e8d9fab39d KEYS: trusted: dcp: fix improper sg use with CONFIG_VMAP_STACK=y
With vmalloc stack addresses enabled (CONFIG_VMAP_STACK=y) DCP trusted
keys can crash during en- and decryption of the blob encryption key via
the DCP crypto driver. This is caused by improperly using sg_init_one()
with vmalloc'd stack buffers (plain_key_blob).

Fix this by always using kmalloc() for buffers we give to the DCP crypto
driver.

04de7589e0 KEYS: trusted: dcp: fix NULL dereference in AEAD crypto operation
When sealing or unsealing a key blob we currently do not wait for
the AEAD cipher operation to finish and simply return after submitting
the request. If there is some load on the system we can exit before
the cipher operation is done and the buffer we read from/write to
is already removed from the stack. This will e.g. result in NULL
pointer dereference errors in the DCP driver during blob creation.

Fix this by waiting for the AEAD cipher operation to finish before
resuming the seal and unseal calls.

This issue was also reported by syzbot.

It can be reproduced by following these steps(more details [1]):
1. Obtain more than 32 inputs that have similar hashes, which ends with the
   pattern '0xxxxxxxe6'.
2. Reboot and add the keys obtained in step 1.

The reproducer demonstrates how this issue happened:
1. In the search_nested_keyrings function, when it iterates through the
   slots in a node(below tag ascend_to_node), if the slot pointer is meta
   and node->back_pointer != NULL(it means a root), it will proceed to
   descend_to_node. However, there is an exception. If node is the root,
   and one of the slots points to a shortcut, it will be treated as a
   keyring.
2. Whether the ptr is keyring decided by keyring_ptr_is_keyring function.
   However, KEYRING_PTR_SUBTYPE is 0x2UL, the same as
   ASSOC_ARRAY_PTR_SUBTYPE_MASK.
3. When 32 keys with the similar hashes are added to the tree, the ROOT
   has keys with hashes that are not similar (e.g. slot 0) and it splits
   NODE A without using a shortcut. When NODE A is filled with keys that
   all hashes are xxe6, the keys are similar, NODE A will split with a
   shortcut. Finally, it forms the tree as shown below, where slot 6 points
   to a shortcut.

                      NODE A
              +------>+---+
      ROOT    |       | 0 | xxe6
      +---+   |       +---+
 xxxx | 0 | shortcut  :   : xxe6
      +---+   |       +---+
 xxe6 :   :   |       |   | xxe6
      +---+   |       +---+
      | 6 |---+       :   : xxe6
      +---+           +---+
 xxe6 :   :           | f | xxe6
      +---+           +---+
 xxe6 | f |
      +---+

4. As mentioned above, If a slot(slot 6) of the root points to a shortcut,
   it may be mistakenly transferred to a key*, leading to a read
   out-of-bounds read.

To fix this issue, one should jump to descend_to_node if the ptr is a
shortcut, regardless of whether the node is root or not.

0e28bf61a5 KEYS: trusted: dcp: fix leak of blob encryption key
Trusted keys unseal the key blob on load, but keep the sealed payload in
the blob field so that every subsequent read (export) will simply
convert this field to hex and send it to userspace.

With DCP-based trusted keys, we decrypt the blob encryption key (BEK)
in the Kernel due hardware limitations and then decrypt the blob payload.
BEK decryption is done in-place which means that the trusted key blob
field is modified and it consequently holds the BEK in plain text.
Every subsequent read of that key thus send the plain text BEK instead
of the encrypted BEK to userspace.

This issue only occurs when importing a trusted DCP-based key and
then exporting it again. This should rarely happen as the common use cases
are to either create a new trusted key and export it, or import a key
blob and then just use it without exporting it again.

Fix this by performing BEK decryption and encryption in a dedicated
buffer. Further always wipe the plain text BEK buffer to prevent leaking
the key via uninitialized memory.

050bf3c793 KEYS: trusted: Do not use WARN when encode fails
When asn1_encode_sequence() fails, WARN is not the correct solution.

1. asn1_encode_sequence() is not an internal function (located
   in lib/asn1_encode.c).
2. Location is known, which makes the stack trace useless.
3. Results a crash if panic_on_warn is set.

It is also noteworthy that the use of WARN is undocumented, and it
should be avoided unless there is a carefully considered rationale to
use it.

Replace WARN with pr_err, and print the return value instead, which is
only useful piece of information.

to be sealed and the data coming out as it is unsealed. Add parameter

leaked even if the bus is snooped.

As part of doing this conversion it was discovered that policy
sessions can't work with HMAC protected authority because of missing
pieces (the tpm Nonce). I've added code to work the same way as
before, which will result in potential authority exposure (while still
adding security for the command and the returned blob), and a fixme to
redo the API to get rid of this security hole.

TPM2B buffers, or sized buffers, have a two byte header, which contains the

Unbound the length of a tpm_buf from the value stored to the TPM command
header. A separate encoding and decoding step so that different buffer

2e8a0f40a3 KEYS: trusted: Introduce NXP DCP-backed trusted keys
DCP (Data Co-Processor) is the little brother of NXP's CAAM IP.
Beside of accelerated crypto operations, it also offers support for
hardware-bound keys. Using this feature it is possible to implement a blob
mechanism similar to what CAAM offers. Unlike on CAAM, constructing and
parsing the blob has to happen in software (i.e. the kernel).

The software-based blob format used by DCP trusted keys encrypts
the payload using AES-128-GCM with a freshly generated random key and nonce.
The random key itself is AES-128-ECB encrypted using the DCP unique
or OTP key.

The DCP trusted key blob format is:
/*
 * struct dcp_blob_fmt - DCP BLOB format.
 *
 * @fmt_version: Format version, currently being %1
 * @blob_key: Random AES 128 key which is used to encrypt @payload,
 * @blob_key itself is encrypted with OTP or UNIQUE device key in
 *            AES-128-ECB mode by DCP.
 * @nonce: Random nonce used for @payload encryption.
 * @payload_len: Length of the plain text @payload.
 * @payload: The payload itself, encrypted using AES-128-GCM and @blob_key,
 * GCM auth tag of size AES_BLOCK_SIZE is attached at the end of it.
 *
 * The total size of a DCP BLOB is sizeof(struct dcp_blob_fmt) + @payload_len +
 * AES_BLOCK_SIZE.
 */
struct dcp_blob_fmt {
	__u8 fmt_version;
	__u8 blob_key[AES_KEYSIZE_128];
	__u8 nonce[AES_KEYSIZE_128];
	__le32 payload_len;
	__u8 payload[];
} __packed;

By default the unique key is used. It is also possible to use the
OTP key. While the unique key should be unique it is not documented how
this key is derived. Therefore selection the OTP key is supported as
well via the use_otp_key module parameter.

633cb72fb6 KEYS: trusted: improve scalability of trust source config
Enabling trusted keys requires at least one trust source implementation
(currently TPM, TEE or CAAM) to be enabled. Currently, this is
done by checking each trust source's config option individually.
This does not scale when more trust sources like the one for DCP
are added, because the condition will get long and hard to read.

Add config HAVE_TRUSTED_KEYS which is set to true by each trust source
once its enabled and adapt the check for having at least one active trust
source to use this option. Whenever a new trust source is added, it now
needs to select HAVE_TRUSTED_KEYS.

9da27fb65a keys: Fix overwrite of key expiration on instantiation
The expiry time of a key is unconditionally overwritten during
instantiation, defaulting to turn it permanent. This causes a problem
for DNS resolution as the expiration set by user-space is overwritten to

9578e327b2 keys: update key quotas in key_put()
Delaying key quotas update when key's refcount reaches 0 in key_put() has
been causing some issues in fscrypt testing, specifically in fstest
generic/581. This commit fixes this test flakiness by dealing with the
quotas immediately, and leaving all the other clean-ups to the key garbage
collector.

This is done by moving the updates to the qnkeys and qnbytes fields in
struct key_user from key_gc_unused_keys() into key_put().  Unfortunately,
this also means that we need to switch to the irq-version of the spinlock
that protects these fields and use spin_lock_{irqsave,irqrestore} in all
the code that touches these fields.

cd3cec0a02 ima: Move to LSM infrastructure
Move hardcoded IMA function calls (not appraisal-specific functions) from
various places in the kernel to the LSM infrastructure, by introducing a
new LSM named 'ima' (at the end of the LSM list and always enabled like
'integrity').

Having IMA before EVM in the Makefile is sufficient to preserve the
relative order of the new 'ima' LSM in respect to the upcoming 'evm' LSM,
and thus the order of IMA and EVM function calls as when they were
hardcoded.

Make moved functions as static (except ima_post_key_create_or_update(),
which is not in ima_main.c), and register them as implementation of the
respective hooks in the new function init_ima_lsm().

Select CONFIG_SECURITY_PATH, to ensure that the path-based LSM hook
path_post_mknod is always available and ima_post_path_mknod() is always
executed to mark files as new, as before the move.

A slight difference is that IMA and EVM functions registered for the
inode_post_setattr, inode_post_removexattr, path_post_mknod,
inode_post_create_tmpfile, inode_post_set_acl and inode_post_remove_acl
won't be executed for private inodes. Since those inodes are supposed to be
fs-internal, they should not be of interest to IMA or EVM. The S_PRIVATE
flag is used for anonymous inodes, hugetlbfs, reiserfs xattrs, XFS scrub
and kernel-internal tmpfs files.

Conditionally register ima_post_key_create_or_update() if
CONFIG_IMA_MEASURE_ASYMMETRIC_KEYS is enabled. Also, conditionally register
ima_kernel_module_request() if CONFIG_INTEGRITY_ASYMMETRIC_KEYS is enabled.

Finally, add the LSM_ID_IMA case in lsm_list_modules_test.c.

39299bdd25 keys, dns: Allow key types (eg. DNS) to be reclaimed immediately on expiry
If a key has an expiration time, then when that time passes, the key is
left around for a certain amount of time before being collected (5 mins by
default) so that EKEYEXPIRED can be returned instead of ENOKEY. This is a
problem for DNS keys because we want to redo the DNS lookup immediately at
that point.

Fix this by allowing key types to be marked such that keys of that type
don't have this extra period, but are reclaimed as soon as they expire and
turn this on for dns_resolver-type keys. To make this easier to handle,
key->expiry is changed to be permanent if TIME64_MAX rather than 0.

Furthermore, give such new-style negative DNS results a 1s default expiry
if no other expiry time is set rather than allowing it to stick around
indefinitely. This shouldn't be zero as ls will follow a failing stat call
immediately with a second with AT_SYMLINK_NOFOLLOW added.

c745cd1718 KEYS: trusted: tee: Refactor register SHM usage
The OP-TEE driver using the old SMC based ABI permits overlapping shared
buffers, but with the new FF-A based ABI each physical page may only
be registered once.

As the key and blob buffer are allocated adjancently, there is no need
for redundant register shared memory invocation. Also, it is incompatibile
with FF-A based ABI limitation. So refactor register shared memory
implementation to use only single invocation to register both key and blob
buffers.

For in-kernel consumers one cannot readily assign a user (eg when

01bbafc63b KEYS: trusted: Remove redundant static calls usage
Static calls invocations aren't well supported from module __init and
__exit functions. Especially the static call from cleanup_trusted() led
to a crash on x86 kernel with CONFIG_DEBUG_VIRTUAL=y.

However, the usage of static call invocations for trusted_key_init()
and trusted_key_exit() don't add any value from either a performance or
security perspective. Hence switch to use indirect function calls instead.

Note here that although it will fix the current crash report, ultimately
the static call infrastructure should be fixed to either support its
future usage from module __init and __exit functions or not.

The situation occurs as follows:
* Some kernel facility invokes dns_query() to resolve a hostname, for
  example, "abcdef". The function registers its global DNS resolver
  cache as current->cred.thread_keyring and passes the query to
  request_key_net() -> request_key_tag() -> request_key_and_link().
* Function request_key_and_link() creates a keyring_search_context
  object. Its match_data.cmp method gets set via a call to
  type->match_preparse() (resolves to dns_resolver_match_preparse()) to
  dns_resolver_cmp().
* Function request_key_and_link() continues and invokes
  search_process_keyrings_rcu() which returns that a given key was not
  found. The control is then passed to request_key_and_link() ->
  construct_alloc_key().
* Concurrently to that, a second task similarly makes a DNS query for
  "abcdef." and its result gets inserted into the DNS resolver cache.
* Back on the first task, function construct_alloc_key() first runs
  __key_link_begin() to determine an assoc_array_edit operation to
  insert a new key. Index keys in the array are compared exactly as-is,
  using keyring_compare_object(). The operation finds that "abcdef" is
  not yet present in the destination keyring.
* Function construct_alloc_key() continues and checks if a given key is
  already present on some keyring by again calling
  search_process_keyrings_rcu(). This search is done using
  dns_resolver_cmp() and "abcdef" gets matched with now present key
  "abcdef.".
* The found key is linked on the destination keyring by calling
  __key_link() and using the previously calculated assoc_array_edit
  operation. This inserts the "abcdef." key in the array but creates
  a duplicity because the same index key is already present.

Fix the problem by postponing __key_link_begin() in
construct_alloc_key() until an actual key which should be linked into
the destination keyring is determined.

28898e260a sysctl: move security keys sysctl registration to its own file
The security keys sysctls are already declared on its own file,
just move the sysctl registration to its own file to help avoid
merge conflicts on sysctls.c, and help with clearing up sysctl.c
further.

This creates a small penalty of 23 bytes:

./scripts/bloat-o-meter vmlinux.1 vmlinux.2
add/remove: 2/0 grow/shrink: 0/1 up/down: 49/-26 (23)
Function                                     old     new   delta
init_security_keys_sysctls                     -      33     +33
__pfx_init_security_keys_sysctls               -      16     +16

Total: Before=21256937, After=21256960, chg +0.00%

But soon we'll be saving tons of bytes anyway, as we modify the
sysctl registrations to use ARRAY_SIZE and so we get rid of all the
empty array elements so let's just clean this up now.

47f9e4c924 keys: Do not cache key in task struct if key is requested from kernel thread
The key which gets cached in task structure from a kernel thread does not
get invalidated even after expiry. Due to which, a new key request from
kernel thread will be served with the cached key if it's present in task
struct irrespective of the key validity. The change is to not cache key in
task_struct when key requested from kernel thread so that kernel thread
gets a valid key on every key request.

The problem has been seen with the cifs module doing DNS lookups from a
kernel thread and the results getting pinned by being attached to that
kernel thread's cache - and thus not something that can be easily got rid
of. The cache would ordinarily be cleared by notify-resume, but kernel
threads don't do that.

This isn't seen with AFS because AFS is doing request_key() within the
kernel half of a user thread - which will do notify-resume.

key_create() works like key_create_or_update() but does not allow

key_create() will be used by the blacklist keyring which should not
create duplicate entries or update existing entries.
Instead a dedicated message with appropriate severity will be logged.

de4eda9de2 use less confusing names for iov_iter direction initializers
READ/WRITE proved to be actively confusing - the meanings are
"data destination, as used with read(2)" and "data source, as
used with write(2)", but people keep interpreting those as
"we read data from it" and "we write data to it", i.e. exactly
the wrong way.

Call them ITER_DEST and ITER_SOURCE - at least that is harder

5adedd4224 KEYS: encrypted: fix key instantiation with user-provided data
Commit cd3bc044af ("KEYS: encrypted: Instantiate key with
user-provided decrypted data") added key instantiation with user
provided decrypted data. The user data is hex-ascii-encoded but was
just memcpy'ed to the binary buffer. Fix this to use hex2bin instead.

Old keys created from user provided decrypted data saved with "keyctl
pipe" are still valid, however if the key is recreated from decrypted
data the old key must be converted to the correct format. This can be
done with a small shell script, e.g.:

BROKENKEY=abcdefABCDEF1234567890aaaaaaaaaa
NEWKEY=$(echo -ne $BROKENKEY | xxd -p -c32)
keyctl add user masterkey "$(cat masterkey.bin)" @u
keyctl add encrypted testkey "new user:masterkey 32 $NEWKEY" @u

However, NEWKEY is still broken: If for BROKENKEY 32 bytes were
specified, a brute force attacker knowing the key properties would only
need to try at most 2^(16*8) keys, as if the key was only 16 bytes long.

The security issue is a result of the combination of limiting the input
range to hex-ascii and using memcpy() instead of hex2bin(). It could
have been fixed either by allowing binary input or using hex2bin() (and
doubling the ascii input key length). This patch implements the latter.

The corresponding test for the Linux Test Project ltp has also been
fixed (see link below).

dda5384313 KEYS: trusted: tpm2: Fix migratable logic
When creating (sealing) a new trusted key, migratable
trusted keys have the FIXED_TPM and FIXED_PARENT attributes
set, and non-migratable keys don't. This is backwards, and
also causes creation to fail when creating a migratable key
under a migratable parent. (The TPM thinks you are trying to
seal a non-migratable blob under a migratable parent.)

The following simple patch fixes the logic, and has been
tested for all four combinations of migratable and non-migratable
trusted keys and parent storage keys. With this logic, you will
get a proper failure if you try to create a non-migratable
trusted key under a migratable parent storage key, and all other
combinations work correctly.

e9c5048c2d KEYS: trusted: Introduce support for NXP CAAM-based trusted keys
The Cryptographic Acceleration and Assurance Module (CAAM) is an IP core
built into many newer i.MX and QorIQ SoCs by NXP.

The CAAM does crypto acceleration, hardware number generation and
has a blob mechanism for encapsulation/decapsulation of sensitive material.

This blob mechanism depends on a device specific random 256-bit One Time
Programmable Master Key that is fused in each SoC at manufacturing
time. This key is unreadable and can only be used by the CAAM for AES
encryption/decryption of user data.

This makes it a suitable backend (source) for kernel trusted keys.

Previous commits generalized trusted keys to support multiple backends
and added an API to access the CAAM blob mechanism. Based on these,
provide the necessary glue to use the CAAM for trusted keys.

fcd7c26901 KEYS: trusted: allow use of kernel RNG for key material
The two existing trusted key sources don't make use of the kernel RNG,
but instead let the hardware doing the sealing/unsealing also
generate the random key material. However, both users and future
backends may want to place less trust into the quality of the trust
source's random number generator and instead reuse the kernel entropy
pool, which can be seeded from multiple entropy sources.

Make this possible by adding a new trusted.rng parameter,
that will force use of the kernel RNG. In its absence, it's up
to the trust source to decide, which random numbers to use,
maintaining the existing behavior.

be07858fbf KEYS: trusted: allow use of TEE as backend without TCG_TPM support
With recent rework, trusted keys are no longer limited to TPM as trust
source. The Kconfig symbol is unchanged however leading to a few issues:

  - TCG_TPM is required, even if only TEE is to be used
  - Enabling TCG_TPM, but excluding it from available trusted sources
    is not possible
  - TEE=m && TRUSTED_KEYS=y will lead to TEE support being silently
    dropped, which is not the best user experience

Remedy these issues by introducing two new boolean Kconfig symbols:
TRUSTED_KEYS_TPM and TRUSTED_KEYS_TEE with the appropriate
dependencies.

Any new code depending on the TPM trusted key backend in particular
or symbols exported by it will now need to explicitly state that it

  depends on TRUSTED_KEYS && TRUSTED_KEYS_TPM

The latter to ensure the dependency is built and the former to ensure
it's reachable for module builds. There are no such users yet.

c1298a3a11 big_keys: Use struct for internal payload
The randstruct GCC plugin gets upset when it sees struct path (which is
randomized) being assigned from a "void *" (which it cannot type-check).

There's no need for these casts, as the entire internal payload use is
following a normal struct layout. Convert the enum-based void * offset
dereferencing to the new big_key_payload struct. No meaningful machine
code changes result after this change, and source readability is improved.

Drop the randstruct exception now that there is no "confusing" cross-type
assignment.

969a26446b KEYS: trusted: Fix trusted key backends when building as module
Before this commit the kernel could end up with no trusted key sources
even though both of the currently supported backends (TPM and TEE) were
compiled as modules. This manifested in the trusted key type not being
registered at all.

When checking if a CONFIG_… preprocessor variable is defined we only
test for the builtin (=y) case and not the module (=m) case. By using

c51abd9683 KEYS: fix length validation in keyctl_pkey_params_get_2()
In many cases, keyctl_pkey_params_get_2() is validating the user buffer
lengths against the wrong algorithm properties. Fix it to check against
the correct properties.

Probably this wasn't noticed before because for all asymmetric keys of
the "public_key" subtype, max_data_size == max_sig_size == max_enc_size
== max_dec_size. However, this isn't necessarily true for the
"asym_tpm" subtype (it should be, but it's not strictly validated). Of
course, future key types could have different values as well.

215bebc8c6 crypto: dh - constify struct dh's pointer members
struct dh contains several pointer members corresponding to DH parameters:
->key, ->p and ->g. A subsequent commit will introduce "dh" wrapping
templates of the form "ffdhe2048(dh)", "ffdhe3072(dh)" and so on in order
to provide built-in support for the well-known safe-prime ffdhe group
parameters specified in RFC 7919. These templates will need to set the
group parameter related members of the (serialized) struct dh instance
passed to the inner "dh" kpp_alg instance, i.e. ->p and ->g, to some
constant, static storage arrays.

Turn the struct dh pointer members' types into "pointer to const" in

cd3bc044af KEYS: encrypted: Instantiate key with user-provided decrypted data
For availability and performance reasons master keys often need to be
released outside of a Key Management Service (KMS) to clients. It
would be beneficial to provide a mechanism where the
wrapping/unwrapping of data encryption keys (DEKs) is not dependent
on a remote call at runtime yet security is not (or only minimally)
compromised. Master keys could be securely stored in the Kernel and
be used to wrap/unwrap keys from Userspace.

The encrypted.c class supports instantiation of encrypted keys with
either an already-encrypted key material, or by generating new key
material based on random numbers. This patch defines a new datablob
format: [<format>] <master-key name> <decrypted data length>
<decrypted data> that allows to inject and encrypt user-provided
decrypted data. The decrypted data must be hex-ascii encoded.

5ebcbe342b ucounts: Move get_ucounts from cred_alloc_blank to key_change_session_keyring
Setting cred->ucounts in cred_alloc_blank does not make sense. The
uid and user_ns are deliberately not set in cred_alloc_blank but
instead the setting is delayed until key_change_session_keyring.

So move dealing with ucounts into key_change_session_keyring as well.

Unfortunately that movement of get_ucounts adds a new failure mode to
key_change_session_keyring. I do not see anything stopping the parent
process from calling setuid and changing the relevant part of it's
cred while keyctl_session_to_parent is running making it fundamentally
necessary to call get_ucounts in key_change_session_keyring. Which
means that the new failure mode cannot be avoided.

A failure of key_change_session_keyring results in a single threaded
parent keeping it's existing credentials. Which results in the parent
process not being able to access the session keyring and whichever
keys are in the new keyring.

Further get_ucounts is only expected to fail if the number of bits in
the refernece count for the structure is too few.

Since the code has no other way to report the failure of get_ucounts
and because such failures are not expected to be common add a WARN_ONCE
to report this problem to userspace.

Between the WARN_ONCE and the parent process not having access to
the keys in the new session keyring I expect any failure of get_ucounts
will be noticed and reported and we can find another way to handle this
condition. (Possibly by just making ucounts->count an atomic_long_t).

60dc5f1bcf KEYS: trusted: fix TPM trusted keys for generic framework
The generic framework patch broke the current TPM trusted keys because
it doesn't correctly remove the values consumed by the generic parser
before passing them on to the implementation specific parser. Fix
this by having the generic parser return the string minus the consumed
tokens.

Additionally, there may be no tokens left for the implementation
specific parser, so make it handle the NULL case correctly and finally
fix a TPM 1.2 specific check for no keyhandle.

5d0682be31 KEYS: trusted: Add generic trusted keys framework
Current trusted keys framework is tightly coupled to use TPM device as
an underlying implementation which makes it difficult for implementations
like Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) etc. to provide trusted keys
support in case platform doesn't posses a TPM device.

Add a generic trusted keys framework where underlying implementations
can be easily plugged in. Create struct trusted_key_ops to achieve this,
which contains necessary functions of a backend.

Also, define a module parameter in order to select a particular trust
source in case a platform support multiple trust sources. In case its
not specified then implementation itetrates through trust sources list
starting with TPM and assign the first trust source as a backend which
has initiazed successfully during iteration.

Note that current implementation only supports a single trust source at
runtime which is either selectable at compile time or during boot via
aforementioned module parameter.

e5fb5d2c5a security: keys: trusted: Make sealed key properly interoperable
The current implementation appends a migratable flag to the end of a
key, meaning the format isn't exactly interoperable because the using
party needs to know to strip this extra byte. However, all other
consumers of TPM sealed blobs expect the unseal to return exactly the
key. Since TPM2 keys have a key property flag that corresponds to
migratable, use that flag instead and make the actual key the only
sealed quantity. This is secure because the key properties are bound
to a hash in the private part, so if they're altered the key won't
load.

Backwards compatibility is implemented by detecting whether we're
loading a new format key or not and correctly setting migratable from
the last byte of old format keys.

f221974525 security: keys: trusted: use ASN.1 TPM2 key format for the blobs
Modify the TPM2 key format blob output to export and import in the
ASN.1 form for TPM2 sealed object keys. For compatibility with prior
trusted keys, the importer will also accept two TPM2B quantities
representing the public and private parts of the key. However, the
export via keyctl pipe will only output the ASN.1 format.

The benefit of the ASN.1 format is that it's a standard and thus the
exported key can be used by userspace tools (openssl_tpm2_engine,
openconnect and tpm2-tss-engine). The format includes policy
specifications, thus it gets us out of having to construct policy
handles in userspace and the format includes the parent meaning you
don't have to keep passing it in each time.

This patch only implements basic handling for the ASN.1 format, so
keys with passwords but no policy.

de66514d93 security: keys: trusted: fix TPM2 authorizations
In TPM 1.2 an authorization was a 20 byte number. The spec actually
recommended you to hash variable length passwords and use the sha1
hash as the authorization. Because the spec doesn't require this
hashing, the current authorization for trusted keys is a 40 digit hex
number. For TPM 2.0 the spec allows the passing in of variable length
passwords and passphrases directly, so we should allow that in trusted
keys for ease of use. Update the 'blobauth' parameter to take this
into account, so we can now use plain text passwords for the keys.

so before

keyctl add trusted kmk "new 32 blobauth=f572d396fae9206628714fb2ce00f72e94f2258fkeyhandle=81000001" @u

after we will accept both the old hex sha1 form as well as a new
directly supplied password:

keyctl add trusted kmk "new 32 blobauth=hello keyhandle=81000001" @u

Since a sha1 hex code must be exactly 40 bytes long and a direct
password must be 20 or less, we use the length as the discriminator
for which form is input.

Note this is both and enhancement and a potential bug fix. The TPM
2.0 spec requires us to strip leading zeros, meaning empyty
authorization is a zero length HMAC whereas we're currently passing in
20 bytes of zeros. A lot of TPMs simply accept this as OK, but the
Microsoft TPM emulator rejects it with TPM_RC_BAD_AUTH, so this patch
makes the Microsoft TPM emulator work with trusted keys.

Merge tag 'keys-misc-20210126' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dhowells/linux-fs

Pull keyring updates from David Howells:
 "Here's a set of minor keyrings fixes/cleanups that I've collected from
  various people for the upcoming merge window.

  A couple of them might, in theory, be visible to userspace:

   - Make blacklist_vet_description() reject uppercase letters as they
     don't match the all-lowercase hex string generated for a blacklist
     search.

     This may want reconsideration in the future, but, currently, you
     can't add to the blacklist keyring from userspace and the only
     source of blacklist keys generates lowercase descriptions.

   - Fix blacklist_init() to use a new KEY_ALLOC_* flag to indicate that
     it wants KEY_FLAG_KEEP to be set rather than passing KEY_FLAG_KEEP
     into keyring_alloc() as KEY_FLAG_KEEP isn't a valid alloc flag.

     This isn't currently a problem as the blacklist keyring isn't
     currently writable by userspace.

  The rest of the patches are cleanups and I don't think they should
  have any visible effect"

8c657a0590 KEYS: trusted: Reserve TPM for seal and unseal operations
When TPM 2.0 trusted keys code was moved to the trusted keys subsystem,
the operations were unwrapped from tpm_try_get_ops() and tpm_put_ops(),
which are used to take temporarily the ownership of the TPM chip. The
ownership is only taken inside tpm_send(), but this is not sufficient,
as in the key load TPM2_CC_LOAD, TPM2_CC_UNSEAL and TPM2_FLUSH_CONTEXT
need to be done as a one single atom.

Take the TPM chip ownership before sending anything with
tpm_try_get_ops() and tpm_put_ops(), and use tpm_transmit_cmd() to send
TPM commands instead of tpm_send(), reverting back to the old behaviour.

8da7520c80 KEYS: trusted: Fix migratable=1 failing
Consider the following transcript:

$ keyctl add trusted kmk "new 32 blobauth=helloworld keyhandle=80000000 migratable=1" @u
add_key: Invalid argument

The documentation has the following description:

  migratable= 0|1 indicating permission to reseal to new PCR values,
                default 1 (resealing allowed)

The consequence is that "migratable=1" should succeed. Fix this by
allowing this condition to pass instead of return -EINVAL.

5df16caada KEYS: trusted: Fix incorrect handling of tpm_get_random()
When tpm_get_random() was introduced, it defined the following API for the
return value:

1. A positive value tells how many bytes of random data was generated.
2. A negative value on error.

However, in the call sites the API was used incorrectly, i.e. as it would
only return negative values and otherwise zero. Returning he positive read
counts to the user space does not make any possible sense.

Fix this by returning -EIO when tpm_get_random() returns a positive value.

4993e1f947 certs: Fix blacklist flag type confusion
KEY_FLAG_KEEP is not meant to be passed to keyring_alloc() or key_alloc(),
as these only take KEY_ALLOC_* flags. KEY_FLAG_KEEP has the same value as
KEY_ALLOC_BYPASS_RESTRICTION, but fortunately only key_create_or_update()
uses it. LSMs using the key_alloc hook don't check that flag.

KEY_FLAG_KEEP is then ignored but fortunately (again) the root user cannot
write to the blacklist keyring, so it is not possible to remove a key/hash
from it.

Fix this by adding a KEY_ALLOC_SET_KEEP flag that tells key_alloc() to set
KEY_FLAG_KEEP on the new key. blacklist_init() can then, correctly, pass
this to keyring_alloc().

We can also use this in ima_mok_init() rather than setting the flag
manually.

Note that this doesn't fix an observable bug with the current
implementation but it is required to allow addition of new hashes to the
blacklist in the future without making it possible for them to be removed.

c224926edf KEYS: remove redundant memset
Reviewing use of memset in keyctl_pkey.c

keyctl_pkey_params_get prologue code to set params up

	memset(params, 0, sizeof(*params));
	params->encoding = "raw";

keyctl_pkey_query has the same prologue
and calls keyctl_pkey_params_get.

So remove the prologue.
