This is another run of the Coccinelle script for converting kmalloc()
family of allocations to kmalloc_obj() via the existing rules in
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci
This catches both the set of kmalloc() uses added since the first
kmalloc_obj() conversions in v7.0 and adds a large group missed in the
first pass due to Coccinelle not interacting well with the cleanup.h
scoped_...() family of macros[1]. I worked around this with spatch's
"--macro-file" argument to a file with all the scoped_...() macros mapped
to Coccinelle's YACFE_ITERATOR[2] as that was the closest viable control
flow indicator I could find.
Build tested allmodconfig on x86, arm64, arm, loongarch, mips, powerpc,
riscv, and s390 with no new warnings.

The query_device callbacks that neither accept driver-specific input nor
return a driver-specific response open-code the empty udata handling as
ib_is_udata_in_empty() on entry and ib_respond_empty_udata() on exit.
ib_no_udata_io() already combines both steps, so replace the entry check
with it and simply return 0 on success.
Unlike the create and destroy flows, query_device owns no uobject or HW
resource - the extended path fills a stack ib_device_attr that the core
discards on error - so clearing the empty response buffer on entry rather
than on exit is a mechanical change with no functional difference.

The core always hands the driver's query_device() callback a zeroed
ib_device_attr. There are only two callers of the op and both clear the
structure before invoking it: setup_device() memsets &device->attrs, and
ib_uverbs_ex_query_device() passes an on-stack structure initialized to {}.
The open-coded memset(props, 0, sizeof(*props)) at the top of the driver
callbacks is therefore redundant. Remove it from all drivers.

In hns_roce_v2_set_hem() the HEM address indices are computed from
i, j and k (the base-chunk_ba_num decomposition of the 32-bit
table_idx) in 32-bit arithmetic and then assigned to u64 fields.
The recombined value always equals table_idx and cannot exceed
U32_MAX, so this is not a reachable overflow and has no user-visible
impact. Declare i, j and k as u64 so the calculation is done in
64-bit and the pattern no longer trips static analyzers.
No functional change intended.

In hns_roce_cleanup_mhop_hem_table(), the expression:
obj = i * buf_chunk_size / table->obj_size;
is evaluated using 32-bit unsigned arithmetic because
'buf_chunk_size' is u32 and the usual arithmetic conversions convert
'i' to unsigned int. The result is assigned to a u64 variable, but the
multiplication may overflow before the assignment.
For sufficiently large HEM tables, this produces an incorrect object
index passed to hns_roce_table_mhop_put().
Cast 'i' to u64 before the multiplication so that the intermediate
calculation is performed with 64-bit arithmetic.

In a corner case of concurrent driver removal and driver reset,
bonding resource is first released in hns_roce_hw_v2_exit() during

If IB_MR_REREG_ACCESS changes from RO to RW then the umem has to be
re-evaluated to ensure it is properly pinned as RW. Since the umem is
hidden inside each driver's mr struct add a ib_umem_check_rereg() function
that each driver has to call before processing IB_MR_REREG_ACCESS.
mlx4 has to retain its duplicate ib_access_writable check because it
implements IB_MR_REREG_ACCESS | IB_MR_REREG_TRANS by changing both items
in place sequentially while the MR is live, so it will continue to not

This op hasn't followed the normal pattern of passing NULL for udata when
invoked by the kernel. Instead the kernel caller creates a dummy ib_udata
on the stack and passes that in. It does not seem to currently be a bug,
but this flow should be modernized to use the new API flow and in the
process accept NULL as well.
Only mlx4 uses an input request structure, have every other driver call
ib_is_udata_in_empty() to enforce the lack of request structs.
Use ib_respond_empty_udata() in every driver that does not use a response
struct.
Ensure a check for NULL udata before calling ib_respond_udata() in
bnxt_re, efa, and mlx5.
Make mlx4 safe to be called with NULL.

setup_root_hem() reads the first entry of head->root and checks
the returned pointer against NULL:
root_hem = list_first_entry(&head->root,
struct hns_roce_hem_item, list);
if (!root_hem)
return -ENOMEM;
list_first_entry() never returns NULL. On an empty list it returns
container_of(head, ..., list), a non-NULL garbage pointer that
aliases the head. So the check is dead.
The only caller adds an entry to head.root right before invoking
setup_root_hem():
list_add(&root_hem->list, &head.root);
ret = setup_root_hem(..., &head, ...);
So head.root is guaranteed non-empty on entry. Drop the check.

This converts some of the visually simpler cases that have been split
over multiple lines. I only did the ones that are easy to verify the
resulting diff by having just that final GFP_KERNEL argument on the next
line.
Somebody should probably do a proper coccinelle script for this, but for
me the trivial script actually resulted in an assertion failure in the
middle of the script. I probably had made it a bit _too_ trivial.
So after fighting that far a while I decided to just do some of the
syntactically simpler cases with variations of the previous 'sed'
scripts.
The more syntactically complex multi-line cases would mostly really want
whitespace cleanup anyway.

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

Some ULPs, e.g. rpcrdma, rely on drain_qp() to ensure all outstanding
requests are completed before releasing related memory. If drain_qp()
fails, ULPs may release memory directly, and in-flight WRs may later be
flushed after the memory is freed, potentially leading to UAF.
drain_qp() failures can happen when HW enters an error state or is
reset. Add support to drain SQ and RQ in such cases by posting a
fake WR during reset, so the driver can process all remaining WRs in
sequence and generate corresponding completions.
Always invoke comp_handler() in drain process to ensure completions
are not lost under concurrency (e.g. concurrent post_send() and
reset, or QPs created during reset). If the CQ is already processed,
cancel any already scheduled comp_handler() to avoid concurrency
issues.

During a reset, software-generated WCs cannot be reported via
interrupts. This may cause the ULP to miss some WCs.
To avoid this, add check in the CQ arm process: if a hardware reset
has occurred and there are still unreported soft-WCs, notify the ULP
to handle the remaining WCs, thereby preventing any loss of completions.

DSCP is not supported in RoCEv1, but get_dscp() is still called. If
get_dscp() returns an error, it'll eventually cause create_ah to fail
even when using RoCEv1.
Correct the return value and avoid calling get_dscp() when using
RoCEv1.

In limit_bank mode, QPs/CQs are restricted to using half of the banks.
HW concentrates resources on these banks, thereby improving performance
compared to the default mode.
Switch between limit_bank mode and default mode by setting the cap
flag in FW. Since the number of QPs and CQs will be halved, this mode
is suitable for scenarios where fewer QPs and CQs are required.

When conditions are met, schedule a delayed work in bond event handler
to perform bonding operation according to the bond state. In the case
of changing slave number or link state, re-set the netdev for the bond
ibdev after the modification is complete, since these two operations
may not call hns_roce_set_bond_netdev() in hns_roce_init().
The delayed work will be paused when there is a driver reset or exit
to avoid concurrency.

Implement hns_roce_slave_init() and hns_roce_slave_uninit() for device
init/uninit in bonding cases. The former is used to initialize a slave
ibdev (when the slave is unlinked from a bond) or a bond ibdev, while
the latter does the opposite. Most of the process is the same as
regular device init/uninit, while some bonding‑specific steps below are
also added.
In bond device init flow, choose one slave to re-initialize as the
main_hr_dev of the bond, and it will be the only device presented for
multiple slaves. During registration, set and active netdev to the
ibdev based on the link state of the slaves. When this main_hr_dev
slave is being unlinked while the bond is still valid, choose a new
slave from the rest and initialize it as the new bond device.
In uninit flow, add a bond cleanup process, restore all the other
slaves and clean up bond resource. This is only for the case where
the port of main_hr_dev is directly removed without unlinking it
from bond.

Register netdev notifier for two bonding events NETDEV_CHANGEUPPER
and NETDEV_CHANGELOWERSTATE.
In NETDEV_CHANGEUPPER event handler, check some rules about the HW
constraints when trying to link a new slave to the masteri, and
store some bonding information from the notifier. In unlinking case,
simply check the number of the rest slaves to decide whether the
bond is still supported.
In NETDEV_CHANGELOWERSTATE event handler, not much is done. It
simply sets the bond state when the bond is ready, which will be
used later.
