This patch set introces a new action: DAMOS_COLLAPSE.
For DAMOS_HUGEPAGE and DAMOS_NOHUGEPAGE to work, khugepaged should be
working, since it relies on hugepage_madvise to add a new slot. This slot
should be picked up by khugepaged and eventually collapse (or not, if we
are using DAMOS_NOHUGEPAGE) the pages. If THP is not enabled, khugepaged
will not be working, and therefore no collapse will happen.
DAMOS_COLLAPSE eventually calls madvise_collapse, which will collapse the
address range synchronously. In cases where there is a large VMA
(databases, for example), DAMOS_COLLAPSE allows us to collapse only the
hot region, and not the entire VMA.
This new action may be required to support autotuning with hugepage
as a goal[1].

- We can see that DAMOS "hugepage" action works only when THP is set
to madvise. "collapse" action works even when THP is set to never.
- Performance for "collapse" action is slightly lower than "hugepage"
action and THP madvise. This is due to the fact that collapases
occur synchronously. With "hugepage" they may occur during page
faults.
- Memory consumption is slighly lower for "collapse" than "hugepage"
with THP madvise. This is due to the khugepage collapses all VMAs,
while "collapse" action only collapses the VMAs in the hot region.
- There is an improvement in TLB utilization when collapse through
"hugepage" or "collapse" actions are triggered. The amount of
TLB misses is lower.
- "collapse" action is performance synchronously, which means that
page collapses happen earlier and more rapidly. This can be
useful or not, depending on the scenario.
- "hugepage" action may trigger a VMA split in some scenarios, since
it needs to change the flag of the VMA to THP enabled. This may
lead to additional overhead.
Collapse action just adds a new option to chose the correct system
balance.

The current DAMON implementation requires 'min_nr_regions' to be at least
3. However, this constraint is not explicitly documented in the
admin-guide documents, nor is its design rationale explained in the design
document.
Add a section in design.rst to explain the rationale: the virtual address
space monitoring design needs to handle at least three regions to
accommodate two large unmapped areas. While this is specific to 'vaddr',
DAMON currently enforces it across all operation sets for consistency.
Also update reclaim.rst and lru_sort.rst by adding cross-references to
this constraint within their respective 'min_nr_regions' parameter
description sections, ensuring users are aware of the lower bound.

MADV_HUGEPAGE and MADV_NOHUGEPAGE are guarded and they are not available
when compiling the kernel without TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE option. The DAMON
behaviour is to silently fail [1] in when DAMOS_HUGEPAGE or
DAMOS_NOHUGEPAGE are used, but TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE is disabled. Update
the DAMON documentation to reflect this behaviour.

-EBUSY if another is already running.

The min_region_sz is set as max(DAMON_MIN_REGION_SZ / addr_unit, 1).
DAMON_MIN_REGION_SZ is the same to PAGE_SIZE, and addr_unit is what the
user can arbitrarily set. Commit c80f46ac22 ("mm/damon/core: disallow
non-power of two min_region_sz") made min_region_sz to always be a power
of two. Hence, addr_unit should be a power of two when it is smaller than
PAGE_SIZE. While 'addr_unit' is a user-exposed parameter, the rule is not
documented. This can confuse users. Specifically, if the user sets
addr_unit as a value that is smaller than PAGE_SIZE and not a power of
two, the setup will explicitly fail.
Document the rule on the design document. Usage documents reference the
design document for detail, so updating only the design document should
suffice.

The DAMON performance tests [1] use PARSEC 3.0 as its major test
workloads. But the official web site for PARSEC 3.0 has gone, so there is
no easy way to get the benchmark. Mainly due to the fact, DAMON
performance tests are difficult to run, and effectively broken. Do not
request running it for now. Instead, suggest running any benchmarks or
real world workloads that make sense for performance changes.

Update DAMON documentations for wordsmithing, clarifications, and
miscellaneous outdated things with eight patches. Patch 1 simplifies the
brief introduction of DAMON. Patch 2 updates DAMON user-space tool
packaged distros information on design doc to include not only Fedora, but
refer to repology. Three following patches update design and usage
documents for clarifying DAMON sample modules purposes (patch 3), and
outdated information about usages of DAMON modules (patches 4 and 5).
Final three patches update usage and maintainer-profile for sysfs
refresh_ms feature behavior (patch 6), synchronize DAMON MAINTAINERS
section name (patch 7), and broken damon-tests performance tests (patch
8).

DAMON community meetup was having two different kinds of meetups:
reservation required ones and unrequired ones. Now the reservation
unrequested one is gone, but the documentation on the maintainer-profile
is not updated. Update.

DAMON was initially developed only for data access monitoring, and then
extended for not only access monitoring but also access-aware system
operations (DAMOS). But the documents have old titles and brief
introductions for only the monitoring part. Update the titles and the
brief introductions to explain DAMOS part together.

On what DAMON layer a DAMOS filter is handled is important to expect in
what order filters will be evaluated. Re-organize the DAMOS filter types
list on the design doc to categorize types based on the handling layer, to
let users more easily understand the handling order.

If an element of memory matches a DAMOS filter, filters that installed
after that get no chance to make any effect to the element. Hence in what
order DAMOS filters are handled is important, if both allow filters and
reject filters are used together.
The ordering is affected by both the installation order and which layter
the filters are handled. The design document is not clearly documenting
the latter part. Clarify it on the design doc.

DAMON sysfs usage doc is describing DAMOS filter type names and their
meanings in short. The design doc is providing the short meaning and
detailed descriptions, too. This is unnecessary duplicates and confuses
where to document new DAMOS filter types and features. Move the details
from usage to design doc.

Fix and improve DAMOS filters documentation by fixing a copy-paste typo,
adding hugepage_size filter documentation on design doc, moving logic
details from usage to design, clarify DAMOS filters handling sequence

Add a DAMON monitoring intervals tuning example that contains output from
a demonstration of the guide on a real server workload system. The
example with real world numbers will help users better understanding the
guide instructions and what outputs they can expect and verify. Those
will again help finding the rooms for improvements on the guide.
