There are only three devicetree fixes this time: one critical memory

b4d961351a firmware: arm_ffa: Fix Endpoint Memory Access Descriptor offset calculation
Use the descriptor's `ep_mem_offset` to calculate the start of the endpoint
memory access array and to comply with the FF-A spec instead of defaulting
to `sizeof(struct ffa_mem_region)`.
This requires moving `ffa_mem_region_additional_setup()` earlier in the setup
flow.
Also, add sanity checks to ensure the calculated descriptor offsets do not
exceed `max_fragsize`.

3383ffb7ef firmware: arm_ffa: Fix out-of-bound writes in ffa_setup_and_transmit()
Sashiko (locally) reports multiple out-of-bound issues in
ffa_setup_and_transmit:
1) Writing ep_mem_access->reserved can write out of bounds for FFA
   versions < 1.2 as ffa_emad_size_get() returns 16 bytes in that case
   while reserved has an offset of 24.
   Instead of zeroing fields, memset the struct to zero first based on
   the FFA version.

2) Make sure there is enough size to write constituents.

While at it, convert the only sizeof() in the driver that uses a
type instead of variable.

8ae5f8e483 firmware: arm_ffa: Fix NULL dereference in ffa_partition_info_get()
ffa_partition_info_get() passes uuid_str directly to uuid_parse()
without a NULL check. When a caller passes NULL, uuid_parse() ->
__uuid_parse() -> uuid_is_valid() dereferences the pointer, causing
a kernel panic:

Add a NULL guard before uuid_parse() so a NULL argument returns

53716a4d74 firmware: arm_ffa: Respect firmware advertised RX/TX buffer size limits
FFA_FEATURES reports the minimum size and alignment boundary required
for RXTX_MAP. In FF-A v1.2 and later it can also report a maximum buffer
size, with zero meaning that no maximum is enforced.

The driver only used the minimum value and then rounded it up to PAGE_SIZE
before invoking RXTX_MAP after commit 83210251fd ("firmware: arm_ffa:
Use the correct buffer size during RXTX_MAP"). On systems where PAGE_SIZE
is larger than the advertised minimum, this can exceed a non-zero maximum
reported by firmware. Older implementations do not advertise a maximum and
may also reject the rounded-up size.

Decode the maximum size and clamp the page-aligned minimum to it when it
is present. If no maximum is advertised and RXTX_MAP rejects the rounded
size with INVALID_PARAMETERS, retry with the advertised minimum size.
Record drv_info->rxtx_bufsz only after RXTX_MAP succeeds so it reflects
the size registered with firmware.

While there, also update RXTX_MAP_MIN_BUFSZ() to use FIELD_GET() for
consistency.

18706ea68f firmware: arm_ffa: Treat missing FF-A feature on a platform as a probe miss
When FF-A initialisation is driven from a platform device probe, systems
that do not implement FF-A can return -EOPNOTSUPP from the early transport
or version discovery paths. Driver core treats that as a matched probe
failure and prints:

That is noisy for a firmware interface that can be absent on otherwise
valid systems. Driver core already treats -ENODEV and -ENXIO as quiet
rejected matches, so translate only the early unsupported discovery cases
to -ENODEV. Keep later setup failures unchanged so real FF-A
initialisation problems are still reported as probe failures.

01b9cae706 firmware: arm_ffa: Honor partition info descriptor size
FFA_PARTITION_INFO_GET_REGS reports the size of each partition
information descriptor in x2[63:48]. However, __ffa_partition_info_get_regs()
walks the returned register payload with a hardcoded 24-byte stride
(regs += 3), even though the size is already read into buf_sz.

That works for the FF-A v1.1/v1.2 24-byte descriptor layout, where each
descriptor consumes three registers. Newer FF-A revisions can extend the
descriptor while keeping the existing fields at the front. For example, a
48-byte descriptor consumes six registers, so advancing by only three
registers desynchronises the parser and can make it read subsequent entries
from the middle of a descriptor.

Use the advertised descriptor size to derive the register stride. Validate
that the size is register-aligned, large enough for the fields parsed by the
driver, and that the requested number of descriptors fits in the returned
x3..x17 register window. The driver still copies only the fields it
understands, but now skips over any trailing descriptor fields correctly.

3acc80a78e firmware: arm_ffa: Defer probe until pKVM is initialized
When protected KVM is enabled, the kernel includes a pKVM FF-A proxy
that sits in front of the normal FF-A driver. The proxy has to perform
its own FF-A version negotiation and setup first, so that it can mediate
subsequent FF-A traffic correctly.

Defer FF-A core probing until pKVM has completed initialization. This
keeps the normal driver from negotiating the FF-A version or performing
other transport setup before the pKVM proxy is ready, and lets the
driver model retry probing once the protected KVM state required by the
FF-A transport is available.

7fe2ec9fb8 firmware: arm_ffa: Set the core device as FF-A device parent
Pass a parent device into ffa_device_register() and use the synthetic
arm-ffa platform device as the parent for each registered FF-A device.

This keeps the enumerated FF-A partition devices anchored below the FF-A
core device in the driver model, matching the platform-driver conversion
of the core transport.

e659fc8e53 firmware: arm_ffa: Register core as a platform driver
Move the FF-A core bring-up and teardown paths into platform driver
probe and remove callbacks, and register a synthetic arm-ffa platform
device to bind the driver.

This makes the FF-A core lifetime follow the driver model while keeping
the device creation internal to the FF-A core. Use normal platform driver
registration so the probe path has standard driver-core semantics.

The synthetic platform device is a temporary bridge until ACPI and
devicetree describe the FF-A core device or object. Once those firmware
description paths are defined, the internal platform device creation can
be dropped and the driver can bind to the firmware-described device
directly.

Since the transport selection now happens from the platform probe path,
drop the __init annotation from ffa_transport_init().

This reverts commit 0e0546eabc, which was
added to address ordering issues with the IMA LSM initialisation where
the TPM would not be fully ready by the time IMA wanted it. This has
been resolved within IMA by retrying setup during late_initcall_sync if
the TPM is not available at first.

a6848a5040 firmware: arm_ffa: Fix sched-recv callback partition lookup
ffa_sched_recv_cb_update() used list_for_each_entry_safe() to search for
a matching partition and then tested the iterator against NULL. That is
not a valid end-of-list check for circular lists and can fall through
with an invalid pointer. Use a normal iterator and detect the not-found
case correctly before touching the partition state.

38290b180a firmware: arm_ffa: Snapshot notifier callbacks under lock
Both notification handlers currently look up a notifier callback under
notify_lock, drop the lock, and then dereference the returned
notifier entry. A concurrent unregister can delete and free that
entry in the gap, leaving the handler to dereference stale memory.

Copy the callback pointer and callback data while notify_lock is
still held and invoke the callback only after the lock is dropped.
This keeps the existing callback execution model while removing the
use-after-free window in both the framework and non-framework
notification paths.

0399e3f872 firmware: arm_ffa: Align RxTx buffer size before mapping
Commit 83210251fd ("firmware: arm_ffa: Use the correct buffer size during
RXTX_MAP") advertises PAGE_ALIGN(rxtx_bufsz) to firmware when mapping the
buffers but the driver continues to stores the minimum FF-A buffer size
in drv_info->rxtx_bufsz which is used elsewhere in the driver.

Align the size before storing it so that the allocation, validation and
FFA_RXTX_MAP all use the same buffer size.

4a1cc9e96b firmware: arm_ffa: Validate framework notification message layout
Framework notifications carry an indirect message in the shared RX
buffer. Validate the reported offset and size before using them, reject
zero-length payloads, and ensure that any non-header payload starts at
the UUID field rather than in the middle of the message header.

Use the validated offset and size values for both kmemdup() and the UUID
parsing path so malformed firmware data cannot drive an out-of-bounds
read or an oversized allocation.

2af18f8e36 firmware: arm_ffa: Keep framework RX release under lock
The framework notification handler drops rx_lock before issuing
FFA_RX_RELEASE, leaving a window where another RX-buffer user can
start a new FF-A transaction before ownership has actually been
returned to firmware.

Move the FFA_RX_RELEASE calls so they execute while rx_lock is still
held on both the kmemdup() failure path and the normal success path.
While doing that, switch the handler to scoped_guard() to keep the
critical section explicit.

For FF-A v1.0 the driver registers a bus notifier to backfill UUID
matching, but the notifier was never unregistered on cleanup paths.
Track the registration state and unregister it during teardown and early
partition-setup failure.

9985d5357e firmware: arm_ffa: Fix per-vcpu self notifications handling in workqueue
Per-vcpu notification handling already runs from a per-cpu work item on
the target cpu. Routing that path back through smp_call_function_single()
re-enters the call-function IPI path and executes the notification
handler with interrupts disabled. That makes the framework path unsafe,
since it takes a mutex, allocates memory with GFP_KERNEL, and invokes
client callbacks.

Handle per-vcpu self notifications directly from the existing per-cpu
work item instead. This keeps the per-vcpu path in task context and
avoids the extra IPI hop entirely.

9b5597af8b firmware: arm_ffa: Avoid collapsing NPI work from different CPUs
Notification pending interrupts are registered as per-CPU IRQs, but the
driver queues all NPI handling through a single shared work_struct.

That allows queue_work_on() calls from different CPUs to collapse onto a
single pending work item even though the work function uses the CPU it
runs on to fetch and handle per-CPU notifications.

Move notif_pcpu_work into the per-CPU ffa_pcpu_irq state and initialize
one work item per CPU. This keeps NPI handling independent per CPU and
avoids losing notifications when multiple CPUs queue work concurrently.

a4e8473b77 firmware: arm_ffa: Remove vm_id argument in ffa_rxtx_unmap()
According to the FF-A specification (DEN0077, v1.1, §13.7), when
FFA_RXTX_UNMAP is invoked from any instance other than non-secure
physical, the w1 register must be zero (MBZ). If a non-zero value is
supplied in this context, the SPMC must return FFA_INVALID_PARAMETER.

The Arm FF-A driver operates exclusively as a guest or non-secure
physical instance where the partition ID is always zero and is not
invoked from a hypervisor context where w1 carries a VM ID. In this
execution model, the partition ID observed by the driver is always zero,
and passing a VM ID is unnecessary and potentially invalid.

Remove the vm_id parameter from ffa_rxtx_unmap() and ensure that the
SMC call is issued with w1 implicitly zeroed, as required by the
specification. This prevents invalid parameter errors and aligns the
implementation with the defined FF-A ABI behavior.

bf4afc53b7 Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argument
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

be4d4543f7 firmware: arm_ffa: Correct 32-bit response handling in NOTIFICATION_INFO_GET
The FF-A specification allows NOTIFICATION_INFO_GET to return either a
64-bit (FFA_FN64_SUCCESS) or a 32-bit (FFA_SUCCESS) response, depending on
whether the firmware chooses the SMC64 or SMC32 calling convention.

The driver previously detected the response format by checking ret.a0, but
still interpreted the returned ID lists (x3..x17 or w3..w7) as if they always
followed the 64-bit SMC64 layout. In the SMC32 case, the upper 32 bits of
each argument register are undefined by the calling convention, meaning the
driver could read stale or garbage values when parsing notification IDs.

This resulted in incorrectly decoded partition/VCPU IDs whenever the FF-A
firmware used an SMC32 return path.

Fix the issue by:

- Introducing logic to map list indices to the correct u16 offsets,
  depending on whether the response width matches the kernel word size
  or is a 32-bit response on a 64-bit kernel.
- Ensuring that the packed ID list is parsed using the proper layout,
  avoiding reads from undefined upper halves in the SMC32 case.

With this change, NOTIFICATION_INFO_GET now correctly interprets ID list
entries regardless of the response width, aligning the driver with the FF-A
specification.

f183b1dda4 firmware: arm_ffa: Tie FF-A version checks to specific features
The FF-A driver currently performs loose comparisons when checking the
supported FF-A feature, which can inadvertently treat future or
intermediate revisions as compatible.

Replace generic `version {>,<} FFA_VERSION_1_*` pattern checks with
feature-specific macros that clearly express which functionality
depends on FF-A versioning.

This improves readability and future maintainability by tying each
feature (e.g. GET_COUNT_ONLY, size/UUID/exec state in responses) to
explicit version requirements instead of relying on generic version
comparisons. This improves robustness and clarity as the FF-A
specification evolves.

No functional change, only improves code readability.

11fb1a82ae firmware: arm_ffa: Add support for IMPDEF value in the memory access descriptor
FF-A v1.2 introduced 16 byte IMPLEMENTATION DEFINED value in the endpoint
memory access descriptor to allow any sender could to specify an its any
custom value for each receiver. Also this value must be specified by the
receiver when retrieving the memory region. The sender must ensure it
informs the receiver of this value via an IMPLEMENTATION DEFINED mechanism
such as a partition message.

So the FF-A driver can use the message interfaces to communicate the value
and set the same in the ffa_mem_region_attributes structures when using
the memory interfaces.

The driver ensure that the size of the endpoint memory access descriptors
is set correctly based on the FF-A version.

0e0546eabc firmware: arm_ffa: Change initcall level of ffa_init() to rootfs_initcall
The Linux IMA (Integrity Measurement Architecture) subsystem used for
secure boot, file integrity, or remote attestation cannot be a loadable
module for few reasons listed below:

 o Boot-Time Integrity: IMA’s main role is to measure and appraise files
 before they are used. This includes measuring critical system files during
 early boot (e.g., init, init scripts, login binaries). If IMA were a
 module, it would be loaded too late to cover those.

 o TPM Dependency: IMA integrates tightly with the TPM to record
 measurements into PCRs. The TPM must be initialized early (ideally before
 init_ima()), which aligns with IMA being built-in.

 o Security Model: IMA is part of a Trusted Computing Base (TCB). Making it
 a module would weaken the security model, as a potentially compromised
 system could delay or tamper with its initialization.

IMA must be built-in to ensure it starts measuring from the earliest
possible point in boot which inturn implies TPM must be initialised and
ready to use before IMA.

To enable integration of tpm_event_log with the IMA subsystem, the TPM
drivers (tpm_crb and tpm_crb_ffa) also needs to be built-in. However with
FF-A driver also being initialised at device initcall level, it can lead to
an initialization order issue where:
 - crb_acpi_driver_init() may run before tpm_crb_ffa_driver()_init and
   ffa_init()
 - As a result, probing the TPM device via CRB over FFA is deferred
 - ima_init() (called as a late initcall) runs before deferred probe
   completes, IMA fails to find the TPM and logs the below error:

   |  ima: No TPM chip found, activating TPM-bypass!

Eventually it fails to generate boot_aggregate with PCR values.

Because of the above stated dependency, the ffa driver needs to initialised
before tpm_crb_ffa module to ensure IMA finds the TPM successfully when
present.

To address this, replace the mutex with an rwlock to protect the notifier

node is properly freed after it is removed from the hashtable entry.

4567bdaaaa firmware: arm_ffa: Skip Rx buffer ownership release if not acquired
Completion of the FFA_PARTITION_INFO_GET ABI transfers the ownership of
the caller’s Rx buffer from the producer(typically partition mnager) to
the consumer(this driver/OS). FFA_RX_RELEASE transfers the ownership
from the consumer back to the producer.

However, when we set the flag to just return the count of partitions
deployed in the system corresponding to the specified UUID while
invoking FFA_PARTITION_INFO_GET, the Rx buffer ownership shouldn't be
transferred to this driver. We must be able to skip transferring back
the ownership to the partition manager when we request just to get the
count of the partitions as the buffers are not acquired in this case.

Firmware may return FFA_RET_DENIED or other error for the ffa_rx_release()
in such cases.

c67c2332f8 firmware: arm_ffa: Skip the first/partition ID when parsing vCPU list
The FF-A notification id list received in response to the call
FFA_NOTIFICATION_INFO_GET is encoded as: partition ID followed by 0 or
more vCPU ID. The count includes all of them.

Fix the issue by skipping the first/partition ID so that only the list
of vCPU IDs are processed correctly for a given partition ID. The first/
partition ID is read before the start of the loop.

3e282f4158 firmware: arm_ffa: Explicitly cast return value from NOTIFICATION_INFO_GET
The return value ret.a2 is of type unsigned long and FFA_RET_NO_DATA is
a negative value.

Since the return value from the firmware can be just 32-bit even on
64-bit systems as FFA specification mentions it as int32 error code in
w0 register, explicitly casting to s32 ensures correct sign interpretation
when comparing against a signed error code FFA_RET_NO_DATA.

Without casting, comparison between unsigned long and a negative
constant could lead to unintended results due to type promotions.

9472fe20d3 firmware: arm_ffa: Handle ffa_notification_get correctly at virtual FF-A instance
Currently it is assumed that the driver always calls ffa_notification_get()
at the NS physical FF-A instance to request the SPMC to return pending
SP or SPM Framework notifications. However, in order to support the driver
invoking ffa_notification_get() at virtual FF-A instance, we need to make
sure correct bits are enabled in the bitmaps enable flag.

It is expected to have hypervisor framework and VM notifications bitmap
to be zero at the non-secure physical FF-A instance.

be61da9385 firmware: arm_ffa: Allow multiple UUIDs per partition to register SRI callback
A partition can implement multiple UUIDs and currently we successfully
register each UUID service as a FF-A device. However when adding the
same partition info to the XArray which tracks the SRI callbacks more
than once, it fails.

In order to allow multiple UUIDs per partition to register SRI callbacks
the partition information stored in the XArray needs to be extended to
a listed list.

A function to remove the list of partition information in the XArray
is not added as there are no users at the time. All the partitions are
added at probe/initialisation and removed at cleanup stage.

285a5ea0f5 firmware: arm_ffa: Add support for handling framework notifications
Currently FF-A specification defines only one framework notification:
RX buffer full notification. This notification is signaled by the
partition manager during transmission of a partition message through
indirect messaging to,

1. Notify an endpoint that it has a pending message in its Rx buffer.
2. Inform the message receiver’s scheduler via the schedule receiver
   interrupt that the receiver must be run.

In response to an FFA_MSG_SEND2 invocation by a sender endpoint, the
framework performs the following actions after the message is copied
from the Tx buffer of the sender to the Rx buffer of the receiver:

1. The notification is pended in the framework notification bitmap of
   the receiver.
2. The partition manager of the endpoint that contains receiver’s
   scheduler pends the schedule receiver interrupt for this endpoint.

The receiver receives the notification and copies out the message from
its Rx buffer.

c10debfe7f firmware: arm_ffa: Add support for {un,}registration of framework notifications
Framework notifications are doorbells that are rung by the partition
managers to signal common events to an endpoint. These doorbells cannot
be rung by an endpoint directly. A partition manager can signal a
Framework notification in response to an FF-A ABI invocation by an
endpoint.

Two additional notify_ops interface is being added for any FF-A device/
driver to register and unregister for such a framework notifications.

a3d73fe8ae firmware: arm_ffa: Stash ffa_device instead of notify_type in notifier_cb_info
Currently, we store the type of the notification in the notifier_cb_info
structure that is put into the hast list to identify if the notification
block is for the secure partition or the non secure VM.

In order to support framework notifications to reuse the hash list and
to avoid creating one for each time, we need store the ffa_device pointer
itself as the same notification ID in framework notifications can be
registered by multiple FF-A devices.

07b760e713 firmware: arm_ffa: Refactoring to prepare for framework notification support
Currently, the framework notifications are not supported at all.
handle_notif_callbacks() doesn't handle them though it is called with
framework bitmap. Make that explicit by adding checks for the same.

Also, we need to further classify the framework notifications as Secure
Partition Manager(SPM) and NonSecure Hypervisor(NS_HYP). Extend/change
notify_type enumeration to accommodate all the 4 type and rejig the
values so that it can be reused in the bitmap enable mask macros.

While at this, move ffa_notify_type_get() so that it can be used in
notifier_hash_node_get() in the future.

No functional change.

efff6a7f16 firmware: arm_ffa: Reject higher major version as incompatible
When the firmware compatibility was handled previously in the commit
8e3f9da608 ("firmware: arm_ffa: Handle compatibility with different firmware versions"),
we only addressed firmware versions that have higher minor versions
compared to the driver version which is should be considered compatible
unless the firmware returns NOT_SUPPORTED.

However, if the firmware reports higher major version than the driver
supported, we need to reject it. If the firmware can work in a compatible
mode with the driver requested version, it must return the same major
version as requested.
