99ef60d119 USB / Thunderbolt changes for 7.1-rc1
Here is the big set of USB and Thunderbolt changes for 7.1-rc1.

Lots of little things in here, nothing major, just constant
improvements, updates, and new features. Highlights are:
   - new USB power supply driver support (will cause merge conflicts in
drivers/power/supply/Makefile, but it's a simple fix) These changes
did touch outside of drivers/usb/ but got acks from the relevant
     mantainers for them.
   - dts file updates and conversions
   - string function conversions into "safer" ones
   - new device quirks
   - xhci driver updates
   - usb gadget driver minor fixes
   - typec driver additions and updates
   - small number of thunderbolt driver changes
   - dwc3 driver updates and additions of new hardware support
   - other minor driver updates

All of these have been in the linux-next tree for a while with no
 reported issues

70d7dd27f6 power: supply: max77759: add charger driver
Add support for MAX77759 battery charger driver. This is a 4A 1-Cell
Li+/LiPoly dual input switch mode charger. While the device can support
USB & wireless charger inputs, this implementation only supports USB
input. This implementation supports both buck and boost modes.

For the ease of review and to do a step-by-step approach remove all the
coloumb counter related stuff and do not sneak in BD71827 support. That
also avoids non-trivial rebasing of the above series.

Changes besides that:
Replace the custom property by a standard one and do not use megaohms
for the current sense resistor.

8c5795fe55 power: supply: Add new Intel Dollar Cove TI battery driver
Intel has 2 completely different "Dollar Cove" PMICs for its Bay Trail /
Cherry Trail SoCs. One is made by X-Powers and is called the AXP288.

The AXP288's builtin charger and fuel-gauge functions are already
supported by the axp288_charger / axp288_fuel_gauge drivers.

The other "Dollar Cove" PMIC is made by TI and does not have any clear TI
denomination, its MFD driver calls it the "Intel Dollar Cove TI PMIC".

The Intel Dollar Cove TI PMIC comes with a coulomb-counters with limited
functionality which is intended to work together with an always on
micro-controller monitoring it for fuel-gauge functionality.

Most devices with the Dollar Cove TI PMIC have full-featured fuel-gauge
functionality exposed through ACPI with the information coming from either
the embedded-controller or a separate full-featured fuel-gauge IC.

But some designs lack this, add a battery-monitoring driver using the
PMIC's coulomb-counter combined with the adc-battery-helper for capacity
estimation for these designs.

Register definitions were taken from kernel/drivers/platform/x86/dc_ti_cc.c

6a93f54333 power: supply: Add adc-battery-helper
The TI PMIC used on some Intel Bay/Cherry Trail systems has some builtin
fuel-gauge functionality which just like the UG3105 fuel-gauge is not
a full featured autonomous fuel-gauge.

These fuel-gauges offer accurate current and voltage measurements but
their coulomb-counters are intended to work together with an always on
micro-controller monitoring the fuel-gauge.

Add an adc-battery-helper offering open-circuit-voltage (ocv) and through
that capacity estimation for devices where such limited functionality
fuel-gauges are exposed directly to Linux.

This is a copy of the existing UG3105 estimating code, generalized so that
it can be re-used in other drivers.

The next commit will replace the UG3105 driver's version of this code with
using the adc-battery-helper.

The API has been designed for easy integration into existing power-supply
drivers. For example this functionality might also be a useful addition
to the generic-adc-battery driver.

The requirement of needing the adc_battery_helper struct to be the first
member of a battery driver's data struct is not ideal. This is a compromise
which is necessary to allow directly using the helper's get_property(),
external_power_changed() and suspend()/resume() functions as power-supply /
suspend-resume callbacks.

8648aeb5d7 power: supply: add Qualcomm PMI8998 SMB2 Charger driver
Add a driver for the SMB2 charger block found in the Qualcomm PMI8998
and PM660.

This driver is capable of utilising Qualcomm's Automatic Power Source
Detection (APSD) BC1.2 implementation, as well as Automatic Input
Current Limiting (AICL) to configure the maximum input current
limit of DCP (wall) chargers.

Quick Charge is not currently supported.

Most devices using the smb2 charger have a secondary dedicated charger
chip which is used in parallel to enable faster charger without
overheating. However, not all do, as a result to ensure safety until
these are supported, the maximum current is limited to ~1A via the
FAST_CHARGE_CURRENT_CFG register.

11c7052998 ARM: SoC drivers for 6.3
As usual, there are lots of minor driver changes across SoC platforms
from NXP, Amlogic, AMD Zynq, Mediatek, Qualcomm, Apple and Samsung.
These usually add support for additional chip variations in existing
drivers, but also add features or bugfixes.

The SCMI firmware subsystem gains a unified raw userspace interface
through debugfs, which can be used for validation purposes.

 Newly added drivers include:

  - New power management drivers for StarFive JH7110, Allwinner D1 and
    Renesas RZ/V2M

  - A driver for Qualcomm battery and power supply status

  - A SoC device driver for identifying Nuvoton WPCM450 chips

Pull ARM SoC driver updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"As usual, there are lots of minor driver changes across SoC platforms
from NXP, Amlogic, AMD Zynq, Mediatek, Qualcomm, Apple and Samsung.

29e8142b56 power: supply: Introduce Qualcomm PMIC GLINK power supply
The PMIC GLINK service, running on a coprocessor of modern Qualcomm
platforms, deals with battery charging and fuel gauging, as well as
reporting status of AC and wireless power supplies.

As this is just one of the functionalities provided by the PMIC GLINK
service, this power supply driver is implemented as an auxilirary bus
driver, spawned by the main "pmic glink" driver when the PMIC GLINK
service is detected.

f059b46e6f power: supply: ug3105_battery: Add driver for uPI uG3105 battery monitor
Add a new battery driver for the uPI uG3105 battery monitor.

Note the uG3105 is not a full-featured autonomous fuel-gauge. Instead it
is expected to be use in combination with some always on microcontroller
reading its coulomb-counter before it can wrap (must be read every 400
seconds!).

Since Linux does not monitor coulomb-counter changes while the device is
off or suspended, the coulomb counter is not used atm.

So far this driver is only used on x86/ACPI (non devicetree) devs
(also note there is no of_match table). Therefor there is no devicetree
bindings documentation for this driver's "upisemi,rsns-microohm" property
since this is not used in actual devicetree files and the dt bindings
maintainers have requested properties with no actual dt users to
_not_ be added to the dt bindings.

The property's name has been chosen so that it should not need to be
changed if/when devicetree enumeration support gets added later, as it
mirrors "maxim,rsns-microohm" from the "maxim,max17042" bindings.

This driver creates a sysfs node for each peripheral charge port:

where <n> is the index of a charge port.

For example, when a stylus is connected to a NFC/WLC port, the node
returns:
