The 64-bit Programmers' model extension, now named FEAT_CSPMU_EXT64,
makes all the non-counter registers 64-bit as well, of which we most
need to care PMEVFILTR<n>, PMEVTYPER<n>, and PMCR since it changes
location. Our event config fields are ready for this internally, but
we need a few more tweaks to propagate 64-bit values properly from
end to end.
Since 64-bit events leave no room for our existing "cycles" encoding,
and we don't really expect to see implementations of it anyway, we
deliberately omit generic support for the architectural fixed cycle
counter in this case to save some bother. At worst, vendor modules
can still implement their own encoding if they really want to.

If we have 64-bit counters, we can reasonably assume we'll never have to
handle an overflow before the end of the universe (since we're a system
PMU with no sampling). Thus even if firmware does specify an IRQ, we can
still continue in the event of being unable to request it. This can help
systems where IRQs cannot be claimed exclusively, or are broken in other
ways.

When waiting for a sub-module to register, we return a bare
-EPROBE_DEFER that ends up showing the end user:
platform arm-cs-arch-pmu.1: deferred probe pending (no reason)
wherein it's not necessarily clear that they might need to take some
action to ensure the appropriate module is available to load. Let's use
dev_err_probe() here so we can show exactly what we're waiting for.
Similarly, in the case where something's gone horribly wrong with an
already-registered module, we can use dev_WARN() to standardise the
device/driver attribution rather than just open-coding "arm_cspmu".

On ACPI systems, it has not actually been possible for userspace to
reliably tell which PMU corresponds to which APMT entry for types
other than "ACPI device" - the evidence trail only leads from the
arbitrarily-numbered PMU device to its arbitrarily-numbered parent
platform device that has no distinguishing features either.
While we've now improved the platform device creation to associate the
actual APMT unique ID, we may as well also tweak the PMU devices to
substitute the arbitrary number with a different arbitrary number that
might be more directly meaningful based on the APMT definitions.
We don't have an equivalent for Devicetree, but in that case the
platform devices are at least identifiable via their sysfs-visible
of_node.

The notion of a single u32 filter value for any event doesn't scale well
when the potential architectural scope is already two 64-bit values, and
implementations may add custom stuff on the side too. Rather than try to
thread arbitrary filter data through the common path, let's just make
the set_ev_filter op self-contained in terms of parsing and configuring
any and all filtering for the given event - splitting out a distinct op
for cycles events which inherently differ - and let implementations
override the whole thing if they want to do something different. This
already allows the Ampere code to stop looking a bit hacky.

for large values of NR_CPUS these can consume significant amounts of
stack space and make stack overflows more likely.

arm_cspmu_reset_counters() inherently also stops them since it is
writing 0 to PMCR.E, so there should be no need to do that twice.
Also tidy up the reset routine itself for consistency with the start
and stop routines, and to be clear at first glance that it is simply
writing a constant value.

default ops they want to, by initialising to the default ops first. This
saves all the bother of checking what the impl_init_ops call has or
hasn't touched. Make the same clear distinction for the PMIIDR override
as well, in case we gain more sources for overriding that in future.

The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart
from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks.
To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return
void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to
.remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers
are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove().
Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.

Arm Coresight PMU driver consists of main standard code and
vendor backend code. Both are currently built as a single module.
This patch adds vendor registration API to separate the two to
keep things modular. The main driver requests each known backend
module during initialization and defer device binding process.
The backend module then registers an init callback to the main
driver and continue the device driver binding process.

The functional paths of the driver need not care about ACPI, so abstract
the property of atomic doubleword access as its own flag (repacking the
structure for a better fit). We also do not need to go poking directly
at the APMT for standard resources which the ACPI layer has already
dealt with, so deal with the optional MMIO page and interrupt in the
normal firmware-agnostic manner. The few remaining portions of probing
that *are* APMT-specific can still easily retrieve the APMT pointer as
needed without us having to carry a duplicate copy around everywhere.

Build-wise, the ACPI dependency consists of only a couple of things
which could probably stand being factored out into ACPI helpers anyway.
However for the immediate concern of working towards Devicetree support
here, it's easy enough to make a few tweaks to contain the affected code
locally, such that we can relax the Kconfig dependency.
