8fd7576fd6 drm/komeda: Add support for Arm China Linlon-D6
Arm China Linlon-D6 is register-compatible with the Mali-D71 display
pipeline for the purpose of basic modesetting.

On Linlon-D6, the PRODUCT_ID register is located at the same offset as on
Mali-D71 and reports 0x0060. The IP also exposes the same Komeda top-level
block layout expected by the existing d71_identify() probing flow, so we
can reuse the D71 function table to bring up the display engine.

drm/arm: komeda: Convert to drm_output_color_format
Now that we introduced a new drm_output_color_format enum to represent
what DRM_COLOR_FORMAT_* bits were representing, we can switch to the new
enum.

The main difference is that while DRM_COLOR_FORMAT_ was a bitmask,
drm_output_color_format is a proper enum. However, the enum was done is
such a way than DRM_COLOR_FORMAT_X = BIT(DRM_OUTPUT_COLOR_FORMAT_X) so
the transitition is easier.

The only thing we need to consider is if the original code meant to use
that value as a bitmask, in which case we do need to keep the bit shift,
or as a discriminant in which case we don't.

drm/atomic: Remove state argument to drm_atomic_private_obj_init
Now that all drm_private_objs users have been converted to use
atomic_create_state instead of the old ad-hoc initialization, we can
remove the state parameter from drm_private_obj_init and the fallback
code.

32a92f8c89 Convert more 'alloc_obj' cases to default GFP_KERNEL arguments
This converts some of the visually simpler cases that have been split
over multiple lines. I only did the ones that are easy to verify the
resulting diff by having just that final GFP_KERNEL argument on the next
line.

Somebody should probably do a proper coccinelle script for this, but for
me the trivial script actually resulted in an assertion failure in the
middle of the script. I probably had made it a bit _too_ trivial.

So after fighting that far a while I decided to just do some of the
syntactically simpler cases with variations of the previous 'sed'
scripts.

The more syntactically complex multi-line cases would mostly really want
whitespace cleanup anyway.

bf4afc53b7 Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argument
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

    git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
        xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

69050f8d6d treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar types
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

drm/arm: komeda: Switch private_obj initialization to atomic_create_state
The ARM komeda driver relies on a number of drm_private_objs, that are
initialized by allocating and initializing a state, and then passing it
to drm_private_obj_init.

Since we're gradually moving away from that pattern to the more
established one relying on a atomic_create_state implementation, let's
migrate this instance to the new pattern.

779ec12c85 drm/komeda: fix integer overflow in AFBC framebuffer size check
The AFBC framebuffer size validation calculates the minimum required
buffer size by adding the AFBC payload size to the framebuffer offset.
This addition is performed without checking for integer overflow.

If the addition oveflows, the size check may incorrectly succed and
allow userspace to provide an undersized drm_gem_object, potentially
leading to out-of-bounds memory access.

Add usage of check_add_overflow() to safely compute the minimum
required size and reject the framebuffer if an overflow is detected.
This makes the AFBC size validation more robust against malformed.

Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

75e8635832 drm: Discard pm_runtime_put() return value
Multiple DRM drivers use the pm_runtime_put() return value for printing
debug or even error messages and all of those messages are at least
somewhat misleading.

Returning an error code from pm_runtime_put() merely means that it has
not queued up a work item to check whether or not the device can be
suspended and there are many perfectly valid situations in which that
can happen, like after writing "on" to the devices' runtime PM "control"
attribute in sysfs for one example. It also happens when the kernel
has been configured with CONFIG_PM unset.

For this reason, modify all of those drivers to simply discard the
pm_runtime_put() return value which is what they should be doing.

This will facilitate a planned change of the pm_runtime_put() return
type to void in the future.

83f81f5499 drm/komeda: Convert logging in komeda_crtc.c to drm_* with drm_device parameter
Replace all dev_err(), dev_warn(), dev_info() and DRM_ERROR/WARN/INFO()
calls in drivers/gpu/drm/arm/display/komeda/komeda_crtc.c with the
corresponding drm_err(), drm_warn(), and drm_info() helpers.

The new drm_*() logging functions take a struct drm_device * as the
first argument. This allows the DRM core to prefix log messages with
the specific DRM device name and instance, which is essential for
distinguishing logs when multiple GPUs or display controllers are present.

This change aligns komeda with the DRM TODO item: "Convert logging to
drm_* functions with drm_device parameter".

drm/arm/malidp: Switch to drm_atomic_get_new_crtc_state()
The malidp atomic_check implementation uses the deprecated
drm_atomic_get_existing_crtc_state() helper.

This hook is called as part of the global atomic_check, thus before the
states are swapped. The existing state thus points to the new state, and
we can use drm_atomic_get_new_crtc_state() instead.

a34cc7bf10 drm: Allow the caller to pass in the format info to drm_helper_mode_fill_fb_struct()
Soon all drivers should have the format info already available in the
places where they call drm_helper_mode_fill_fb_struct(). Allow it to
be passed along into drm_helper_mode_fill_fb_struct() instead of doing
yet another redundant lookup.

Start by always passing in NULL and still doing the extra lookup.
The actual changes to avoid the lookup will follow.

0e7d5874fb drm: Pass pixel_format+modifier directly to drm_get_format_info()
Decouple drm_get_format_info() from struct drm_mode_fb_cmd2 and just
pass the pixel format+modifier combo in by hand.

We may want to use drm_get_format_info() outside of the normal
addfb paths where we won't have a struct drm_mode_fb_cmd2, and
creating a temporary one just for this seems silly.

edcc9d24fb drm/arm/hdlcd: Replace struct simplefb_format with custom type
Map DRM FourCC codes to pixel descriptions with an internal struct
type. Avoid simplefb's struct simplefb_format, which is for parsing
"simple-framebuffer" DT nodes. Drop the unsupported formats with
alpha channel from the list.

The HDLCD drivers uses struct simplefb_format and its default
initializer SIMPLEFB_FORMATS to map DRM_FORMAT_ constants to pixel
descriptions. The simplefb helpers are for parsing "simple-framebuffer"
DT nodes and should be avoided in other context. Therefore replace it
in hdlcd with a custom struct type and pixel descriptions from
PIXEL_FORMAT_ constants.

This change also removes including <linux/platform_data/simplefb.h>,
which includes several unrelated headers, such as <linux/fb.h>.

v2:
- drop unsupported alpha formats (Liviu)
- keep original sorting of formats (Javier)
- use anonymous type for supported_formats

e70140ba0d Get rid of 'remove_new' relic from platform driver struct
The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and
is really not helping. Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member
function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a
comment to that effect:

  /*
   * .remove_new() is a relic from a prototype conversion of .remove().
   * New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are
   * converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped.
   */

This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with
'.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs
to make things line up.

I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used
spaces to line things up.

Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this
is the end result. No more unnecessary conversion noise.

258905cb9a drm: komeda: Fix an issue related to normalized zpos
We use komeda_crtc_normalize_zpos to normalize zpos of affected planes
to their blending zorder in CU. If there's only one slave plane in
affected planes and its layer_split property is enabled, order++ for
its split layer, so that when calculating the normalized_zpos
of master planes, the split layer of the slave plane is included, but
the max_slave_zorder does not include the split layer and keep zero
because there's only one slave plane in affacted planes, although we
actually use two slave layers in this commit.

In most cases, this bug does not result in a commit failure, but assume
the following situation:
    slave_layer 0: zpos = 0, layer split enabled, normalized_zpos =
    0;(use slave_layer 2 as its split layer)
    master_layer 0: zpos = 2, layer_split enabled, normalized_zpos =
    2;(use master_layer 2 as its split layer)
    master_layer 1: zpos = 4, normalized_zpos = 4;
    master_layer 3: zpos = 5, normalized_zpos = 5;
    kcrtc_st->max_slave_zorder = 0;
When we use master_layer 3 as a input of CU in function
komeda_compiz_set_input and check it with function
komeda_component_check_input, the parameter idx is equal to
normailzed_zpos minus max_slave_zorder, the value of idx is 5
and is euqal to CU's max_active_inputs, so that
komeda_component_check_input returns a -EINVAL value.

To fix the bug described above, when calculating the max_slave_zorder
with the layer_split enabled, count the split layer in this calculation
directly.

arm/komeda: Remove all CONFIG_DEBUG_FS conditional compilations
Since the debugfs functions have no-op stubs for CONFIG_DEBUG_FS=n,
the compiler will optimize the rest away since they are no longer referenced.

The benefit of removing the conditional compilation is that the build
is actually tested for both CONFIG_DEBUG_FS configuration values.
Assuming most developers have it enabled, CONFIG_DEBUG_FS=n is not tested
much and may fail the build due to the conditional compilation.

a918dcfecc drm/arm/komeda: update DMA mask to 40 bits
Each layer in the DPU has a 40-bit base address register, which indicates
start of frame buffer data for that layer. Komeda driver does not set
its DMA mask, which makes it 32-bit by default which does not use
the entire available possible supported by the DPU.

Update the DMA mask to align with DPU Architecture v1.0 spec.

71b03802fe drm/arm/komeda: Move pipeline prints to after the entire pipeline has been enabled
The komeda driver prints a pretty verbose log in komeda_pipeline_dump()
detailing the components of each of the two pipelines. This gets printed
multiple times during boot as komeda EPROBE_DEFERs waiting for the
remote bridge drivers to come up. Move this log to after this has
happened indicating that the printed pipeline is actually completely up.

9054c46d47 drm/arm/komeda: Fix komeda probe failing if there are no links in the secondary pipeline
Since commit 4cfe5cc02e ("drm/arm/komeda: Remove component framework and
add a simple encoder"), the devm_drm_of_get_bridge() call happens
regardless of whether any remote nodes are available on the pipeline. Fix
this by moving the bridge attach to its own function and calling it
conditional on there being an output link.

ed325ac38e drm/arm/komeda: don't use confusing 'timeout' variable name
There is a confusing pattern in the kernel to use a variable named 'timeout' to
store the result of wait_for_completion_timeout() causing patterns like:

	timeout = wait_for_completion_timeout(...)
	if (!timeout) return -ETIMEDOUT;

with all kinds of permutations. Check the return value directly to drop
'timeout' which also fixes its wrong type.

b1992c3772 kbuild: use $(src) instead of $(srctree)/$(src) for source directory
Kbuild conventionally uses $(obj)/ for generated files, and $(src)/ for
checked-in source files. It is merely a convention without any functional
difference. In fact, $(obj) and $(src) are exactly the same, as defined
in scripts/Makefile.build:

    src := $(obj)

When the kernel is built in a separate output directory, $(src) does
not accurately reflect the source directory location. While Kbuild
resolves this discrepancy by specifying VPATH=$(srctree) to search for
source files, it does not cover all cases. For example, when adding a
header search path for local headers, -I$(srctree)/$(src) is typically
passed to the compiler.

This introduces inconsistency between upstream and downstream Makefiles
because $(src) is used instead of $(srctree)/$(src) for the latter.

To address this inconsistency, this commit changes the semantics of
$(src) so that it always points to the directory in the source tree.

Going forward, the variables used in Makefiles will have the following
meanings:

  $(obj) - directory in the object tree
  $(src) - directory in the source tree (changed by this commit)
  $(objtree) - the top of the kernel object tree
  $(srctree) - the top of the kernel source tree

Consequently, $(srctree)/$(src) in upstream Makefiles need to be replaced
with $(src).
