368cf60c36 soc: drivers for 7.3
The SoC driver changes once more consist of many small fixes and
cleanups, that are to a large part the result of automated testing. On
platform specific drivers, this includes SoC specific code for xilinx,
freescale/nxp, qualcomm, TI, aspeed, omap, tegra, samsung, rockchip,
renesas, ixp4xx. In firmware drivers, we see a similar picture for
 SCMI and qcomtee.

Aside from these, we see actual new hardware support in a few
 areas:

  - The Apple platform gets a new driver for low power states

  - Updates to Qualcomm platform drivers add several new
hardware specific features and additional SoCs.

  - Amlogic SoC support for A1 and T7 is added

  - The Mediatek MMSYS driver is refactored as a cleanup.

244b7f86d6 soc: aspeed: add missing MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE()
The driver has an OF match table wired to .of_match_table, but does
not export the table with MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE().

Add the missing MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE(of, ...) entry so module alias
information is generated for OF based module autoloading.

This is a source-level fix. It does not claim dynamic hardware
reproduction; the evidence is the driver-owned match table, its use by
the platform driver, and the missing module alias publication.

1acef6d85b soc: aspeed: lpc-snoop: Fix usercopy overflow in snoop_file_read
put_fifo_with_discard() acts as both producer and consumer on the kfifo:
it calls kfifo_skip() (advances out) and kfifo_put() (advances in) from
the IRQ handler without synchronizing with snoop_file_read(), which also
consumes via kfifo_to_user(). On SMP systems this concurrent access can
leave (in - out) larger than the ring buffer, so __kfifo_to_user()'s clamp
to (in - out) is ineffective and kfifo_copy_to_user() can attempt a
copy_to_user() past the kmalloc-2k backing store:

usercopy: Kernel memory exposure attempt detected from SLUB object
  'kmalloc-2k' (offset 0, size 2049)!

Serialize kfifo access with a per-channel spinlock shared between the
IRQ handler (producer) and the file reader (consumer). Annotate @fifo
with __guarded_by(&lock) and opt the driver into context analysis so the
compiler enforces that all fifo access holds the lock.

By convention MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() immediately follows the ID table it
exports, because this is easier to read and verify. It also makes more
sense since #ifdef for ACPI or OF could hide both of them.

Most of the privers already have this correctly placed, so adjust

7ec1bd3d9b soc: aspeed: socinfo: Mask table entries for accurate SoC ID matching
The siliconid_to_name() function currently masks the input silicon ID
with 0xff00ffff, but compares it against unmasked table entries. This
causes matching to fail if the table entries contain non-zero values in
the bits covered by the mask (bits 16-23).

Update the logic to apply the 0xff00ffff mask to the table entries
during comparison. This ensures that only the relevant model and
revision bits are considered, providing a consistent match across
different manufacturing batches.

bf4afc53b7 Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argument
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

    git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
        xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

69050f8d6d treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar types
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

c5313eea3e soc: aspeed: Use of_reserved_mem_region_to_resource() for "memory-region"
Use the newly added of_reserved_mem_region_to_resource() function to
handle "memory-region" properties.

The error handling is a bit different. "memory-region" is optional, so
failed lookup is not an error. But then an error in
of_address_to_resource() is treated as an error. However, that
distinction is not really important. Either the region is available
and usable or it is not. So now, it is just
of_reserved_mem_region_to_resource() which is checked for an error.

Previously, channel initialisation was a bit perilous with respect to
resource cleanup in error paths. While the implementation had issues,
it at least made an effort to eliminate some of its problems by first
testing whether any channels were enabled, and bailing out if not.

Having improved the robustness of resource handling in probe() we can
now rearrange the initial channel test to be located with the subsequent
test, and rework the unrolled conditional logic to use a loop for an
improvement in readability.

Convert all platform drivers below drivers/soc to use .remove(), with

0af9e89106 soc/aspeed: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart
from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks.
To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return
void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to
.remove_new() which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers
are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove().

Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.

soc: aspeed: Explicitly include correct DT includes
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

5ffa828534 soc: aspeed: fix a ternary sign expansion bug
The intent here was to return negative error codes but it actually
returns positive values. The problem is that type promotion with
ternary operations is quite complicated.

"ret" is an int. "copied" is a u32. And the snoop_file_read() function
returns long. What happens is that "ret" is cast to u32 and becomes
positive then it's cast to long and it's still positive.

Fix this by removing the ternary so that "ret" is type promoted directly
to long.

3f94cf1558 soc: aspeed: snoop: Add clock control logic
If LPC SNOOP driver is registered ahead of lpc-ctrl module, LPC
SNOOP block will be enabled without heart beating of LCLK until
lpc-ctrl enables the LCLK. This issue causes improper handling on
host interrupts when the host sends interrupt in that time frame.
Then kernel eventually forcibly disables the interrupt with
dumping stack and printing a 'nobody cared this irq' message out.

To prevent this issue, all LPC sub-nodes should enable LCLK
individually so this patch adds clock control logic into the LPC
SNOOP driver.

  b) 7 spaces + '---help---'
  c) 8 spaces + '---help---'
  d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---'
  e) 1 tab + '---help---' (correct indentation)
  f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---'
  g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---'

In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the
following commend:

  $ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/'
