virt: sev-guest: Contain snp_guest_request_ioctl in sev-guest
SNP Guest Request uses only exitinfo2 which is a return value from GHCB, has meaning beyond ioctl and therefore belongs to struct snp_guest_req. Move exitinfo2 there and remove snp_guest_request_ioctl from the SEV platform code. No functional change intended. fix locking in efi_secret_unlink()
We used to need securityfs_remove() to undo simple_pin_fs() done when the file had been created and to drop the second extra reference taken at the same time. Now that neither is needed (or done by securityfs_remove()), we can simply call simple_unlink() and be done with that - the broken games with locking had been there only for the sake of securityfs_remove(). Char/Misc/IIO pull request for 6.16-rc1
Here is the big char/misc/iio and other small driver subsystem pull
request for 6.16-rc1.
Overall, a lot of individual changes, but nothing major, just the normal
constant forward progress of new device support and cleanups to existing
subsystems. Highlights in here are:
- Large IIO driver updates and additions and device tree changes
- Android binder bugfixes and logfile fixes
- mhi driver updates
- comedi driver updates
- counter driver updates and additions
- coresight driver updates and additions
- echo driver removal as there are no in-kernel users of it
- nvmem driver updates
- spmi driver updates
- new amd-sbi driver "subsystem" and drivers added
- rust miscdriver binding documentation fix
- other small driver fixes and updates (uio, w1, acrn, hpet, xillybus,
cardreader drivers, fastrpc and others.)
All of these have been in linux-next for quite a while with no reported
problems.

tsm-mr: Add TVM Measurement Register support
Introduce new TSM Measurement helper library (tsm-mr) for TVM guest drivers
to expose MRs (Measurement Registers) as sysfs attributes, with Crypto
Agility support.
Add the following new APIs (see include/linux/tsm-mr.h for details):
- tsm_mr_create_attribute_group(): Take on input a `struct
tsm_measurements` instance, which includes one `struct
tsm_measurement_register` per MR with properties like `TSM_MR_F_READABLE`
and `TSM_MR_F_WRITABLE`, to determine the supported operations and create
the sysfs attributes accordingly. On success, return a `struct
attribute_group` instance that will typically be included by the guest
driver into `miscdevice.groups` before calling misc_register().
- tsm_mr_free_attribute_group(): Free the memory allocated to the attrubute
group returned by tsm_mr_create_attribute_group().
tsm_mr_create_attribute_group() creates one attribute for each MR, with
names following this pattern:
MRNAME[:HASH]
- MRNAME - Placeholder for the MR name, as specified by
`tsm_measurement_register.mr_name`.
- :HASH - Optional suffix indicating the hash algorithm associated with
this MR, as specified by `tsm_measurement_register.mr_hash`.
Support Crypto Agility by allowing multiple definitions of the same MR
(i.e., with the same `mr_name`) with distinct HASH algorithms.
NOTE: Crypto Agility, introduced in TPM 2.0, allows new hash algorithms to
be introduced without breaking compatibility with applications using older
algorithms. CC architectures may face the same challenge in the future,
needing new hashes for security while retaining compatibility with older
hashes, hence the need for Crypto Agility.

configfs-tsm-report: Fix NULL dereference of tsm_ops
Unlike sysfs, the lifetime of configfs objects is controlled by
userspace. There is no mechanism for the kernel to find and delete all
created config-items. Instead, the configfs-tsm-report mechanism has an
expectation that tsm_unregister() can happen at any time and cause
established config-item access to start failing.
That expectation is not fully satisfied. While tsm_report_read(),
tsm_report_{is,is_bin}_visible(), and tsm_report_make_item() safely fail
if tsm_ops have been unregistered, tsm_report_privlevel_store()
tsm_report_provider_show() fail to check for ops registration. Add the
missing checks for tsm_ops having been removed.
Now, in supporting the ability for tsm_unregister() to always succeed,
it leaves the problem of what to do with lingering config-items. The
expectation is that the admin that arranges for the ->remove() (unbind)
of the ${tsm_arch}-guest driver is also responsible for deletion of all
open config-items. Until that deletion happens, ->probe() (reload /
bind) of the ${tsm_arch}-guest driver fails.
This allows for emergency shutdown / revocation of attestation
interfaces, and requires coordinated restart.

coco/guest: Move shared guest CC infrastructure to drivers/virt/coco/guest/
In preparation for creating a new drivers/virt/coco/host/ directory to house shared host driver infrastructure for confidential computing, move configfs-tsm to a guest/ sub-directory. The tsm.ko module is renamed to tsm_reports.ko. The old tsm.ko module was only ever demand loaded by kernel internal dependencies, so it should not affect existing userspace module install scripts. The new drivers/virt/coco/guest/ is also a preparatory landing spot for new / optional TSM Report mechanics like a TCB stability enumeration / watchdog mechanism. To be added later. Pull misc vfs updates from Christian Brauner:
"Features:
- Support caching symlink lengths in inodes
The size is stored in a new union utilizing the same space as
i_devices, thus avoiding growing the struct or taking up any more
space
When utilized it dodges strlen() in vfs_readlink(), giving about
1.5% speed up when issuing readlink on /initrd.img on ext4
- Add RWF_DONTCACHE iocb and FOP_DONTCACHE file_operations flag
If a file system supports uncached buffered IO, it may set
FOP_DONTCACHE and enable support for RWF_DONTCACHE.
If RWF_DONTCACHE is attempted without the file system supporting
it, it'll get errored with -EOPNOTSUPP
- Enable VBOXGUEST and VBOXSF_FS on ARM64
Now that VirtualBox is able to run as a host on arm64 (e.g. the
Apple M3 processors) we can enable VBOXSF_FS (and in turn
VBOXGUEST) for this architecture.
Tested with various runs of bonnie++ and dbench on an Apple MacBook
Pro with the latest Virtualbox 7.1.4 r165100 installed
Cleanups:
- Delay sysctl_nr_open check in expand_files()
- Use kernel-doc includes in fiemap docbook
- Use page->private instead of page->index in watch_queue
- Use a consume fence in mnt_idmap() as it's heavily used in
link_path_walk()
- Replace magic number 7 with ARRAY_SIZE() in fc_log
- Sort out a stale comment about races between fd alloc and dup2()
- Fix return type of do_mount() from long to int
- Various cosmetic cleanups for the lockref code
Fixes:
- Annotate spinning as unlikely() in __read_seqcount_begin
The annotation already used to be there, but got lost in commit

arm64: rsi: Add automatic arm-cca-guest module loading
The TSM module provides guest identification and attestation when a guest runs in CCA realm mode. By creating a dummy platform device, let's ensure the module is automatically loaded. The udev daemon loads the TSM module after it receives a device addition event. Once that happens, it can be used earlier in the boot process to decrypt the rootfs. x86/sev: Relocate SNP guest messaging routines to common code
At present, the SEV guest driver exclusively handles SNP guest messaging. All routines for sending guest messages are embedded within it. To support Secure TSC, SEV-SNP guests must communicate with the AMD Security Processor during early boot. However, these guest messaging functions are not accessible during early boot since they are currently part of the guest driver. Hence, relocate the core SNP guest messaging functions to SEV common code and provide an API for sending SNP guest messages. No functional change, but just an export symbol added for snp_send_guest_request() and dropped the export symbol on snp_issue_guest_request() and made it static. x86/sev: Carve out and export SNP guest messaging init routines
Currently, the sev-guest driver is the only user of SNP guest messaging. All routines for initializing SNP guest messaging are implemented within the sev-guest driver and are not available during early boot. In preparation for adding Secure TSC guest support, carve out APIs to allocate and initialize the guest messaging descriptor context and make it part of coco/sev/core.c. As there is no user of sev_guest_platform_data anymore, remove the structure. virt: sev-guest: Replace GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT with GFP_KERNEL
Replace GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT with GFP_KERNEL in the sev-guest driver code.
GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT is typically used for accounting untrusted userspace
allocations. After auditing the sev-guest code, the following changes are
necessary:
* snp_init_crypto(): Use GFP_KERNEL as this is a trusted device probe
path.
Retain GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT in the following cases for robustness and
specific path requirements:
* alloc_shared_pages(): Although all allocations are limited, retain
GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT for future robustness.
* get_report() and get_ext_report(): These functions are on the unlocked
ioctl path and should continue using GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT.

virt: tdx-guest: Just leak decrypted memory on unrecoverable errors
In CoCo VMs it is possible for the untrusted host to cause
set_memory_decrypted() to fail such that an error is returned
and the resulting memory is shared. Callers need to take care
to handle these errors to avoid returning decrypted (shared)
memory to the page allocator, which could lead to functional
or security issues.
Leak the decrypted memory when set_memory_decrypted() fails,
and don't need to print an error since set_memory_decrypted()
will call WARN_ONCE().

Get rid of 'remove_new' relic from platform driver struct
The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and is really not helping. Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a comment to that effect: /* * .remove_new() is a relic from a prototype conversion of .remove(). * New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are * converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped. */ This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with '.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs to make things line up. I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used spaces to line things up. Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this is the end result. No more unnecessary conversion noise. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org> |

arm64 updates for 6.13:
* Support for running Linux in a protected VM under the Arm Confidential
Compute Architecture (CCA)
* Guarded Control Stack user-space support. Current patches follow the
x86 ABI of implicitly creating a shadow stack on clone(). Subsequent
patches (already on the list) will add support for clone3() allowing
finer-grained control of the shadow stack size and placement from libc
* AT_HWCAP3 support (not running out of HWCAP2 bits yet but we are
getting close with the upcoming dpISA support)
* Other arch features:
- In-kernel use of the memcpy instructions, FEAT_MOPS (previously only
exposed to user; uaccess support not merged yet)
- MTE: hugetlbfs support and the corresponding kselftests
- Optimise CRC32 using the PMULL instructions
- Support for FEAT_HAFT enabling ARCH_HAS_NONLEAF_PMD_YOUNG
- Optimise the kernel TLB flushing to use the range operations
- POE/pkey (permission overlays): further cleanups after bringing the
signal handler in line with the x86 behaviour for 6.12
* arm64 perf updates:
- Support for the NXP i.MX91 PMU in the existing IMX driver
- Support for Ampere SoCs in the Designware PCIe PMU driver
- Support for Marvell's 'PEM' PCIe PMU present in the 'Odyssey' SoC
- Support for Samsung's 'Mongoose' CPU PMU
- Support for PMUv3.9 finer-grained userspace counter access control
- Switch back to platform_driver::remove() now that it returns 'void'
- Add some missing events for the CXL PMU driver
* Miscellaneous arm64 fixes/cleanups:
- Page table accessors cleanup: type updates, drop unused macros,
reorganise arch_make_huge_pte() and clean up pte_mkcont(), sanity
check addresses before runtime P4D/PUD folding
- Command line override for ID_AA64MMFR0_EL1.ECV (advertising the
FEAT_ECV for the generic timers) allowing Linux to boot with
firmware deployments that don't set SCTLR_EL3.ECVEn

Merge tag 'arm64-upstream' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm64/linux
Pull arm64 updates from Catalin Marinas:
- Support for running Linux in a protected VM under the Arm
Confidential Compute Architecture (CCA)
- Guarded Control Stack user-space support. Current patches follow the
x86 ABI of implicitly creating a shadow stack on clone(). Subsequent
patches (already on the list) will add support for clone3() allowing
finer-grained control of the shadow stack size and placement from
libc
- AT_HWCAP3 support (not running out of HWCAP2 bits yet but we are
getting close with the upcoming dpISA support)
- Other arch features:
- In-kernel use of the memcpy instructions, FEAT_MOPS (previously
only exposed to user; uaccess support not merged yet)
- MTE: hugetlbfs support and the corresponding kselftests
- Optimise CRC32 using the PMULL instructions
- Support for FEAT_HAFT enabling ARCH_HAS_NONLEAF_PMD_YOUNG
- Optimise the kernel TLB flushing to use the range operations
- POE/pkey (permission overlays): further cleanups after bringing
the signal handler in line with the x86 behaviour for 6.12
- arm64 perf updates:
- Support for the NXP i.MX91 PMU in the existing IMX driver
- Support for Ampere SoCs in the Designware PCIe PMU driver
- Support for Marvell's 'PEM' PCIe PMU present in the 'Odyssey' SoC
- Support for Samsung's 'Mongoose' CPU PMU
- Support for PMUv3.9 finer-grained userspace counter access
control
- Switch back to platform_driver::remove() now that it returns
'void'
- Add some missing events for the CXL PMU driver
- Miscellaneous arm64 fixes/cleanups:
- Page table accessors cleanup: type updates, drop unused macros,
reorganise arch_make_huge_pte() and clean up pte_mkcont(), sanity
check addresses before runtime P4D/PUD folding
- Command line override for ID_AA64MMFR0_EL1.ECV (advertising the
FEAT_ECV for the generic timers) allowing Linux to boot with
firmware deployments that don't set SCTLR_EL3.ECVEn
- ACPI/arm64: tighten the check for the array of platform timer
structures and adjust the error handling procedure in
gtdt_parse_timer_block()
- Optimise the cache flush for the uprobes xol slot (skip if no
change) and other uprobes/kprobes cleanups

assorted variants of irqfd setup: convert to CLASS(fd)
in all of those failure exits prior to fdget() are plain returns and the only thing done after fdput() is (on failure exits) a kfree(), which can be done before fdput() just fine. NOTE: in acrn_irqfd_assign() 'fail:' failure exit is wrong for eventfd_ctx_fileget() failure (we only want fdput() there) and once we stop doing that, it doesn't need to check if eventfd is NULL or ERR_PTR(...) there. NOTE: in privcmd we move fdget() up before the allocation - more to the point, before the copy_from_user() attempt. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk> |

virt: arm-cca-guest: TSM_REPORT support for realms
Introduce an arm-cca-guest driver that registers with
the configfs-tsm module to provide user interfaces for
retrieving an attestation token.
When a new report is requested the arm-cca-guest driver
invokes the appropriate RSI interfaces to query an
attestation token.
The steps to retrieve an attestation token are as follows:
1. Mount the configfs filesystem if not already mounted
mount -t configfs none /sys/kernel/config
2. Generate an attestation token
report=/sys/kernel/config/tsm/report/report0
mkdir $report
dd if=/dev/urandom bs=64 count=1 > $report/inblob

virt: sev-guest: Carve out SNP message context structure
Currently, the sev-guest driver is the only user of SNP guest messaging. The snp_guest_dev structure holds all the allocated buffers, secrets page and VMPCK details. In preparation for adding messaging allocation and initialization APIs, decouple snp_guest_dev from messaging-related information by carving out the guest message context structure(snp_msg_desc). Incorporate this newly added context into snp_send_guest_request() and all related functions, replacing the use of the snp_guest_dev. No functional change. virt: sev-guest: Reduce the scope of SNP command mutex
The SNP command mutex is used to serialize access to the shared buffer, command handling, and message sequence number. All shared buffer, command handling, and message sequence updates are done within snp_send_guest_request(), so moving the mutex to this function is appropriate and maintains the critical section. Since the mutex is now taken at a later point in time, remove the lockdep checks that occur before taking the mutex. virt: sev-guest: Use AES GCM crypto library
The sev-guest driver encryption code uses the crypto API for SNP guest messaging with the AMD Security processor. In order to enable secure TSC, SEV-SNP guests need to send such a TSC_INFO message before the APs are booted. Details from the TSC_INFO response will then be used to program the VMSA before the APs are brought up. However, the crypto API is not available this early in the boot process. In preparation for moving the encryption code out of sev-guest to support secure TSC and to ease review, switch to using the AES GCM library implementation instead. Drop __enc_payload() and dec_payload() helpers as both are small and can be moved to the respective callers. virt: sev-guest: Ensure the SNP guest messages do not exceed a page
Currently, struct snp_guest_msg includes a message header (96 bytes) and a payload (4000 bytes). There is an implicit assumption here that the SNP message header will always be 96 bytes, and with that assumption the payload array size has been set to 4000 bytes - a magic number. If any new member is added to the SNP message header, the SNP guest message will span more than a page. Instead of using a magic number for the payload, declare struct snp_guest_msg in a way that payload plus the message header do not exceed a page. introduce fd_file(), convert all accessors to it.
For any changes of struct fd representation we need to
turn existing accesses to fields into calls of wrappers.
Accesses to struct fd::flags are very few (3 in linux/file.h,
1 in net/socket.c, 3 in fs/overlayfs/file.c and 3 more in
explicit initializers).
Those can be dealt with in the commit converting to
new layout; accesses to struct fd::file are too many for that.
This commit converts (almost) all of f.file to
fd_file(f). It's not entirely mechanical ('file' is used as
a member name more than just in struct fd) and it does not
even attempt to distinguish the uses in pointer context from
those in boolean context; the latter will be eventually turned
into a separate helper (fd_empty()).
NOTE: mass conversion to fd_empty(), tempting as it
might be, is a bad idea; better do that piecewise in commit
that convert from fdget...() to CLASS(...).

API-wise, this includes a new KVM_X86_SNP_VM type, encrypting/measure the initial image into guest memory, and finalizing it before launching it. Internally, there are some gmem/mmu hooks needed to prepare gmem-allocated pages before mapping them into guest private memory ranges. This includes basic support for attestation guest requests, enough to say that KVM supports the GHCB 2.0 specification. There is no support yet for loading into the firmware those signing keys to be used for attestation requests, and therefore no need yet for the host to provide certificate data for those keys. To support fetching certificate data from userspace, a new KVM exit type will be needed to handle fetching the certificate from userspace. An attempt to define a new KVM_EXIT_COCO/KVM_EXIT_COCO_REQ_CERTS exit type to handle this was introduced in v1 of this patchset, but is still being discussed by community, so for now this patchset only implements a stub version of SNP Extended Guest Requests that does not provide certificate data. x86 - Intel: * Remove an unnecessary EPT TLB flush when enabling hardware. * Fix a series of bugs that cause KVM to fail to detect nested pending posted interrupts as valid wake eents for a vCPU executing HLT in L2 (with HLT-exiting disable by L1). * KVM: x86: Suppress MMIO that is triggered during task switch emulation Explicitly suppress userspace emulated MMIO exits that are triggered when emulating a task switch as KVM doesn't support userspace MMIO during complex (multi-step) emulation. Silently ignoring the exit request can result in the WARN_ON_ONCE(vcpu->mmio_needed) firing if KVM exits to userspace for some other reason prior to purging mmio_needed. See commit |

Merge branch 'kvm-6.11-sev-attestation' into HEAD
The GHCB 2.0 specification defines 2 GHCB request types to allow SNP guests
to send encrypted messages/requests to firmware: SNP Guest Requests and SNP
Extended Guest Requests. These encrypted messages are used for things like
servicing attestation requests issued by the guest. Implementing support for
these is required to be fully GHCB-compliant.
For the most part, KVM only needs to handle forwarding these requests to
firmware (to be issued via the SNP_GUEST_REQUEST firmware command defined
in the SEV-SNP Firmware ABI), and then forwarding the encrypted response to
the guest.
However, in the case of SNP Extended Guest Requests, the host is also
able to provide the certificate data corresponding to the endorsement key
used by firmware to sign attestation report requests. This certificate data
is provided by userspace because:
1) It allows for different keys/key types to be used for each particular
guest with requiring any sort of KVM API to configure the certificate
table in advance on a per-guest basis.
2) It provides additional flexibility with how attestation requests might
be handled during live migration where the certificate data for
source/dest might be different.
3) It allows all synchronization between certificates and firmware/signing
key updates to be handled purely by userspace rather than requiring
some in-kernel mechanism to facilitate it. [1]
To support fetching certificate data from userspace, a new KVM exit type will
be needed to handle fetching the certificate from userspace. An attempt to
define a new KVM_EXIT_COCO/KVM_EXIT_COCO_REQ_CERTS exit type to handle this
was introduced in v1 of this patchset, but is still being discussed by
community, so for now this patchset only implements a stub version of SNP
Extended Guest Requests that does not provide certificate data, but is still
enough to provide compliance with the GHCB 2.0 spec.

x86/sev: Move sev_guest.h into common SEV header
sev_guest.h currently contains various definitions relating to the format of SNP_GUEST_REQUEST commands to SNP firmware. Currently only the sev-guest driver makes use of them, but when the KVM side of this is implemented there's a need to parse the SNP_GUEST_REQUEST header to determine whether additional information needs to be provided to the guest. Prepare for this by moving those definitions to a common header that's shared by host/guest code so that KVM can also make use of them. x86/sev: Extend the config-fs attestation support for an SVSM
When an SVSM is present, the guest can also request attestation reports
from it. These SVSM attestation reports can be used to attest the SVSM
and any services running within the SVSM.
Extend the config-fs attestation support to provide such. This involves
creating four new config-fs attributes:
- 'service-provider' (input)
This attribute is used to determine whether the attestation request
should be sent to the specified service provider or to the SEV
firmware. The SVSM service provider is represented by the value
'svsm'.
- 'service_guid' (input)
Used for requesting the attestation of a single service within the
service provider. A null GUID implies that the SVSM_ATTEST_SERVICES
call should be used to request the attestation report. A non-null
GUID implies that the SVSM_ATTEST_SINGLE_SERVICE call should be used.
- 'service_manifest_version' (input)
Used with the SVSM_ATTEST_SINGLE_SERVICE call, the service version
represents a specific service manifest version be used for the
attestation report.
- 'manifestblob' (output)
Used to return the service manifest associated with the attestation
report.
Only display these new attributes when running under an SVSM.

memory-tight memcg. Addressed in the series "Fix I/O high when
memory almost met memcg limit".
- In the series "mm/filemap: optimize folio adding and splitting"
Kairui Song has optimized pagecache insertion, yielding ~10%
performance improvement in one test.

Merge tag 'hardening-6.10-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/kees/linux
Pull hardening updates from Kees Cook:
"The bulk of the changes here are related to refactoring and expanding
the KUnit tests for string helper and fortify behavior.
Some trivial strncpy replacements in fs/ were carried in my tree. Also
some fixes to SCSI string handling were carried in my tree since the
helper for those was introduce here. Beyond that, just little fixes
all around: objtool getting confused about LKDTM+KCFI, preparing for
future refactors (constification of sysctl tables, additional
__counted_by annotations), a Clang UBSAN+i386 crash fix, and adding
more options in the hardening.config Kconfig fragment.
Summary:
- selftests: Add str*cmp tests (Ivan Orlov)
- __counted_by: provide UAPI for _le/_be variants (Erick Archer)
- Various strncpy deprecation refactors (Justin Stitt)
- stackleak: Use a copy of soon-to-be-const sysctl table (Thomas
Weißschuh)
- UBSAN: Work around i386 -regparm=3 bug with Clang prior to
version 19
- Provide helper to deal with non-NUL-terminated string copying
- SCSI: Fix older string copying bugs (with new helper)
- selftests: Consolidate string helper behavioral tests
- selftests: add memcpy() fortify tests
- string: Add additional __realloc_size() annotations for "dup"

... and centralize the VM_IO/VM_PFNMAP sanity check in there. We'll now also perform these sanity checks for direct follow_pte() invocations. drivers/virt/acrn: fix PFNMAP PTE checks in acrn_vm_ram_map()
Patch series "mm: follow_pte() improvements and acrn follow_pte() fixes".
Patch #1 fixes a bunch of issues I spotted in the acrn driver. It
compiles, that's all I know. I'll appreciate some review and testing from
acrn folks.
Patch #2+#3 improve follow_pte(), passing a VMA instead of the MM, adding
more sanity checks, and improving the documentation. Gave it a quick test
on x86-64 using VM_PAT that ends up using follow_pte().
This patch (of 3):
We currently miss handling various cases, resulting in a dangerous
follow_pte() (previously follow_pfn()) usage.
(1) We're not checking PTE write permissions.
Maybe we should simply always require pte_write() like we do for
pin_user_pages_fast(FOLL_WRITE)? Hard to tell, so let's check for
ACRN_MEM_ACCESS_WRITE for now.
(2) We're not rejecting refcounted pages.
As we are not using MMU notifiers, messing with refcounted pages is
dangerous and can result in use-after-free. Let's make sure to reject them.
(3) We are only looking at the first PTE of a bigger range.
We only lookup a single PTE, but memmap->len may span a larger area.
Let's loop over all involved PTEs and make sure the PFN range is
actually contiguous. Reject everything else: it couldn't have worked
either way, and rather made use access PFNs we shouldn't be accessing.

virt: vmgenid: add support for devicetree bindings
Extend the vmgenid platform driver to support devicetree bindings. With
this support, hypervisors can send vmgenid notifications to the virtual
machine without the need to enable ACPI. The bindings are located at:
Documentation/devicetree/bindings/rng/microsoft,vmgenid.yaml
Since this is no longer ACPI-dependent, remove the dependency from
Kconfig and protect the ACPI code with a single ifdef.

virt: acrn: stop using follow_pfn
Patch series "remove follow_pfn". This series open codes follow_pfn in the only remaining caller, although the code there remains questionable. It then also moves follow_phys into the only user and simplifies it a bit. This patch (of 3): Switch from follow_pfn to follow_pte so that we can get rid of follow_pfn. Note that this doesn't fix any of the pre-existing raciness and lack of permission checking in the code. virt: acrn: replace deprecated strncpy with strscpy
strncpy() is deprecated for use on NUL-terminated destination strings
[1] and as such we should prefer more robust and less ambiguous string
interfaces.
We can see that client->name should be NUL-terminated based on its usage
with a %s C-string format specifier.
| client->thread = kthread_run(ioreq_task, client, "VM%u-%s",
| client->vm->vmid, client->name);
NUL-padding is not required as client is already zero-allocated:
| client = kzalloc(sizeof(*client), GFP_KERNEL);
Considering the above, a suitable replacement is `strscpy` [2] due to
the fact that it guarantees NUL-termination on the destination buffer
without unnecessarily NUL-padding.
Note that this patch relies on the _new_ 2-argument version of strscpy()

virt: efi_secret: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove(). Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. virt: sev-guest: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
Pull unified attestation reporting from Dan Williams:
"In an ideal world there would be a cross-vendor standard attestation
report format for confidential guests along with a common device
definition to act as the transport.
In the real world the situation ended up with multiple platform
vendors inventing their own attestation report formats with the
SEV-SNP implementation being a first mover to define a custom
sev-guest character device and corresponding ioctl(). Later, this
configfs-tsm proposal intercepted an attempt to add a tdx-guest
character device and a corresponding new ioctl(). It also anticipated
ARM and RISC-V showing up with more chardevs and more ioctls().
The proposal takes for granted that Linux tolerates the vendor report
format differentiation until a standard arrives. From talking with
folks involved, it sounds like that standardization work is unlikely
to resolve anytime soon. It also takes the position that kernfs ABIs
are easier to maintain than ioctl(). The result is a shared configfs
mechanism to return per-vendor report-blobs with the option to later
support a standard when that arrives.
Part of the goal here also is to get the community into the
"uncomfortable, but beneficial to the long term maintainability of the
kernel" state of talking to each other about their differentiation and
opportunities to collaborate. Think of this like the device-driver
equivalent of the common memory-management infrastructure for
confidential-computing being built up in KVM.
As for establishing an "upstream path for cross-vendor
confidential-computing device driver infrastructure" this is something
I want to discuss at Plumbers. At present, the multiple vendor
proposals for assigning devices to confidential computing VMs likely
needs a new dedicated repository and maintainer team, but that is a
discussion for v6.8.
For now, Greg and Thomas have acked this approach and this is passing
is AMD, Intel, and Google tests.

- Introduce configfs-tsm as a shared ABI for confidential computing

- Convert sev-guest to additionally support configfs-tsm alongside

virt: tdx-guest: Add Quote generation support using TSM_REPORTS
In TDX guest, the attestation process is used to verify the TDX guest trustworthiness to other entities before provisioning secrets to the guest. The first step in the attestation process is TDREPORT generation, which involves getting the guest measurement data in the format of TDREPORT, which is further used to validate the authenticity of the TDX guest. TDREPORT by design is integrity-protected and can only be verified on the local machine. To support remote verification of the TDREPORT in a SGX-based attestation, the TDREPORT needs to be sent to the SGX Quoting Enclave (QE) to convert it to a remotely verifiable Quote. SGX QE by design can only run outside of the TDX guest (i.e. in a host process or in a normal VM) and guest can use communication channels like vsock or TCP/IP to send the TDREPORT to the QE. But for security concerns, the TDX guest may not support these communication channels. To handle such cases, TDX defines a GetQuote hypercall which can be used by the guest to request the host VMM to communicate with the SGX QE. More details about GetQuote hypercall can be found in TDX Guest-Host Communication Interface (GHCI) for Intel TDX 1.0, section titled "TDG.VP.VMCALL<GetQuote>". Trusted Security Module (TSM) [1] exposes a common ABI for Confidential Computing Guest platforms to get the measurement data via ConfigFS. Extend the TSM framework and add support to allow an attestation agent to get the TDX Quote data (included usage example below). report=/sys/kernel/config/tsm/report/report0 mkdir $report dd if=/dev/urandom bs=64 count=1 > $report/inblob hexdump -C $report/outblob rmdir $report GetQuote TDVMCALL requires TD guest pass a 4K aligned shared buffer with TDREPORT data as input, which is further used by the VMM to copy the TD Quote result after successful Quote generation. To create the shared buffer, allocate a large enough memory and mark it shared using set_memory_decrypted() in tdx_guest_init(). This buffer will be re-used for GetQuote requests in the TDX TSM handler. Although this method reserves a fixed chunk of memory for GetQuote requests, such one time allocation can help avoid memory fragmentation related allocation failures later in the uptime of the guest. Since the Quote generation process is not time-critical or frequently used, the current version uses a polling model for Quote requests and it also does not support parallel GetQuote requests. virt: sevguest: Add TSM_REPORTS support for SNP_GET_EXT_REPORT
The sevguest driver was a first mover in the confidential computing
space. As a first mover that afforded some leeway to build the driver
without concern for common infrastructure.
Now that sevguest is no longer a singleton [1] the common operation of
building and transmitting attestation report blobs can / should be made
common. In this model the so called "TSM-provider" implementations can
share a common envelope ABI even if the contents of that envelope remain
vendor-specific. When / if the industry agrees on an attestation record
format, that definition can also fit in the same ABI. In the meantime
the kernel's maintenance burden is reduced and collaboration on the
commons is increased.
Convert sevguest to use CONFIG_TSM_REPORTS to retrieve the data that
the SNP_GET_EXT_REPORT ioctl produces. An example flow follows for
retrieving the report blob via the TSM interface utility,
assuming no nonce and VMPL==2:
report=/sys/kernel/config/tsm/report/report0
mkdir $report
echo 2 > $report/privlevel
dd if=/dev/urandom bs=64 count=1 > $report/inblob
hexdump -C $report/outblob # SNP report
hexdump -C $report/auxblob # cert_table
rmdir $report
Given that the platform implementation is free to return empty
certificate data if none is available it lets configfs-tsm be simplified
as it only needs to worry about wrapping SNP_GET_EXT_REPORT, and leave
SNP_GET_REPORT alone.
The old ioctls can be lazily deprecated, the main motivation of this
effort is to stop the proliferation of new ioctls, and to increase
cross-vendor collaboration.
