66da1ae196 gpio: move ppc4xx gpio driver from arch/powerpc to drivers/gpio
Move the ppc4xx gpio driver out of arch/powerpc/platforms/44x/ into
drivers/gpio/gpio-ppc44x.c. The driver has no architecture-specific
dependencies and follows the same pattern as other PowerPC GPIO
drivers already in drivers/gpio/ (e.g. gpio-mpc8xxx, gpio-mpc5200).

- Renamed Kconfig symbol from PPC4xx_GPIO to GPIO_PPC44X
- Updated ppc44x_defconfig and warp_defconfig to use the new symbol
- Marked the new option as tristate (was bool) since the driver
  supports module build via module_platform_driver()

6435d21cbd gpio: realtek: Add driver for Realtek DHC RTD1625 SoC
Add support for the GPIO controller found on Realtek DHC RTD1625 SoCs.

Unlike the existing Realtek GPIO driver (drivers/gpio/gpio-rtd.c),
which manages pins via shared bank registers, the RTD1625 introduces
a per-pin register architecture. Each GPIO line now has its own
dedicated 32-bit control register to manage configuration independently,
including direction, output value, input value, interrupt enable, and
debounce. Therefore, this distinct hardware design requires a separate
driver.

The RTD1625 GPIO controller has a hardware quirk where both 'assert'
and 'de-assert' interrupts are fired simultaneously on any edge toggle.
The driver works around this quirk to correctly handle edge interrupts.

Interrupt support is optional for this device, matching the dt-bindings.
If the interrupts property is not provided, the driver simply skips IRQ
initialization and operates purely as a basic GPIO controller.

a57e27c43b gpio: realtek: Add driver for Realtek DHC RTD1625 SoC
Add support for the GPIO controller found on Realtek DHC RTD1625 SoCs.

Unlike the existing Realtek GPIO driver (drivers/gpio/gpio-rtd.c),
which manages pins via shared bank registers, the RTD1625 introduces
a per-pin register architecture. Each GPIO line now has its own
dedicated 32-bit control register to manage configuration independently,
including direction, output value, input value, interrupt enable, and
debounce. Therefore, this distinct hardware design requires a separate
driver.

Additionally, the RTD1625 GPIO controller has a specific hardware quirk:
it fires both 'assert' and 'de-assert' interrupts simultaneously on any
edge toggle. To handle this, we utilize the polarity register to route
the requested edge (rising/falling) to the 'assert' IRQ line. The driver
then filters out the unwanted 'de-assert' interrupt in the IRQ handler
and pre-clears edge interrupts to prevent interrupt storms caused by
unhandled dropped interrupts.

Interrupt support is optional for this device, matching the dt-bindings.
If the interrupts property is not provided, the driver simply skips IRQ
initialization and operates purely as a basic GPIO controller.

a6d2a3b403 gpio: add kunit test cases for the GPIO subsystem
Add a module containing kunit test cases for GPIO core. The idea is to
use it to test functionalities that can't easily be tested from

For now add test cases that verify software node based lookup and ensure

6b367741e0 gpio: Support ROHM BD72720 gpios
The ROHM BD72720 has 6 pins which may be configured as GPIOs. The
GPIO1 ... GPIO5 and EPDEN pins. The configuration is done to OTP at the
manufacturing, and it can't be read at runtime. The device-tree is
required to tell the software which of the pins are used as GPIOs.

Keep the pin mapping static regardless the OTP. This way the user-space
can always access the BASE+N for GPIO(N+1) (N = 0 to 4), and BASE + 5
for the EPDEN pin. Do this by setting always the number of GPIOs to 6,
and by using the valid-mask to invalidate the pins which aren't configured
as GPIOs.

First two pins can be set to be either input or output by OTP. Direction
can't be changed by software. Rest of the pins can be set as outputs
only. All of the pins support generating interrupts.

Support the Input/Output state getting/setting and the output mode
configuration (open-drain/push-pull).

2b03d9a40c gpio: add gpio-line-mux driver
Add a new driver which provides a 1-to-many mapping for a single real
GPIO using a multiplexer. Each virtual GPIO corresponds to a multiplexer
state which, if set for the multiplexer, connects the real GPIO to the
corresponding virtual GPIO.

This can help in various usecases. One practical case is the special
hardware design of the Realtek-based XS1930-10 switch from Zyxel. It
features two SFP+ ports/cages whose signals are wired directly to the
switch SoC. Although Realtek SoCs are short on GPIOs, there are usually
enough the fit the SFP signals without any hacks.

However, Zyxel did some weird design and connected RX_LOS, MOD_ABS and
TX_FAULT of one SFP cage onto a single GPIO line controlled by a
multiplexer (the same for the other SFP cage). The single multiplexer
controls the lines for both SFP and depending on the state, the
designated 'signal GPIO lines' are connected to one of the three SFP
signals.

Because the SFP core/driver doesn't support multiplexer but needs single
GPIOs for each of the signals, this driver fills the gap between both.
It registers a gpio_chip, provides multiple virtual GPIOs and sets the
backing multiplexer accordingly.

Due to several practical issues, this is input-only and doesn't support
IRQs.

e992d54c6f gpio: shared-proxy: implement the shared GPIO proxy driver
Add a virtual GPIO proxy driver which arbitrates access to a single
shared GPIO by multiple users. It works together with the core shared
GPIO support from GPIOLIB and functions by acquiring a reference to a
shared GPIO descriptor exposed by gpiolib-shared and making sure that
the state of the GPIO stays consistent.

In general: if there's only one user at the moment: allow it to do
anything as if this was a normal GPIO (in essence: just propagate calls
to the underlying real hardware driver). If there are more users: don't
allow to change the direction set by the initial user, allow to change
configuration options but warn about possible conflicts and finally:
treat the output-high value as a reference counted, logical "GPIO
enabled" setting, meaning: the GPIO value is set to high when the first
user requests it to be high and back to low once the last user stops
"voting" for high.

a060b8c511 gpiolib: implement low-level, shared GPIO support
This module scans the device tree (for now only OF nodes are supported
but care is taken to make other fwnode implementations easy to
integrate) and determines which GPIO lines are shared by multiple users.
It stores that information in memory. When the GPIO chip exposing shared
lines is registered, the shared GPIO descriptors it exposes are marked
as shared and virtual "proxy" devices that mediate access to the shared
lines are created. When a consumer of a shared GPIO looks it up, its
fwnode lookup is redirected to a just-in-time machine lookup that points
to this proxy device.

This code can be compiled out on platforms which don't use shared GPIOs.

Although the underlying hardware supports various pin config settings
(input/output, open drain, etc.), this driver does not implement that
functionality and leaves it up to the firmware to configure things
properly. We also don't yet support interrupts/events. This is
sufficient for device power control, which is the only thing we need to
support at this point. More features will be implemented when needed.

c46a74ff05 gpio: add support for FTDI's MPSSE as GPIO
FTDI FT2232H is a USB to GPIO chip. Sealevel produces some devices
with this chip. FT2232H presents itself as a composite device with two
interfaces (each is an "MPSSE"). Each MPSSE has two banks (high and low)
of 8 GPIO each. I believe some MPSSE's have only one bank, but I don't
know how to identify them (I don't have any for testing) and as a result
are unsupported for the time being.

Additionally, this driver provides software polling-based interrupts for
edge detection. For the Sealevel device I have to test with, this works
well because there is hardware debouncing. From talking to Sealevel's
people, this is their preferred way to do edge detection.

91581c4b3f gpio: virtuser: new virtual testing driver for the GPIO API
The GPIO subsystem used to have a serious problem with undefined behavior
and use-after-free bugs on hot-unplug of GPIO chips. This can be
considered a corner-case by some as most GPIO controllers are enabled
early in the boot process and live until the system goes down but most
GPIO drivers do allow unbind over sysfs, many are loadable modules that
can be (force) unloaded and there are also GPIO devices that can be
dynamically detached, for instance CP2112 which is a USB GPIO expender.

Bugs can be triggered both from user-space as well as by in-kernel users.
We have the means of testing it from user-space via the character device
but the issues manifest themselves differently in the kernel.

This is a proposition of adding a new virtual driver - a configurable
GPIO consumer that can be configured over configfs (similarly to
gpio-sim) or described on the device-tree.

This driver is aimed as a helper in spotting any regressions in
hot-unplug handling in GPIOLIB.

966942ae49 gpio: nomadik: extract GPIO platform driver from drivers/pinctrl/nomadik/
Previously, drivers/pinctrl/nomadik/pinctrl-nomadik.c registered two
platform drivers: pinctrl & GPIO. Move the GPIO aspect to the
drivers/gpio/ folder, as would be expected.

Both drivers are intertwined for a reason; pinctrl requires access to
GPIO registers for pinmuxing, pull-disable, disabling interrupts while
setting the muxing and wakeup control. Information sharing is done
through a shared array containing GPIO chips and a few helper
functions. That shared array is not touched from gpio-nomadik when
CONFIG_PINCTRL_NOMADIK is not defined.

Make no change to the code that moved into gpio-nomadik; there should be
no behavior change following. A few functions are shared and header
comments are added. Checkpatch warnings are addressed. NUM_BANKS is
renamed to NMK_MAX_BANKS.

It is supported to compile gpio-nomadik without pinctrl-nomadik. The
opposite is not true.

It's either a GPO when MULTI_DEVICE_EN=0 or a GPI when MULTI_DEVICE_EN=1.

Datasheet describes specific usage for non standard GPIO.
