The representor ib_device's phys_port_cnt is set to the total vport
count when the uplink vport rep loads. Individual port[i].rep entries
are populated only as each VF/SF vport rep registers. A NULL .rep for
a given port index is therefore expected while VF reps are still
loading or haven't been enabled yet.
Tools like ibstat and ibv_devinfo iterate over all ports of all RDMA
devices. Some ports may not have an eswitch representor, causing
repeated dmesg warnings when these tools run without a device argument.
This causes dmesg to be flooded with this message on every ibstat
invocation.
Remove the warning and return -ENODEV when no representor exists for
the queried port.

mlx5_query_vport_max_tx_speed() was introduced to serve the
query_port_speed path, which uses max_tx_speed == 0 when port is down.
This is incorrect for callers that need the actual configured speed
regardless of vport state, such as modify-vport-state helpers
that must preserve the speed across state transitions.
Move this logic to the caller function in the verb flow and let
mlx5_query_vport_max_tx_speed() return the raw firmware value
unconditionally.

The core always hands the driver's query_device() callback a zeroed
ib_device_attr. There are only two callers of the op and both clear the
structure before invoking it: setup_device() memsets &device->attrs, and
ib_uverbs_ex_query_device() passes an on-stack structure initialized to {}.
The open-coded memset(props, 0, sizeof(*props)) at the top of the driver
callbacks is therefore redundant. Remove it from all drivers.

devx_free_subscription() can remain queued after the last DevX event file
drops its module reference or an auxiliary driver detaches its devices.
mlx5_ib can then unload before the callback runs.
Registration error unwind has the same risk because driver registration
can attach existing devices before failing. Wait after all drivers have
stopped.

mlx5_ib_alloc_transport_domain() allocates a transport domain and then
may fail in mlx5_ib_enable_lb(). In that case, the allocated TD is leaked.

mlx5 has a common pattern implementing a device-global singleton resource
where it checks the resource pointer for !NULL and then skips obtaining
the lock.
This is not ordered properly as observing !NULL doesn't mean that all the
data under that pointer is also visible on this CPU when the lock is not
taken.
Use a release/acquire pairing to explicitly manage this.

mlx5_ib_dev_res_srq_init() allocates two SRQs, s0 and s1. When
ib_create_srq() fails for s1, the error branch destroys s0 but falls
through and unconditionally assigns the freed s0 and the ERR_PTR s1 to
devr->s0 and devr->s1.
This leads to several problems: the lock-free fast path checks
"if (devr->s1) return 0;" and treats the ERR_PTR as already initialised;
users in mlx5_ib_create_qp() dereference the freed SRQ or ERR_PTR via
to_msrq(devr->s0)->msrq.srqn; and mlx5_ib_dev_res_cleanup() dereferences
the ERR_PTR and double-frees s0 on teardown.
Fix by adding the same `goto unlock` in the s1 failure path.

Downstream patches will introduce SW-only LAG (e.g. shared_fdb without

but vport demuxing is still required.
Move LAG demux flow-table ownership to the LAG layer and introduce APIs
to init/cleanup the demux table and add/delete per-vport rules. Adjust
the RDMA driver to use the new APIs.
In this mode, the LAG layer will create a flow group that matches vport
metadata. Vports that are not native to the LAG master eswitch add the
demux rule during IB representor load and remove it on unload.
The demux rule forward traffic from said vports to their native eswitch

Use the new generic FRMR pools mechanism to optimize the performance of
memory registrations.
The move to the new generic FRMR pools will allow users configuring MR
cache through debugfs of MR cache to use the netlink API for FRMR pools
which will be added later in this series. Thus being able to have more
flexibility configuring the kernel and also being able to configure on
machines where debugfs is not available.
Mlx5_ib will save the mkey index as the handle in FRMR pools, same as the
MR cache implementation.
Upon each memory registration mlx5_ib will try to pull a handle from FRMR
pools and upon each deregistration it will push the handle back to it's
appropriate pool.
Use the vendor key field in umr pool key to save the access mode of the
mkey.
Use the option for kernel-only FRMR pool to manage the mkeys used for
registration with DMAH as the translation between UAPI of DMAH and the
mkey property of st_index is non-trivial and changing dynamically.
Since the value for no PH is 0xff and not zero, switch between them in
the frmr_key to have a zero'ed kernel_vendor_key when not using DMAH.
Remove the limitation we had with MR cache for mkeys up to 2^20 dma
blocks and support mkeys up to HW limitations according to caps.
Remove all MR cache related code.

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

Enable p2pdma on the mlx5 PCI device to allow DMABUF-based peer-to-peer
DMA mappings.
Add implementation of the mmap_get_pfns and pgoff_to_mmap_entry device
operations required for DMABUF support in the mlx5 RDMA driver.
The pgoff_to_mmap_entry operation converts a page offset to the
corresponding rdma_user_mmap_entry by extracting the command and index
from the offset and looking it up in the ucontext's mmap_xa.
The mmap_get_pfns operation retrieves the physical address and length
from the mmap entry and obtains the p2pdma provider for the underlying
PCI device, which is needed for peer-to-peer DMA operations with
DMABUFs.

When querying speed information for a representor in switchdev mode,
the code previously used the first device in the eswitch, which may not
match the device that actually owns the representor. In setups such as
multi-port eswitch or LAG, this led to incorrect port attributes being
reported.
Fix this by retrieving the correct core device from the representor's
eswitch before querying its port attributes.

During firmware reset in LAG mode, a race condition causes the driver
to hang indefinitely while waiting for UMR completion during device
unload. See [1].
In LAG mode the bond device is only registered on the master, so it
never sees sys_error events from the slave.
During firmware reset this causes UMR waits to hang forever on unload
as the slave is dead but the master hasn't entered error state yet, so
UMR posts succeed but completions never arrive.
Fix this by adding a sys_error notifier that gets registered before
MLX5_IB_STAGE_IB_REG and stays alive until after ib_unregister_device().
This ensures error events reach the bond device throughout teardown.

Before this patch during either switchdev or legacy mode enablement we
cleared the mac address of vports between changes. This change allows us
to preserve the vports mac address between eswitch mode changes.
Vports hold information for VFs/SFs such as the permanent mac address.
VF/SF mac can be set either by iproute vf interface or devlink function
interface. For no obvious reason we reset it to 0 on switchdev/legacy
mode changes, this patch is fixing that, to align with other vport
information that are never reset, e.g GUID,mtu, promisc mode, etc ..

The mlx5 driver currently derives max_qp_wr directly from the
log_max_qp_sz HCA capability:
props->max_qp_wr = 1 << MLX5_CAP_GEN(mdev, log_max_qp_sz);
However, this value represents the number of WQEs in units of Basic
Blocks (see MLX5_SEND_WQE_BB), not actual number of WQEs. Since the size
of a WQE can vary depending on transport type and features (e.g., atomic
operations, UMR, LSO), the actual number of WQEs can be significantly
smaller than the WQEBB count suggests.
This patch introduces a conservative estimation of the worst-case WQE size
— considering largest segments possible with 1 SGE and no inline data or
special features. It uses this to derive a more accurate max_qp_wr value.
