order to ignore dynamically
allocated regions which have an address of 0x0 at this point. These
dynamically allocated regions also have a size of 0x0 at this point, so
fix this by removing the check and sorting the dynamically allocated
regions ahead of any static regions at address 0x0.

For example, there are two overlaps in this case but they are not
currently reported:

	foo@0 {
	        reg = <0x0 0x2000>;
	};

	bar@0 {
	        reg = <0x0 0x1000>;
	};

	baz@1000 {
	        reg = <0x1000 0x1000>;
	};

	quux {
	        size = <0x1000>;
	};

but they are after this patch:

 OF: reserved mem: OVERLAP DETECTED!
 bar@0 (0x00000000--0x00001000) overlaps with foo@0 (0x00000000--0x00002000)
 OF: reserved mem: OVERLAP DETECTED!
 foo@0 (0x00000000--0x00002000) overlaps with baz@1000 (0x00001000--0x00002000)

Florian Fainelli
e4c6078f09 of: of_mdio: Correct loop scanning logic
[ Upstream commit 5a8d7f126c ]

Commit 209c65b61d ("drivers/of/of_mdio.c:fix of_mdiobus_register()")
introduced a break of the loop on the premise that a successful
registration should exit the loop. The premise is correct but not to
code, because rc && rc != -ENODEV is just a special error condition,
that means we would exit the loop even with rc == -ENODEV which is
absolutely not correct since this is the error code to indicate to the
MDIO bus layer that scanning should continue.

Fix this by explicitly checking for rc = 0 as the only valid condition
to break out of the loop.

219ecf84fb of: Fix a refcounting bug in __of_attach_node_sysfs()
[ Upstream commit 8a325dd06f ]

The problem in this code is that if kobject_add() fails, then it should
call of_node_put(np) to drop the reference count. I've actually moved
the of_node_get(np) later in the function to avoid needing to do clean
up.

Commit 428826f535 ("fdt: add support for rng-seed") moves of_fdt_crc32

c75b271856 FROMGIT: of: platform: Batch fwnode parsing when adding all top level devices
The fw_devlink_pause() and fw_devlink_resume() APIs allow batching the
parsing of the device tree nodes when a lot of devices are added. This
will significantly cut down parsing time (as much a 1 second on some
systems). So, use them when adding devices for all the top level device
tree nodes in a system.

When registers a phy_device successful, should terminate the loop
or the phy_device would be registered in other addr. If there are

a323430753 ANDROID: GKI: of: irq: add helper to remap interrupts to another irqdomain
Sometimes interrupts are routed from an interrupt controller to another
in no specific order. Having these in the drives makes it difficult to
maintain when the same drivers supports multiple variants with different
mapping. Also, specifying them in DT makes little sense with a
bunch of numbers like -
	<0, 13>, <5, 32>,
It makes more sense when we can have the parent handle along with
interrupt specifiers for the incoming interrupt as well as that of the
outgoing interrupt like -
	<22 0 &intc 36 0>,
	<24 0 &intc 37 0>,
	<26 0 &intc 38 0>,
And the interrupt specifiers can be interpreted using these properties -
	irqdomain-map-mask = <0xff 0>;
	irqdomain-map-pass-thru = <0 0xff>;

Let's add a helper function to parse this from DT.

cfbb70381f BACKPORT: fdt: add support for rng-seed
Introducing a chosen node, rng-seed, which is an entropy that can be
passed to kernel called very early to increase initial device
randomness. Bootloader should provide this entropy and the value is
read from /chosen/rng-seed in DT.

Obtain of_fdt_crc32 for CRC check after early_init_dt_scan_nodes(),
since early_init_dt_scan_chosen() would modify fdt to erase rng-seed.

Add a new interface add_bootloader_randomness() for rng-seed use case.
Depends on whether the seed is trustworthy, rng seed would be passed to
add_hwgenerator_randomness(). Otherwise it would be passed to
add_device_randomness(). Decision is controlled by kernel config
RANDOM_TRUST_BOOTLOADER.

Michael Ellerman
8a7c008c64 of: Add OF_DMA_DEFAULT_COHERENT & select it on powerpc
commit dabf6b36b8 upstream.

There's an OF helper called of_dma_is_coherent(), which checks if a
device has a "dma-coherent" property to see if the device is coherent
for DMA.

But on some platforms devices are coherent by default, and on some
platforms it's not possible to update existing device trees to add the
"dma-coherent" property.

So add a Kconfig symbol to allow arch code to tell
of_dma_is_coherent() that devices are coherent by default, regardless
of the presence of the property.

Select that symbol on powerpc when NOT_COHERENT_CACHE is not set, ie.
when the system has a coherent cache.

Fixes: 92ea637ede ("of: introduce of_dma_is_coherent() helper")

aa08e30cb7 of: mdio: Fix a signedness bug in of_phy_get_and_connect()
[ Upstream commit d7eb651212 ]

The "iface" variable is an enum and in this context GCC treats it as
an unsigned int so the error handling is never triggered.

Erhard Furtner
b65a9b44f7 of: unittest: fix memory leak in attach_node_and_children
[ Upstream commit 2aacace6db ]

In attach_node_and_children memory is allocated for full_name via
kasprintf. If the condition of the 1st if is not met the function
returns early without freeing the memory. Add a kfree() to fix that.

This has been detected with kmemleak:

It looks like the leak was introduced by this commit:
