Currently, while four timers are set up during port multicast context
initialization, only two are synchronously deleted when the context is
de-initialized, just before being deleted.
This is fine because the structure containing the multicast context
(either a bridge port or a VLAN) is only deleted after an RCU grace
period and it will not pass as long as the timers are executing. These
timers are also not supposed to do any work at this stage. They acquire
the bridge multicast lock, see that the multicast context was disabled
and exit.
Make the code more explicit and symmetric and synchronously shutdown all
four timers when the multicast context is de-initialized. Use
timer_shutdown_sync() to guarantee that the timers will not be re-armed
given that the containing structure is being deleted.

port_cost() calls __ethtool_get_link_ksettings() on the port device,
which will soon take the port's ops lock. br_port_carrier_check()
is reached via the NETDEV_CHANGE notifier from linkwatch, which
already holds the port's ops lock, so the call would deadlock.
Make port_cost() expect the port's ops lock held and switch to

The ebtables SNAT target keeps the Ethernet source address rewrite
behind skb_ensure_writable(skb, 0). This is intentional: at the bridge
ebtables hooks the Ethernet header is addressed through
skb_mac_header()/eth_hdr(), while skb->data points at the Ethernet
payload. Asking skb_ensure_writable() for ETH_HLEN bytes would check
the payload, not the Ethernet header, and would reintroduce the small
packet regression fixed by commit 63137bc588.
However, the optional ARP sender hardware address rewrite is different.
It writes through skb_store_bits() at an offset relative to skb->data:
skb_store_bits(skb, sizeof(struct arphdr), info->mac, ETH_ALEN)
skb_header_pointer() only safely reads the ARP header; it does not make
the later sender hardware address range writable. If that range is
still held in a nonlinear skb fragment backed by a splice-imported file
page, skb_store_bits() maps the frag page and copies the new MAC address
directly into it.
Ensure the ARP SHA range is writable before reading the ARP header and
before calling skb_store_bits().

Since the start of the git history, brport_store() always acquired the
bridge lock. Back then this decision made sense: The bridge lock
protects the STP state of the bridge and its ports and at that time the
function was only used by two STP related attributes (cost and
priority).
Nowadays, brport_store() processes a lot more attributes and most of
them do not need the bridge lock:
* Bridge flags: Only require RTNL. Read locklessly by the data path.
Annotations can be added in net-next.
* FDB port flushing: Only requires the FDB lock.
* Multicast attributes: Only require the multicast lock.
* Group forward mask: Only requires RTNL. Read locklessly by the data
path. Annotations can be added in net-next.
* Backup port: Only requires RTNL. Read locklessly by the data path.
This is a problem as the bridge calls dev_set_promiscuity() when certain
bridge port flags change and this function can sleep since the commit
cited below, resulting in a splat such as [1].
Fix this by reducing the scope of the bridge lock and only take it when
processing the two STP related attributes that require it. Remove the
now stale comment from br_switchdev_set_port_flag(). The
SWITCHDEV_F_DEFER flag can be removed in net-next.

Luxiao Xu says:
The function compat_mtw_from_user() converts ebtables extensions from
32-bit user structures to kernel native structures. However, it lacks
proper validation of the user-supplied match_size/target_size.
When certain extensions are processed, the kernel-side translation
logic may perform memory accesses based on the extension's expected
size. If the user provides a size smaller than what the extension
requires, it results in an out-of-bounds read as reported by KASAN.
This fix introduces a check to ensure match_size is at least as large
as the extension's required compatsize. This covers matches, watchers,
and targets, while maintaining compatibility with standard targets.
AFAIU this is relevant for matches that need to go though
match->compat_from_user() call. Those that use plain memcpy with the
user-provided size are ok because the caller checks that size vs the
start of the next rule entry offset (which itself is checked vs. total
size copied from userspace).
The ->compat_from_user() callbacks assume they can read compatsize bytes,
so they need this extra check.
Based on an earlier patch from Luxiao Xu.

When per-VLAN multicast snooping is enabled, the bridge iterates over
all the bridge ports, disables the per-port multicast context on each
port and enables the per-{port, VLAN} multicast contexts instead. The
reverse happens when per-VLAN multicast snooping is disabled.
When global multicast snooping is enabled, the bridge iterates over all
the bridge ports and enables the per-port multicast context on each
port. The reverse happens when multicast snooping is disabled.
The above scheme can result in a situation where both types of contexts
(per-port and per-{port, VLAN}) are enabled on a single bridge port:
# ip link add name br1 up type bridge mcast_snooping 1 mcast_querier 1 vlan_filtering 1
# ip link add name dummy1 up master br1 type dummy
# ip link set dev br1 type bridge mcast_vlan_snooping 1
# ip link set dev br1 type bridge mcast_snooping 0
# ip link set dev br1 type bridge mcast_snooping 1
This is not intended and it is a problem since the commit cited below.
Prior to this commit, when removing a bridge port,
br_multicast_disable_port() would disable the per-port multicast context
and the per-{port, VLAN} multicast contexts would get disabled when
flushing VLANs.
After this commit, br_multicast_disable_port() only disables the
per-port multicast context if per-VLAN multicast snooping is disabled.
If both types of contexts were enabled on the port when it was removed,
the per-port multicast context would remain enabled when freeing the
bridge port, leading to a use-after-free [1].
Fix by preventing the bridge from enabling / disabling the per-port
multicast contexts when toggling global multicast snooping if per-VLAN
multicast snooping is enabled.

The existing neighbor suppression unconditionally suppresses gratuitous
ARPs and unsolicited Neighbor Advertisements, which prevents fast
mobility of hosts between VTEPs.
Add the neigh_forward_grat option to allow selective control of gratuitous
neighbor announcements. When neigh_suppress is enabled but
neigh_forward_grat is disabled (default), gratuitous announcements are
suppressed. When neigh_forward_grat is enabled, gratuitous announcements
are forwarded while regular neighbor discovery remains suppressed.
The implementation provides per-output-port control by:
1. Adding a 'grat_arp' flag to BR_INPUT_SKB_CB to mark gratuitous ARPs and
unsolicited NAs.
2. Setting both grat_arp and proxyarp_replied flags in
br_do_proxy_suppress_arp() and br_do_suppress_nd() when gratuitous
packets are detected.
3. Checking neigh_forward_grat per output port during flooding:
- For gratuitous ARPs/NAs: suppress unless the output port has
neigh_forward_grat enabled.
- For regular ARPs/NDs: maintain existing behavior.
This allows gratuitous announcements from any input port to be selectively
forwarded based on each output port's individual neigh_forward_grat
setting, enabling gratuitous neighbor announcements to be flooded to the
VXLAN fabric.
Regular neighbor discovery (ARP requests, NS queries, solicited replies)
remains controlled by neigh_suppress and is unaffected.

In MLD, MRC and QQIC fields are not correctly encoded when
generating query packets. Since the receiver of the query
interprets these fields using the MLDv2 floating-point
decoding logic, any value that exceeds the linear threshold
is incorrectly parsed as an exponential value, leading to
an incorrect interval calculation.
Encode and assign the corresponding protocol fields during

calculate the exponent and mantissa using bit-scan (fls).

When neighbor suppression is enabled on a VXLAN port, the bridge is
expected to reply to ARP/NS messages on behalf of remote hosts when both
FDB and neighbor entries exist. This allows the bridge to suppress
flooding of these messages to the VXLAN overlay.
According to RFC 9161 ("Operational Aspects of Proxy ARP/ND in Ethernet
Virtual Private Networks"):
"A PE SHOULD reply to broadcast/multicast address resolution messages,
i.e., ARP Requests, ARP probes, NS messages, as well as DAD NS messages.
An ARP probe is an ARP Request constructed with an all-zero sender IP
address that may be used by hosts for IPv4 Address Conflict Detection as
specified in [RFC5227]".
However, the current implementation unconditionally suppresses ARP probes
and DAD Neighbor Solicitations, which breaks Duplicate Address Detection
(DAD) over EVPN.
For DAD to work correctly over the VXLAN fabric:
- When the bridge does not know the answer:
flood the probe/DAD packet to allow remote VTEPs to respond.
- When the bridge knows the answer:
reply to indicate the address is in use.
Fix by adjusting the early suppression checks to exclude ARP probes and
DAD NS from unconditional suppression.
When replying to a DAD NS, br_nd_send() is adjusted to set the NA
destination to the all-nodes multicast address (ff02::1) and clear the
Solicited flag, in accordance with RFC 4861 section 7.2.4.

Local FDB entries can be rewritten in place by `fdb_delete_local()`, which
updates `f->dst` to another port or to `NULL` while keeping the entry
alive. Several bridge RCU readers inspect `f->dst`, including
`br_fdb_fillbuf()` through the `brforward_read()` sysfs path.
These readers currently load `f->dst` multiple times and can therefore
observe inconsistent values across the check and later dereference.
In `br_fdb_fillbuf()`, this means a concurrent local-FDB update can change
`f->dst` after the NULL check and before the `port_no` dereference,
leading to a NULL-ptr-deref.
Fix this by taking a single `READ_ONCE()` snapshot of `f->dst` in each
affected RCU reader and using that snapshot for the rest of the access
sequence. Also publish the in-place `f->dst` updates in `fdb_delete_local()`
with `WRITE_ONCE()` so the readers and writer use matching access patterns.

The bridge-stp usermode helper is currently restricted to the initial
network namespace, preventing userspace STP daemons (e.g. mstpd) from
operating on bridges in other network namespaces. Since commit
ff62198553 ("bridge: Only call /sbin/bridge-stp for the initial
network namespace"), bridges in non-init namespaces silently fall
back to kernel STP with no way to use userspace STP.
Add a new bridge attribute IFLA_BR_STP_MODE that allows explicit
per-bridge control over STP mode selection:
BR_STP_MODE_AUTO (default) - Existing behavior: invoke the
/sbin/bridge-stp helper in init_net only; fall back to kernel STP
if it fails or in non-init namespaces.
BR_STP_MODE_USER - Directly enable userspace STP (BR_USER_STP)
without invoking the helper. Works in any network namespace.
Userspace is responsible for ensuring an STP daemon manages the
bridge.
BR_STP_MODE_KERNEL - Directly enable kernel STP (BR_KERNEL_STP)
without invoking the helper.
The mode can only be changed while STP is disabled, or set to the
same value (-EBUSY otherwise). IFLA_BR_STP_MODE is processed before
IFLA_BR_STP_STATE in br_changelink(), so both can be set atomically
in a single netlink message. The mode can also be changed in the
same message that disables STP.
The stp_mode struct field is u8 since all possible values fit, while
NLA_U32 is used for the netlink attribute since it occupies the same
space in the netlink message as NLA_U8.
A new stp_helper_active boolean tracks whether the /sbin/bridge-stp
helper was invoked during br_stp_start(), so that br_stp_stop() only
calls the helper for stop when it was called for start. This avoids
calling the helper asymmetrically when stp_mode changes between
start and stop.

br_mrp_start_test() and br_mrp_start_in_test() accept the user-supplied
interval value from netlink without validation. When interval is 0,
usecs_to_jiffies(0) yields 0, causing the delayed work
(br_mrp_test_work_expired / br_mrp_in_test_work_expired) to reschedule
itself with zero delay. This creates a tight loop on system_percpu_wq
that allocates and transmits MRP test frames at maximum rate, exhausting
all system memory and causing a kernel panic via OOM deadlock.
The same zero-interval issue applies to br_mrp_start_in_test_parse()
for interconnect test frames.
Use NLA_POLICY_MIN(NLA_U32, 1) in the nla_policy tables for both
IFLA_BRIDGE_MRP_START_TEST_INTERVAL and
IFLA_BRIDGE_MRP_START_IN_TEST_INTERVAL, so zero is rejected at the
netlink attribute parsing layer before the value ever reaches the
workqueue scheduling code. This is consistent with how other bridge
subsystems (br_fdb, br_mst) enforce range constraints on netlink
attributes.

Maintaining a modular IPv6 stack offers image size savings for specific
setups, this benefit is outweighed by the architectural burden it
imposes on the subsystems on implementation and maintenance. Therefore,
drop it.
Change CONFIG_IPV6 from tristate to bool. Remove all Kconfig
dependencies across the tree that explicitly checked for IPV6=m. In
addition, remove MODULE_DESCRIPTION(), MODULE_ALIAS(), MODULE_AUTHOR()

This is also replacing module_init() by device_initcall(). It is not
possible to use fs_initcall() as IPv4 does because that creates a race
condition on IPv6 addrconf.
Finally, modify the default configs from CONFIG_IPV6=m to CONFIG_IPV6=y
except for m68k as according to the bloat-o-meter the image is
increasing by 330KB~ and that isn't acceptable. Instead, disable IPv6 on

ccm_rx_dwork via ccm_rx_timer_start() between cancel_delayed_work_sync()
returning and kfree_rcu() being called.
The following is a simple race scenario:
cpu0 cpu1
mep_delete_implementation()
cancel_delayed_work_sync(ccm_rx_dwork);
br_cfm_frame_rx()
// peer_mep still in hlist
if (peer_mep->ccm_defect)
ccm_rx_timer_start()
queue_delayed_work(ccm_rx_dwork)
hlist_del_rcu(&peer_mep->head);
kfree_rcu(peer_mep, rcu);
ccm_rx_work_expired()
// on freed peer_mep
To prevent this, cancel_delayed_work_sync() is replaced with
disable_delayed_work_sync() in both peer MEP deletion paths, so
that subsequent queue_delayed_work() calls from br_cfm_frame_rx()
are silently rejected.
The cc_peer_disable() helper retains cancel_delayed_work_sync()
because it is also used for the CC enable/disable toggle path where
the work must remain re-schedulable.

When booting with the 'ipv6.disable=1' parameter, the nd_tbl is never
initialized because inet6_init() exits before ndisc_init() is called
which initializes it. Then, if neigh_suppress is enabled and an ICMPv6
Neighbor Discovery packet reaches the bridge, br_do_suppress_nd() will
dereference ipv6_stub->nd_tbl which is NULL, passing it to
neigh_lookup(). This causes a kernel NULL pointer dereference.

The br_vlan_opts_eq_range() function determines if consecutive VLANs can
be grouped together in a range for compact netlink notifications. It
currently checks state, tunnel info, and multicast router configuration,
but misses two categories of per-VLAN options that affect the output:
1. User-visible priv_flags (neigh_suppress, mcast_enabled)
2. Port multicast context (mcast_max_groups, mcast_n_groups)
When VLANs have different settings for these options, they are incorrectly
grouped into ranges, causing netlink notifications to report only one
VLAN's settings for the entire range.
Fix by checking priv_flags equality, but only for flags that affect netlink
output (BR_VLFLAG_NEIGH_SUPPRESS_ENABLED and BR_VLFLAG_MCAST_ENABLED),
and comparing multicast context (mcast_max_groups and mcast_n_groups).
Example showing the bugs before the fix:
$ bridge vlan set vid 10 dev dummy1 neigh_suppress on
$ bridge vlan set vid 11 dev dummy1 neigh_suppress off
$ bridge -d vlan show dev dummy1
port vlan-id
dummy1 10-11
... neigh_suppress on
$ bridge vlan set vid 10 dev dummy1 mcast_max_groups 100
$ bridge vlan set vid 11 dev dummy1 mcast_max_groups 200
$ bridge -d vlan show dev dummy1
port vlan-id
dummy1 10-11
... mcast_max_groups 100
After the fix, VLANs 10 and 11 are shown as separate entries with their
correct individual settings.

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

syzbot triggered a warning[1] about the number of mdb entries in a context.
It turned out that there are multiple ways to trigger that warning today
(some got added during the years), the root cause of the problem is that
the increase is done conditionally, and over the years these different
conditions increased so there were new ways to trigger the warning, that is
to do a decrease which wasn't paired with a previous increase.
For example one way to trigger it is with flush:
$ ip l add br0 up type bridge vlan_filtering 1 mcast_snooping 1
$ ip l add dumdum up master br0 type dummy
$ bridge mdb add dev br0 port dumdum grp 239.0.0.1 permanent vid 1
$ ip link set dev br0 down
$ ip link set dev br0 type bridge mcast_vlan_snooping 1
^^^^ this will enable snooping, but will not update mdb_n_entries
because in __br_multicast_enable_port_ctx() we check !netif_running
$ bridge mdb flush dev br0
^^^ this will trigger the warning because it will delete the pg which
we added above, which will try to decrease mdb_n_entries
Fix the problem by removing the conditional increase and always keep the
count up-to-date while the vlan exists. In order to do that we have to
first initialize it on port-vlan context creation, and then always increase
or decrease the value regardless of mcast options. To keep the current
behaviour we have to enforce the mdb limit only if the context is port's or
if the port-vlan's mcast snooping is enabled.

The next commits will transition away from using the hop-by-hop
extension header to encode packet length for BIG TCP. Add wrappers
around ip6->payload_len that return the actual value if it's non-zero,
and calculate it from skb->len if payload_len is set to zero (and a
symmetrical setter).
The new helpers are used wherever the surrounding code supports the
hop-by-hop jumbo header for BIG TCP IPv6, or the corresponding IPv4 code
uses skb_ip_totlen (e.g., in include/net/netfilter/nf_tables_ipv6.h).

netfilter: updates for net
The following patchset contains Netfilter fixes for *net*:
1) Fix overlap detection for nf_tables with concatenated ranges.
There are cases where element could not be added due to a conflict
with existing range, while kernel reports success to userspace.
2) update selftest to cover this bug.
3) synproxy update path should use READ/WRITE once as we replace

This relies on said config struct to fit sizeof(long).

When using an 802.1ad bridge with vlan_tunnel, the C-VLAN tag is
incorrectly stripped from frames during egress processing.
br_handle_egress_vlan_tunnel() uses skb_vlan_pop() to remove the S-VLAN
from hwaccel before VXLAN encapsulation. However, skb_vlan_pop() also
moves any "next" VLAN from the payload into hwaccel:
/* move next vlan tag to hw accel tag */
__skb_vlan_pop(skb, &vlan_tci);
__vlan_hwaccel_put_tag(skb, vlan_proto, vlan_tci);
For QinQ frames where the C-VLAN sits in the payload, this moves it to
hwaccel where it gets lost during VXLAN encapsulation.
Fix by calling __vlan_hwaccel_clear_tag() directly, which clears only
the hwaccel S-VLAN and leaves the payload untouched.
This path is only taken when vlan_tunnel is enabled and tunnel_info
is configured, so 802.1Q bridges are unaffected.
Tested with 802.1ad bridge + VXLAN vlan_tunnel, verified C-VLAN
preserved in VXLAN payload via tcpdump.

The -EEXIST error code is reserved by the module loading infrastructure
to indicate that a module is already loaded. When a module's init
function returns -EEXIST, userspace tools like kmod interpret this as
"module already loaded" and treat the operation as successful, returning
0 to the user even though the module initialization actually failed.
Replace -EEXIST with -EBUSY to ensure correct error reporting in the module
initialization path.

syzbot reported[1] a use-after-free when deleting an expired fdb. It is
due to a race condition between learning still happening and a port being
deleted, after all its fdbs have been flushed. The port's state has been
toggled to disabled so no learning should happen at that time, but if we
have MST enabled, it will bypass the port's state, that together with VLAN
filtering disabled can lead to fdb learning at a time when it shouldn't
happen while the port is being deleted. VLAN filtering must be disabled
because we flush the port VLANs when it's being deleted which will stop
learning. This fix adds a check for the port's vlan group which is
initialized to NULL when the port is getting deleted, that avoids the port
state bypass. When MST is enabled there would be a minimal new overhead
in the fast-path because the port's vlan group pointer is cache-hot.

When forwarding multicast packets, the bridge takes MDB into account when
IGMP / MLD snooping is enabled. Currently, when snooping is disabled, the
MDB is retained, even though it is not used anymore.
At the same time, during the time that snooping is disabled, the IGMP / MLD
control packets are obviously ignored, and after the snooping is reenabled,
the administrator has to assume it is out of sync. In particular, missed
join and leave messages would lead to traffic being forwarded to wrong
interfaces.
Keeping the MDB entries around thus serves no purpose, and just takes
memory. Note also that disabling per-VLAN snooping does actually flush the
relevant MDB entries.
This patch flushes non-permanent MDB entries as global snooping is
disabled.

By switching to the new helper netdev_compute_master_upper_features(), the bridge

Currently, after the bridge is created, the FDB does not hold an FDB entry
for the bridge MAC on VLAN 0:
# ip link add name br up type bridge
# ip -br link show dev br
br UNKNOWN 92:19:8c:4e:01:ed <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP>
# bridge fdb show | grep 92:19:8c:4e:01:ed
92:19:8c:4e:01:ed dev br vlan 1 master br permanent
Later when the bridge MAC is changed, or in fact when the address is given
during netdevice creation, the entry appears:
# ip link add name br up address 00:11:22:33:44:55 type bridge
# bridge fdb show | grep 00:11:22:33:44:55
00:11:22:33:44:55 dev br vlan 1 master br permanent
00:11:22:33:44:55 dev br master br permanent
However when the bridge address is set by the user to the current bridge
address before the first port is enslaved, none of the address handlers
gets invoked, because the address is not actually changed. The address is
however marked as NET_ADDR_SET. Then when a port is enslaved, the address
is not changed, because it is NET_ADDR_SET. Thus the VLAN 0 entry is not
added, and it has not been added previously either:
# ip link add name br up type bridge
# ip -br link show dev br
br UNKNOWN 7e:f0:a8:1a:be:c2 <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP>
# ip link set dev br addr 7e:f0:a8:1a:be:c2
# ip link add name v up type veth
# ip link set dev v master br
# ip -br link show dev br
br UNKNOWN 7e:f0:a8:1a:be:c2 <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP>
# bridge fdb | grep 7e:f0:a8:1a:be:c2
7e:f0:a8:1a:be:c2 dev br vlan 1 master br permanent
Then when the bridge MAC is used as DMAC, and br_handle_frame_finish()
looks up an FDB entry with VLAN=0, it doesn't find any, and floods the
traffic instead of passing it up.
Fix this by simply adding the VLAN 0 FDB entry for the bridge itself always
on netdevice creation. This also makes the behavior consistent with how
ports are treated: ports always have an FDB entry for each member VLAN as
well as VLAN 0.

Currently if a user enqueue a work item using schedule_delayed_work() the
used wq is "system_wq" (per-cpu wq) while queue_delayed_work() use
WORK_CPU_UNBOUND (used when a cpu is not specified). The same applies to
schedule_work() that is using system_wq and queue_work(), that makes use
again of WORK_CPU_UNBOUND.
This lack of consistentcy cannot be addressed without refactoring the API.
system_unbound_wq should be the default workqueue so as not to enforce
locality constraints for random work whenever it's not required.
Adding system_dfl_wq to encourage its use when unbound work should be used.
The old system_unbound_wq will be kept for a few release cycles.

port's address, and that on VLAN 0. Thus bail out of the delete loop early.
For the same reason, also skip adding the per-VLAN entries.

When BROPT_FDB_LOCAL_VLAN_0 is enabled, the local FDB entries for the
member ports as well as the bridge itself should not be created per-VLAN,
but instead only on VLAN 0.
That means that br_handle_frame_finish() needs to make two lookups: the
primary lookup on an appropriate VLAN, and when that misses, a lookup on
VLAN 0.
Have the second lookup only accept local MAC addresses. Turning this into a
generic second-lookup feature is not the goal.

The following patches will gradually introduce the ability of the bridge
to look up local FDB entries on VLAN 0 instead of using the VLAN indicated
by a packet.
In this patch, just introduce the option itself, with which the feature
will be linked.

Remove array_size() calls and replace vmalloc() with vmalloc_array() to
simplify the code. vmalloc_array() is also optimized better, uses fewer
instructions, and handles overflow more concisely[1].

When send a broadcast packet to a tap device, which was added to a bridge,
br_nf_local_in() is called to confirm the conntrack. If another conntrack
with the same hash value is added to the hash table, which can be
triggered by a normal packet to a non-bridge device, the below warning
may happen.

To solve the hash conflict, nf_ct_resolve_clash() try to merge the
conntracks, and update skb->_nfct. However, br_nf_local_in() still use the
old ct from local variable 'nfct' after confirm(), which leads to this
warning.
If confirm() does not insert the conntrack entry and return NF_DROP, the
warning may also occur. There is no need to reserve the WARN_ON_ONCE, just
remove it.
